Description
[0001] The invention relates to a drive rod fitting for a secondary sash of a double-leaf window, a double-leaf French window, or the like without a central mullion, comprising at least one drive rod guided longitudinally displaceably on a faceplate for controlling a lock, a drive gear provided for concealed arrangement for driving the at least one drive rod, an actuating lever of the drive gear, an intermediate lever hinged to the actuating lever, and bearing means for supporting the intermediate lever on the actuating lever and for supporting the intermediate lever and the actuating lever on the drive rod and the faceplate or a second drive rod. The invention further relates to a method for mounting such a drive rod fitting on a secondary sash of a double-leaf window.
[0002] Double-leaf windows or French doors without a mullion usually have a main leaf or active leaf, which can be locked and unlocked using a handle that is accessible at all times. In the secondary leaf, or also called the passive leaf, the operating lever is located in the rebate gap between the leaves and is therefore only accessible when the main leaf is open. For this to happen, however, the operating lever must be parallel to the drive rod in the closed position. The drive rod fitting is installed in the open position, with the operating lever pivoted away from the drive rod. Since various components of the drive rod fitting are secured in the installed position by central fixings, the protruding operating lever would be a major hindrance during transport.
[0003] DE 196 25 098 C1 discloses a locking device on a concealed leaf, in which a coupling pin of a spreader mechanism is held in the open position by a locking element. The spreader mechanism is guided in elongated holes in the shape of a keyhole, with a circular hole section that releases the coupling pin. This separates the assembly position of the spreader mechanism from the opening position of the locking device. A disadvantage of this is that the spreader mechanism cannot be installed in the opening position, in which releasable fixings of the locking device are usually arranged upon initial actuation.
[0004] To avoid the problem of the protruding operating lever during transport, EP 1 420 136 A2 discloses a design for the operating lever's bearing means to be coupled to the connecting rod. The connecting rod fitting can be transported and installed with the operating lever pivoted parallel to the connecting rod. When the operating lever is first actuated into the open position, the operating lever's bearing means are coupled to the connecting rod. The connecting rod fitting can then be actuated and the center fixings released. A disadvantage of this connecting rod fitting is that the operating lever is subjected to bending stress by the connectable bearing means. Furthermore, damage to the bearing means can occur during transport.
[0005] DE 35 04 025 A1 discloses a rebate gear with two counter-rotating drive rods, in which the intermediate lever and operating lever are each connected to one of the drive rods via bearings. The bearings are guided in elongated holes in a stop plate.
[0006] The invention is based on the problem of developing a drive rod fitting of the type mentioned above in such a way that it is easy to transport and install. Furthermore, a particularly simple method for installing such a drive rod fitting is to be created.
[0007] The first-mentioned problem is solved according to the invention in that two of the bearing means have coupling means and counter-coupling means arranged on both components to be mounted together and in that in a transport position the coupling means and the counter-coupling means are separated and in an operating position the coupling means and the counter-coupling means are connected to one another and in that a central fixing is arranged between the at least one drive rod and the faceplate rail.
[0008] This design separates components of the drive gear from the connecting rod or the faceplate in the transport position. This allows both the components of the drive gear and the at least one connecting rod with the faceplate to be transported separately and in a space-saving manner. Thanks to the invention, the final assembly of the components of the drive gear to the connecting rod and the faceplate in the operating position is particularly easy after transport to the adjacent sash. Furthermore, the assembly of the assembly comprising at least one connecting rod can be automated. A central fixation of the connecting rod fitting can be created independently of the drive gear because a central fixation is arranged between the at least one connecting rod and the faceplate. Such a central fixation holds the at least one connecting rod to the faceplate and is released via the drive gear upon initial operation.Since the components of the drive gear can only be mounted in the position in which the coupling means and the counter-coupling means fit into each other, the drive gear does not require its own center fixation.
[0009] According to another advantageous development of the invention, the assembly of the drive gear on the secondary wing is simplified if the operating lever forms a pre-assembled structural unit with the intermediate lever, and if the coupling means are arranged on the bearing means between the operating lever and the intermediate lever on the drive rod and the faceplate or a second drive rod. This design allows the faceplate and the at least one drive rod to form a first assembly that can be easily transported and mounted on the secondary wing. The structural unit comprising the operating lever and the intermediate lever forms a second assembly, which is connected to the first assembly as the final assembly step.
[0010] According to another advantageous development of the invention, the coupling means are particularly simple in design if the bearing means comprise a bearing bolt with a widening or constriction as a coupling means.
[0011] According to another advantageous development of the invention, the widening or constriction can be easily fixed in a form-fitting manner by the counter-coupling means if the counter-coupling means have locking means for engaging behind the widening or engaging in the constriction of the bearing bolt.
[0012] According to another advantageous development of the invention, the counter-coupling means are particularly simple in design if the locking means comprise a spring plate.
[0013] According to another advantageous development of the invention, the counter-coupling means are constructed in a stable and process-reliable manner for particularly simple assembly if the spring plate is arranged on the side of the intermediate lever, the actuating lever or the faceplate facing the coupling means in the operating position and is covered by a holding plate having a feed opening for the bearing bolt, which is connected to the intermediate lever, the actuating lever or the faceplate.
[0014] This sandwich-like design, in which the spring plate is located in the center and held flat at least largely around its circumference, reliably prevents the spring plate from shifting, especially when inserting the bearing pin. Only the locking elements remain flexible.
[0015] According to another advantageous development of the invention, the bearing pin can be fed particularly easily if the feed opening in the holding plate is wider, at least in the longitudinal extent of the component to which it is connected, than a feedthrough for the bearing pin in one of these components. The feed opening can also be funnel-shaped in order to achieve a large opening for the bearing pin. The bearing pin is finally centered by the locking means, so that the feedthrough in the intermediate lever, the operating lever, or the faceplate is only slightly larger than the largest diameter on the bearing pin. As a result, the bearing pin has very little play, so that in the operating position, operating forces on the operating lever can be transmitted largely free of play.Since the actuating forces are transmitted predominantly in the direction of the longitudinal extension of the component, a largely play-free guide in this direction is particularly effective.
[0016] According to another advantageous development of the invention, the assembly and disassembly of the drive gear components on the other components of the connecting rod fitting is particularly simple if the coupling means and counter-coupling means are designed as screw connections. This screw connection enables a rotatable mounting and axial securing of the components.
[0017] According to another advantageous development of the invention, locking means for connecting the bearing means can be easily avoided if the bearing pin has a crossbar as a coupling means at its free end and if the counter-coupling means have a longitudinal slot for receiving the crossbar in a predetermined rotational position of the components relative to one another. This design allows the components to be joined in a predetermined rotational position in which the crossbar can be guided through the longitudinal slot. After rotation of the components, the crossbar engages behind the component having the longitudinal slot and the bearing is axially secured. This design of the coupling means and the counter-coupling means has a particularly high level of stability and is therefore particularly suitable for the bearing means of the operating lever on the at least one drive rod or the faceplate.
[0018] According to another advantageous embodiment of the invention, a superimposed position of the actuating lever and the intermediate lever can be easily secured if the actuating lever and the intermediate lever have a locking device, and if the locking device holds the actuating lever and the intermediate lever in a parallel position. This superimposed position is particularly space-saving in the transport position and, in the operating position, indicates the locking position of the drive gear. Thanks to the invention, the locking device can be used both during transport and during operation.
[0019] The second problem mentioned, namely the creation of a particularly simple method for mounting such a drive rod fitting on a secondary wing of a double-leaf window, a double-leaf French door or the like, is solved in the following order: Mounting a first assembly comprising at least one drive rod and a faceplate on the secondary wing, aligning a second assembly with components of a drive gear on the first assembly, creating a positive connection between the two assemblies, driving the drive gear to release a central fixation on the first assembly.
[0020] This design allows the assembly of the assembly comprising at least one drive rod to be mounted separately from the operating lever. Such assembly, without the need for any interfering angled or bending-stressed components, can be easily automated. After aligning the second assembly and creating a positive fit with the first assembly, the drive rod fitting is complete. The intermediate lever can be arranged on the first assembly or on the second assembly.
[0021] The invention permits numerous embodiments. To further clarify its basic principle, several of them are shown in the drawing and are described below. This shows in Fig.1 a double-leaf window with an espagnolette fitting according to the invention, Fig.2 enlarged a drive gear with adjacent further components of the espagnolette fitting from Figure 1 , Fig.3the drive gear from Figure 2 in a sectional view along the line III - III, Fig.3a a greatly enlarged section of the drive gear from Figure 3 , Fig.4the drive gear from Figure 2 in a further variant before assembly, Fig.5 another embodiment of the drive gear before assembly, Fig.6 another embodiment of the drive gear before assembly, Fig.7 the drive gear from Figure 6 seen from a drive rod.
[0022] Figure 1shows a double-sash window without a mullion, with a main sash 2 hinged to a frame 1, and a secondary sash 3 pivoting towards the main sash 2. The main sash 2 has a main sash connecting rod fitting 5, which can be driven by a handle 4 that is accessible at all times, for locking the main sash 2 in the frame 1 and the secondary sash 3. The secondary sash 3 has a drive gear 6, concealed in a rebate gap between the secondary sash 3 and the main sash 2, for driving a connecting rod fitting 7. The connecting rod fitting 7 of the secondary sash 3 locks the secondary sash 3 in the frame 1.
[0023] Figure 2shows an enlarged perspective view of the drive gear 6 of the drive rod fitting 7 of the secondary sash 3. The drive gear 6 has an operating lever 8 and an intermediate lever 9. The drive rod fitting 7 has a drive rod 11 that is guided longitudinally displaceably on a fixed faceplate 10. The operating lever 8 and drive rod 11 lie parallel one above the other. This indicates the locking position of the drive rod fitting 7 of the secondary sash 3. The operating lever 8 has a bearing means 12 for mounting on the drive rod 11 and a bearing means 13 for mounting on the intermediate lever 9. The intermediate lever 9 has a further bearing means 14 for mounting on the faceplate 10. A support element 15 for supporting the drive rod fitting 7 in a fitting groove (not shown) of the secondary sash 3 is fastened to the faceplate 10. The drive rod 11 is guided on the support element 15.
[0024] Figure 3shows the drive gear 6 from Figure 2 in a sectional view along the line III - III. In Figure 3a For clarity, a portion of the drive gear 6 is shown greatly enlarged. The intermediate lever 9 has a coupling means 16 and a counter-coupling means 17 on the bearing means 14 on the faceplate 10. The coupling means 16 have a bearing pin 18 with a widened portion 19 arranged at the free end. The counter-coupling means 17 have a locking means 20 with a spring plate 21 fastened to the intermediate lever 9. In the assembled state shown, the spring plate 21 engages behind the widened portion 19 of the bearing pin 18.
[0025] The bearing means 12 of the operating lever 8 on the drive rod 11 is constructed like the described bearing means 14 of the intermediate lever 9 on the faceplate 10 and has a locking means 22 with a spring plate 23 fastened to the drive rod 11. The locking means 22 engage behind an extension 24 of a bearing pin 25 fastened to the operating lever 8. The bearing pin 25 and the locking means 22 thus form a coupling means 26 and a counter-coupling means 27.
[0026] The operating lever 8 and the intermediate lever 9 are held in the superimposed position by a locking device 28. This allows the operating lever 8 to be deflected and the connecting rod fitting 7 to be moved into the open position only after the holding force of the locking device 28 has been overcome. A center fixation (not shown) is arranged between the support element 15 and the connecting rod 11, which holds the connecting rod 11 in a center position relative to the faceplate 10 before initial actuation. This center fixation is destroyed when the connecting rod fitting 7 is actuated for the first time. Various versions of such center fixations are known from the prior art.
[0027] Figure 4 shows the drive gear 6 from Figure 2in a further variant and with adjacent additional components of the connecting rod fitting 7 prior to assembly. The faceplate 10 and the connecting rod 11 of the connecting rod fitting 7 are mounted on the secondary sash 3 and are in the open position. The operating lever 8 and the intermediate lever 9 are moved into an open position and aligned with the components of the connecting rod fitting 7. For final assembly, the bearing pins 25, 18 of the operating lever 8 and the faceplate 10 are pressed together with the locking means 22, 20 of the connecting rod 11 and the intermediate lever 9 and locked. The locking means 20 is a spring plate 21, which is sandwiched between the underside of the intermediate lever 9 and the retaining plate 34. The intermediate lever 9 has a passage 33 for the head of the bearing pin 18. The drive gear 6 and the connecting rod 11 are thus positively connected to one another. The connecting rod fitting 7 is now fully assembled.
[0028] Figure 5 shows a further embodiment of the drive gear 106, which differs from that shown in Figure 4 It differs in that the bearing means 112, 114 of the operating lever 8 and the intermediate lever 9 on the drive rod 11 and the faceplate 10 have screw connections 29, 30. The screw connections 29, 30 thus form coupling means 116 and counter-coupling means 117 for the rotatable mounting and axial securing of the components. The final assembly of the components of the drive gear 6 on the faceplate 10 and the drive rod 11 is thus carried out by screwing.
[0029] Figure 6 shows a further embodiment of the drive gear 6, which differs from that of Figure 4 only differs in that a bearing pin 225 of the actuating lever 8 has a crosspiece 31 as a coupling means 226 at its free end. Figure 7shows in an opposite view that the drive rod 11 has a longitudinal slot 32 as a counter-coupling means 227 for receiving the crossbar 31. Crossbar 31 and longitudinal slot 32 can only be mounted in a predetermined rotational position of the components relative to each other. The coupling of the intermediate lever 9 to the faceplate 10 is as shown in Figure 3 described.
