Abstract
Description
Most salt or sugar portioners, also called litters, are most often unused on indoor tables or outdoor coffee trays or stored in a drawer. The top of the tube is unprotected and the sugar or salt contained attracts moisture. After prolonged nonuse, the scattering material is usually agglomerated in such a way that it has to be disposed of and the portioner has to be filled anew. The mechanical protection device of the novel cap plug is a combination of a cap and plug which very well seals a scatterer, for example for sugar or salt. This offers the protection that foreign bodies such as dirt, rain or smaller animals reach the spreader, as well as against moist air, which causes the sugar or the salt to agglomerate in the spreader and makes easy portioning of the spreading material difficult or completely prevents. The top of the cap plug has a circumferential collar which completely surrounds the upper opening of the tube and thus protects against the penetration of foreign bodies. In addition, the cap plug has an inner portion which seats within and fills the tube. This ensures secure retention of the cap plug and, in addition, air with a certain air humidity is displaced from the tube, which contributes to the sugar or the salt being even less agglomerated. The mechanical device is a combination of a simple cover placed on an opening for protection and a plug inserted in an opening. The upper part of the cap plug (5) with the enclosing collar protects the outside and rests on the top of the tube to seal it (6 and 7). Thus, the novel cap plug (5) has a double protection against the penetration of foreign bodies, moist air or rain at the top through the tube (2) into a vessel (1) with a solid cap (3) and displaces moist air additionally present from the tube through the inner tube filling (8), which additionally brings about an improvement against agglomeration of the scattering material (4).An embodiment of the cap plug is explained with reference to FIGS. 1 to 3 : FIG. 1 : Side view of a portioner without a lid plug FIG. 2 : Side view of a portioner with a lidded stopper FIG. 3 : Side view of the cap stopper with circumferential protective collars and inner pipe sealList of reference characters1 Container of the portioner, for example made of glass 2 Tube through lid with openings at the top and bottom 3 Container lid of the portioner 4 Granular material in the portioner, for example sugar or salt 5 Lid plug 6 Lower support with circumferential collar for tube closure 7 Upper support with circumferential collar for tube closure 8 Inner tube seal for tube closure and air displacement
Claims
The mechanical device of the lid plug for portioners is characterized in that with this device no rain, dirt, smaller animals or air humidity enter a portioner and protect against lumps of the scattering material. The device, which is a combination of a lid and a plug, is characterized in that the protective function is given by a top-resting lid on an opening as well as the protective function of a plug in an opening. As a result, the tightness is very high. The mechanical device is characterized in that the inner part of the cap plug displaces air in the tube and thus further reduces the humidity that causes the scattering material to agglomerate. The mechanical device is characterized in that it is small, light and stable due to its simple construction and is usable with many to all portioners. The mechanical device of the lid plug is characterized in that, if it is made as an injection-molded part from plastic, it is very cost-effective to produce and offers a very cost-effective protective function for portioners and thus less scattering material, e.g. sugar, has to be disposed of.
