AI Technical Summary
Conventional hand-held processing devices, such as chainsaws, face challenges in the positional configuration of the lubricant pump drive and the connection of the drive motor to the motor housing, which affects the device's center of gravity, handling, and force loads.
The lubricant pump drive area and the tool drive area of the drive shaft are positioned on opposite sides of the rotor, allowing for a shorter drive shaft and a closer stator/rotor structure to the tool drive area, reducing force loads and enabling a more compact design with reduced weight.
This configuration improves handling by lowering the center of gravity and reduces force loads, enabling weight-reduced designs and a more compact structure, while eliminating the need for additional connecting means between the stator carrier and the rail fastening plate.
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a hand-held processing device according to the preamble of claim 1. Such devices are commonly used, for example, in the fields of gardening and forestry technology, as well as construction and DIY technology. In particular, the device can be designed as a chainsaw or a power cutter in corresponding embodiments of the invention.
[0002] Such machining devices comprise a motor housing, a holding body arranged in a side region of the motor housing, which can be designed in particular as a holding plate and serves to hold a guide element protruding from the motor housing for a machining tool rotating or rotating around the guide element, and an electric drive motor arranged in the motor housing for driving the machining tool. The drive motor has a drive shaft with a tool drive region extending through the holding body and a rotor mounted on the drive shaft in a rotationally fixed manner.
[0003] The holding body can, for example, be a cantilever body having a region on the motor housing side and a region protruding from the motor housing for rotationally holding the machining tool. A tool coupling element for coupling the machining tool to the drive shaft can be arranged in the cantilever body in a rotationally fixed manner on the tool drive region of the drive shaft.
[0004] Furthermore, the machining device has a lubricant pump drive coupled to a lubricant pump drive area of the drive shaft for driving a lubricant pump arranged in the motor housing for supplying the machining tool with lubricant, e.g. with lubricating oil, for which purpose the lubricant pump drive can have, for example, a lubricant pump coupling element arranged in a rotationally fixed manner on a lubricant pump drive area of the drive shaft.
[0005] The processing device can be designed, for example, as a chainsaw, in which the holding body has a rail mounting plate as the motor housing-side area for the external attachment of a guide rail as a portion protruding from the motor housing for the circumferentially rotating support of a saw chain as the processing tool. Accordingly, in this case, the tool drive area forms a chain drive area, and the tool coupling element forms a chain coupling element.
[0006] Chainsaws of this type are primarily used as so-called cordless saws, in which the electric drive motor is powered by a rechargeable battery, preferably located on or in the motor housing. They are manufactured and sold, for example, by the applicant in various designs, both the so-called rearhandle type with the main handle located at the rear of the motor housing and the so-called tophandle type with the main handle located at the top of the motor housing. The lubricant pump drive drives a lubricant pump, which can be used to pump the lubricant from a lubricant tank to the rail mounting plate and thus to the saw chain. This pump is driven by the drive motor, which also drives the saw chain. The stator carrier of the drive motor is usually prefabricated as a sleeve-shaped component that supports a stator / rotor structure of the drive motor and is held to an inner side of the rail fastening plate via a flange using screw connections.
[0007] In these commercially available chainsaws, the lubricant pump drive section of the drive shaft, on which the lubricant pump coupling element is located, is typically located between the chain drive section, on which the chain coupling element for coupling the saw chain to the drive shaft is located, and the rotor or stator. This positioning of the lubricant pump coupling element allows the lengths of lubricant lines required to transport lubricant from a lubricant tank via the lubricant pump to the rail mounting plate to be kept relatively short.
[0008] German Patent Application DE 10 2010 033 489 A1 discloses a hand-held processing device in the form of a chainsaw. In the aforementioned manner, the lubricant pump drive section is located between the chain drive section and the stator or rotor, and the stator carrier is mounted on the rail mounting plate as a prefabricated, sleeve-shaped component. Specifically, a lubricant pump pinion meshes with a cup-shaped worm gear, which is non-rotatably mounted at its cup edge on the base of a cup-shaped brake drum, which in turn is non-rotatably mounted on the drive shaft.
[0009] The patent specification JP 6266304 B2 discloses a jigsaw with a sawing tool that moves back and forth in translation and is driven by an electric drive motor, the stator / rotor structure of which is held on a sleeve-shaped support part that projects from an inner housing body in which a gear acting between the drive motor and the sawing tool is arranged.
[0010] Other hand-held processing devices of a similar type are disclosed, for example, in the published patent applications EP 3 195 721 A2, WO 82 / 00508 A1 and US 2011 / 005088 A1 as well as in the utility model DE 88 16 301 U1.
[0011] German Patent Application DE 10 2019 000 152 A1 discloses a handheld processing device of the type mentioned above, i.e., according to the preamble of claim 1, in the form of a chain or power saw. In processing devices of this type, the lubricant pump drive area and the tool drive area of the drive shaft are located on opposite sides of the rotor.
[0012] The invention is based on the technical problem of providing a hand-held processing device of the type mentioned at the outset, which has advantageous technical innovations compared to the above-mentioned prior art, in particular with regard to the positional configuration of the lubricant pump drive and / or with regard to the connection of the drive motor to the motor housing.
[0013] The invention solves this problem by providing a hand-held processing device with the features of claim 1. The processing device can in particular be a chainsaw.
[0014] The machining device according to the invention comprises, as already mentioned, a motor housing, a holding body arranged in a side region of the motor housing for holding a guide element protruding from the motor housing for a machining tool that rotates or revolves around the guide element, an electric drive motor arranged in the motor housing for driving the machining tool, wherein the drive motor has a drive shaft with a tool drive region leading through the holding body and a rotor held non-rotatably on the drive shaft, and a lubricant pump drive coupled to a lubricant pump drive region of the drive shaft for driving a lubricant pump arranged in the motor housing for supplying the machining tool with lubricant. The lubricant pump drive region and the tool drive region of the drive shaft are located on opposite sides of the rotor.
[0015] Compared to the conventional positioning of the lubricant pump coupling element between the rotor or stator and the tool drive area of the drive shaft, and thus on an outward-facing side of the rotor / stator of the electric drive motor, this means a shift to the side of the rotor / stator facing away from the tool drive area of the drive shaft and inward from the motor housing. This does not follow the common goal of positioning the lubricant pump coupling element on the drive shaft in an area that allows for minimal lubricant line lengths. However, it has unexpectedly been shown that this measure can achieve other advantages that may be more important in many applications.
[0016] With this choice of lubricant pump drive section of the drive shaft on the rotor / stator side of the drive motor facing away from the tool drive section of the drive shaft, the drive shaft can be shortened compared to conventional designs, and the actual structure of the drive motor, i.e. its stator and rotor structure, can be located closer to the tool drive section than with the aforementioned conventional designs with the lubricant pump drive section located between this stator / rotor structure and the tool drive section. The shorter distance between the stator / rotor structure and the tool drive section offers advantages with regard to the center of gravity of the device and thus for its handling. In particular, by shifting the stator / motor structure towards the tool drive section of the drive shaft, the center of gravity of the drive motor can be moved closer to the longitudinal center axis of the device, which can make it easier for the user to pivot the device during use.
[0017] As a further advantage, if necessary, a motor mount with a main bearing can be provided for supporting the drive motor in chainsaws. This can be positioned at a significantly shorter distance from the tool drive area than in conventional chainsaws, which can significantly reduce force loads. In particular, force moment loads caused by transverse forces on the saw chain guide bar can be reduced. Due to the lower force loads, weight-reduced designs can be used for the drive shaft and stator carrier, such as a drive shaft with a smaller shaft diameter and / or a smaller stator carrier, which contributes to a low overall weight of the chainsaw.
[0018] According to the invention, the drive motor comprises a stator support, which is formed integrally with a region of the support body located inside the motor housing. A stator of the drive motor can be held in a rotationally fixed manner on the stator support, with the drive shaft extending through it and / or being mounted on it by means of a motor bearing.
[0019] This one-piece design of the stator carrier and a section of the holding body inside the motor housing enables a corresponding reduction in the number of components for the machining device and a corresponding reduction in assembly effort. Since this eliminates the need for connecting elements between the stator carrier and the rail mounting plate, there is no need to ensure that these connecting elements are sufficiently strong and meet the desired power transmission characteristics.
[0020] In a further development of the invention, the lubricant pump drive area is located on a front end section of the drive shaft, inside the motor housing. This means positioning a lubricant pump coupling element of the lubricant pump drive on the inner front end of the drive shaft and thus at the maximum distance from the tool drive area on the opposite shaft end. In alternative embodiments, the lubricant pump drive area is located between this front end section of the drive shaft, inside the motor housing, and the rotor.
[0021] In a further development of the invention, the chainsaw has a fan blower with a fan wheel that is drivable by the drive motor and arranged coaxially to the drive shaft, wherein the lubricant pump drive area is located on a side of the fan wheel facing away from the rotor or a lubricant pump coupling element of the lubricant pump drive is formed integrally with the fan wheel. In this further development, the drive motor also serves to drive the fan blower, wherein the fan wheel can be formed integrally with the rotor or located close to the rotor, in particular between the rotor and the lubricant pump drive area. If necessary, the fan wheel and the lubricant pump coupling element are formed from the same component. This can save installation space and contribute to achieving a short overall length for the drive shaft. In alternative designs, the lubricant pump drive area is located between the rotor and the fan wheel.
[0022] In a further development of the invention, the chainsaw has a support device between a lubricant pump housing and the drive shaft, wherein the support device comprises a bearing-free support section of the lubricant pump housing or a pump housing bearing unit. Depending on the requirements and application, this support device can support the lubricant pump housing exclusively or additionally on the drive shaft, or the drive shaft can be additionally guided or supported by the lubricant pump housing, which is then sufficiently rigid. In alternative designs, such a support device is omitted, and the lubricant pump housing is then connected solely to or supported by other components in the motor housing.
[0023] In one embodiment of the invention, the chainsaw has a lubricant pump housing mount, with which the lubricant pump housing is held to the motor housing or to a component rigidly connected to the motor housing. This represents an advantageous implementation for optional additional support of the lubricant pump housing directly or indirectly to the motor housing.
[0024] In a further development of the invention, a brake drum with a cup-shaped cross-section is arranged on the drive shaft axially between the rotor and the tool drive area in a rotationally fixed manner, and a motor bearing for the drive shaft has a bearing unit that axially partially or completely overlaps with the brake drum. This design advantageously enables the provision of a mechanical brake for the drive motor while simultaneously achieving an axially compact design for the drive motor structure. The cup-shaped cross-section of the brake drum and the axial overlap of the bearing unit for the drive shaft with the brake drum contribute to this. The axial overlap is complete or partial, depending on the design and requirements. In the first case, the bearing unit lies completely within the axial height, i.e.the pot depth, the brake drum; in the other case, the bearing unit extends axially partly inside and partly outside the axial extension of the brake drum. In alternative designs, the brake drum is omitted, or at least an axial overlap of a bearing unit for the drive shaft with a brake drum is omitted.
[0025] Furthermore, despite the presence of the mechanical brake, the bearing unit in this implementation can be positioned at a relatively short distance from the tool drive area of the drive shaft, which is advantageous in terms of absorbing any force loads that may occur. Alternatively, other bearing arrangements are possible, e.g., using two bearing components on the inside of the boom mounting part.
[0026] In a further development of the invention, the processing device is designed as a power saw, and the holding body is formed as a cantilever body in the form of a rail fastening plate, which is configured for the external attachment of a guide rail as a guide element for the circumferentially rotating support of a saw chain as a processing tool. Alternatively, the processing device can be designed, for example, as a cut-off grinder. In this case, the holding body is a cantilever body in which a belt drive or the like is housed for transmitting torque from the drive shaft to a parallel, offset tool shaft, around which, in this case, the processing tool rotates.
[0027] In a further development of the invention, the holding body is made of a rigid plastic or metal material. This represents an advantageous material-technical realization for the holding body.
[0028] In one embodiment of the invention, the holding body is a cast magnesium part. This represents an advantageous design for the holding body in terms of sufficient strength and low weight. In alternative embodiments, the holding body is formed from another metallic material or a preferably fiber-reinforced plastic material.
[0029] In a further development of the invention, a stator of the drive motor is pressed onto the stator support. This provides a favorable attachment of the stator to the stator support in terms of strength and assembly effort. Alternatively, the stator can be secured to the stator support in a rotationally fixed manner by other conventional means, e.g., by means of a screw or adhesive connection.
[0030] In a further development of the invention, a motor mount of the drive motor includes at least one bearing unit on both an inner and an outer side of the support body. This provides favorable support for the drive motor on both sides of the support body in appropriate applications.
[0031] Advantageous embodiments of the invention are illustrated in the drawings. These and other advantageous embodiments of the invention are described in more detail below. Herein: Fig. 1 a partial longitudinal sectional view of a part of a chainsaw of interest here, with a one-piece design of rail fastening plate and stator carrier and with a drive shaft with tool drive area and lubricant pump drive area on a side of a stator of an electric drive motor facing away from the tool drive area, Fig. 2 a sectional view according to Fig. 1for a variant regarding the bearing of the drive shaft and the coupling of a lubricant pump drive to the lubricant pump drive area, Fig. 3 a schematic perspective view of a lubricant pump drive side of the variant of Fig. 2 , Fig. 4 a sectional view according to Fig. 1 for another version, Fig. 5 a sectional view according to Fig. 1 for yet another variant with an external instead of internal stator of the drive motor, Fig. 6 a perspective view of a lubricant pump drive side of the variant of Fig. 5 , Fig. 7 one to Fig. 1 similar sectional view with isolated representation of drive motor and stator carrier formed in one piece with a motor housing side area of a holding body and Fig. 8 a sectional view according to Fig. 7 for a modified version.
[0032] The hand-held processing device shown in the figures in various exemplary embodiments, each only in an area of interest here, is configured as an electric chainsaw, but in alternative implementations can be configured in an analogous manner as a cut-off grinder or as another hand-held device, in particular from the field of gardening and forestry technology as well as construction and DIY technology, which is equipped with the corresponding device components.
[0033] The hand-held processing device includes in the versions shown the Fig. 1 to 8 a motor housing 1 and a holding body 2 arranged in a side region of the motor housing 1. In the views of the Fig. 1, 2 , 4 , 5 , 7 and 8This side region of the motor housing 1 faces downwards. The holding body 2 is designed to hold a guide element protruding from the motor housing 1 for a processing tool that rotates or rotates around the guide element. In the case of a chainsaw, the processing tool is a saw chain that rotates around a guide rail that acts as a guide element. In the case of a cut-off machine, the holding body forms a cantilever body that projects from the motor housing 1 and has a bearing for a rotating cutting disc and accommodates a rotation transmission element, e.g., in the form of a rotating drive belt.
[0034] In corresponding embodiments, the holding body 2, as in the examples shown, holds the guide element for the machining tool on an area 2c on the outside of the motor housing.
[0035] Furthermore, the machining device includes an electric drive motor 3 arranged in the motor housing 1 for driving the machining tool, wherein the drive motor 3 has a drive shaft 6 passing through the holding body 2. For the drive motor 3, both versions with external rotor, as in the examples of Fig. 1 to 4 , 7 and 8 , as well as those with internal rotor, as in the example of the Figs. 5 and 6 .
[0036] Furthermore, the drive motor 3 includes a stator carrier 4, which is formed in one piece with a motor housing inner side region 2d of the holding body 2.
[0037] The machining device further includes a lubricant pump drive 10 coupled to a lubricant pump drive area 6b of the drive shaft 6 for driving a lubricant pump arranged in the motor housing 1 to supply the machining tool with lubricant. The lubricant can be stored in a lubricant tank 26, as is known per se, for example, as shown in FIGS. Fig. 1 and 3The lubricant pump drive region 6b and a tool drive region 6a, with which the drive shaft 6 passes through the holding body 2, are located on opposite sides 8a, 8b of a rotor 8 of the drive motor 3, which is held non-rotatably on the drive shaft 6. In the examples shown in this regard, the lubricant pump drive region 6b is also located on a side 5b of a stator 5 of the drive motor 3 opposite the tool drive region 6a. The lubricant can be, for example, a lubricating oil or another lubricating fluid for the saw chain of a chainsaw. In the case of the chainsaw embodiment, the tool drive region 6a forms a chain drive region, on which a chain coupling element 9, also referred to as a sprocket, is arranged non-rotatably for coupling the saw chain to the motor shaft 6.
[0038] In corresponding designs, the lubricant pump drive area 6b is located on a front end section 6c of the drive shaft 6 inside the motor housing, as for example in the Fig. 1, 2 and 4 clearly visible. In alternative designs, no lubricant pump drive is provided for the machining device, or the lubricant pump drive area 6b and the tool drive area 6a are located on the same side of the rotor 8.
[0039] In versions as a chainsaw, the holding body 2, as in the examples shown, typically includes a rail fastening plate 22, which is designed to secure the guide bar as a guide element for the circumferentially rotating support of the saw chain as a processing tool. The holding body can be formed entirely by the rail fastening plate 22 or, alternatively, can comprise one or more additional holding body regions.
[0040] In advantageous structural designs, the holding body 2 is made of a metal material or a rigid plastic material. For example, the holding body 2 can be a magnesium casting produced using a magnesium die-casting technique.
[0041] In corresponding implementations, a stator 5 of the drive motor 3 is held by pressing onto the stator carrier 4. Additionally or alternatively, the stator 5 can be held on the stator carrier 4 using a further or different connecting means, e.g., by screw connections 23, as in Fig. 5 shown.
[0042] In corresponding implementations, the drive motor 3 includes a motor bearing 7, which comprises at least one bearing unit 7a, 7b on an inner side 2b and an outer side 2a of the holding body 2. Thus, the drive shaft 6 can be mounted on both sides of the holding body 2 in a manner that is advantageous for many applications, as for example in the embodiment according to Fig. 1 realized.
[0043] In advantageous embodiments, the processing device also includes a fan 12 with a fan wheel 13 which can be driven by the drive motor 3 and is arranged coaxially to the drive shaft 6, wherein the lubricant pump drive area 6b is located on a side 13a of the fan wheel 13 facing away from the rotor 8, as in the examples of Fig. 1 to 4 , or a lubricant pump coupling element 11 of the lubricant pump drive 10 is formed in one piece with the fan wheel 13, as in the example of Figs. 5 and 6 .
[0044] Specifically, in the example embodiment, the Figs. 5 and 6 The lubricant pump drive 10 comprises a gear with a gear 24. On the one hand, it has an external gear ring, via which it engages with the lubricant pump coupling element 11 formed as a corresponding gear ring on the side 13a of the fan wheel 13 facing away from the rotor, and on the other hand, it interacts via a worm wheel 24a with a pump-side pinion, which is shown only schematically using a spacer 24b. This design has the advantage that the lubricant pump can be positioned comparatively close to the lubricant tank 26. Furthermore, the axial length of the motor structure of the drive motor 3 remains unaffected by the axial length of the worm wheel 24a of the lubricant pump drive 10.
[0045] In advantageous embodiments, the machining device has a support device 14 between a lubricant pump housing 15 and the drive shaft 6. For this purpose, the support device 14 includes, for example, a bearing-free support section 14a of the lubricant pump housing 15, as in the embodiments of the Fig. 1 and 4 realized, or a pump housing bearing unit 14b, as in the embodiment of the Fig. 2 and 3 realized. In the examples shown, the lubricant pump housing 15 is supported on the drive shaft 6 by means of the support device 14. In alternative embodiments, the support device 14 is selected such that the drive shaft 6 is supported on the lubricant pump housing 15. In the latter case, the lubricant pump housing 15 is designed and arranged with a correspondingly high degree of stability.
[0046] In corresponding embodiments, the machining device includes a lubricant pump housing holder 16, with which the lubricant pump housing 15 is held on the motor housing 1 or on a component 17 rigidly connected to the motor housing 1. In the embodiment of the Fig. 2 and 3 The lubricant pump housing support 16 is a support arm which is attached to a wall structure rigidly connected to the motor housing 1 and extends radially and with a small axial distance to a fan housing 25 of the fan blower 12. This component 17 can be, for example, the lubricant tank 26, if it is constructed in a correspondingly stable design, as in the example of the Fig. 2 and 3 , e.g. as a magnesium die-cast part.
[0047] The support arm formed by this design of the lubricant pump housing bracket 16 enables stable support of the lubricant pump housing 15 on the engine housing 1 or the stable component 17, so that the lubricant pump housing 15 itself can be constructed with a relatively low weight and does not need to absorb significant forces from the drive train. In this case, the fan housing 25 can also be designed with a very delicate or lightweight construction and solely to fulfill its blower air guidance function.
[0048] In the embodiment of the Fig. 4 The fan housing 25 is significantly stiffer and therefore more stable than in the example of the Fig. 2 and 3 , which in this case makes it possible to hold a lubricating oil pump assembly 27 containing the lubricating oil pump or the lubricant pump housing 15 on the fan housing 25. The same is preferably the case in the embodiment of Fig. 1 provided.
[0049] In advantageous embodiments, a brake drum 18 with a pot-shaped cross-section is arranged on the drive shaft 6 of the drive motor 3 axially between the rotor 8 and the tool drive area 6a in a rotationally fixed manner, wherein the motor bearing 7 for the drive shaft 6 has a bearing unit 7c axially overlapping the brake drum 18, as in the examples of Fig. 1 to 4 The bearing unit 7c overlaps with the axial extension of the brake drum 18 in the example of Fig. 2 completely, in the examples of Fig. 1 and 4 each partially.
[0050] The overlap allows for a particularly short axial design for the drive shaft 6 or the overall structure of the drive motor 3, while simultaneously providing the mechanical braking effect through the brake drum 18. For this mechanical braking effect, the brake drum 18 can, for example, be provided with a brake pad 18a arranged on the outside of its circumferential surface, such as in the form of a circumferential brake band. The bearing unit 7c overlapping the brake drum 18 can, in corresponding designs, as in the relevant examples shown, simultaneously form the bearing unit 7a on the outer side 2a of the holding body 2.
[0051] As the illustrated and other embodiments mentioned above clearly demonstrate, the invention provides an advantageous hand-held machining device with an electric drive motor, a motor housing, and a holding body arranged laterally thereon for a machining tool driven by the drive motor. A lubricant pump drive region and a tool drive region of the drive shaft of the drive motor are located on opposite sides of a rotor of the drive motor. Furthermore, a stator carrier for a stator of the drive motor can be formed integrally with a region of the holding body located inside the motor housing.
[0052] Arranging the lubricant pump drive on the rotor side opposite the tool coupling to the drive shaft offers various advantages, such as a shortened distance between the main bearing of the drive shaft and the drive pinion for the tool, thus reducing transverse forces on the pinion. This, in turn, under otherwise identical conditions, allows for a smaller diameter and shorter axial length of the drive shaft. Due to the lower load, it also allows for a smaller stator carrier, resulting in a significant weight reduction. The stator / rotor assembly of the drive motor can be positioned with a relatively small axial distance from the tool coupling to the drive shaft, allowing the center of gravity of the drive motor to be brought relatively close to a longitudinal central axis of the device. This can make handling and, in particular, pivoting the machining device easier for the user. The one-piece design of the stator carrier with the holding body for the tool contributes to minimizing the number of required components and to the stability of the connection of the drive motor on the one hand and the machining tool on the other hand to the holding body.
