Abstract
Description
TECHNICAL AREA
[0001] The present invention relates to a holder with a retractable pin for attachment to motorcycles. BACKGROUND
[0002] Some people ride motorcycles for fun. Most riders, especially those of larger motorcycles, install mobile phone mounts on their bikes to use their phones hands-free. In addition to using them for navigation to unfamiliar destinations, they can also use their phones for other functions, such as recording the ride and playing music at the right time, which provides more comfort and enjoyment while riding.
[0003] To ensure their safety while driving, most motorcyclists wear protective clothing, leather boots, gloves, and a helmet. However, gloves significantly hinder the use of a mobile phone's touchscreen. To solve this problem, some drivers have resorted to temporarily stopping to remove their gloves when they want to use the touchscreen to operate their mobile phone, which causes considerable inconvenience.
[0004] Another practice some riders used to do was carry a pen and use it to operate their mobile phone. To prevent the pen from falling or getting lost, a coiled telescopic cord was often attached to the pen, and the other end of the cord was secured to the motorcycle or the rider. However, this method can easily cause the coiled cord to flap uncontrollably in the wind when the motorcycle is traveling at high speed or in strong winds. This is not only distracting but also dangerous, as the coiled cord can flap excessively or even fall off.
[0005] Solutions have been sought for a long time, but previous developments have not taught or suggested complete solutions, and satisfactory solutions to these problems have long remained hidden from experts. Therefore, there is still a significant need for devices and procedures that provide convenient and secure storage and delivery of a stylus for operating a mobile device. SUMMARY
[0006] The present invention relates to a holder with a retractable pen storage compartment and a method for using and manufacturing it, wherein convenient and safe storage and provision of a pen is provided. The holder with retractable pin storage and the method comprise: a mounting arrangement configured to be fixed to an installation piece; a support unit pivotably attached to the mounting arrangement and comprising a chamber, the chamber being accessible from the outside; a pin that can be inserted into the chamber, the pin having a pin tip and an end with a connection point, the end with the connection point being arranged away from the pin tip; and a cord winding device arranged within the support unit, the cord winding device comprising a cord, the cord extending into the chamber, the cord being attached to the connection point of the pin, the cord winding device having an extendable or retractable cord.provides an uncoiled configuration that allows a user to handle the pen outside the chamber, and wherein the cord winding device provides a coiled configuration in which a restoring or coiling force is applied to the cord and the pen is positioned inside the chamber.
[0007] The invention aims to provide a holder with a retractable pen storage compartment that can be attached directly to a mount on the motorcycle. The pen can be easily pulled out of the holder for use and can be automatically retracted into its original position by means of a retracted cord after use. This not only makes riding safer but also more convenient for the rider to use a stylus to operate their mobile phone via its touchscreen.
[0008] To solve the above-mentioned problem, the following technical solutions are provided in the present invention:
[0009] The present invention provides a holder with retractable pen storage, comprising: a mounting assembly, a support unit, a pen, and an automatic cord rewind device. When used as "and / or," the term "and / or" indicates the following combinations: one or more of the elements listed.
[0027] As in Fig. 1 and Fig. Figure 2 shows a holder according to the invention with retractable pen storage comprising the following: a mounting arrangement 10, a support unit 20, a pen 30, and an automatic cord winding device 40. The mounting arrangement 10 serves to hold the holder on an installation or mounting piece 50, which is, for example, a support rod on the motorcycle handlebars. The support unit 20 is pivotably attached to the mounting arrangement 10. The support unit 20 has a chamber 21 that is accessible from the outside and is in contact with the environment. The pen 30 is partially inserted or retracted into the chamber 21, and the pen 30 has a pen tip 31 and a connection point 32 that is located away from and opposite the pen tip 31.The automatic cord rewind device 40 is provided within the carrying unit 20, wherein the automatic cord rewind device 40 is equipped with an elastic cord 41 that extends into the chamber 21, the cord 41 being connected to the connection point 32, allowing the user to remove the pin 30 from the chamber 21 for use. When not in use, the cord 41 pulls on the connection point 32, causing the pin 30 to retract into the chamber 21. The cord rewind device 40 provides an unwound configuration that allows a user to use the pin 30 outside the chamber 21, wherein the cord rewind device 40, with the retracting force acting on the cord 41 and the pin 30, provides a retracted configuration in which the pin 30 is positioned within the chamber 21 as soon as the user releases the pin 30.
[0028] The following is the Fig. 3. The visible structure of the holder with retractable pen storage is described.
[0029] The fastening arrangement 10 is used for attachment to the mounting piece 50. In the present embodiment, the mounting piece 50 is a support bar near the handlebars of the heavy motorcycle. Since most current support bars are cylindrical, the fastening arrangement 10 of the holder with retractable pin storage is designed to be fixed to a cylindrical mounting piece 50. The fastening arrangement 10 has a first arc-shaped element 11 and a second arc-shaped element 12. The main bodies of the first arc-shaped element 11 and the second arc-shaped element have the shape of a semicircular arc. After joining, the two arc-shaped elements can be fixed to the circular outer wall of the mounting piece 50.A connection between the first arc-shaped element 11 and the second arc-shaped element 12 is pivotally designed at one end of the coupling, while the other end is secured with a screw 14 and a screw nut 15 to achieve the required strength or clamping force.
[0030] To increase strength and clamping force, as well as the range of applications, the mounting assembly 10 also features a C-shaped, non-slip piece 13. During installation, the C-shaped, non-slip piece 13 can be temporarily stretched to open and then positioned against the outer wall of the mounting piece 50. The first arc-shaped element 11 and the second arc-shaped element 12 are then connected and clamped to or over the outer wall of the C-shaped, non-slip piece 13 to achieve excellent strength and clamping force when subsequently locked. Furthermore, the diameter of the mounting piece 50 can vary depending on the type of heavy motorcycle used with the retractable pin storage holder. In this case, by replacing the C-shaped, non-slip pieces 13 with different inner diameters, the first arc-shaped element 11 and the third arc-shaped element 12 can be clamped and locked, without having to replace the first arc-shaped element 11 and the second arc-shaped element 12, thus extending the range of applications of the holder with retractable pen storage at a lower cost.
[0031] The carrying unit 20 serves to store the pin 30 and is pivotably mounted on the mounting assembly 10. The pivoting design is intended to provide the user with several angles for retrieving the pin 30. The carrying unit 20 comprises a first housing 22, a second housing 23, and a chamber housing 24. The automatic cord rewind device 40 and the chamber housing 24 are located in a space formed by the connection of the first housing 22 and the second housing 23. The chamber housing 24 has a chamber 21 that is connected to the outside via an opening. The chamber 21 is trumpet-shaped and tapers from the outside to the inside, allowing the cord 41 to gently retract the pin 30 into the chamber 21. The chamber housing 24 has another hole 241 located away from the opening of the chamber 21.The cord 41 of the automatic cord winding device 40 extends through the hole 241 into the chamber 21.
[0032] In the present embodiment, the inner wall of the first housing 22 also has at least one first convex strip 221, and the inner wall of the second housing 23 has at least one second convex strip 231. At the corresponding position, the outer wall of the chamber housing 24 has at least one concave groove 242. When the first housing 22 and the second housing 23 are joined, the first convex strip 221 and the second convex strip 231 are located in the corresponding concave groove 242 of the chamber housing 24, and then an adhesive is applied to create the connection; therefore, the position of each component does not move randomly or uncontrollably.
[0033] Additionally, the support unit 20 is pivotably mounted on the mounting assembly 10. This pivotable design is provided with a shaft 25 on the outer wall of the support unit 20, the outer wall of the mounting assembly 10 being formed with a shaft seat 16. In the present embodiment, the shaft 25 extends from the outer wall of the second housing 23, which faces the mounting assembly 10, with the shaft seat 16 being located on the outer wall of the first arcuate element 11, which faces the support unit 20. During assembly, the shaft 25 is locked onto the shaft seat 16 after being positioned, without hindering the rotation of both. Furthermore, the shaft 25 is locked with a suitable tightness so that the support unit 20 can be positioned at this angle after it has been rotated and its position on the mounting assembly 10 has been set, as shown in Fig. 1 or 2 are shown.
[0034] The pen 30 is equipped with a pen tip 31 and a connection point 32 located away from the pen tip 31. The pen 30 uses the pen tip 31 to touch the touchscreen of the mobile phone for its operation, and the connection point 32 serves to connect to the cord 41. As shown in Fig. As shown in Figure 4, the stylus 30 has a soft, tubular wall 33. The tubular wall 33 can, for example, be made of rubber. The tubular wall 33 has at least one vertex 34 that rises in the form of a mountain peak, ridge, or crest. In the present embodiment, three vertices 34 are spaced apart from each other at equal angles in the circumferential direction. If it rains or water droplets are present on the touchscreen, the vertices 34 can be used to wipe the water droplets off the screen surface, thus preventing the stylus tip 31 from being damaged and losing its sensing function or inductive coupling when it comes into contact with the touchscreen.
[0035] The automatic cord rewind device 40 is an existing product and is equipped with an elastic cord 41. The cord 41 is preferably a metal wire. The automatic cord rewind device 40 is provided with an elastic return element (not shown) and a pawl element (not shown). The pawl can temporarily lock the cord 41 after it has been pulled out to stop it from retracting. This is useful for using the pin 30 when a retracting force is applied to the cord 41. The cord 41 must first be pulled slightly to release the pawl element and trigger the retraction mechanism. The elastic return element then quickly retracts the cord 41 after the external force (the user holding the pin) is released, retracting the cord 41 and returning it to the chamber after use.
[0036] Fig.Figure 5 shows a schematic view of the actual use of the holder with retractable stylus storage. A mobile phone holder 60 is mounted on the mounting bracket 50 of the heavy motorcycle. The holder according to the invention is also mounted on the round, rod-shaped mounting bracket 50 by means of the fastening arrangement 10. If, after mounting, the rider or user cannot operate the touchscreen of the mobile phone due to wearing gloves, they can easily remove the stylus 30 from the chamber 21 of the support unit 20 and use the stylus 30 to touch the touchscreen of the mobile phone. When the stylus 30 is no longer in use, the user gently pulls on the cord 41 to trigger the cord retraction mechanism of the automatic cord winder 40, so that the cord 41 pulls at the connection point 32 to retract the stylus 30 into the chamber 21.This not only makes it more convenient for users of heavy motorcycles to use their mobile phones, but also eliminates exposed ropes or wires, making motorcycling safer.
