Abstract

The invention relates to a bullet-resistant plate assembly (40) comprising at least one first and one second bullet-resistant plate (01; 10), each having a bullet-resistant side (01a; 10a) and a protective side (01b; 10b). The plate assembly also includes a first and a second coupling mat (02; 11) made of hook-and-loop fastener material, wherein one of the two coupling mats is adhesively bonded to the protective side of one of the two bullet-resistant plates and the other of the two coupling mats is adhesively bonded to the bullet-resistant side of the other of the two plates. The two bullet-resistant plates (01; 10) are connected to each other over their entire surface by a hook-and-loop fastener formed between the two coupling mats (02; 11). The invention further relates to a bullet-resistant protective vest (50) for personal protection against acts of violence, wherein the protective vest comprises such a bullet-resistant plate assembly (40).
