Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a temperature control device for cooling a gun barrel of a firearm, in particular a hunting weapon.
[0002] Furthermore, the invention relates to a temperature control system with such a temperature control device. STATE OF THE ART
[0003] Shooting sports are enjoying great and ever-increasing popularity. Today, a significant portion of the population participates in this sport, for example, in shooting clubs or while hunting. However, hunters and security forces such as the police or military also regularly use firearms for professional reasons.
[0004] The German Shooting Federation (DSB) website states that approximately 1.35 million shooters are currently organized in over 14,200 clubs across 20 regional associations. It is estimated that at least 5,000 indoor shooting ranges in Germany are regularly used with high intensity.
[0005] Due to various regulations, particularly legal ones, these shooters regularly visit a shooting range, especially for training purposes, where the firearm is used intensively. This involves firing a large number of consecutive shots in a short period of time, thus subjecting the gun barrel to high-frequency wear.
[0006] The high number of rapid shots fired in a short period of time inevitably leads to the barrel heating up. This heating is accompanied by a warping of the barrel due to the material used, so that with increasing use of the firearm, its accuracy is negatively affected due to the warping. In this case, a so-called point of impact shift occurs. A hot barrel also causes the air above the barrel area to shimmer when aiming, which optically reduces aiming precision. In the case of a double-barreled rifle or drilling, for example, a so-called climbing point of impact occurs, as certain areas of the barrel area heat up more than others.
[0007] To solve this problem, it is necessary to cool down the gun barrel at regular intervals, preferably quickly.
[0008] In this regard, it is known to blow out the gun barrel using a tempering device in the form of a so-called blow-out device. This device uses excess pressure to blow the hot air out of the gun barrel, cooling it with the resulting airflow.
[0009] A disadvantage of this known solution, however, is that when the hot air is blown out of the gun barrel, gunpowder residues such as saltpeter and lead contained in the air in the barrel are also expelled from the gun barrel into the environment. In addition, the blow-out devices commonly found in shooting ranges use air compressors, which are very loud, expensive, and consequently require a lot of maintenance. They also take up a lot of space in already cramped spaces. In addition, the compressed air often contains moisture, which is detrimental to the often high-quality and expensive weapons and can lead to corrosion in the gun barrel. Ultimately, toxic lead residues and gunpowder residues are released into the ambient air in a swirling manner. This disadvantageously leads to the subsequent problem of air pollution in the shooting range area, especially in shooting ranges that are located in enclosed spaces.
[0010] Shooting ranges, especially closed shooting ranges, are required to comply with various legal regulations. In the Federal Republic of Germany, extensive regulations can be found, for example, in the Guidelines for the Construction, Acceptance, and Operation of Shooting Ranges (Shooting Range Guidelines), published on October 23, 2012, in the Federal Gazette AT 23.10.2012 B2, pursuant to Section 12, Paragraph 3, Sentence 2 of the General Weapons Act Ordinance, the Shooting Range Guidelines of July 23, 2012. These also include regulations regarding occupational safety.
[0011] For example, operating an indoor shooting range requires compliance with strict indoor air quality requirements to ensure the safety and health of shooters, staff, and visitors. The exact requirements may vary from country to country and region to region, but in general, the following aspects must be considered: • Ventilation system: An efficient ventilation system is crucial for removing contaminants from the air. It should continuously recirculate the room air and effectively extract contaminants, especially gunpowder vapors and contaminants from fired cartridges. Ventilation requirements may vary depending on the type of shooting range (e.g., pistol or rifle). • Filtration: The exhaust air from the shooting range should be cleaned by high-performance filtration systems to remove pollutants, dust, and particles. High-quality filters, such as HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filters, should be used to ensure effective removal of pollutants. • Overpressure: In some cases, overpressure is maintained in the shooting range to prevent the ingress of contaminants from neighboring rooms. This can be achieved through special air pressure control. • Protective clothing: Shooters should wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including respirators and hearing protection, to protect themselves from contaminants and noise pollution. • Room design: The construction and materials of the shooting range should be sound-absorbing and easy to clean in order to minimize pollutant residues. • Regular maintenance: The ventilation system and filters must be regularly maintained and checked to ensure they are functioning properly. • Legal requirements: Exact requirements and regulations may vary from country to country and state to state. It is important to know and comply with local laws and regulations. • Health monitoring: Shooters and employees should be regularly monitored for exposure to contaminants and health problems.
[0012] Closed shooting ranges that comply with the regulations typically have a ventilation system, usually a displacement system, to remove air contaminated with gunpowder residue. Furthermore, the regulations stipulate, among other things, that holding devices for used firearms must always be located behind the shooter.
[0013] Compliance with these requirements is crucial to ensuring indoor air quality in an enclosed shooting range and protecting the health of the people present there. It is important to adhere to local laws and regulations and, if necessary, consult environmental and occupational safety experts to ensure that the requirements are met.
[0014] If one of the known blow-out systems described above is used to cool the gun barrel, the air blown out and contaminated with gunpowder residues is inevitably directed towards the gunner by the room ventilation system and / or the arrangement of the stored weapon behind the gunner.
[0015] This gives rise to the further problem of a health risk to the shooters present in the shooting range associated with the blowing out of hot air to cool the gun barrel.
[0016] This leads to the fundamental problem that the blow-out systems used to cool firearms are generally not compliant with the legal guidelines for operating closed shooting ranges. In summary, the known solutions for cooling the gun barrel using blow-out systems present a conflicting situation: On the one hand, regular cooling of the respective barrel is necessary to maintain the accuracy of the firearm and thus ensure its intended use. On the other hand, cooling using conventional blow-out systems generally does not comply with legal regulations regarding the proper operation of the shooting range, as blowing contaminated air toward the shooter poses a health hazard. The need for a solution to resolve this conflict is very high.
[0017] Another fundamental problem with general firearm use is the regular occurrence of condensation inside the barrel and the associated risk of damage to the weapon, particularly through corrosion.
[0018] On the one hand, in the case of high humidity or improper storage of the firearm, condensation can form due to temperature fluctuations, i.e. in particular when there are strong temperature differences between the gun barrel and the surrounding area, and pitting corrosion can occur, particularly when the condensation binds to or combines with bullet and combustion residues in the gun barrel.
[0019] Secondly, condensation regularly occurs, especially when a firearm is in use. Condensation from the ambient air condenses on the cold barrel. If you bring a cold weapon into a heated environment, such as a room or a shooting range, or into the interior of a car kept warm by an auxiliary heater, particularly after prolonged disuse or while hunting in the winter, dew is known to form on all surfaces, regardless of their material. Condensation also forms in the barrel. If this is not removed, it regularly leads to a risk of corrosion and, in the long term, damage to the firearm.
[0020] A commonly used method to reduce this risk is to leave the weapon in the appropriate gun case or holster during the transition from cold to warm temperatures, and only remove it after one to two hours when the temperatures have equilibrated. Common examples include waterproof holsters with tightly closing zippers or attachments that seal or close the gun barrel. A moisture-absorbing material such as silica gel can also be placed near the weapon to remove any condensation that may occur.
[0021] However, the known methods have the disadvantage that they significantly limit user comfort, among other things, because valuable time is required to balance the firearm and / or the attachments in question must be laboriously and time-consumingly mounted on the firearm and removed again.
[0022] The object of the invention is to provide a temperature control device which is improved compared to the known temperature control devices in the form of blow-out systems, as well as an improved temperature control system, in which the above-described conflict between cooling requirements and health protection is solved in an advantageous manner and, furthermore, a convenient possibility for avoiding or at least eliminating condensation water is provided.
[0023] In particular, the object of the invention thus comprises an improvement in the firing performance of the firearm, improved protection of the weapon against damage resulting from condensate, in particular corrosion, as well as improved health protection for the user and the surrounding persons, in particular those at the shooting range.
[0024] This object is achieved by a temperature control device and a temperature control system according to the independent claims. Advantageous embodiments of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims. DISCLOSURE OF THE INVENTION
[0025] According to the invention, a tempering device for tempering, in particular cooling, a weapon barrel of a firearm and / or a muzzle damper, in particular a silencer, mounted on the weapon barrel is proposed, wherein the firearm can in particular be a hunting weapon.
[0026] According to the invention, the temperature control device has at least one suction hose with a first hose end that can be assigned to a suction device, in particular an explosion-proof one, and a second hose end that can be assigned to the weapon barrel, wherein the second hose end can be connected or connected at least indirectly pneumatically to the weapon barrel, in particular can be inserted into the weapon barrel or plugged onto the weapon barrel, preferably can be slipped over, so that by means of the temperature control device, by operating the suction device for cooling the weapon barrel, temperature control air, in particular temperature control air, in particular cooling air, can be sucked through the weapon barrel.
[0027] The tempering air can be either cooler air relative to the weapon barrel (i.e., cooling air) or warmer air relative to the weapon barrel (i.e., heating air). The tempering air preferably comes directly from the ambient air, but if necessary, it can also be specifically cooled or heated in advance, i.e., before being used to temper the weapon barrel.
[0028] Furthermore, an attachment, in particular the aforementioned muzzle brake or silencer, can be mounted on the weapon barrel, preferably screwed on via a thread, which can be temperature-controlled by the temperature control device. In particular, the weapon barrel therefore has a mounting device, in particular a thread, for mounting the attachment.
[0029] According to the invention, it is therefore proposed that—in contrast to the tempering devices known from the prior art in the form of blow-out systems—the tempering air, in particular cooling air, is not blown into the gun barrel, but rather is sucked through it. In other words, the hot air in the used gun barrel is not blown out in the known manner, but rather advantageously sucked away.
[0030] For this purpose, when the tempering device is used as intended, a coupling is provided with the suction device and the weapon barrel or the attachment mounted thereon, so that the hot air is sucked out of the weapon barrel and the latter is effectively cooled by the tempering effect, in particular the cooling effect, associated with the suction and generated by the corresponding air flow.
[0031] Furthermore, the invention provides that the second hose end can be or is coupled to the weapon barrel or the attachment mounted on the weapon barrel, in particular muzzle dampers or silencers, indirectly via a barrel adapter element. The barrel adapter element has an adapter socket for receiving a muzzle area of a muzzle barrel or an attachment of a single, double, or triple barrel, which surrounds the single barrel or the barrel bundle or the attachment of the weapon barrel.
[0032] A direct coupling is understood to mean a connection of the second hose end to the weapon barrel or attachment without the need for any further elements in between. The second hose end is therefore immediately or directly inserted into the weapon barrel or attached to it. A direct coupling has the advantage that the coupling is uncomplicated to produce, as no further components are required. In contrast, for an indirect coupling according to the invention, at least the barrel adapter element is inserted intermediately. The indirect coupling has the advantage that, depending on the design of the barrel adapter element, a large number of differently designed weapon barrels or attachments can be coupled to the temperature control device, meaning that the same temperature control device can be used to temperature control different weapon barrels or attachments. For this purpose, a barrel adapter element can be attached to the muzzle area of the weapon barrel orof the barrel bundle and can be designed so that an attachment attached to the muzzle, such as a silencer, muzzle brake or similar, can also be encompassed by the barrel adapter element. In this context, encompassing means a preferably gas-tight enclosure of the muzzle area of the weapon barrel or barrel bundle or of the attachment arranged at the muzzle. This can advantageously be achieved by a form-fitting design of the barrel adapter element, in particular by an at least partially elastic, preferably fully elastic design, for example as a rubber-elastic element or silicone element on the side of the barrel adapter element facing the barrel, so that it can be pulled over the muzzle area and encompass it preferably in a gas-tight manner. Alternatively or additionally, a conical design of a muzzle receiving area on the side facing the barrel can support a gas-tight and form-fitting connection. In contrast, a side facing the suction hose can be designed as a pot-shaped recessed area into which the suction hose can be inserted or which can be encompassed by the suction hose. In the case of a barrel bundle, a barrel flange can be provided on the side facing the barrel, comprising two, three, or more conforming barrel receptacles to provide a fluid-tight coupling with the muzzle openings of each individual barrel. A constriction area between the side facing the barrel and the side facing the suction hose can serve as a stop surface when inserting a suction hose as well as when inserting the muzzle area.
[0033] The temperature control device according to the invention effectively solves the problem mentioned above and effectively avoids the problems described: The temperature control device according to the invention thus advantageously enables particularly effective cooling of the weapon barrel and, at the same time, reliable cleaning, so that the unimpaired, intended operation or use of the firearm can be guaranteed in a simple manner and thus the shooting performance can be improved.
[0034] Furthermore, damage to the weapon (corrosion) resulting from potential condensate is effectively prevented. By conveying the tempering air through the barrel, the barrel can be tempered, i.e., heated, when the weapon is comparatively cool compared to the ambient temperature due to non-use, particularly in cold outside temperatures. This reliably prevents the formation of condensate, or any condensate that has already formed is extracted from the weapon with the tempering air. Advantageously, the tempering device according to the invention ultimately also reliably solves the problem described above of the health hazard to shooters posed by gunpowder residues in the expelled air. This is because, when using the tempering device according to the invention, the powder residues are no longer blown out into the environment during the tempering of the weapon barrel, as is usually the case, but are safely extracted and thus transferred to a system isolated from the environment, namely the extraction device, where filtering of the extracted air is advantageously and preferably possible.
[0035] Accordingly, the temperature control device according to the invention complies with the legal requirements for the operation of closed shooting ranges, since it advantageously does not pose a health risk due to contaminated air.
[0036] In particular, the conflict situation described at the beginning between cooling requirements and compliance with the specifications is thus reliably solved by the temperature control device according to the invention.
[0037] The extraction device is preferably a vacuum cleaner or a vacuum-generating device, in particular a suction fan. The extraction device is preferably designed to be explosion-proof. Alternatively, the temperature control device can also be connected to an extraction device already present in the shooting range, as this device continuously extracts air during normal operation and usually already contains air filters that meet the requirements of the employers' liability insurance association. The extraction device can - but does not have to - be a suitable vacuum cleaner. The use of mobile, battery-operated vacuum cleaners can be advantageous to enable mobile use.
[0038] Preferably, multiple extraction hoses and multiple barrel adapter elements can be provided, especially when a weapon comprises multiple barrels, e.g., a shotgun barrel for shotgun cartridges and a rifle barrel for rifle cartridges. This allows the barrels of double-barreled rifles or drillings to be effectively cooled, with each extraction hose allowing one barrel to be extracted using a separate barrel adapter element. In addition, or in addition, it is conceivable for multiple weapons to be cooled in parallel via the multiple extraction hoses and barrel adapter elements using a single extraction device.
[0039] In principle, the second hose end can be attached either to the muzzle area or an attachment mounted there, such as a muzzle suppressor or similar, or to the cartridge chamber of the weapon barrel. According to the invention, the second hose end can be connected or is connected by the barrel adapter element to a muzzle area of the weapon barrel or to a muzzle suppressor, in particular a silencer, mounted on the muzzle area. In other words, it is preferably provided that the temperature control device is always attached to the muzzle area or the attachment, not to another access point on the weapon barrel, for example, to the cartridge chamber.
[0040] This advantageously ensures an easy-to-implement and safe arrangement or connection of the tempering device to the weapon barrel and thus effective tempering and cleaning.
[0041] According to a preferred development, it is provided that the temperature control device has a suction adapter element which can be pneumatically connected or connected to the first hose end, in particular plugged in or plugged on, and is designed such that the temperature control device can be pneumatically connected or connected to the suction device by means of the suction adapter element.
[0042] This provides the advantage of enabling a simple, uncomplicated connection of the temperature control device to the suction device. Furthermore, the corresponding design of the suction adapter element offers the further advantage that the temperature control device can be connected to a variety of differently designed suction devices.
[0043] In other words, the suction adapter element is preferably designed to match the suction device in terms of material and geometry (pneumatically coupled), in particular complementary. For example, the suction adapter element can be designed as a sleeve or a corresponding cylinder that can be slipped onto a vacuum cleaner tube.
[0044] Preferably, the suction adapter element is designed to be universally suitable, so that the temperature control device can be used with a variety of different suction devices. Simply put, the same suction adapter element preferably fits on different suction devices.
[0045] The suction adapter element is preferably made of plastic, sheet metal or similar.
[0046] According to a preferred development, the suction adapter element has a first coupling opening that can be assigned to the suction device and pneumatically coupled thereto, in particular a first coupling opening that is complementary in design, and / or a second coupling opening that can be assigned to or assigned to the first hose end and pneumatically coupled or coupled to the first hose end. This advantageously enables an easily mountable connection of the suction adapter element to the temperature control device and of the temperature control device to the suction device.
[0047] According to a preferred development, the first coupling opening and / or the second coupling opening each have a preferably conically shaped coupling nozzle. The coupling nozzle is preferably arranged at the respective coupling opening or, alternatively, is formed integrally with the suction adapter element, so that the coupling opening is formed in the coupling nozzle. The coupling nozzle(s) have the advantage of further simplifying the connection of the suction adapter element to the temperature control device and the suction device.
[0048] In particular, the coupling nozzle is designed to be removable and therefore interchangeable. Such a coupling nozzle can be considered an adapter, so to speak. An interchangeable coupling nozzle offers the additional advantage of ensuring great variability with regard to different temperature control devices and suction devices, thus creating the possibility of using the suction adapter element for various temperature control devices and / or suction devices.
[0049] According to a preferred development, the suction adapter element has at least one locking device, in particular a locking device, clamping device, or clamping lever, for captively fastening the suction device and / or the first hose end to the suction adapter element. In particular, the locking device is formed in or arranged on the aforementioned coupling piece. The locking device has the advantage of reliably preventing the accidental release of individual components (temperature control device, suction adapter element, and / or suction device). Of course, the locking device is also designed to be detachable, so that the coupling of individual components can be released again at any time.
[0050] According to a preferred development, at least one sealing element, preferably an axially sealing first sealing element and / or a radially sealing second sealing element, is provided for the sealing arrangement of the suction adapter element at the first hose end. This advantageously ensures a particularly reliable pneumatic coupling.
[0051] According to a preferred development, the suction hose is made, at least in sections, from an elastic material, preferably silicone. This advantageously ensures a simple yet secure coupling of the suction hose to the suction adapter element and / or the suction device and / or the weapon barrel, since the elasticity of the suction hose allows it to be easily inserted into or attached to said components. Furthermore, there is the further advantage that, due to the at least limited extensibility of the suction hose associated with its elasticity, its diameter can be changed at least to a limited extent, so that it can be easily used for a variety of different components.
[0052] Preferably, the material of the extraction hose is also heat-resistant. Using a heat-resistant material offers the additional advantage of making the extraction hose particularly robust and wear-resistant, as the hot air extracted from the gun barrel can only cause minimal stress on the material.
[0053] According to a preferred development, the barrel adapter element is formed, at least in sections, from a heat-resistant material, in particular silicone, metal, or a temperature-resistant plastic. This advantageously makes the barrel adapter element wear-resistant, since the hot air extracted from the weapon barrel does not place excessive stress on the material of the barrel adapter element. The use of silicone, in particular, offers the further advantage that, due to its soft nature, the surface of the weapon barrel is protected from scratches.
[0054] For example, the barrel adapter element can have a metal core that is coated with silicone on the inside and / or outside.
[0055] According to a preferred development, the barrel adapter element has at least one adapter socket with a conical longitudinal cross-section. Therefore, the barrel adapter element is preferably conical along a longitudinal axis. This design has the advantage that the barrel adapter element is self-sealing when fitted onto the weapon barrel. Furthermore, a barrel adapter element with a conical design, at least in sections, enables the same temperature control device to be coupled to different weapon barrels or attachments, i.e., weapon barrels or attachments with different diameters.
[0056] With regard to the conical longitudinal cross-section, the adapter socket can be designed to be either widening (in the case that it is intended to be plugged onto the weapon barrel or attachment) or narrowing (in the case that it is intended to be plugged into the weapon barrel or attachment) in the direction of the weapon barrel.
[0057] According to a preferred development, the barrel adapter element has at least two adapter sockets for insertion into or fitting onto a muzzle area and / or a cartridge chamber of a weapon barrel or an attachment mounted thereon. This offers the advantage that the barrel adapter element allows multiple weapon barrels to be coupled to the tempering device simultaneously, thus enabling simultaneous tempering of multiple firearms by means of the tempering device and the barrel adapter element.
[0058] Preferably, the adapter sockets are evenly spaced from one another, for example, in a linear row or arranged around a circumference. Preferably, at least one of the adapter sockets is formed integrally with the adapter element. Alternatively, a separate design of the adapter sockets is preferably provided so that they are removable or replaceable, so that different types of weapon barrels or attachments can advantageously be coupled simultaneously to the tempering device using the same barrel adapter element, i.e., each using an individual adapter socket.
[0059] According to a preferred embodiment, the barrel adapter element comprises at least one valve device for at least indirectly pneumatically closing the second hose end and / or one of the adapter connectors. This provides the advantage that the interior of the temperature control device is protected from the ingress of contamination when not in use.
[0060] The valve device is preferably designed to be automatic, closing the second hose end or the corresponding adapter connector in an initial state and only opening automatically when the gun barrel is inserted or pushed on, so that the interior of the suction hose is pneumatically accessible only when coupled to a gun barrel. Alternatively, the valve device can be designed to be mechanically or electronically controllable.
[0061] With regard to the valve device, according to a first embodiment, a central valve device is preferably provided, which is arranged directly at the second hose end or the side of the barrel adapter element associated with the second hose end. This enables central closure, i.e., central decoupling of the suction hose from the barrel adapter element.
[0062] According to an alternative second embodiment, the valve device is preferably arranged at the end of the barrel adapter element, i.e., at the end of the barrel adapter element that is associated with the weapon barrel. This end-side arrangement is particularly advantageous when the barrel adapter element has multiple docking options (adapter sockets) for multiple weapon barrels or attachments. In this case, the valve device is preferably arranged in the adapter socket, with one valve device being provided for each adapter socket. This advantageously enables the barrel adapter element or the associated temperature control device to be used as intended even if not all docking options for weapon barrels are actually occupied. For example, two of four adapter nozzles can be used, whereby the two unoccupied nozzles are securely closed by the respective valve device and the negative pressure used for suction is reliably maintained within the temperature control device, so that suction is still possible without problems despite the fact that not all adapter nozzles are coupled to a weapon barrel.
[0063] According to a preferred development, the barrel adapter element has at least one locking device, in particular a latching device or clamping lever, for captively securing the weapon barrel and / or the second hose end to the barrel adapter element. This locking device is preferably designed, at least in principle, analogous to the locking device of the suction adapter element. This results in the advantages already mentioned in this regard.
[0064] According to a preferred development, the temperature control device has at least one, preferably replaceable, filter system, in particular a HEPA filter, for filtering the air extracted from the weapon barrel. The filter system is preferably arranged in the region of the first hose end and / or the second hose end and / or in the region of the suction adapter element and / or the barrel adapter element. In this respect, multiple filter systems can optionally be provided simultaneously, which can be arranged in the various sections of the cooling device and / or across, i.e., simultaneously across, several of the sections. This advantageously achieves filtering of the temperature control air extracted from or conveyed through the weapon barrel, thus further improving health protection and preventing environmental pollution.
[0065] According to the invention, a tempering system for a gun barrel is further proposed. The tempering system comprises a tempering device and a suction device, in particular a vacuum cleaner or a vacuum generating device, in particular a suction fan, pneumatically coupled to the tempering device, which is particularly explosion-proof. The system is characterized in that the tempering device is designed according to the invention as already described above. This results in the advantages already mentioned in this regard.
[0066] Preferably, the extraction device is designed to be explosion-proof, as is the case, for example, with extraction devices used in shooting ranges.
[0067] According to a preferred development, a preferably replaceable filter system, in particular a HEPA filter, is provided for filtering the air extracted from the gun barrel, particularly in the extraction device or in the temperature control device (as already described above). This advantageously ensures that the extracted air is thoroughly cleaned before being released into the environment, so that, in particular, harmful powder residues are filtered out, thus preventing a health hazard.
[0068] According to a preferred development, the temperature control system comprises at least one storage device, in particular a weapon rack, for storing at least one, in particular several, firearms, wherein at least one temperature control device can be attached to the storage device or can be or is coupled at least indirectly pneumatically to the storage device. The storage device can thus be at least partially integrated into the temperature control device. This offers the advantage that, when the firearm is stored in the storage device, its temperature control and cleaning by means of the temperature control device are simultaneously possible.
[0069] According to a preferred development, the temperature control device, in particular the second hose end, is or can be coupled to the storage device in such a way, and the storage device is designed such that when a firearm is stored in the storage device, the respective weapon barrel or attachment can be coupled, preferably automatically, to the temperature control device and thus temperature controlled. In other words, the storage device is preferably designed such that when the firearm is inserted into the holder (preferably with the weapon barrel facing downwards), the weapon barrel automatically docks onto the second hose end or the barrel adapter element, so that temperature control and cleaning can be carried out automatically and simultaneously with the storage of the firearm.
[0070] According to a further embodiment, it can also be provided that the firearm is stored in the storage device with the barrel facing upwards, and then the temperature control device preferably automatically moves to the barrel, for example via a lever mechanism, and pneumatically couples it, or the temperature control device is manually placed on the barrel after the firearm has been stored in the storage device. This also has the advantage that the storage allows for simultaneous temperature control and cleaning of the weapon, thus providing a storage option and a temperature control option simultaneously.
[0071] According to a preferred development, the storage device for automatically coupling the weapon barrel to the temperature control device has a plug-in or plug-on area that is pneumatically coupled or coupled to the temperature control device, into which the weapon barrel or attachment is automatically inserted or plugged when the firearm is stored, wherein the plug-in or plug-on area preferably has a valve device for, preferably automatically, blocking and / or releasing the temperature control air, in particular cooling air. The coupling can be made directly or via the barrel adapter element. For example, a recess for the barrel adapter element is provided in the corresponding area, or the barrel adapter element is part of the storage device and the suction hose can be plugged onto the storage device if required. This results in the advantages already mentioned above.
[0072] According to the invention, a bearing device for the temperature control system described above is also proposed. This results in the advantages already mentioned above. DRAWINGS
[0073] Further advantages will become apparent from the accompanying drawing description. The drawings illustrate exemplary embodiments of the invention. The drawings, the description, and the claims contain numerous features in combination. Those skilled in the art will also expediently consider the features individually and combine them into useful further combinations.
[0074] They show: Fig. 1 A highly simplified perspective view of an advantageous temperature control system with an advantageous temperature control device according to a first embodiment, Fig. 2 a schematic sectional view of the first embodiment, Fig. 3 a highly simplified perspective view of the temperature control system according to a second embodiment, Fig. 4 a schematic sectional view of the second embodiment, Fig. 5 a highly simplified perspective view of the temperature control system according to a third embodiment, Fig. 6 a highly simplified perspective view of the temperature control system according to a fourth embodiment, and Fig. 7 a highly simplified perspective view of an advantageous bearing device of the temperature control system; Fig. 8 several representations of an embodiment of a barrel adapter element for a barrel attachment such as a silencer or muzzle brake; Fig. 9 several representations of an embodiment of a barrel adapter element for a triple barrel.
[0075] In the figures, similar elements are numbered with the same reference numerals. The figures are merely examples and are not to be construed as limiting.
[0076] Fig. 1 shows a highly simplified perspective view of an advantageous temperature control system 10 according to a first embodiment.
[0077] The tempering system 10 is designed to temper a weapon barrel 12, which is only indicated here for reasons of clarity, and advantageously to clean it at the same time when used as intended.
[0078] For this purpose, the temperature control system 10 comprises a temperature control device 14 and a suction device 16 which can be coupled to the temperature control device 14 and is coupled when used as intended. Fig. In Figure 1, the extraction device 16 is also only partially indicated for reasons of clarity. The extraction device 16 is preferably designed to be explosion-proof.
[0079] The temperature control device 14 has at least one suction hose 18 with a first hose end 20 and a second hose end 22. The first hose end 20 is in this case assigned to the suction device 16 or is assigned when used as intended, while the second hose end 22 is assigned to the gun barrel 12. Fig. 1, both the first hose end 20 and the second hose end 22 are pneumatically coupled to the suction device 16 and the weapon barrel 12, so that a pneumatic connection is established between the suction device 16 and the weapon barrel 12 by means of the temperature control device 14 or the suction hose 18.
[0080] Due to the pneumatic coupling between the suction device 16 and the weapon barrel 12, which is established by means of the temperature control device 14, it is possible to suck tempering air, in particular cooling air, through the weapon barrel 12 in order to temper the weapon barrel 12 by operating the suction device 16.
[0081] In other words, in a first case, in which the firearm was used to fire a shot immediately beforehand, hot air is sucked out of the gun barrel 12 by means of the suction device 16 and the temperature control device 14 by generating a negative pressure, so that the gun barrel is advantageously cooled by the resulting airflow and simultaneously cleaned of gunpowder residue. In a second case, in which the firearm has not been used for a comparatively long time and / or at low ambient temperatures, for example during a hunting stand in winter, and has therefore cooled down compared to the environment, the air, which is warmer than the gun barrel 12, is sucked or conveyed through the gun barrel 12 by the generated negative pressure. This effectively heats the gun barrel 12 to prevent condensation from forming, as well as to remove condensate that has already formed, and thus protects the weapon from corrosion.
[0082] The suction device 16 is preferably a vacuum cleaner or a comparable vacuum-generating device, in particular a suction fan. For coupling the temperature control device 14 or the suction hose 18 to the suction device, the temperature control device 14 according to the present embodiment has a suction adapter element 24, which in this case is sleeve-shaped and pneumatically coupled to the suction hose 18 on the one hand and to the suction device 16 on the other.
[0083] As in Fig. 1, the suction adapter element 24 is, in the present case, attached at least partially to a section of the suction device 16 on one side. The suction adapter element 24 is further coupled to the first hose end 20 on the other side, so that an indirect pneumatic connection is established between the suction hose 18 and the suction device 16 by means of the suction adapter element 24.
[0084] In order to ensure a secure fastening of the suction hose 18 and the suction adapter element 24, the temperature control device 14 has at least one locking device 26 arranged in the connection area between the first hose end 20 and the suction adapter element 24. The locking device 26 is in Fig. 1 is only shown schematically for reasons of clarity and can be designed, for example, as a locking device, clamping lever or similar.
[0085] In the Fig. 1, it is further provided that the temperature control device 14 or the second hose end 22 of the suction hose 18 is directly coupled to the gun barrel 12. For this purpose, the second hose end 22, as shown in Fig. 1, is partially inserted into the weapon barrel 12. The suction hose 18 is made of an elastic and heat-resistant material, so that the elasticity of the suction hose 18 creates a pneumatically tight, force-locking connection (press fit) when inserted into the weapon barrel 12.
[0086] Fig. 2 shows a simplified sectional view of the previously described first embodiment of the temperature control system 10.
[0087] As in Fig. As can be clearly seen in Figure 2, for the pneumatic connection of the suction hose 18 to the suction adapter element 24, the second hose end 20 is at least partially plugged onto a coupling socket 28 of the suction adapter element 24. In this case, the coupling socket 28 is formed integrally with the suction adapter element 24.
[0088] As already described above, the suction adapter element 24 is sleeve-shaped in the present case and thus has a first coupling opening 30 assigned to the suction device 16 and a second coupling opening 32 assigned to the suction hose 18. The first coupling opening 30 is essentially one of the open ends of the sleeve-shaped suction adapter element 24, wherein the first coupling opening 30, as in Fig. 2, is attached to an area of the suction device 16. The second coupling opening 32 is formed within the coupling socket 28 and is pneumatically connected to the suction hose 18, so that the pneumatic connection between the suction device 16 and the suction hose 18 is established via the two coupling openings in 30, 32.
[0089] To improve the tightness of this connection, it is provided here that the temperature control device 14 further comprises a sealing element 34 arranged in the region of the suction adapter element 24. Preferably, several sealing elements 34 are provided, wherein in particular a radially sealing first sealing element and an axially sealing second sealing element are provided.
[0090] The suction adapter element 24 is preferably designed such that various suction devices 16 can be coupled to the suction hose 18 by means of the suction adapter element 24. For this purpose, the suction adapter element 24 can, for example, be designed to be elastic, at least in some areas, or to be variable in terms of its diameter. Designs other than the sleeve-shaped design shown here are also conceivable for the suction adapter element 24.
[0091] Fig. Figure 3 shows a simplified perspective view of the presently described temperature control system 10 according to a second exemplary embodiment. Identical elements are provided with the same reference numerals, with reference to the above description, and only the differences will be discussed below.
[0092] The Fig. The second embodiment shown in Figure 3 differs from the first embodiment in that the suction hose 18 or its second hose end 22 is no longer directly connected to the weapon barrel 12. Instead, an indirect connection is provided, for which purpose the tempering device 14 has a barrel adapter element 36.
[0093] The barrel adapter element 36 is arranged or attached to the second hose end 22 and is designed such that the intended pneumatic connection between the suction hose 18 and the weapon barrel 12 can be established or is established by means of the barrel adapter element 36. In the present case, the barrel adapter element 36 is conical or has a conical longitudinal cross-section.
[0094] The barrel adapter element 36 is captively secured to the second hose end 22 by means of a locking device 38. The locking device 38 is designed, at least in terms of its function, analogous to the locking device 26, so that reference is made to the above description in this regard.
[0095] The conical design of the barrel adapter element 36 enables the barrel adapter element 36 and thus the tempering device 14 to be pushed onto the weapon barrel 12. In the present case, the weapon barrel 12, as shown in Fig. 3, an attachment arranged at the end of the weapon barrel 12, in this case a screwed-on silencer 40, wherein the barrel adapter element 36 is pushed onto this silencer 14. In this respect, the weapon barrel 12 in this case has a thread for screwing on the attachment or silencer 40. In this regard, an external thread is applied to the outside of the weapon barrel 12, which is complementary to an internal thread of the silencer 40. Of course, other attachments can also be mounted on the weapon barrel 12 using complementary threads via the external thread.
[0096] The conical design of the barrel adapter element 36 enables a self-sealing connection with the weapon barrel 12 or the silencer 40. Furthermore, the conical design of the barrel adapter element 36 has the advantage that different diameters of weapon barrels 12 can be connected to the tempering device 14. The barrel adapter element 36 thus serves as a universally applicable connection option between the tempering system 10 and the firearm to be cooled.
[0097] Fig. 4 shows a simplified sectional view of the previously described Fig. 3 described second embodiment of the temperature control system 10.
[0098] In Fig. 4, the pneumatic connection between the suction hose 18 and the weapon barrel 12 or silencer 40 by means of the barrel adapter element 36 is shown more clearly. Fig. 4 that the barrel adapter element 36 in the present case has a, preferably integrally formed, adapter socket 42 which serves for the pneumatic connection of the second hose end 22 to the barrel adapter element 36.
[0099] As in Fig. As can be clearly seen in Figure 4, the second hose end 22 is plugged onto the adapter connector 42, whereby the elasticity of the suction hose 18 enables a press fit and thus a pneumatically tight attachment. Furthermore, the second hose end 22 is captively secured to the adapter connector 42 and thus to the barrel adapter element 36 by means of the aforementioned locking device 38.
[0100] Fig. 5 shows a highly simplified perspective view of a third embodiment of the temperature control system 10 described above. Again, identical elements are provided with the same reference numerals, with reference to what is described above, and only the differences are explained below.
[0101] The Fig. The third embodiment shown in Figure 5 differs from the previous embodiments in that several, in this case three, suction hoses 18 are now provided, so that several weapon barrels 12 or firearms can be connected simultaneously to the same suction device 16 by means of the temperature control device 14. In other words, a connection from one suction device 16 to several firearms can be established by means of the same temperature control device 14 and / or a single firearm with several, in particular different, weapon barrels 12 can be temperature-controlled.
[0102] In this case, the suction hoses 18 are shortened and, analogous to the Fig. 1 and Fig. 2, can be coupled directly to the respective weapon barrel 12 by simply inserting the respective second hose end 22 at least partially into the weapon barrel 12. Additionally or alternatively, the Fig. In the third embodiment shown in Figure 5, at least one barrel adapter element 36 can be provided, so that an indirect coupling with the corresponding weapon barrels 12 is also possible.
[0103] Fig. Figure 6 shows the above-described temperature control system 10 according to a fourth exemplary embodiment. Identical elements are again provided with the same reference numerals, with reference to the above description. Only the differences will be explained below.
[0104] In the Fig. In the fourth embodiment shown in Figure 6, it is now provided that the barrel adapter element 36 has a plurality of adapter sockets 42, in this case four. The adapter sockets 42 are arranged in a row and evenly spaced from one another, but can alternatively be arranged differently.
[0105] Furthermore, at least in the fourth embodiment, it is provided that the temperature control device 14 or its barrel adapter element 36 has at least one valve device 44 which serves to at least indirectly pneumatically close the second hose end 22 and / or adapter connector 42.
[0106] In the present case, each adapter connector 42 has its own valve device 44, which is preferably designed to close automatically. Accordingly, it is provided that the respective adapter connectors 42 are pneumatically closed in the uncoupled state by means of their respective valve device 44, wherein the valve device 44 only opens when the corresponding adapter connector 42 is pneumatically coupled to a weapon barrel 12. The pneumatic coupling can be achieved either by inserting or by plugging, wherein the corresponding adapter connector 42 has a corresponding geometry, in particular conical.
[0107] Alternatively, according to an embodiment not shown, it can also be provided that the barrel adapter element 36 has only one central valve device 44, which is arranged in the area of the barrel adapter element 36 facing the second hose end 22 and can close the entire barrel adapter element 36 centrally in the direction of the second hose end 22.
[0108] Of course, the valve device 44 described above can also be provided in the other embodiments.
[0109] Fig. 7 shows a simplified perspective view of an exemplary embodiment of an advantageous storage device 46 of the previously described temperature control system 10.
[0110] The storage device 46 is designed such that a plurality of firearms can be stored in the storage device 46 and can be connected to the temperature control system 10 or the temperature control device 14 during storage, so that the respective weapon barrels 12 can be simultaneously temperature-controlled and cleaned by the temperature control system 10 during storage.
[0111] For this purpose, the bearing device 46, as shown in Fig. 7, is essentially designed as a weapon stand. The storage device 46 has a holding area 48 and a spaced-apart insertion or attachment area 50, which are arranged substantially parallel and aligned with one another.
[0112] A series of holding openings 52 is formed in the holder area 48. The insertion or attachment area 50, in turn, has the same number of adapter sockets 42, wherein the adapter sockets 42 and the holding openings 52 are arranged in alignment with one another. To store the firearms, it is essentially provided that the weapon barrels 12 are first inserted through the holding opening 52, so that the muzzle area of the respective weapon barrel 12 is placed onto or inserted into the respective adapter socket 42 arranged in alignment with the respective holding opening 52.
[0113] The insertion area 50 is, as in Fig. 7, can be connected or connected to the suction hose 18 and thus coupled to the suction device 16. In this respect, the insertion or plug-on area 50 of the bearing device 46 fulfills the function of the barrel adapter element 36 and accordingly has the previously described adapter sockets 42.
[0114] Furthermore, it is preferably provided that, as in Fig. 7, each adapter socket 42 has one of the previously mentioned valve devices 44, which closes the respective adapter socket 52 in the uncoupled state and only releases it pneumatically when a weapon barrel 12 is connected to the adapter socket 42.
[0115] In order to enable the extraction of hot air from the weapon barrel 12 or its cooling, or alternatively the extraction of cold air located in the weapon barrel 12 and any condensate present therein, i.e. the passage of warm air and the associated heating of the weapon barrel 12, the insertion or attachment area 50 is hollow on the inside, so that the tempering air can be extracted from the weapon barrel 12 stored in the storage device 46 via the adapter socket 42, the interior of the insertion or attachment area 50, and the suction hose 18 pneumatically coupled thereto, and can be conveyed to the suction device 16 via the tempering device 14. The suction device 16 preferably has a filter device, in particular a HEPA filter, to clean the extracted air.
[0116] Overall, the previously described tempering system 10 represents a particularly advantageous possibility for tempering and cleaning firearms, while advantageously providing the possibility of safe storage at the same time.
[0117] Fig. 8 shows in several illustrations in perspective, in a side view, lower and upper plan view and as a sectional view AA an embodiment of a barrel adapter element 36 as a barrel adapter element for a single-barreled weapon with a silencer 60, which can be coupled gas-tight to the muzzle region of a single barrel with a silencer. The barrel adapter element 60 has a side 62 facing a muzzle region, i.e. the barrel, and a side 64 facing a suction hose. The side 62 facing the barrel is designed as a conical adapter socket 42. In the direction of the side 64 facing the suction hose, a constriction region 72 is provided, which serves as a stop both for the muzzle region of the weapon, which can be inserted into the adapter socket 42, and for the suction hose 18. The side 64 facing the suction hose is cup-shaped.Three circumferentially evenly distributed reinforcing ribs 68 serve to mechanically stabilize the barrel adapter element 60. The barrel adapter element 60 can be manufactured in one piece from silicone, heat-resistant rubber, or a heat-resistant plastic or metal such as aluminum, and can be individually adapted to a specific weapon, in particular as a 3D-printed product. The side facing the muzzle area 62 can have an outer diameter d8.1, which can be, for example, 65-68 mm, in particular 68 mm. The inner diameter d8.2 can be between 55-62 mm, in particular 58.93 mm. The constriction area 72 can have chronologically successive inner diameters d8.3, d8.4, and d8.5, which can taper, for example, from 34.21 mm to 23.41 mm to 16.63 mm + / - 3 mm. The side 64 facing the suction hose can have an outer diameter d8.7 of 39.5 mm and an inner diameter d8.6 of 35.5 mm. The length L8.2 of the side 62 facing the outlet area can be, for example, 50 mm, whereby this can be closed off by a flange area of length l8.3 with a length of 5 mm. The side 64 facing the suction hose can have a length l8.1 of 72 mm. In . Fig.9 is a perspective view, a top view of the side 62 facing the muzzle area, and a sectional view BB of another embodiment of a barrel adapter element 36 as a barrel adapter element 70 for a triple barrel of a weapon. A triple barrel can, for example, comprise two barrels for bullets of different calibers and a shotgun barrel, or two shotgun barrels and a bullet barrel as a barrel bundle. The side 62 facing the barrel is surrounded by an edge surface 82, which provides mechanical stabilization when the barrel adapter element 70 is placed on the muzzle area of the triple barrel. Within the side 62 facing the barrel, a barrel flange 80 is provided at a constriction area with individual air channels (not visible) assigned to the barrels. The barrel flange 80 comprises a first barrel receptacle 74, a second barrel receptacle 76, and a third barrel receptacle 78. The outer diameter d9.1 and inner diameter d9.2 of the side 64 facing the suction hose can be 43.5 or 35.5 mm. The total length l9.1 of the barrel adapter element 70 can be 72 mm. The inner diameter d9.3 and outer diameter d9.4 of the side 62 facing the muzzle area can be 46 mm and 50 mm, respectively. Otherwise, the same applies to the barrel adapter element 80 as already stated for the barrel adapter element 70, particularly with regard to material selection and function.
[0118] The above numerical values of diameters and lengths can be specifically adapted to each weapon and, for example, have a tolerance of + / - 5 mm.
