Abstract

Data processing system for sensor-based control of hair coloring services, comprising: (a) a sensor unit integrated into a handheld color application tool (10) with at least one sensor for detecting a physical quantity acting on the hair during color application; (b) a saturation estimation unit (31) which calculates a real-time saturation metric per hair section from a temporal profile of the measurement data acquired by the sensor unit, wherein the saturation metric represents an estimated value for the degree of coverage of the hair section with coloring agent; (c) a feedback unit with at least one signal transmitter (13, 14) arranged on the color application tool (10) which signals at least three distinguishable states based on the saturation metric: saturated, undersaturated and supersaturated.
