Description

[0001] The invention relates to a putting training device for practicing putting and a putter with at least one putter head, at least one putter shaft, at least one putter grip and at least one putting training device.

[0002] Putting training devices and putters with at least one such device are known in the prior art. These devices are used to train putting in golf. Various approaches are known, focusing on the correct alignment of the putter head with the golf ball and thus improving aim, and on the correct pendulum motion during putting, as disclosed, for example, in CN 101 342 419 A. In the device disclosed in this publication, a golf ball hangs from a thread or chain of the training device, with a magnet positioned below the hanging golf ball. The construction of this training device is relatively complex.

[0003] Another way to practice the correct swing is known from US 5 895 328 A, whereby centrifugal forces generated by the swing are measured using the swing training device disclosed therein.

[0004] Various types of training devices for improving aim are known, for example, from WO 2018 / 069 695 A1, US 2019 / 0269991 A1, US 9 943 743 B1, US 4 167 268 A, US 4 174 838 A, US 4 953 867 A, and US 5 509 657 A. In some cases, a camera is used, as disclosed in US 8 608 595 B2. The use of a magnifying device is also known in the prior art, as from the aforementioned WO 2018 / 069 695 A1. All of the aforementioned training devices are attached to the putter shaft. All of the aforementioned training devices are relatively complex in design and some are not easy to use.

[0005] Another training device known from the prior art is disclosed in US 5,725,441 A. According to this prior art, an additional golf ball is positioned in a recess on the putter head. The ball positioned on the putter wobbles, rolls, or is knocked out of the recess when the putting stroke is accelerated or decelerated too quickly. However, this solution proves to be disadvantageous because a putter specifically designed for training must be purchased. Retrofitting an existing putter suitable for both regular play and training is not possible with this prior art solution.

[0006] The present invention therefore aims to provide a putting training device for practicing putting and a putter with such a device, which can be manufactured more cost-effectively than the prior art solutions and can be retrofitted to an existing putter, and which makes it possible to train a correct pendulum motion when putting and an optimal rhythm.

[0007] The problem is solved for a putting training device for training a putting stroke according to claim 1 in that the putting training device comprises at least one support device with at least one trough-like support surface for placing a rollable object on it and at least one fastening device for releasably fastening the putting training device to a putter shaft of a putter, as well as at least one angle adjustment device for adjusting the angle of inclination of the at least one support device relative to the at least one fastening device, wherein the angle adjustment device is arranged between the at least one support device and the at least one fastening device. For a putter according to the preamble of claim 10, the problem is solved in that the putting training device is at least such a putting training device that is detachably attached to the putter shaft of the putter by means of at least one fastening device and whose angle of inclination relative to the putter shaft is adjustable by means of at least one angle adjustment device. Further developments of the invention are defined in the dependent claims.

[0008] This creates a putting training device that can be easily attached to an existing putter using at least one mounting point. Therefore, it is not necessary to purchase a separate training putter. The at least one recessed support surface, on which a wheeled object such as a golf ball can be placed, allows for the training of a correct pendulum motion during putting and thus an optimal rhythm. The angle of the support for the wheeled object can be individually adjusted to suit the specific putter. Putters from different manufacturers have different angles of inclination between the shaft and the head. The putter training device can be quickly adjusted to different angles of inclination by changing the angle of inclination of at least one support element relative to at least one mounting element. The support element, with its at least one recessed surface for placing a wheeled object, can therefore be positioned approximately horizontally in a basic position during both play and training, after the putter training device is attached to the putter shaft. Furthermore, putter shafts can be of different lengths for people of different heights and, consequently, exhibit different angles of inclination relative to a vertical or horizontal plane during play and training.Adapting to these different angles of inclination can also be easily achieved by changing the angle of inclination of at least one support device relative to at least one fastening device.

[0009] The putting training device can be attached to an existing putter in a user-defined position on the putter shaft using at least one mounting point. This allows the putting training device to be attached to the existing putter for putting practice. For regular play, the putting training device can also be easily removed from the putter. This proves to be a significant advantage, especially compared to the specially designed training putter according to US 5,725,441 A.

[0010] A wheeled object, such as a golf ball, is placed on the at least one recessed support surface of the at least one support device of the putting training device. The at least one support device can be adjusted and fixed at the desired angle using the at least one angle adjustment device. If the putting stroke is performed too quickly or if there is an abrupt stop, the wheeled object, especially the golf ball, falls off the recessed support surface of the at least one support device of the putting training device. This allows the person practicing putting, or the golfer, to immediately notice errors in the putting stroke and thus optimize the stroke and rhythm.

[0011] The advantage lies in the fact that at least one support device and at least one mounting device are connected to each other via at least one angle adjustment mechanism. This makes it possible to use very few components, thus optimizing the number of components in the putting training device. This allows for the creation of a simple yet highly effective and individually adjustable putting training device.

[0012] Advantageously, the at least one fastening device can comprise at least one clamping device with at least two clamping jaws, in particular rounded clamping jaws, for clamping around the shaft of a putter to which the putting training device is attached or is attached. By providing such a clamping device, which optimally wraps around and clamps around the putter shaft, quick and easy attachment to the putter shaft is possible, as is quick and easy removal. Of course, instead of a clamping device, and especially instead of the clamping device described above, any other type of fastening device can also be provided for attaching or removing the device.Detachable attachment of the putting training device to the putter shaft of a putter that is to be fitted with it.

[0013] The at least one support element of the putting training device can be polygonal in plan view, in particular rectangular. The at least one trough-like support surface of the at least one support element can furthermore be substantially uniformly rounded. By providing the substantially uniformly rounded trough-like support surface, it is possible to allow the rolling object placed upon it, for example a golf ball, to roll smoothly in all directions. When such a trough-like support surface of the at least one support element is combined with a polygonal design of the support element in plan view, the corners of the support element retain flattened corner areas, which thus have no rounding on the upper surface. In the side sections between the corners of the polygonal support device, the trough-like support surface can extend to the edge of the device. This makes it possible to design the side sections, where the rolling object, for example, a golf ball, could fall out of the trough-like support surface, to be lower than the corner sections. The corner sections of the support device are thus advantageously higher than the side sections between them, so that errors in the pendulum motion during putting directly cause the rolling object to roll off and fall out of these lower side sections between the corners of the support device.Since the side sections of the support device are positioned above the putter head and approximately parallel to the front of the putter shaft after the putting training device is mounted, the correct stroke and thus the correct pendulum motion can be practiced with the putting training device. A rhythmic pendulum motion of the putter ensures that, during both the backward and forward strokes, the rolling object, in particular a golf ball, remains on at least one of the recessed support surfaces of the putting training device. However, during a non-rhythmic pendulum motion, the moment of inertia of the rolling object causes it to fall off the support surface of the putting training device.

[0014] Advantageously, the at least one support device and the at least one fastening device can each have at least one joint section for forming a joint between the at least one support device and the at least one fastening device for articulated connection of the at least one support device to the at least one fastening device. The at least one angle adjustment device can further advantageously be arranged in the area of the joint or in the joint formed by the at least one support device and the at least one fastening device. In particular, the at least one angle adjustment device can include a bolt or pin as the axis of rotation of the joint. It is therefore possible to provide only one support device and one fastening device, each having at least one joint section, wherein the joint sections of the support device and the fastening device interlock in such a way that a joint is formed, the axis of rotation of which is formed by a bolt or pin of the at least one angle adjustment device. In particular, the angle adjustment device can form the axis of rotation of the joint formed by the support device and the fastening device. The number of components of the putting training device can thus be further optimized. The putting training device is therefore advantageously not prone to errors, can be easily handled and, compared to state-of-the-art solutions, can be manufactured cost-effectively due to the very few components and can at the same time be optimally individually adapted to a person using the putting training device and their putter.

[0015] Advantageously, at least one contact surface of the support device can be provided with at least one alignment mark, in particular at least one slot-shaped alignment mark, for aligning the putting training device parallel to the putter head of a putter to which the putting training device is attached or is attached. In particular, the at least one alignment mark can be arranged along a longitudinal axis of the putting training device. This makes it possible to position the putting training device precisely aligned above the putter head of the putter to which the putting training device is attached, or aligned with its longitudinal axis and / or parallel to its front face. Correct alignment of the support device with respect to the putter head allows for the optimization of training conditions with regard to both the putting training device and the putter.

[0016] The putting training device can be positioned at a distance from the putter head on the putter shaft, particularly at approximately halfway along the shaft. This positioning allows for optimal training because, on the one hand, the putting training device does not obstruct the view of the putter head, and on the other hand, it does not interfere with gripping the putter handle.

[0017] To explain the invention in more detail, an embodiment thereof will be described below with reference to the drawings. These show: Fig. 1 a perspective view of a putter with putter head, putter shaft and putter grip and the putting training device according to the invention arranged on its putter shaft, Fig. 2 a detailed view of the putting training device according to the invention Fig. 1, Fig. 3 a side view of a putting training device according to the invention Fig. 2 provided putters, wherein a golf ball is arranged on a trough-like support surface of a support device of the putting training device, and Fig. 4. A side view of the putter with putting training device attached to the putter shaft according to Fig. 4 indicating the adjustability of the inclination angle of the support device of the putting training device relative to its fastening device and the putter shaft of the putter.

[0018] The Fig. 1, Fig. 3 and Fig. Figure 4 shows a putter 1 with a putter head 10, a putter shaft 11, and a putter grip 12. A putting training device 2 is arranged on the putter shaft 11 of the putter 1. As shown in particular by the Fig. 3 and Fig. As can be seen from Figure 4, it is positioned approximately halfway along the length L of the putter shaft 11 and attached to it. Of course, it can also be positioned at a different location along the putter shaft 11. However, positioning it approximately halfway along the length L of the putter shaft 11 proves to be the optimal position for practicing putting with the putting training device 2, because the golfer can still see the putter head 10 very well despite the putting training device 2 being attached to the putter shaft 11, and gripping the putter handle 12 remains easily possible.

[0019] The putting training device 2 is described in detail in Fig. Figure 2 shows the assembly. This assembly comprises a support device 20, a fastening device 21, and an angle adjustment device 22. The angle adjustment device 22 serves to change the angle of inclination β of the support device 20 relative to the fastening device 21 and, after the putting training device 2 has been attached to the putter shaft 11 by means of the fastening device 21, also relative to the putter shaft 11. This makes it possible to achieve a horizontal alignment in space, indicated by the horizontal line w in Figure 2. Fig. 4, to be able to adjust the support device 20 of the putting training device 2. The angle of inclination β is set between the underside 218 of the support device 20 and a longitudinal axis A. 21 measured at the fastening device 21. Since the fastening device 21 is attached to the putter shaft 11 of the putter 1 and its longitudinal axis A 21 then along the longitudinal axis A 11The support device 20 extends along the putter shaft 11 and is also aligned with the longitudinal axis A after the putting training device 2 has been attached to the putter shaft 11 of the putter 1. 11 the putter shaft 11 is inclined at the angle of inclination β.

[0020] Furthermore, the putter head 10 and putter shaft 11 incorporate a tilt angle α. This angle can vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. Even when the putter shaft length 11 is adjusted to the height of a person or golfer, it still varies from one putter 1 to another, and is therefore also dependent on the length L of the putter shaft 11. This variance in the tilt of the putter shaft 11 is in Fig. 4 indicated by the double arrow P1.

[0021] The angle adjustment device 22 of the putting training device 2 makes it possible to compensate for different angles of inclination α between the putter head 10, in particular measured at its lower support surface 13, and the putter shaft 11 by adjusting the angle of inclination β between the support device 20 and the mounting device 21 of the putting training device 2, in order to always ensure an approximately horizontal orientation of the support device 20 in space in the operating position, i.e., the normal playing and training position of the putter 1. In such a horizontal orientation in space, a rollable object 3, e.g., a golf ball, as used in Fig. As indicated in Figure 3, the support 20 should not roll off the support. The support 20 of the putting training device 2 can therefore be aligned approximately horizontally in a normal playing and training position, depending on the surface, in an orientation approximately parallel to the lower support surface 13 of the putter head 10, and thus, when the lower support surface 13 of the putter head 10 rests on a ground surface, also parallel to the ground surface. The support 20 is thus aligned approximately parallel to the lower support surface 13 of the putter head 10.

[0022] As already mentioned, the adjustment of the inclination angle β of the support device 20 relative to the mounting device 21 of the putting training device 2 can be carried out by means of the angle adjustment device 22. As shown in Fig. As can be seen from the embodiment of the putting training device 2 shown in Figure 2, the angle adjustment device 22 comprises a threaded bolt 122 and an actuating wheel 222, wherein the threaded bolt 122 is arranged as the pivot axis of a joint 23 between the support device 20 and the mounting device 21 of the putting training device 2. The support device 21 has a joint section 24 and the mounting device 22 has a joint section 25. The joint section 24 of the support device 21 is U-shaped and receives the joint section 25 of the mounting device 22 between its two legs 124, 224, as shown. Fig. 2 is very easy to see. The two legs 124, 224 of the U-shaped joint section 24 of the support device 20 and the joint section 25 of the fastening device 22 each have a through opening 26. The through openings 26 have in the Fig. In the embodiment shown in Figure 2, each component further has an internal thread that can engage with, or engages with, the external thread of the threaded bolt 122. The joint sections 24 and 25 of the support device 20 and the fastening device 21 thus engage with each other, with their through-openings 26 being aligned with each other. The threaded bolt 122 of the angle adjustment device 22 is inserted into the through-openings 26, which are positioned in alignment with each other. The threaded bolt 122 can be rotated by engaging the actuating wheel 222. The actuating wheel 222 has, in the figure shown in Figure 2, a threaded through-opening 26. Fig. In the embodiment shown in Figure 2, an external profile or ribbing is provided to enable a non-slip grip. An inclination angle β set between the support device 20 and the fastening device 21 can be fixed by gripping the actuating wheel 222 and turning the threaded bolt 122.

[0023] Through the in Fig. The putting training device 2, as shown in Figure 2, comprises only a very few components in the design of the joint 23 by the two joint sections 24, 25 of the support device 20 and the fastening device 21, and the design of the angle adjustment device 22 by the threaded bolt 122 engaging in the through-openings 26 in the joint sections 24, 25. However, the support device 20, the fastening device 21, and the angle adjustment device 22 can also be designed differently to allow a hinged connection between the support device 20 and the fastening device 21 and adjustment of the inclination angle β between them by means of the angle adjustment device 22. Adjusting the inclination angle β is described in Figure 2. Fig. 4 indicated by the double arrow P2.

[0024] The fastening device 21 of the putting training device 2 is designed as a clamping device in the embodiment shown in the figures. It has two rounded clamping jaws 121, 221, a bracket 321 and an actuating tab 421, as shown in particular. Fig. 2. The two clamping jaws 121, 221 are pivotally attached to a central piece 521 of the fastening device 21. The central piece 521 is formed integrally with the hinge section 25. The bracket 321 and the actuating tab 421 are also pivotally attached to the two clamping jaws 121, 221, with the actuating tab 421 also pivotally connected to the bracket 321. The two rounded clamping jaws 121, 221 can be arranged to grip the putter shaft 11 on its outer surface 14, and by pivoting the actuating tab 421 and the bracket 321 connected to it, the putting training device 2 can be locked into a detent position (see Figure 2). Fig. 1) clamped to the putter shaft 11 of the putter 1. The clamping attachment can be opened by pivoting back the actuating tab 421 and the bracket 321 of the fastening device 21 connected to it. Instead of being designed as a clamping device, the fastening device 21 can also be designed in another way. Even when designed as a clamping device, a different configuration of such a clamping device can be provided.

[0025] The support device 20 of the putting training device 2 is polygonal in plan view, here rectangular. It has four corner regions 201, 202, 203, 204 and between each pair of corner regions a side section 205, 206, 207, 208. The support device 20 also has a trough-like support surface 200 on its upper surface 209, on which the rollable object 3, such as a golf ball, can be placed, see figure. Fig. 3. The trough-shaped support surface 200 is essentially uniformly rounded and extends to the side sections 205, 206, 207, 208. The corner areas 201, 202, 203, 204 are flattened on their respective upper surfaces 210, as can also be seen in the figures, in particular Fig. 2. The trough-shaped support surface 200 thus extends only to the corner areas 201, 202, 203, 204, but not into them. As a result, the support device 20 has a greater height h in the corner areas 201, 202, 203, 204 than in the side sections 205, 206, 207, 208 located between them, as can be seen particularly well. Fig. 2 and Fig. 4 can be seen. Approximately in the middle of its width b, each side segment 205, 206, 207, 208 has its lowest height h. min up, like Fig. 2 can also be seen.

[0026] The trough-shaped support surface 200 thus extends in the side sections 205, 206, 207, 208, located between the corner areas 201, 202, 203, 204 of the rectangular support device 20 shown in plan view, up to the edge 214 of the support device 20. It is precisely in these side areas 205, 206, 207, 208 that the rollable object 3, such as a golf ball, can fall out of the trough-shaped support surface 200 during a non-rhythmic pendulum motion of the putter 1 due to the moment of inertia of the rollable object 3, whereas the rollable object 3, such as a golf ball, does not leave the trough-shaped support surface 200 of the support device 20 of the putting training device 2 during a rhythmic pendulum motion of the putter 1 in both the backward and forward motion.Errors in the pendulum motion during putting thus directly lead to the rollable object 3 rolling off and falling from the lower side sections 205, 206, 207, 208 between the corner sections of the support device 20 compared to the corner sections 201, 202, 203, 204. Such errors are therefore immediately and directly recognizable.

[0027] The trough-shaped support surface 200 of the support device 20 can be uniformly rounded, i.e., shaped like a bowl with a constant radius of curvature R at every point. It is also possible to provide at least one area of the trough-shaped support surface 200 of the support device 20 with a different radius of curvature R, as shown in the example. Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 is indicated for the innermost area 216 of the trough-like support surface 200. This allows control over the type of pendulum movement at which the rollable object 3 remains on the trough-like support surface 200 and from which point it rolls out uncontrollably, such as after leaving the innermost area 216, which has a different radius of curvature R than the rest of the trough-like support surface 200 and thus initially prevents the rollable object 3 from rolling to the edge of the trough-like support surface 200.

[0028] How Fig. As can be seen further in Figure 2, the trough-shaped support surface 200 is also provided with a slot-shaped alignment mark 215. This extends along the longitudinal axis A. 20 or central axis of the support device 20. The threaded bolt 122 of the angle adjustment device 22, on the other hand, extends approximately perpendicular to the longitudinal axis A. 20 the support device 20, while the longitudinal axis A20 or the central axis of the support device 20 extends approximately through the center of the joint 23 of the putting training device 2 and thus through the center of the two joint sections 24, 25 of the support device 20 and the fastening device 21. The slot-shaped alignment mark 215 makes it possible to align the longitudinal axis A 20 The putting training device 2 is to be aligned parallel to the front face 15 of the putter head 10. The front face 15 of the putter head 10 is used to strike a golf ball during putting. Since the rollable object 3 should only roll off the trough-shaped support surface 200 if the pendulum motion of the putter 1 is not executed correctly or rhythmically, the precise alignment of the putting training device 2 is such that it is aligned with its longitudinal axis A 20 extending parallel to the front 15 of the putter head 10, above it, therefore being optimal for training conditions.

[0029] The angle adjustment device 22 thus makes it possible to adjust the inclination angle β of the support device 20 relative to the mounting device 21 such that, when the putting training device 2 is attached to the putter shaft 11 of the putter 1, its support device 20 is arranged in a horizontal position in space, indicated by the horizontal line w in Fig. 4, when the putter 1 is in its playing or training position, as exemplified in the Fig. 1, Fig. 3 and Fig. 4 shown. In the playing or training position, the putter shaft 11 is at an angle γ to the vertical S, with respect to its orientation in space, which can be adjusted accordingly by changing the angle of inclination β of the support device 20 relative to the fastening device 21.

[0030] In addition to the embodiments of the putting training device for practicing putting described above and shown in the figures, numerous other embodiments can be formed, in particular any combination of their features, wherein the putting training device always comprises at least one support device with at least one trough-like support surface for placing a rollable object, such as a golf ball, and at least one fastening device for detachably attaching the putting training device to a putter shaft of a putter, and at least one angle adjustment device for adjusting the angle of inclination of the at least one support device relative to the at least one fastening device, wherein the angle adjustment device is arranged between the support device and the fastening device.
