[0001] The invention relates to a plastic container comprising a base container, a lid that closes the container, at least one hinge for connecting the base container and the lid, and at least one hinge closure, wherein the base container has a base and at least one wall, the hinge is pivotally attached to the base container, the hinge connects the lid and the base container, the lid is held on one side by the hinge element on the edge of the container, and the lid can be opened by moving the hinge, the lid has an at least partially circumferential rim, and the rim of the lid has a U-shaped cross-section.
[0002] Plastic containers for storing and transporting items or food are available in many shapes and designs. To protect the contents from dirt or dust and to allow for stacking, some containers are equipped with lids. The lid is either a separate component that can be removed from the base, also known as a lidded box, or it is attached to the base via a hinge, also known as a hinged-lid box or hinged-lid box. Therefore, when purchasing a container, the user must decide whether to buy a box with a removable lid or a hinged-lid box with a fixed lid.
