Description

Situation:

[0001] The accuracy of all weapons used by the Federal Police must be proven by firing a shot.

[0002] After installing, replacing, or repairing any type of sighting device, it may be unclear, for technical reasons, where the line of sight points in relation to the bore axis. This deviation is determined and corrected during the zeroing process.

[0003] It can happen that if the deviation is large, the target is not hit and the shot disappears in the bullet trap or on open shooting ranges in the terrain, which makes hit detection and correction impossible.

[0004] Then, despite the experience of the staff, experiments are necessary, which cost additional time and ammunition.

[0005] In order to avoid such missed shots, it is advisable to adjust the sighting device attached to the weapon parallel to the bore axis (longitudinal center line) before firing.

[0006] To do this, it is necessary to make them visible in an appropriate way.

[0007] Laser sight line checkers with a caliber pin for insertion into the muzzle of the barrel do not work if devices such as silencers are permanently installed there.

[0008] The same applies to optical sighting devices with integrated deflection prism and caliber mandrel. In addition, when using such devices, the weapon must be placed in a sighting machine or carriage and aligned with an alignment cross because the bore axis and sighting line cannot be seen simultaneously.

[0009] As far as I know, commercially available laser bore sights in cartridge form for insertion into the cartridge chamber of the weapon cannot be switched on and off when inserted, nor can the direction of the laser beam be corrected in relation to the bore axis.

[0010] The invention specified in claim 1 is based on the idea of ​​developing a weapon-type-specific, compact device that can be inserted into the weapon instead of the bolt, called the “G36 alignment laser,” which consists of commercially available components and materials, can be manufactured cost-effectively using the resources of a federal police weapons workshop, and can be used without additional accessories, even in mobile use, in any G36 without dismantling the muzzle attachments.
