[0007] According to a further aspect, a device for controlling an aircraft is provided, comprising a drive device, and a base system according to embodiments described herein, wherein the base flange of the base system is fastened to the drive device.
[0008] According to yet another aspect, according to claim 16, a method for manufacturing a socket system for a control stick for controlling an aircraft according to embodiments described herein is provided, comprising sliding a socket nut over a tubular receptacle of a socket flange, and securing the socket nut to the socket flange.
[0009] "Aircraft" refers, in particular, to aircraft or aircraft simulators. A control stick can be configured, in particular, for use as a control lever in front of a pilot's seat (center stick) or for use as a side stick, for example, as an active side stick. The control stick can be understood, for example, as a "control handle."
[0010] In typical embodiments, the base system is configured to be connected to a joystick. In a base system connected to a joystick, a vertical axis of the base system can, in particular, correspond at least substantially to a joystick vertical axis. Terms such as "axial" or "radial" are to be understood in particular with reference to the vertical axis of the base system.

Typically, the base nut is secured to the base flange, in particular, secured in such a way that the base nut cannot slip toward the control stick.
[0016] In some embodiments, the tubular receptacle of the base flange has a groove in the circumferential direction, with locking segments of the base system being partially arranged in the groove and forming a stop for the base nut in the direction of the control stick. In particular, the locking segments secure the base nut against the base nut slipping in the direction of the control stick. Typically, the groove is designed radially on the outside of the tubular receptacle. The groove can in particular be designed as an annular groove around the tubular receptacle. The locking segments can form a stop for the base nut in the axial direction. In some embodiments, the locking segments for a grip nut can form a further stop in the direction of the base base. In particular, the base nut can be mounted, for example, slidingly mounted, on the tubular receptacle of the base flange and on the locking segments.

The at least one recess can, for example, be designed radially outward. The at least one recess can be designed to match the at least one base projection. For example, the recess can have a straight section radially outward, which in particular matches a base projection, wherein the base projection has, for example, a circular segment-shaped cross-section in cross-section relative to the vertical axis.
[0023] The handle adapter plate can rest on a second axial base flange end face of the base flange. In embodiments, the first axial base flange end face, on which, for example, the handle plug rests, can be configured radially inside the second axial base flange end face. The first axial base flange end face and the second axial base flange end face can be configured axially offset and, for example, form a step in the radial direction.

[0029] In further typical embodiments, the handle interface may be designed as part of a bayonet connection for connection to a joystick or as part of a toggle lock for connection to a joystick or as a handle nut external thread for a union nut for fastening a joystick.
[0030] In embodiments, the grip nut, in particular the grip interface, is designed to be specific to the joystick. In particular, a grip internal thread for connecting the base system to a joystick can be adapted to a joystick external thread. For example, the grip internal thread can be adapted to a thread diameter, a thread type, or a thread length of the joystick external thread. In typical embodiments, the base system is configured for use with different types of joysticks by adapting the grip nut and the grip adapter plate.
[0031] Typically, the interface of the socket nut is connected to the fastening interface of the grip nut, with the grip nut and the socket nut being jointly mounted for rotation about the tubular receptacle of the socket flange. In particular, an external thread of the socket nut is screwed to the internal fastening thread of the grip nut. Typically, the interconnected socket nut and grip nut are jointly mounted for rotation about the tubular receptacle of the socket flange. In particular, the socket nut and grip nut are rotatably mounted on the tubular receptacle and on securing segments of the socket system. For example, the socket nut and grip nut are slidingly mounted.
[0032] In typical embodiments, the base system is configured for connection to a joystick, in particular by screwing an internal thread of the handle nut onto an external thread of the joystick, for example, by jointly rotating the screwed-together base nut and handle nut. When the joystick is screwed onto the base system, the connected base nut and handle nut can be axially supported on the securing segments.

Description of embodiments
[0046] Typical embodiments are described below with reference to the figures, whereby the invention is not limited to the embodiments, but rather the scope of the invention is determined by the claims.
[0047] In the description of the figures, the same reference numerals are used for identical or similar parts. Some features that have already been described in connection with other figures are not described again for the sake of clarity. For the sake of clarity, some features that are shown multiple times in the figures are not provided with a reference numeral, for example, the electrical contacts (reference numeral 29 in Fig. 1 ).
[0048] Fig. 1 shows a schematic sectional view of a base system 1 according to the invention. The base system 1 comprises a base flange 3 with a base base 9 and a tubular receptacle 7. The base flange 3, as well as the tubular receptacle 7 of the base flange 3, extend along a vertical axis 10 of the base system 1. The tubular receptacle 7 comprises a tapered region 15, which is arranged axially in a region of the tubular receptacle 7 adjacent to the base base 9. The base flange 3 has socket projections (in Fig. 1 concealed, see for example base projections 13 in Fig. 4 ) to prevent rotation of a handle adapter plate.
[0049] The base flange 3 is in the Fig. 1 designed as a force sensor. In the tapered area 15 of the base flange 3, sensors (not shown) are arranged, in the embodiment of the Fig. 1 Strain gauges are arranged. The sensors are configured to determine forces exerted on a control stick attached to the base system 1, for example, by a pilot's hand while controlling an aircraft. In particular, the sensors determine forces in the direction of a roll axis and a pitch axis, which are oriented orthogonally to the vertical axis 10 and orthogonally to each other. The sensors are covered by a sensor cover 21 and protected from the outside.
[0050] The base system 1 comprises a base nut 5, which surrounds the tubular receptacle 7 in the circumferential direction around the vertical axis 10. The base nut 5 has an interface 11 radially on the outside, which is designed for connection with a grip nut. Fig. 1 The interface 11 is designed as an external thread of the base nut 5. The base nut 5 has a fastening opening 31 for attaching a safety wire.
[0051] The base nut 5 is in the Fig. 1 secured by securing segments 19 against slipping from the tubular holder 7. The securing segments 19 are partially accommodated in a groove 17 of the base flange 3. The groove 17 is in the Fig. 1 for example, as an annular groove in the circumferential direction around the tubular receptacle 7.
[0052] In the Fig. 1 A handle connector 23 of the base system 1 is partially received in the tubular receptacle 7 of the base flange 3. The handle connector 23 has a radially projecting connector flange 25. The connector flange 25 lies axially on a first axial base flange end face 20 of the base flange 3. The first axial base flange end face 20 forms a step in the radial direction with a second axial base flange end face 22. The connector flange 25 is axially flush with the second axial base flange end face 22 in the direction of the control stick. The connector flange 25 has a connector anti-rotation element 27 for securing the connector flange 25 against rotation relative to a handle adapter plate. Fig. 1 The plug anti-rotation element 27 is designed as an axial recess of the plug flange 25 in the direction of the base 9. [0053] Fig. 2 shows a schematic sectional view of a base system 1, wherein the base system 1 of the Fig. 2 in particular a handle adapter plate 33 and a handle nut 41. The handle adapter plate 33 is ring-shaped and encompasses
[0054] Circumferential direction around the vertical axis 10 the handle plug 23. The handle adapter plate 33 lies axially in the direction of the socket base 9 partly on the plug flange 25 of the handle plug 23 and partly on the second axial socket flange end face 22. The handle adapter plate 33 has an adapter anti-twist element 37, which together with the plug anti-twist element 27 prevents the handle plug 23 from twisting relative to the handle adapter plate 33. In the Fig. 2 the adapter anti-rotation element 37 is designed as a nose which engages in the axial direction into the plug anti-rotation element 27 designed as an axial recess in the plug flange 25.
[0055] The handle adapter plate 33 comprises handle alignment lugs 35 axially in the direction of the control stick to prevent rotation of the control stick relative to the handle adapter plate 33. The handle adapter plate 33 has recesses to prevent rotation of the handle adapter plate 33 relative to the base flange 23, which recesses are designed to match the base projections of the base flange 3.
[0056] By arranging anti-twist devices on the handle adapter plate in the circumferential direction around the vertical axis, in particular the at least one handle alignment lug, the at least one adapter anti-twist element, or the at least one recess, the alignment of the joystick around the vertical axis can be adjusted, for example. In particular, the arrangement of the at least one recess can determine the alignment of the handle adapter plate around the vertical axis relative to the base flange. By arranging the at least one handle alignment lug, for example, the alignment of the joystick relative to the handle adapter plate can be specified. By arranging the at least one adapter anti-twist element, the alignment of the handle plug around the vertical axis, in particular the electrical contacts of the handle plug, relative to the handle adapter plate can be determined. For example, the handle adapter plate, in particular the anti-rotation devices of the handle adapter plate, can be configured such that the orientation of the electrical contacts of the handle connector around the vertical axis is coordinated with the orientation of the joystick around the vertical axis. In this context, specifying or specifying an orientation around the vertical axis is not to be understood as absolute, but rather, for example, relative to the handle adapter plate or to the base flange. In some embodiments, the joystick can be designed to be rotatable around the vertical axis together with the base flange.
[0057] The base system 1 includes Fig. 2 a grip nut 41. The grip nut 41 has a fastening interface 43, in Fig. 2 a fastening internal thread for connection with the interface 11 of the base nut 5. For example, in the Fig. 2 The internal fastening thread of the grip nut 41 is screwed to the external thread of the base nut 5. The internal fastening thread is designed, for example, as a left-hand thread. The grip nut 41 and the base nut 5 are mounted together on the base flange 3 and the locking segments 19, rotatable about the vertical axis 10.
[0058] The grip nut 41 has Fig. 2 a grip internal thread 45 for connecting the grip nut 41 to a joystick. The grip internal thread 45 is arranged axially in the direction of the joystick with respect to the fastening interface 43. The grip internal thread 45 is designed for screwing to a joystick external thread of the joystick. The grip internal thread 45 is designed, for example, as a right-hand thread.
[0059] Fig. 3 shows a sectional view of a base system 1 with a joystick 51 attached to the base system 1. The joystick 51 has a joystick external thread 55, which is screwed to the handle internal thread 45 of the handle nut 41. The joystick 51 comprises a joystick plug 57 with further electrical contacts. The further electrical contacts are connected to further control elements 53, in the Fig. 3 connected to a control switch and a trigger. The joystick connector 57 engages the handle connector 23 of the base system 1, with the additional electrical contacts of the joystick 51 contacting the electrical contacts 29 of the handle connector 23.
[0060] To control an aircraft, a pilot can, for example, exert a force on the control stick 51, particularly in a direction perpendicular to the vertical axis 10, for example, around the pitch axis or the roll axis. The force can be transmitted through the base system 1 to the base flange 3. In particular, the force can be determined as stress or strain by sensors, for example strain gauges, in the tapered region 15 of the tubular receptacle 7 and used for control.
[0061] Fig. 4 shows a schematic view of a device 70 for controlling an aircraft. The device 70 comprises a drive device 71. The drive device 71 is configured to provide electronically controlled force feedback for controlling an aircraft by a pilot. The drive device 71 comprises a first drive 73. A guide element 79 of the drive device 71 is arranged on the first shaft and rotates with the first shaft about the first axis 75. A second drive 81 of the drive device 71 is arranged on the guide element 79. The second drive 81 moves with the guide element 79. A second stator of the second drive 81 and a second shaft of the second drive 81 are rotatable relative to one another about a second axis 83.The second drive 81 has a platform 85 for fastening a base system 1. In the . Fig. 4 The platform 85 is rigidly connected to the second stator. The second shaft is rigidly connected to the guide element 79. In further embodiments, for example, the second shaft may be rigidly connected to the platform and the second stator may be rigidly connected to the guide element.
[0062] In Fig. 4 The base system 1 comprises a base flange 3, a base nut 5, locking segments 19, and a handle plug 23. The base base 9 of the base flange 3 has base openings 14. The base base 9 is screwed to the platform 85 of the drive device 71 through the base openings 14. The base flange 3 comprises base projections 13 axially in the direction of the joystick, for example, on an axial base flange end face 22, for securing a handle adapter plate against rotation relative to the base flange 3.
[0063] Fig. 5 schematically shows an embodiment of a method 100 according to the invention for producing a base system. The method 100 comprises, at 110, sliding a base nut over a tubular receptacle of a base flange toward a base of the base flange.
[0064] At 120, the base nut is secured to the base flange. Securing involves inserting locking segments into a groove in the base flange to form a stop for the base nut in the direction of the control stick.
[0065] The method 100 includes, at 130, inserting a handle plug into the tubular receptacle of the base flange. At 140, arranging a handle adapter plate on the base flange, wherein the handle adapter plate is specifically manufactured for a joystick and specifically for the orientation of the joystick.
