Description

[0001] The invention relates to a pack for products of the cigarette industry, with an outer pack which has a box part and a lid which is pivotably arranged on the box part, and wherein an inner pack which is preferably designed as a sealing block and contains products of the cigarette industry as pack contents is arranged in the outer pack, and wherein the inner pack has a removal opening which can be opened or closed by means of a multi-actuable opening tab of the inner pack.to be closed, and wherein the opening tab is fastened in a connecting region to the lid of the outer packaging in such a way that the removal opening is automatically released when the lid is opened and automatically closed when the lid is closed, and wherein a collar is arranged in the box part, which collar, with the collar front wall and collar side walls, rests on the inside against corresponding walls of the box part and protrudes from the box part which is open at the top, and wherein the collar front wall has a recess for forming a collar window, and wherein a lower edge of the connecting region is arranged at the level of a lower edge of the collar window or above the latter, and wherein a width of the opening tab is less than the width of the collar window, according to the preamble of claim 1.

[0002] For the purposes of the application, products of the cigarette industry are understood to include tobacco products such as cigarettes, cigarillos and the like, but also novel tobacco products such as heat-not-burn products or liquid carriers for e-cigarettes.

[0003] A package of the type mentioned at the beginning is known, for example, from EP 2 155 568 B1, US 2020 / 180853 A1, WO 2021 / 044359 A1, US 2018 / 346235 A1 and EP 3 526 139 B1.

[0004] Based on this, the invention is based on the object of further developing packages of the type mentioned, in particular with regard to an improved closing behavior of the package.

[0005] A package according to the invention has the features of claim 1. It is accordingly provided that a lower edge of the opening tab ends at a small distance of, in particular, 2 to 3 mm below the lower edge of the collar window.

[0006] The use of a collar in such a package has the particular advantage that it can prevent the lid from catching on the side seams of the inner package when the lid is closed.

[0007] Furthermore, it can be provided that the lower edge of the connecting area is arranged at a small distance (X) of in particular 1 to 5 mm from the lower edge of the collar window.

[0008] The small distance can have the advantage that the removal opening can be of sufficient size and not too small in height to still be able to remove the contents of the package comfortably.

[0009] Another special feature is that the lower edge of the collar window is positioned at a distance above a closing edge of the box part.

[0010] Until now, it was assumed that the front collar wall posed an obstacle to reliably bonding the inner pack's opening flap to the lid. However, it has surprisingly been shown that this solution works, despite concerns from experts.

[0011] Preferably, it can be provided that the collar window extends from an upper edge of the collar front wall in the direction of a closing edge of the box part and has a lower edge running parallel to the upper edge of the collar front wall or parallel to a closing edge of the box part, as well as upright side edges which connect the lower edge to the upper edge of the collar front wall.

[0012] Furthermore, it can be provided that the collar front wall is glued to a front wall of the box part, in particular by means of glue dots.

[0013] In a preferred embodiment, it can be provided that a tray made of rigid packaging material, in particular cardboard, is arranged in the inner package and at least partially surrounds the products, wherein the tray has a recess corresponding to the collar window.

[0014] Preferably, it can be provided that the connecting region is arranged below a lower edge of the recess of the tray.

[0015] In a preferred embodiment, it can be provided that the opening tab is fastened to an inner flap of the lid, which is arranged on the inside of the front wall of the lid, and it is provided that a width of the inner flap of the lid is less than or equal to the width of the lower edge of the collar window.

[0016] Preferably, it can be provided that seams of the inner package in the region of narrow sides adjacent to corresponding narrow sides of the package are designed as fin seams and / or as envelope folds.

[0017] In a preferred embodiment, the opening tab can be part of a closure label attached to the inner package or part of the inner package blank. Preferred embodiments of the invention are described below with reference to the drawing. In this drawing: Fig. 1 a package for products of the cigarette industry in a schematic, spatial representation with closed lid, Fig. 2 the package according to Fig. 1 with the lid open, Fig. 3 an inner pack of the pack according to Fig. 1 and 2 in corresponding representation, Fig. 4 a vertical section through the package along section line IV - IV in Fig. 1 , Fig. 5a front view of the package according to arrow V in Fig. 4 , and Fig. 6 a second embodiment of a package in a representation according to Fig. 4 .

[0018] The invention is described below using the variant according to Fig. 6 a package 10 for products 11 of the cigarette industry, which in this case are cigarettes. The variant according to Fig. 1 to 5 is not part of the invention.

[0019] The pack 10 has an outer pack 12 made of rigid packaging material, such as cardboard, with a box part 13 and a lid 14 that is pivotally mounted on the box part 13. In the present embodiment, the pack 10 is therefore a hinge-lid type pack 10.

[0020] Arranged within the outer package 12 is an inner package 15 containing the package contents, namely a cuboid-shaped group of products 11 in a regular formation. The packaging material for the inner package 15 preferably forms a so-called sealing block, i.e., a package that is essentially moisture- and aroma-tight. For this purpose, the packaging material for the inner package 15, or a corresponding blank, encloses the group of products 11. Seams of the inner package are tightly sealed by appropriate sealing of the blank. To remove products 11 from the inner package 15, the latter has a removal opening 16 that can be closed by an opening tab 17. The opening tab 17 can be formed by a closure label 25, as in the present case, or by the blank for the inner package 15 itself. In the latter case, a part of the blank for the inner pack 15 is cut out in a manner known per se to open the pack 10, for example along perforation lines.

[0021] The opening flap 17 is permanently connected, preferably by adhesive, to an inner side of a front wall 30 of the lid 14 in a connecting region 18. The connecting region 18 extends along the outer side or upper side of the opening flap 17 and can, for example, be formed by a series of glue or adhesive dots 31. Other application patterns for the glue or adhesive are also conceivable. In the present embodiment, the connecting region extends near the lower edge of the opening flap 17.

[0022] On the other side of the opening tab 17, no glue or adhesive is provided on the inside or underside of the opening tab 17 in the connecting area 18, so that this area of the opening tab 17 is not glued to the inner package 15. In this way, the opening tab 17 can be easily peeled off the inner package 15 when the lid 14 is opened.

[0023] As usual, the closure label 25 shown is permanently bonded to the inner package 15 in the area of the rear side of the inner package. A multi-action adhesive is located on the underside of the closure label 25 around the dispensing opening 16, allowing the closure label 25 to be sealed multiple times. This adhesive-free zone adjoins the edge of the closure label 25.

[0024] Due to the described connection of the opening tab 17 with the inside of the lid front wall 30 or an inner lid tab 32 arranged there, the removal opening 16 is automatically opened when the lid 14 is opened, namely by lifting the opening tab 17. Accordingly, when the lid 14 is closed, the removal opening 16 is automatically closed by the opening tab 17.

[0025] Furthermore, the pack 10 has a collar 19, which is arranged in the usual position in the box part 13. Accordingly, a front wall 20 of the collar 19 extends along a front wall 26 of the box part 13, and two side walls 21 of the collar 19 extend along narrow side walls 27 of the box part 13. The side walls 21 of the collar 19 can be used to conceal seams of the inner pack 15 in the region of the narrow sides.

[0026] As is also usual, the collar 19 has two lid brakes 28, which are formed by punching in the material of the collar 19 and are arranged in the region of the transition from the front wall 20 to the side walls 21, i.e. in the region of the upright edges of the collar 19 in the region of the package edges.

[0027] The collar 19 or its front wall 20 further has a recess 22 that serves as a collar window. The recess 22 extends from the upper edge 23 of the collar 19 toward a lower edge of the collar 19. A lower edge 24 of the recess 22 or the collar window extends at a distance (X) from a closing edge 29 of the box part 13.

[0028] Fig. 3 shows a view of the inner package 15 with the closure label 25 and the adhesive dots 31. An edge of the dispensing opening 16 is indicated by dashed lines. Fig. 3The formation of seams 33, 34 of the inner pack 15. A seam 33 runs across the back of the inner pack 15. Additional seams 34 are formed in the area of the narrow sides of the inner pack 15. All seams 33, 34 are formed as fin seams. However, a formation using sealed envelope folds is also conceivable. A combination of the two variants within the same inner pack 15 is also conceivable.

[0029] A further component of the package 10 can be a tray 35 made of rigid packaging material, for example, cardboard. The tray 35 is arranged together with the group of products 11 in the inner package 15, with the tray 35 at least partially enclosing the products. In the present case, the tray 35 has at least a front wall 36 and a rear wall 37, as well as preferably narrow side walls connecting the front wall 36 and rear wall 37. Furthermore, the tray 35 can have a bottom wall.

[0030] The tray 35 also has a recess 38 in the area of the front wall 36. The arrangement and dimensioning correspond to the recess 22 in the collar 19. The recess 38 extends from an upper edge of the tray 35 to a lower edge 39.

[0031] Furthermore, in all embodiments it is provided that the collar front wall 20 is connected to the front wall 26 of the box part 13 via adhesive points 40.

[0032] Fig. 4 shows a vertical section through a first embodiment of the package 10. A special feature is that a lower edge 41 of the opening tab 17 ends above the lower edge 24 of the recess 22. The corresponding distance Y can be approximately 2 to 3 mm. Alternatively, the second embodiment according to Fig. 6that the lower edge 41 of the opening tab 17 can also end below the lower edge 24 of the recess 22. Here, too, the distance Y can be approximately 2 to 3 mm.

[0033] A further special feature concerns the distance X between the lower edge of the connecting region 18 and the lower edge 24 of the recess 22. The distance X can be zero or alternatively can be in a range of 1 to 5 mm.

[0034] Another special feature arises with regard to the distance between the lower edge 24 of the recess 22 and the closing edge 29 of the box part. It has been shown that the braking effect of the lid brakes 28 and the stiffness of the collar 19 is greater the greater this distance.

[0035] The lower edge 24 of the recess 22 should be above the closing edge 29.

[0036] Furthermore, the connecting area 18 should be located below the lower edge 39 of the recess 38 of the tray 35.

[0037] In particular, it is intended that the width of the lid inner tab 32 should be less than or equal to the width of the lower edge of the recess 22 or the collar window. The width of the opening tab 17 should be less than the width of the collar window (see Fig. 5 ).

[0038] In the exemplary embodiments shown, the lower edge 24 of the recess 22 runs straight and parallel to the likewise straight closing edge 29. It is understood, however, that other contours can be used here, for example obliquely running contours, single or multiple angled contours or even curved contours.

[0039] Regarding the designation of the side surfaces of the pack 10 or its components, the following applies: A large front surface is opposite a corresponding rear surface, and both are connected by narrow sides. On the top side, there is a front side, and opposite the front side, there is a bottom side. This results in the designation of the corresponding walls of the pack 10, the outer pack 12, the inner pack 15, the tray 35, etc. List of reference symbols: 10 pack 36 Front wall (tray) 11 product 37 Back panel (tray) 12 Outer packaging 38 recess (tray) 13 Box part 39 lower edge (recess 38) 14 Lid 40 Adhesive point 15 inner packaging 41 bottom edge (opening flap) 16 Removal opening 17 Opening tab 18 Connection area 19 collar 20 front wall (collar) 21 Side wall (collar) 22 Recess (collar) 23 upper edge (collar) 24 lower edge (recess 22) 25 closure label 26 Front wall (box part) 27 Narrow side wall (box part) 28 Lid brake (collar) 29 Closing edge (box part) 30 Front wall (lid) 31 Adhesive point 32 Lid inner flap 33 seam 34 seam 35 Tray
