Abstract

Foldable picnic blanket (1) for preferred outdoor use, with a blanket surface (9) whose underside (2) is moisture-repellent, characterized in that the blanket surface (9) of the picnic blanket (1) consists of at least three different layers (2 to 4), the edges of which are firmly connected to one another via a circumferential seam (8), wherein the cover surface (9) is completely or partially quilted and is designed to be foldable into an integrated carrying bag (10).

Description

[0001] The present invention relates to a picnic blanket which is preferably used in leisure activities and outdoors and can be easily folded for transport.

[0002] Picnic blankets or other blankets used as ground coverings for people to use outdoors are well-known and appreciated in numerous different designs. They provide inadequate protection for those lying on them from dirt, such as grass or sand, and only to a limited extent from penetrating ground moisture. Transporting such blankets requires unnecessary space and storage. Therefore, there are proposals to design such picnic blankets so that they are foldable and transportable and also offer moisture protection.

[0003] For example, European patent EP2043487B1 discloses a blanket in which the blanket is wrapped around a specially designed bag for transport.

[0004] The described ceiling has zippers or similar fastening devices on all four sides and can be combined with similar ceilings of the same design to create larger ceiling areas. Moisture protection is not provided.
