Abstract
Description
1. Technical area
[0001] The term "surgical rack" refers to a frame-like support system that can be permanently mounted on the operating table and serves to accommodate medical devices in a structured manner. The invention relates to such a modular surgical rack system for stationary installation in or on operating tables. 2. State of the art
[0002] Currently available solutions for integrating medical devices in the operating room mainly consist of mobile equipment carts (“medical carts”) or complex robot platforms, which are usually designed according to the manufacturer: 1 • Equipment carts (e.g., Erbe VIO Cart, Olympus WM-NP2): Mobile racks with power outlets, mounts, and cable management. They do not offer permanent integration into operating tables or modular rack systems. 2 • Integrated operating room systems (e.g. Karl Storz OR1™, Stryker iSuite™): Closed ceiling installations with central control of light, camera and visualization, but without plug-in technology for individual devices. 3 • Swivel arms and booms (e.g. Maquet Moduevo, Trumpf TruPort): Ceiling-guided systems for positioning energy and gas connections, without modular device units in the rack and without radio remote control. 4
[0003] None of the known systems simultaneously combines 1. modular insertion of medical devices in a fixed rack system, 2. integrated power supply, grounding and internal cable routing, 3. an exhaust air duct system for the passive or active removal of operating heat or flue gases, 4. electrically pivoting carrier units, which can optionally be controlled via a radio remote control, 5. a modularly adaptable docking system for existing standard rails according to DIN EN ISO 19054 on operating tables.
[0004] This combination forms the core of the present invention. 3. Object of the invention
[0005] The aim is to create a permanently installable, hygienically integrated and at the same time modular rack system that accommodates medical devices in a structured manner, ensures their supply, makes them ergonomically accessible and can be docked onto all common operating table rails according to DIN EN ISO 19054. 4. Solution to the task
[0006] The invention achieves the object by a stationary surgical rack system with the following features: 1. Stable support system, firmly mounted on the operating table. 2. Plug-in modules for medical devices with standardized mechanical fixation systems. 3. Integrated power supply, central grounding connections and internal cable routing. 4. Exhaust air duct system for passive or active removal of operating heat or flue gases from the device compartments. 5. Hygienically sealable surfaces or sterile covering options. 6. Swiveling support units for additional modules such as surgical lights, cameras or instrument holders. 7. Electrically movable support arms with optional control via a wireless remote control. 8. Modular design: The overall system consists of interchangeable functional modules. 9. Modular adaptable docking system for attachment to existing standard rails according to DIN EN ISO 19054 on operating tables.
[0007] Note: Complete device operation via tablet is not the subject of this utility model application. 5. Advantages of the invention • Structured, space-saving integration of medical devices without mobile rolling containers. • Reduction of tripping hazards and cable clutter in the operating room. • Improved hygiene through internal cable routing and sterile coverability. • Ergonomic access thanks to electrically movable support arms. • Flexibly configurable and expandable thanks to modular design. • Easy docking to all common operating table rails in accordance with DIN EN ISO 19054. 6. Examples of embodimentsExample 1 - Side-mounted rack (see claims 1-5):
[0008] Module mounted on the side of the operating table with three slots, central power supply, and exhaust air ducting. The front panels remain accessible, cables are routed internally, and the docking adapter fits on a DIN EN ISO 19054 rail. Example 2 - Electrically movable support arm (see claims 6-8):
[0009] The swivel arm supports a surgical camera or light. The electric motor is adjustable and can be controlled optionally via radio remote control. The arm module can be attached to the table via a standard rail in accordance with DIN EN ISO 19054. 7. Drawings (reference) & legend
