Description

[0001] The invention relates to a laying box for insertion into a floor structure and for receiving a drain fitting for the production of a water drain embedded in a screed according to the preamble of patent claim 1.

[0002] Showers are often designed to be flush or nearly flush with the floor, with little or no elevation relative to the floor level. Therefore, the shower drain fitting must be installed near the floor structure, usually in the screed. Installing such drain fittings is often difficult, as it sometimes becomes apparent during or after the screed is being laid that the drain is positioned too high or too low relative to the screed surface, which can lead to water drainage problems.

[0003] To solve this problem, DE 20 2005 017 965 U1 proposes a drainage device comprising a laying box having a bowl-shaped lower part closed by a cover part whose side walls enclose the side walls of the lower part. The side walls of the lower part are provided with locking means that correspond to locking means arranged on the side walls of the cover part, via which the cover part can be adjusted relative to the lower part, so that the height of the laying box can be adjusted. The set height is fixed using screws arranged on the side. During installation, the laying box is positioned on the unfinished floor of the shower, after which its height is adjusted by adjusting the cover part relative to the lower part so that the surface of the cover part corresponds to the upper edge of the screed to be laid. The drain fitting located in the housing is then connected to an on-site drainage pipe.

[0004] The disadvantage of this proposed solution is that it requires a level subfloor, as the cover section is guided over the side walls of the base section and can therefore only be moved parallel to the base of the base section. Furthermore, the two-part installation box is relatively complex to manufacture.

[0005] A generic installation box is also described in EP 3 527 733 A1.

[0006] The invention aims to remedy this situation. The invention is based on the object of providing a laying box that is easy to manufacture and allows for variable positioning of the laying box, even on uneven subfloors. According to the invention, this object is achieved by a laying box having the features of the characterizing part of patent claim 1.

[0007] The invention provides a laying box that is easy to manufacture and that allows variable positioning of the laying box even on uneven subfloors. The fact that tabs with a lead-through projecting outwards to the sides of the base and each holding a support leg that is height-adjustably fastened to the respective tab enables precise positioning of the laying box in relation to the upper edge of the screed to be laid. The laterally projecting tabs enable the support legs, which are used to adjust the laying box, to be positioned to the side of the base of the laying box, which supports even flow of the screed into the gaps between the laying box and the subfloor.Preferably, the installation box has a connection for a waste water pipe running outside the box, via which a drain fitting to be inserted into the installation box can be connected to the waste water pipe.

[0008] In a further development of the invention, at least two connections for a wastewater line running outside the box are arranged, which are preferably angled to each other and sealed by a pierceable material layer. This allows for selective use of one of the existing connections after piercing the material layer, thus increasing flexibility.

[0009] In one embodiment of the invention, the respective material layer is provided with a predetermined breaking notch. This allows a defined opening of a desired connection.

[0010] A cage is arranged on the bracket, into which a threaded nut is inserted for rotational security. The base comprises a threaded rod that is screwed into the threaded nut. This creates an easily manufactured, height-adjustable base. Alternatively, instead of the threaded nut arranged in a cage, an internal thread for screwing in the threaded rod can be incorporated into the bracket.

[0011] In a further development of the invention, at least one of the tabs is pivotable. This allows the corresponding base to be optimally positioned depending on the installation situation of the installation box.

[0012] In one embodiment of the invention, at least one recess is provided in the installation box into which one of the pivoting tabs can be pivoted. This allows the corresponding base to be positioned even in the tightest installation situations.

[0013] In a further development of the invention, at least one of the tabs is clipped onto the installation box. This allows for easy installation of a tab, even for pivoting fastening. Alternatively, the at least one screw can also be screwed on.

[0014] In one embodiment of the invention, the installation box rests on at least one bearing rail, on which at least one of the outwardly projecting tabs accommodating a support foot is arranged. This allows the installation box to be subsequently equipped with height-adjustable supports. Preferably, the at least one bearing rail is detachably connected to the installation box. For variable adaptation to the installation box, the at least one bearing rail can also be designed to be adjustable in length.

[0015] In a further embodiment of the invention, the at least one support rail is straight and has a tab at each end for receiving a base. Preferably, at least two such support rails are arranged, on which the installation box rests. This ensures stable support of the installation box. Preferably, the at least two support rails are connected to one another via at least one rigid or length-adjustable web. This creates a connection between the arranged support rails, thereby increasing stability.

[0016] The at least one support rail can also be V-shaped, curved, oval, or circular and be provided with several tabs that accommodate a support foot. This allows for a support that is adapted to the contour of the installation box, which can have a rectangular, oval, or circular base, depending on the design of the shower.

[0017] In a further development of the invention, at least one of the arranged support rails has a supporting wall on one long side, preferably positioned orthogonally to the longitudinal side, which rests against the side wall of the installation box. This supports a stable, form-fitting support of the installation box.

[0018] In a refinement of the invention, at least one of the arranged support rails is angled at its ends, forming an L-shaped offset that encompasses the bracket and in which the support foot is located. This allows the installation box to rest flatly on a subfloor without the adjusting influence of the adjustable feet, thus enabling a minimal installation height.

[0019] In a further embodiment of the invention, the base comprises a threaded rod screwed into an internal thread arranged on the bracket. A bearing head is arranged on the threaded rod and is movably mounted in a bearing cup. The bearing base of the bearing cup has a spherical segment-shaped concavity in which the bearing head rests. The bearing cup is closed by a bearing cover with a passage. This allows the bearing cup to be adapted to a possible inclination of the ground. The bearing cover is advantageously connected to the bearing cup via a snap-in connection.

[0020] In a further development of the invention, the bearing head has a spherical segment-shaped curvature, which allows it to rest in the concavity of the bearing base. This creates a ball-and-socket-like bearing arrangement.

[0021] In one embodiment of the invention, the bearing cup or bearing cap is positively connected to the bearing head in such a way that the threaded rod can be rotated over the bearing cup. This simplifies manual rotation of the threaded rod and thus height adjustment of the base.

[0022] Further developments and refinements of the invention are specified in the remaining subclaims. An embodiment of the invention is illustrated in the drawings and described in detail below. They show: Figure 1: schematic representation of a laying box for accommodating a drain fitting; Figure 2: schematic representation of a bearing rail of the laying box from Figure 1; Figure 3 shows a detailed view of a support foot of the bearing rail from Figure 2, and Figure 4 shows a schematic view of a laying box for accommodating a drain fitting in a further embodiment. Figure 5 shows a detailed view of the fastening arm in a first fastening type. Figure 6 shows a detailed view of the fastening arm in a second fastening type.

[0023] The installation box 1 chosen as the exemplary embodiment is box-shaped and has a base 11 with a rectangular footprint, to which a surrounding side wall 12 adjoins. Two connections 13 for a wastewater line running outside the installation box are arranged opposite one another in the side wall 12, via which a drain fitting to be inserted into the installation box 1 can be connected to the wastewater line. The installation box 1 is provided with a lid 2 that closes it and is detachably connected to the installation box 1.

[0024] In the illustrated embodiment, the installation box 1 is provided with two bearing rails 3 on which it rests. The bearing rails can also be connected to the installation box 1 via snap-in or adhesive connections, or they can be integrally molded onto the installation box 1. (The term "molded" should not be interpreted here as meaning that the bearing rail is necessarily manufactured in a second process onto an already formed installation box. Rather, the installation box with the bearing rails can also be manufactured in a single process, for example, a plastic injection molding process.)

[0025] In the illustrated example, the bearing rail 3 is manufactured as a separate plastic injection-molded part. Alternatively, it could also be made of metal, for example, as a stamped and bent sheet metal part. Other materials, such as wood or hardboard, are also possible.

[0026] The bearing rail 3 has a substantially rectangular support bar 31, which at each end merges into an L-shaped offset 32, through which a tab 33 is formed, projecting outwards parallel to the plane of the support bar 31 and provided with a passage 34. A cage 35 is arranged on the two tabs 33 of the support bar 31, which cage is firmly connected to the tab 33 and into which a threaded nut 4 is inserted in a rotationally fixed manner. On one long side, the support bar 31 merges into a support wall 36 which is set at a right angle to it and extends outwards beyond the offset 32. The support wall 36 is interrupted in the middle by a trapezoidal recess 37. The installation box 1 is inserted with two opposite corners into the two corners formed by an offset 32 and the supporting wall 36 adjacent to it, wherein the supporting wall 36 lies against a side wall of the installation box 1.The two tabs 33 of each of the two bearing rails 3 are positioned so as to project outwards onto the installation box 1.

[0027] A height-adjustable base 5 is arranged on each of the tabs 33 of the two support rails. The base 5 comprises a threaded rod 51, on the end of which a bearing head 52 is arranged. In the exemplary embodiment, the bearing head 52 is designed in the manner of a circular disk-shaped screw head.

[0028] The bearing head 52 is movably inserted into a bearing cup 53, which has a spherically segment-shaped, curved bearing base 54 and which is provided with a locking groove 55 around its outside. The bearing cup 53 is closed by a bearing cover 56, which is provided in the center with a passage 57 that is conically angled towards the bearing base 54 and through which the threaded rod 51 is guided. The bearing cover 56 has a hollow cylindrical extension 58 that surrounds the bearing cup 53 and is provided with locking tabs 59 that engage in the locking groove 55 of the bearing cup 53. The bearing cover 56 is thus connected to the bearing cup 35 in a locking manner. The bearing head 52 is held pivotably on the curved bearing base 54 by the circumferential edge of the inwardly angled passage 57.In a further embodiment - not shown - the bearing head 52 is designed in the shape of a spherical segment and rests with its curved surface in the spherical segment-shaped curvature of the bearing base 54, wherein the bearing head 52 and the curvature of the bearing base 54 have substantially the same spherical radius.

[0029] The threaded rod 51 of each support foot 5 is guided through the passages 34 of the four brackets 33 of the two bearing rails 3 and screwed into the threaded nut 4, which is held in a rotationally fixed manner in the cage 35 of the respective bracket 33. A lock nut 6 is screwed onto the threaded rod 51 of each support foot 5 between the bracket 33 and the bearing cup 53. The lock nut 6 can be used to fix the threaded rod 51 to a desired length when screwed into the threaded nut 4.

[0030] The bearing cup 53 is dimensioned such that, when the threaded rod 51 is completely screwed into the threaded nut 5, it is completely received by the offset 32 of the support bar 31, so that it does not protrude beyond the bottom 11 of the installation box 1.

[0031] If an adjustment height exceeding the length of the threaded rod 51 is required, the bearing rail 3 can also be pivoted by 180° so that the L-shaped offset 32 is directed downward. The height of the offset 32 is thereby added to the maximum height adjustable by the threaded rod 51.

[0032] In the embodiment according to Figure 4A further embodiment of a laying box 7 is shown. The laying box 7, in turn, has a base 71, to which a circumferential side wall 72 is connected. In the side wall 72, on a narrow side of the laying box 7, three connections 73 are arranged at a distance from one another for the optional connection of a wastewater line running outside the laying box, via which a drain fitting to be inserted into the laying box 7 can be connected to the wastewater line. The connections 73 are each closed by a material layer provided with predetermined breaking notches (not shown), which can be pierced if necessary. Figure 4 For example, the middle connection 73 is shown connected to a drain pipe 9.

[0033] The corner sides of the installation box 7 are each formed by a surface 721 positioned at an angle of 45° to the side walls. The two outer connections 73 are each arranged in one of these surfaces 721, whereby they are positioned at an angle of 45° to the central connection 73.

[0034] In the area of the four arranged angled surfaces 721, a support piece 8 is attached to the base 71 in an outwardly projecting manner. The support piece 8 has a fastening arm 81, which at each of its ends merges into an L-shaped offset 82, by which a tab 83 is formed that projects outwardly parallel to the plane of the fastening arm 81.

[0035] In the exemplary embodiment, the tabs 83 of the support pieces 8 are each provided with a threaded bore 84 into which the threaded rod of a base 5 of the type described above is screwed. The tabs 83 can also be provided with a cage, as in the first exemplary embodiment, into which a threaded nut is inserted in a rotationally fixed manner. In the exemplary embodiment, the support pieces 8 are each pivotally connected to the base 71 via a clip connection 85. Alternatively, the support pieces 8 can also be connected to the installation box 7 via a rivet or screw connection, for example.

[0036] Adjacent to the support pieces 8, recesses 74 are arranged in the side walls 72, which extend into the base 71 and into which a support piece 8 can be pivoted with its tab 83. In the area of the base 71, the recesses each have a shoulder 741 for receiving the stand foot 5 arranged on the respective tab 83.

[0037] In Figure 5 A support piece 8 is shown pivotally attached to the base 71, the tab 83 of which accommodates a base 5. The support piece 8 is pivotally attached to the base 71 by its fastening arm 81 such that the L-shaped offset 82 extends upwards toward the installation box 7. The bearing cup 53 of the base 5 is in turn dimensioned such that it can be accommodated by the L-shaped offset 82.

[0038] In Figure 6 An alternative attachment of a support piece 8 to the base 71 of the installation box 7 is shown. The support piece 8 is pivoted by 180° so that the L-shaped offset 82 points downward. In this arrangement, the height of the offset 82 is added to the maximum achievable height with the threaded rod 51, thereby increasing the maximum adjustable height.
