Description

Capped containers such as, for example. Barrels or barrels are often closed with the aid of so-called tension closures in order to bring about an adequate sealing pressure between container and lid by tensioning the closure. Known closures of this type consist of a base plate which is to be fastened to the container and on which a lever is pivotably mounted. The lever in turn carries a clamping bracket in a pivotable manner. The clamping bracket interacts with a hook provided on the cover. For this purpose, the clamping bracket can be provided, for example, with suitable holding means. The clamping closures operate according to the eccentric principle. For this purpose, the lever is pivotably mounted in a bearing block which is arranged on the base plate. The clamping bracket is in turn pivotably mounted in the lever. The bearing point is arranged at a distance from the axis of rotation of the lever. A pivoting movement of the lever therefore leads to a rotational and translatory movement of the bearing point of the clamping bracket. The known clamping closures are attached to the respective container predominantly by screw connections. For this purpose, both the container and the base plate of the clamping closure have holes through which the screws are guided. Nuts are then screwed onto these, whereby the fastening is reliably ensured. This type of fastening has proven to be rather complicated to assemble, however. This is due to the fact that the worker must, on the one hand, put the clamping closure into position on the outside of the container, so that the holes in the base plate of the clamping closure are aligned with the holes formed in the container. On the other hand, the worker must pass the screw from the outside through the holes and then screw the nut from the inside of the container onto the thread of the screw. The screw must be fixed from the outside with a suitable tool, so that it cannot rotate along when the nut is fastened. This is very cumbersome for the worker, since the worker must hold the clamping closure in position, then must guide the screw through the holes and, to a good end, still must position the nut and rotate it onto the thread. Depending on the installation situation, it is even necessary to add a second worker in order to mount the clamping closure. This type of assembly can only be carried out when the clamping closure is fully open, since otherwise the perforations in the bearing plate are covered by the clamping bracket, the screws cannot be passed through and the tool for fixing the screws cannot be attached during the assembly of the nut.Against this background, the object of the present invention is to create a clamping closure which, with the same clamping properties, enables a considerably simpler assembly. According to the invention, this object is achieved with the features of claim 1.The invention provides a clamping closure which, with the same clamping properties, enables a considerably simpler assembly. This is achieved in that the fastening holes are provided with internal threads into which the fastening screws for the clamping closure can be easily screwed from the interior of the container. Consequently, it is not necessary to first pass a screw from the outside through the holes, onto which a nut is then screwed from the inside. This saves time and costs during assembly. In addition, the assembly can be carried out with the clamping closure completely closed, which corresponds to the delivery state. With a corresponding length of the screws, which is matched to the wall thickness of the container, a possible loosening of the screw connection from the outside is evident, because in such a case the end of the screw no longer ends flush.Advantageously, the fastening holes are each adjoined in the axial direction by grommets in which the internal threads continue. The respective internal thread is extended beyond the height of the fastening holes by the grommets, which increases the stability of the screw connection after the mounting of the clamping closure because a larger number of thread turns of the thread combination of internal thread of the base plate and external thread of the screw are engaged with one another. In a further development of the invention, the grommets protrude beyond the base plate in the direction of the side facing away from the mounting side. As a result, the bearing surface of the clamping closure is not changed and enables a planar bearing of the clamping closure on the respective container.Other developments and embodiments of the invention are specified in the remaining dependent claims. An exemplary embodiment of the invention is illustrated in the drawings and is described in detail below. The following are shown: FIG. 1 is a view of a clamping closure according to the invention in the locking position; FIG. 2 is a top view of the clamping closure shown in FIG. 1.The clamping closure selected as an exemplary embodiment serves for the secure fastening of a lid to a container, which is preferably a drum or a barrel. The clamping closure comprises a base plate 1 on which a lever 2 is pivotably mounted. The lever 2 carries a clamping bracket 3. the clamping bracket 3 is pivotably positioned in the lever 2. The pivot angle is approximately 180°, as can be seen in particular from FIG. 1. A spring retainer 4 is arranged on the base plate 1.The base plate 1 is made of steel in the exemplary embodiment. This is a stamped and bent part. The base plate 1 has at one end two bearing blocks 11 lying opposite one another, each of which is provided with a bearing eye 12 which are aligned with one another. In the region of the end facing away from the bearing blocks 11, a lock eye 13 oriented at right angles to the base plate 1 is formed on a longitudinal side of the base plate 1.The base plate 1 is provided with mounting holes 14. In the exemplary embodiment, two fastening holes 14 are provided, which are arranged on the longitudinal center line of the base plate 1. The mounting holes 14 are provided with internal threads. The fastening holes 14 are each adjoined in the axial direction by grommets 15 in which the internal threads of the fastening holes 14 continue. The grommets 15 protrude beyond the base plate 1 in the direction of the side facing away from the mounting side. The lever 2 has a substantially U-shaped configuration. It therefore has two legs 21, which are connected to one another at their one end by an arc 22. In the region of the bend 21, the lever 2 is oriented at an angle to the legs 21. At the ends facing away from the bend 22, the lever 2 has cheeks 23. The cheeks 23 and the region adjacent to them are oriented at an angle to the limbs 21.The lever 2 is pivotably mounted in the bearing block 11 of the base plate 1. For this purpose, circular receptacles 24 are formed in the cheeks 23 of the lever 2 at their ends facing away from the bend 22, which, in the mounted state of the lever 2, are aligned with the bearing eyes 12 in the bearing blocks 11 of the base plate 1. The receptacles 24 and the holes 12 are each penetrated by a rivet 25 which forms the pivot axis for the lever 2. This pivot axis is oriented at right angles to the longitudinal center line of the lever 2 and the base plate 1. Adjacent to the receptacles 24, the cheeks 23 each have a circular opening 26 on their side facing the bend 21.The clamping bracket 3 is designed as an extruded part in the exemplary embodiment. It has a round cross section and has at its one end a bolt receptacle 31 oriented at right angles to the longitudinal center line of the clamping bracket 3. In the mounted state of the clamping bracket 3, the bolt receptacle 31 is aligned with the openings 26 in the cheeks 23 of the lever 2; in the mounted state of the clamping bracket 3, a bearing bolt 32 passes through the bolt receptacle 31 and the openings 26, which bolt bolt forms the pivot axis of the clamping bracket 3.At its end facing away from the bolt receptacle 31, the clamping bracket 3 is provided with a holding means 33. In the exemplary embodiment, the holding means 33 has a T-shaped configuration. It is screwed onto the free end of the clamping bracket 3. For this purpose, the clamping bracket 3 is provided with an external thread 34 at its end facing away from the bolt receptacle 31.The holding means 33 is secured by a nut 35 screwed onto the external thread 34. In a modification of the exemplary embodiment, holding means of different design can also be used, for example. Lugs, straps or the like, which are capable of corresponding to hooks arranged on the cover of the respective container. The clamping closure according to the invention functions in a known manner. Moving the lever 2 results in a pivoting movement of the lever about the pivot axis formed by the bearing eyes 12 and the rivets 25. At the same time, this pivoting movement of the lever 2 leads to a rotational movement of the pivot axis of the clamping bracket 3 formed by the bolt receptacle 31, the openings 26 and the bearing bolt 32 about the pivot axis of the lever. In addition, pivoting of the lever 2 brings about a translatory movement of the holding means 33 in the direction facing away from the base plate 1. In this way, the holding means 33 can be guided behind a hook or the like attached to a cover. For clamping the closure, the lever 2 is then pivoted in the opposite direction, whereby the holding means 33 moves in the direction facing the base plate 1 and the combination of holding means 33 and the holder arranged on the lid of the container is clamped.During this movement, the lever 2 passes the spring retainer 4, which is arranged on the base plate 1 on the longitudinal side of the base plate 1 opposite the lock eye 13. The spring securing means 4 is designed in the manner of a rolled spring steel strip. The clamping closure has reached its final locking position when the clamping lever 2 has assumed its position shown in FIG. 1. In this position, the leg 21 positioned on the side of the spring retainer 4 comes to lie under the spring retainer 4.To fasten the clamping closure to a container, the base plate 1 is screwed by means of the internal threads formed in the fastening holes 14 and the adjoining grommets 15. The base plate 1 is produced in a follow-on composite tool in which the fastening holes 14 are first pre-perforated and subsequently deep-drawn to the final dimension, whereby the grommets 15 are simultaneously formed. Thereafter, the internal threads are rolled or cut into the mounting holes 14 and the grommets 15.The internal threads in the fastening holes 14 and the grommets 15 substantially simplify the fastening of the clamping closure to a container. The worker merely has to position the base plate 1 with its fastening holes 14 aligned over the corresponding holes in the container and pass screws through and screw into the internal threads. Both the previous complete opening of the clamping closure and the complicated fixing of the screw heads from the outside during the simultaneous screwing on and fixing of the nut from the inside are dispensed with. Thus, the assembly can be easily performed by a single worker. This saves time and costs.
