AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing straddle-type vehicles experience hunting and tumbling phenomena at medium to high speeds, which reduce stability without increasing vehicle size or weight, and existing solutions like variable trailing angle devices may exacerbate this issue.

Method used

A travel control device that determines vehicle speed, angular velocity, and frequency to initiate speed reduction controls, such as throttle adjustment or rear-wheel braking, to mitigate these phenomena without adding weight or size.

Benefits of technology

Effectively reduces hunting and tumbling phenomena at medium to high speeds, maintaining stability while avoiding increased size or weight, and accurately distinguishing these phenomena from other vibrations.
