Description

[0001] Vaulting is a sport practiced alone, in pairs, or in groups on a horse that runs in a circle on a lunge line. Various gymnastic exercises are performed.

[0002] To ensure that both the vaulters and, especially, the horse are not harmed, a girth pad is attached to the horse's back under a vaulting girth. The girth secures the pad and provides support for the athletes.

[0003] During these energetic exercises, various pulling and compressive forces act on the horse's back. These forces should be distributed and absorbed as effectively as possible by the pad placed between the girth and the vaulting blanket / pad.

[0004] In addition, the pad should keep the withers and the front spine free so that the horse's back can work functionally and pain-free and tipping of the girth is prevented.

[0005] While previously used pads are wide, they are often too soft to adequately distribute pressure. Furthermore, the pads extend continuously and flatly over the horse's flanks, back, and withers, severely restricting the horse's freedom of movement.
