Abstract
Description
[0001] One aspect of the invention relates to a household appliance comprising a housing and a container arranged within the housing. The housing has an opening through which the container can be inserted into and removed from the housing. Another aspect of the invention relates to a method for removing a container from the housing of the household appliance.
[0002] It is known that household appliances have reversibly removable containers. For example, in a household appliance with a steam cooking function, it is known that a container for holding water can be reversibly removed from and reinserted into the appliance's housing. This allows the container to be filled with water while removed, or to be cleaned and / or maintained as needed.
[0003] Solutions exist in which such a container is automatically moved from its inserted end position to a removal position by means of a motor within the appliance. Such a solution therefore necessarily requires such a motor. This motor takes up space in the cooking appliance and also requires energy during operation.
[0004] Furthermore, with such a motor-driven system, the time between requesting container removal and reaching the motor-set removal position of the container represents a waiting time for the user.
[0005] It is also known to enable the removal of a container via a push-push device. However, this is structurally complex.
[0006] The object of the present invention is to create a household appliance in which the removal of a container from a housing of the household appliance can be carried out easily and quickly.
[0007] This task is solved by a household appliance and a method according to the independent claims.
[0008] One aspect of the invention relates to a household appliance comprising a housing and a container arranged within the housing. The housing has an opening through which the container can be inserted into and removed from the housing. The container has a front panel. Furthermore, the container has a body for holding liquid. The front panel is movably mounted on this body by means of a pivoting device. In particular, this allows the front panel to pivot relative to the body when it is in position. The front panel can be moved into a removal position by means of this pivoting device. The removal position is defined, in particular, by the fact that in this position the container can be removed from the housing using the front panel. The intended use of the removal position is therefore characterized by the fact that, unlike the fixed, non-rotating home position, the front panel is positioned so that it can be directly gripped by a user, thus enabling the manual removal of the container from the housing. In particular, the removal position is characterized by the fact that only in this position, and therefore not in the home position of the front panel, is this manual gripping, especially reaching behind, by a user possible.
[0009] In the removal position, a first section of the front panel, on the side of a pivot axis around which the front panel can swivel, is designed to protrude through the opening in the housing. Simultaneously, in this removal position, a second section of the front panel, distinct from the first, is designed to protrude freely from the housing beyond the pivot axis. The pivot axis, provided by the swivel mechanism, serves as a virtual divider between the two sections. This specific position and orientation of the sections in the removal position creates a space-saving design. In this position, the front panel as a whole is not completely positioned in front of the opening, thus saving installation space. On the other hand, this concept also allows the pivot axis to remain stationary during swiveling. In particular, it can be positioned within the housing, either near the opening or, preferably, in the depth direction of the appliance. The pivot axis extends in a plane parallel to, or is itself, the opening. This also contributes to a space-saving design. Furthermore, the fact that the second section protrudes forward in the removal position allows for easy manual gripping by the user. This enables particularly easy and ergonomic removal of the container from the housing by directly grasping the front panel.
[0010] This results in a household appliance that offers a particularly simple solution for removing a container from its housing. Users can thus remove the container immediately, quickly, ergonomically, and easily. It is therefore no longer necessary to include a motor in the appliance to move the container into the removal position. This new concept eliminates unwanted waiting times for the user. Furthermore, this concept eliminates the need for a complex and cumbersome push-push mechanism. This minimalist design is therefore also very user-friendly and durable.
[0011] This positioning of the individual sections in the removal position allows the opening itself to guide the pivoting of the front panel from its home position into the removal position. By pivoting around the pivot axis, the first section swings into the housing, and the edges of the opening act as guides, thus minimizing unwanted misalignment or tilting during this movement.
[0012] In one embodiment, the front panel is a cover. This conceals the container body from the front in its fixed, unpivoted position. In particular, complete concealment or covering is achieved here. Thus, the container body is also protected by this front panel.
[0013] In one embodiment, the opening in the housing is completely covered by the front panel when the front panel is in its fixed, non-pivoting home position. Thus, in its home position, the front panel also serves as a cover for the opening. This prevents the unwanted ingress of dirt, such as dust or liquids, through the opening into the interior of the housing.
[0014] In this context, the front panel in its unrotated basic position also forms a visible component on the front.
[0015] In one embodiment, the container body, when positioned in the housing at its end position, remains stationary when the front panel is moved from its home position to the removal position. This design eliminates the need to move the container body from its retracted end position to a slightly extended removal position before the entire container can be removed. This is advantageous because it eliminates the need to move the larger and heavier container body from its end position, for example, by a motor or a push-push mechanism, to remove the container. This is also advantageous, as it means that no corresponding displacement forces are required for the container body and other components in order to move the container, which is in its final position in the housing, into a removal position.
[0016] In one embodiment, the front panel is arranged in a fixed, non-pivoting position with its front edge flush with the front edge of a wall of the appliance that defines the opening. This arrangement also creates a visually uniform appearance. Undesirable protrusions and thus corresponding edges or the like, which would result from a front panel projecting in its fixed position, are thereby avoided. Unwanted impact or soiling of such protruding edges is thus prevented.
[0017] In one embodiment, the first section is larger in area than the second. This is advantageous because a larger element is not required for the actual pivoting of the front panel from its home position, which is achieved by direct manual action of the user. This allows the second section to be proportionally larger. This is beneficial because the second section, which serves as the direct gripping element during removal, can be designed more functionally. This avoids cramped conditions or the need to grip with only one or two fingers. Not least, this asymmetrical sizing of the sections also ensures that, when the front panel is in the removal position, the second section cantilevers forward from the housing, allowing for unrestricted gripping. Because the pivot axis is arranged asymmetrically to the overall size of the front panel, a smaller swivel angle is sufficient to position this larger second section so that it protrudes far enough from the opening or the housing for an ergonomic and secure grip.
[0018] In one embodiment, the first sub-section is an upper sub-section when viewed in the vertical direction of the appliance. The second sub-section is preferably a lower sub-section in this context. Thus, in this embodiment, the pivot axis is oriented in the lateral direction and therefore in the horizontal direction of the appliance.
[0019] In one embodiment, the first section is designed as a push-button area, which can be pressed directly and manually by a user to move the front panel from a stationary home position to the removal position. This allows for quick and easy manual operation of the front panel. Therefore, moving it from the home position to a removal position is very simple and user-friendly.
[0020] In one embodiment, the pivoting device has at least one spring. This spring is preferably designed and arranged such that the front panel is held in its unpivoted home position. In particular, this means that the spring has a preload force in this home position of the front panel and is pre-tensioned accordingly, so that this home position is held more securely. This also prevents unwanted rattling or uncontrolled movement of the front panel. This pre-tensioned spring also allows the front panel to be held firmly in its home position.
[0021] The spring can be a leaf spring, a torsion spring, or a compression spring.
[0022] In one embodiment, the swivel device has a stop, in particular a mechanical stop, which limits the swivel range of the front panel. This also clearly defines the removal position. This stop is particularly advantageous because, starting from this removal position and when a user grasps the second part of the front panel, a corresponding force is transmitted to pull out the container without the front panel swiveling further beyond this position. This also achieves an advantageous mechanical force transmission principle for removing the container. This further supports particularly safe and ergonomic container removal.
[0023] In one embodiment, the front panel has a handle element on its rear side facing the container body. Specifically, this handle element is integrated into the front panel and thus formed integrally with it. In this context, a handle element is a geometrically and / or shape-specific part that supports gripping and makes it more ergonomic. This also means, in particular, that the mere edge of the second part is not to be understood as such a handle element. Specifically, a handle element can, for example, be a thickening of the front panel in a local area, especially compared to other areas of the front panel, particularly to the first part.Since the front panel is relatively thin, and an ergonomic handle element, advantageous for force transmission and removal, supports ergonomic operation, this is also a beneficial embodiment. An undesirably strong, localized pressure from an edge or other part of the front panel on a user's fingers without such a handle element can be unpleasant and is eliminated by this additional handle element. For example, a handle element can be a bead-like thickening whose surface facing the container body is smooth. This allows for particularly uniform and extensive contact of the spring's inner surface. Even when considerable force is applied to this handle element with the fingers during removal, there is no unpleasant tactile sensation on the fingers, in particular no local cutting or painful indentation.
[0024] In one embodiment, the swiveling device has a return element that allows the front panel to automatically return from a swiveled removal position to its unswiveled home position. The return element can, for example, be a spring. This spring can preferably also be the one that maintains the home position of the front panel. Thus, a simple mechanical component, namely the spring, achieves multifunctionality. This simple component makes it possible to combine the aforementioned functionalities without requiring, for example, motorized concepts and / or complex push-push mechanisms.
[0025] In one embodiment, the front panel is rigid. It can be formed in one piece. For example, the front panel can be made of plastic. It can, for example, be an injection-molded part.
[0026] It is possible that this front panel is mechanically coupled to a technical component of the container by means of a spring. The technical component and the front panel are separate components in this context. The technical component, which may be integrally formed within the container body or separate from it, provides a bearing element for the swivel mechanism. A counter-bearing element of the front panel is directly attached to this bearing element. For example, the bearing element may be rod-shaped. The counter-bearing element may be channel-shaped, for example, with a C-shaped cross-section. This allows for direct mechanical contact between the counter-bearing element and the bearing element, and also enables guided relative swiveling between the front panel and the technical component.Preferably, in this context, an edge of the counter bearing element can form part of the aforementioned stop for the front plate, which abuts a counter stop element that can be formed on the container body and / or the technical part, particularly when the removal position is reached.
[0027] In one embodiment, the movement of the front panel is motorless and initiated solely by manual operation of the front panel by a user. In particular, the movement of the front panel is achieved even without a push-push system. This means that, in one embodiment, the appliance, especially the container, is not equipped with either a motor or a push-push mechanism to move the container, which is in its retracted end position, to a removal position.
[0028] In this removal position, the container body remains in the final position in the proposed concept; only the front panel has been repositioned.
[0029] In one embodiment, the household appliance is a cooking appliance. It could, for example, be a steam cooker. The container is preferably a liquid container. In particular, it is designed for the addition of water. The liquid container can be part of a steam generation system of the cooking appliance.
[0030] Another aspect of the invention relates to a method for removing a container of a household appliance according to the above-mentioned aspect or an advantageous embodiment thereof from a housing of this household appliance, in particular comprising the following steps: - Actuating a front panel by a user manually pressing on, in particular a front, a first part of the front panel with an actuating force, so that the front panel is moved from an unpivoted basic position to a pivoted removal position by means of a pivoting device of the container, wherein the first part of the front panel is positioned projecting into the housing and a second part of the front panel is positioned cantilevering freely out of the housing; - Gripping the freely cantilevered second section of the front panel in the removal position; - Removing the container from the housing, in particular by pulling on the front panel.
[0031] In particular, the container body remains in its retracted end position when the front panel is moved from its home position to the removal position. Specifically, when the front panel is released, the transition from the removal position to the home position is carried out automatically. This can occur due to gravity. However, it is also possible that this return movement is carried out by a return element of the swiveling device. This allows the return movement to be dampened to a certain extent, preventing an undesirable, hard impact of the front panel in its home position.
[0032] This design allows the container to be filled even when the appliance, particularly a cooking appliance, is switched off, and emptied after switching it off. Additionally, this design reduces the amount of electronics required, as no extra control element is needed in the appliance's operating mechanism to activate the motor. Furthermore, this design offers advantages over a push-push system in terms of assembly, positioning, and movement tolerances. Specifically, smaller and minimized tolerances can be achieved in these areas, making this simple container removal system even more advantageous.
[0033] Exemplary embodiments of the invention are explained in more detail below with reference to schematic drawings. These show: Fig. 1 a schematic front view of an embodiment of a household appliance according to the invention; Fig. 2 a perspective partial view of components of the household appliance according to Fig. 1, where a container of the household appliance is shown in a final position arranged in the housing and a front panel is shown in a basic position; Fig. 3 a sectional view through a sub-area of the arrangement according to Fig. 2; Fig. 4 the sectional view according to Fig. 3, in comparison to Fig. 3 the front panel is arranged in a swiveled removal position; Fig. 5 a perspective view of the arrangement according to Fig. 2, in which, however, the front panel according to Fig. 4 is shown in the swiveled removal position; and Fig. 6 the order according to Fig. 5, compared to Fig. 5 shows the container partially pulled out of the housing.
[0034] In the figures, identical or functionally equivalent elements are given the same reference symbols.
[0035] In Fig. Figure 1 shows a schematic representation of a household appliance 1. This appliance is designed, for example, for preparing food. It can be a cooking appliance, specifically a steam cooker. The household appliance 1 has a housing 2. A cooking chamber 3 is formed within the housing 2. In the case of a cooking appliance, this cooking chamber 3 is the cooking chamber. Furthermore, the household appliance 1 has a door 4. This door 4 is arranged to close the cooking chamber 3 from the front. Specifically, it is pivotally mounted on the housing 2.
[0036] The household appliance 1 also has a container 5. In particular, the container 5 is a liquid container. It can be part of a steam generation system if the household appliance 1 is a steam cooker.
[0037] In Fig. Figure 2 shows a perspective view of an arrangement of subcomponents of the household appliance 1. In particular, the container 5 is shown in an end position arranged in the housing 2. The container 5 has a container body 6. The container body 6 is the component intended to hold the liquid.
[0038] Furthermore, the container 5 has a front panel 7. Viewed in the depth direction (z-direction) of the household appliance 1, the front panel 7 is a front-facing component of the container 5. As can be seen here, in this unpivoted basic position of the front panel 7, a front face 8 of the front panel 7 is preferably flush with a front face 9 of a wall 10 of the household appliance 1. The wall 10 is not part of the container 5. It can, for example, be a front panel. An opening 11 is formed in this wall 10. In this basic position of the front panel 7 shown, the opening 11 is completely covered by the front panel 7. In particular, in this basic position, the front panel 7 is oriented in a plane in which the wall 10 is also oriented.
[0039] In this basic position, front sides 8 and 9 are flush.
[0040] In Fig. 3 is a vertical section view of subcomponents of the arrangement in Fig. Figure 2 shows the section plane defined by the height direction (y-direction) and the depth direction of the household appliance 1.
[0041] As can be seen, the front panel 7 is pivotally mounted on the container body 6. In one embodiment, a technical component 12 may be provided. This technical component 12 can essentially act as an adapter between the front panel 7 and the container body 6. It is possible that this technical component 12 is formed separately from the container body 6. In this case, it can, for example, be attached to the container body 6 in a way that allows for non-destructive removal. However, it is also possible that this technical component 12 is permanently attached to the container body 6. Therefore, in this embodiment, it cannot be separated from the container body 6 without being destroyed. Alternatively, this technical component 12 may be manufactured integrally with the container body 6. For example, it could be a plastic component, such as an injection-molded part.In such a one-piece manufacturing process, it is therefore not necessary to connect the separate technical part 12 to the separate container body 6 by a detachable or non-detachable connection.
[0042] In the exemplary embodiment, the front panel 7 has a base part 7a. An additional part 7b is arranged on this base part in one exemplary embodiment. The additional part 7b can, for example, also be a design element such as a glass plate or a metal plate, or the like. The base part 7a is designed for direct coupling with the container body 6, in particular with the technical part 12, which is preferably present here. It is also possible for the base part 7a and the additional part 7b to be formed in one piece.
[0043] This front panel 7 is pivotally mounted on the container body 6, here the technical part 12, by means of a pivoting device 13. A bearing element 14 is provided for this purpose. This can be rod-like or pin-like. The longitudinal axis of this bearing element 14 is oriented perpendicular to the plane of the figure and thus, in this embodiment, in the width direction (x-direction) of the household appliance 1. A counter-bearing element 15 of the front panel 7 is directly mounted on this bearing element 14. Furthermore, a spring 16 is provided in this embodiment. In particular, this spring 16 holds the front panel 7 on the container body 6, here the technical part 12. In one embodiment, this can supplement the coupling between the bearing element 14 and the counter-bearing element 15. In another embodiment, the holding can be achieved solely by this spring 16. In particular, this spring 16 holds the front panel 7 on the container body 6, here the technical part 12. Fig. 2 and Fig. Figure 3 shows the front panel 7 in its unpivoted, neutral position. In this embodiment, the spring 16 is pre-tensioned to maintain this neutral position of the front panel 7. Specifically, in this embodiment, the front panel 7 is pressed into this vertical position by this pre-tensioned spring 16.
[0044] As in Fig. 2 and Fig. As can be seen in Figure 3, this front plate 7 in its basic position also acts as a cover, completely concealing the container body 6 from the front. As can be seen here, this pivoting device 13, and in particular the bearing element 14, forms a pivot axis A, which is perpendicular to the plane of the figure. Fig. The front plate 7 is oriented around this pivot axis A relative to the container body 6, and also relative to the technical part 12.
[0045] With regard to the vertical extent of the front panel 7, the pivot axis A is arranged asymmetrically. This means that, viewed vertically, a first section 17 of the front panel 7 is formed above this pivot axis A, and a second section 18 of the front panel 7 is formed below the pivot axis A. As can be seen, the first section 17 is located on this side of the pivot axis A, and the larger and lower second section 18 is located on the other side of the pivot axis A.
[0046] In one embodiment, a grip element 20 can be provided on a rear side 19 of the front panel 7. This is a locally shaped thickening in the depth direction. This allows for improved gripping of the front panel 7 in this second sub-area 18 with the fingers of one hand, and facilitates the operation of the front panel 7 and, in particular, the removal of the entire container 5 from the Fig. The inserted end position shown in point 2 is user-friendly and ergonomic.
[0047] As can be seen, this handle element 20 has a bead-like shape. The cross-section also shows a corner-free contact surface 21 of the handle element 20, against which a user's fingers can rest.
[0048] As furthermore in Fig. As can also be seen in Figure 3, the swivel device 13 has a stop. This stop limits the swivel range of the front panel 7. This stop has a stop element 22 ( Fig. 4) on. This is integrated here in the container body 6 or in the technical part 12. In addition, a counter-stop element 23 ( Fig. 3) formed. This is preferably integrated into the counter bearing element 15.
[0049] Is the front panel 7 removed from the one in Fig. When swung out from the unpivoted basic position shown in 3, it reaches the position shown in Fig. 4 shows the pivoted removal position. In this position, the stop element 22 is in contact with the counter-stop element 23. As can be seen here, there is a pivot angle between the basic position according to Fig. 3 and the withdrawal position according to Fig. 4 less than 60°, especially between 30° and 60°.
[0050] In Fig. 4 is a vertical section view accordingly Fig. Figure 3 shows the front panel 7 in the pivoted removal position. In one embodiment, it is possible that the return of the front panel 7 to its home position is achieved solely by weight force when a user moves the front panel 7 into Fig. 4 releases. However, it is also possible that the return of the front panel 7 from the removal position to the home position is carried out or supported by a return element. This could, for example, be a spring. In particular, this could be spring 16.
[0051] As already shown in the descriptions of Fig. 3 and Fig. As can be seen and explained in section 4, the entire movement of the front panel 7 is motorless and / or without a push-push mechanism. In particular, this simple concept, with the front panel 7 and the swivel device 13, means that the container body 6 is no longer moved from the front panel 7 to the swivel device 13 by a motor. Fig. 2 and Fig. The container body 6, shown in Figure 3, can or must be moved from its inserted end position to an intermediate extension position in order to be removed from the housing 2 in this intermediate extension position. Rather, the new concept eliminates the need for the container body 6 itself to be moved from the end position to an intermediate removal position before it can actually be removed from the housing 2. With the proposed concept featuring the pivotally mounted front panel 7, the container body 6 can therefore remain in its inserted end position without exception when the front panel 7 is moved from its home position to the removal position. Starting from the position shown in Figure 3, the container body 6 can remain in its inserted end position without exception when the front panel 7 is moved from its home position to the removal position. Fig. 4 shown removal position of the front panel 7, which is in Fig. If container 5 is shown in perspective, a user can then remove container 5 as shown in the illustration according to Fig. 6 is shown. There, in contrast to the Fig. 5 already indicates a slight pulling out of the container 5 from the housing 2. To do this, a user grasped the front panel 7 in the second section, in particular grasping the lower edge and reaching behind it, directly touching the handle element 20 and pulling the container 5 out in a downward direction.
[0052] Based on the Fig. The basic position shown in section 3 can be moved by simply pressing directly on the front of the first sub-area 17 to the front panel 7. Fig. The extraction position shown in section 4 can be swivelled.
[0053] As in Fig. As can be seen in Figure 5, in this removal position, the first section 17 is pivoted into the housing 2 relative to the opening 11. The second section 18, in contrast, is pivoted forward out of the housing 2 relative to the opening 11. It projects freely downwards at an angle. In this context, the first section 17 is also a push-button area, intended for use by a user to manually move it from the home position to the removal position. Therefore, if an actuating force is applied locally to the first section 17, the front panel 7 is pivoted out of its home position by the pivoting mechanism 13, and the...
