Description

[0001] The present invention relates to a side panel for a roller shutter box and a box comprising such a box. Boxes for accommodating a shading element are also called roller shutter boxes, although other shading elements, such as venetian blinds or textile shading elements (textile screens), can also be accommodated instead of a roller shutter.

[0002] Roller shutter boxes are used to house and protect shading elements, such as roller shutters. The final product should provide aesthetic appeal to both the exterior and interior. The box houses the shading element. Proper installation of the shading element plays a crucial role in its performance and durability.

[0003] Even though there are different shading systems, they all have in common that they have a retracted state in which the shading element is completely or essentially completely inside the box, and an extended state in which the shading element is largely located outside the box and shades a window or door located below the box.

[0004] When retracted, the shading element typically extends the entire length of the box, so it is mounted on the box's end panels. The end panels of the box are formed by a side panel. For roller shutters or fabric screens, for example, it is also important to consider that the roller shutter or fabric screen must be able to rotate around a shaft while attached to the side panels of the roller shutter box.

[0005] Particularly with rotating shafts, but also with other shading systems, it is therefore essential that the shading element is attached to the side parts in such a way that the shading system is, on the one hand, aligned exactly horizontally and, on the other hand, is arranged on both side parts at exactly the same distance from the element to be shaded, such as a window or a door.

[0006] Some roller shutter boxes have a shaft mount on both sides of the box. Therefore, considerable effort is required when installing the roller shutter box to ensure it is perfectly aligned. Mistakes during installation can lead to malfunctions of the shading element.

[0007] It is also known to equip the bracket in the side elements with a fastening element designed as a slotted hole, which then allows the end faces of the shading element to be adjusted along the orientation of the slotted hole even after the roller shutter box has been installed. However, the adjustment can only be made along the orientation of the slotted hole.

[0008] Based on the described prior art, it is therefore the object of the present invention to provide a side part or a box with such side parts, which allows a simple alignment of the shading element even if the roller shutter box and / or the element to be shaded are not properly aligned with each other.

[0009] According to the invention, this object is achieved by a side part for a box for receiving a shading element, such as a roller shutter, wherein the side part has a first and a second main surface and an edge surface connecting the first and the second main surface, wherein the first side surface has a plurality of fastening elements for the shading element or for an adapter piece that can be fastened to the shading element, which are arranged such that the shading element can be fastened to the first side surface at various spaced-apart positions.

[0010] When installing the shading element on the side panel, the user has a variety of positions to choose from for attaching the shading element relative to the side panel. This allows the user to select the fastening element that best suits their individual installation situation, thereby reducing misalignments due to incorrect installation of the window or door and / or frame.

[0011] The shading element can, for example, have a shaft, as is the case with roller shutters and fabric screens but not with venetian blinds. In this case, the shaft is held on both sides by a side panel of the box, so the fastening elements should be designed to accommodate the shaft. Alternatively, the adapter piece could also be designed to accommodate the shaft.

[0012] In a preferred embodiment, the first side surface has at least three, preferably at least ten and particularly preferably at least 20 fastening elements.

[0013] The large number of fastening elements provided increases the variability of the fastening options for the shading element on the side part.

[0014] The side panel can be integrated into a roller shutter box or even formed as a single piece. Alternatively, the side panel can also be provided as a separate part and installed, for example, into existing roller shutter boxes.

[0015] In a further particularly preferred embodiment, it is provided that the second side surface also has a plurality of fastening elements for the shading element or for an adapter piece that can be fastened to the shading element, which are arranged such that the shading element can be fastened to the second side surface at different, spaced-apart positions, wherein preferably the second side surface has at least three, particularly preferably at least ten and most preferably at least 20 fastening elements.

[0016] This measure has the advantage of reducing the storage of side panels, as the side panel can be used selectively on either end face of a box. Two identical side panels can then be used, with the shading element being attached to the first side face of one side panel and to the second side face of the other side panel. Therefore, it is also advantageous if the number of fastening elements on the first and second side faces is the same. However, a box is also conceivable in which only one side panel has the plurality of fastening options according to the invention.

[0017] In a further preferred embodiment, it is provided that the fastening elements are arranged in rows and columns on the first side surface in such a way that they are spaced from one another by the distance a in the column direction and by the distance b in the row direction, wherein preferably a = b.

[0018] This measure allows the shading element to be moved by approximately the same distance in all directions to improve the installation position.

[0019] The fastening elements can, for example, be recesses or projections. In a preferred embodiment, the fastening elements are formed by recesses in the side part, in which case the adapter piece or the shading element or the shaft of the shading element should have a corresponding projection that fits into the provided recesses.

[0020] In a further preferred embodiment, the fastening elements have a circular, oval, triangular, rectangular, or square cross-section in a sectional view parallel to the first side surface. In practice, square and rectangular cross-sections have proven particularly practical. Circular cross-sections do have the advantage that they can be most easily connected to a corresponding shading element, since the corresponding repositioning of the shading element is not important. However, this can lead to undesirable relative rotational movements between the side part on the one hand and the shading element on the other. This is better solved with non-circular cross-sections.

[0021] In a preferred embodiment, an adapter piece is provided, which has a connection side with a receptacle for the shading element and an opposite fastening side, wherein the fastening side has at least one fastening element corresponding to the fastening elements of the first side surface. The adapter piece has the advantage that it can be individually adapted on the connection side to the shading element to be accommodated, and thus the same side part can be used even if the shading element does not have fastening elements corresponding to the fastening elements of the side part.

[0022] For example, the fastening elements of the first side can be formed by recesses, and the at least one fastening element of the adapter piece can be formed by a projection that is designed such that it can engage in the recess of the side part and is thereby held thereto. It is advantageous if the adapter piece has several projections that are spaced apart from one another such that they can simultaneously engage in several recesses of the first side.

[0023] This measure allows the fastening elements to be made significantly smaller, reducing the distance between the individual fastening elements and thus the pitch at which the shading element can be adjusted relative to the side panel. However, since the projections may then become so small that they are no longer able to hold the shading element for structural reasons alone, several corresponding projections are provided, which simultaneously engage several corresponding recesses, so that the overall bracket meets the structural requirements.

[0024] In addition, the recesses of the first side and the at least one projection of the adapter piece can advantageously have a circular and a square cross-section. Other cross-sections are also conceivable.

[0025] In a further preferred embodiment, the adapter piece has a chamber with chamber walls accessible from the connection side, in which a wheel with a central recess is arranged such that the wheel can be rotated relative to the chamber walls about the central recess. The central recess then forms the fastening element for the shading element.

[0026] In an alternative embodiment, the object mentioned at the outset is achieved by a side part for a box for receiving a shading element, such as a roller shutter, wherein the side part has a first and a second main surface, as well as an edge surface connecting the first and the second main surface, wherein the first main surface has at least one fastening element, wherein an adapter piece is provided which has a connection side with a receptacle for the shading element and an opposite fastening side, wherein the fastening side has a plurality of fastening elements which also correspond to at least one fastening element of the first side surface. For example, the side part could have only one projection, while the adapter piece has a plurality of recesses, so that the desired adjustment of the shading element within the box can be achieved by selecting the corresponding recess provided in the adapter piece.

[0027] It is also possible to equip the fastening elements with corresponding locking lugs, which interact in such a way that, as soon as the corresponding fastening elements of the side part on the one hand and the shading element or adapter piece on the other hand are pushed into each other, they prevent them from coming loose.

[0028] The present invention additionally relates to a box for receiving a shading element, wherein the box is approximately cuboid-shaped and the end faces of the box are formed by side parts as described.

[0029] Further advantages, features, and possible applications of the present invention will become clear from the following description of preferred embodiments and the accompanying figures. They show: Fig. 1a to 1c show a first embodiment of a side part according to the invention, Fig. 2a to 2c show a further embodiment of a side part according to the invention, Fig. 3a and Fig. 3B is a sectional view of a first embodiment of a box according to the invention with a side part corresponding to the Fig. 2a to 2c and Fig. 4 a sectional view of a second embodiment of the invention of a box with a side part corresponding to the Fig. 1a to 1c.

[0030] In Fig. Figure 1a shows a perspective view of a first embodiment of a side panel 1. The first side surface 2 is visible, which has a plurality of fastening elements 4, 5 arranged in columns and spaced apart from one another and formed as a recess. The second side (not shown) is constructed in the same way, so that the side panel can be used on both the left and right end faces of a roller shutter box.

[0031] Furthermore, an adapter piece 3 is provided, which is inserted into the Fig. 1b and Fig. 1c is shown separately in different views. The adapter piece has a connection side, which is Fig. 1b. On this side, the adapter piece has a chamber 7 in which a wheel 8 with a central recess 9 is held movably, ie, rotatably about the central recess 9.

[0032] The fastening side of the adapter piece 3 is in Fig. 1c. In the example shown, the adapter piece has four fastening elements 6 designed as projections, which have a rectangular cross-section. In this embodiment, the fastening elements 4, 5 on the first side 2 are designed as recesses, which are also rectangular. There are columns with recesses 4 in which the rectangular cross-section is arranged horizontally, while there are other columns with recesses 5 in which the rectangular cross-section is arranged vertically. This means that, depending on the orientation of the adapter piece 3, it can only be inserted into certain recesses 4, 5 of the side part.

[0033] Other fastening elements are then ruled out due to the orientation of the adapter piece. For example, the thickness of the rolled-up roller shutter curtain may require the shaft to be attached at a different position in the roller shutter box and thus at a different position on the side panel. To simplify installation for the user, orientation markings 10 are already applied to the adapter piece. These help the user determine the orientation in which the adapter piece should be attached to the side panel, thus eliminating unsuitable positions from the outset.

[0034] In the Fig. Figures 2a to 2c show a second embodiment of the invention. The side part 11 has a first side 12 and an opposite second side 15. Here, a plurality of fastening elements 14 formed as recesses are arranged in a network.

[0035] Also provided is an adapter piece 13, which is designed similarly to the adapter piece 3 of the first embodiment, i.e., with a rotatably mounted wheel. Even if the fastening side of the adapter piece 13 is not shown in the figures, it is clear that corresponding fastening elements, designed as projections, must be provided on this side, which correspond to the recesses 14. For example, a total of 25 (5 × 5) square projections could be provided. In this embodiment, the orientation of the adapter piece 13 does not determine the selection of specific fastening positions.

[0036] In the Fig. 3a and Fig. Figure 3b shows two sectional views of a first embodiment of a roller shutter box with a side part. The fastening elements 24 formed as recesses correspond to those shown in the Fig. 2a to 2c. These are arranged on the first side 21. Here, too, an adapter piece 23 is provided, which is designed on the fastening side (not shown) in the same way as in the embodiment of the Fig. 2a to 2c. However, the connection side is designed differently here and adapted to a specific shading element. The adapter piece can thus be individually adapted to the shading element to be attached without having to modify the side panel.

[0037] In Fig. 4 shows a fourth embodiment in which the side part is made up of the Fig. The side part known from 1a to 1c has been used.
