Description
[0001] The invention relates to a motor vehicle lighting system for emitting position-limited ground projections for a motor vehicle with a stepwise height-adjustable chassis, wherein at least two predefined chassis height levels are provided, namely a zero level and at least one higher operating level, wherein the motor vehicle lighting system comprises the following: at least two projection devices, a control unit connected to each projection device for individually controlling each projection device, wherein each projection device is designed for installation in or on a motor vehicle, in particular in or on a door sill of the motor vehicle, wherein each projection device is further designed toin a state mounted on the motor vehicle and activated, to emit precisely one ground projection from an immediate vicinity of the motor vehicle onto a laterally surrounding ground up to a maximum flat critical angle, wherein all projection devices are fastened to a common carrier and arranged within a common plane and each have an optical axis, wherein the optical axes of the projection devices are oriented parallel to one another, wherein each projection device is a microlens projection module, wherein each microlens projection module comprises a light source, an entrance optics having a total number of micro-entrance optics arranged in an array, wherein the entrance optics are configured to receive light emitted by the light source, and an exit optics having a total number of micro-exit optics arranged in an array, wherein each micro-entrance optic is assigned exactly one micro-exit optic, wherein the micro-entrance optics are designed and / or the micro-entrance optics and the micro-exit optics are arranged relative to one another in such a way that substantially all of the light exiting from a micro-entrance optic enters only the associated micro-exit optic, and wherein the light pre-shaped by the micro-entrance optics can be projected by the micro-exit optics into an area adjacent to the motor vehicle as said ground projection in the mounted state of the motor vehicle lighting system, wherein at least one aperture device is arranged between the micro-entrance optic and the micro-exit optic, wherein the radiation angle of each projection device in the mounted state is limited to a horizontal plane, specifically such that the radiation is inclined downwards with respect to the horizontal plane.
[0002] Systems for emitting floor projections are known from the prior art. The use of micro-projection lens modules is also known, for example from WO 2015 / 058227 A1 or WO 2019110374 A1, which each show the structure of micro-projection lens modules that is also fundamentally suitable for use in the present invention. However, somewhat different from these modules, which, for example, generate a low-beam distribution in which the aperture edge is very strongly illuminated and the micro-entrance optics are therefore focused on it, the present invention makes it possible not to focus on the edges of the aperture, but rather to achieve uniform illumination of the opening, ideally achieving uniform illumination. This can therefore be a so-called Köhler illumination, where, as mentioned, the focal point of the micro-entrance optics is not necessarily located on the aperture plane, but is offset from it (when viewed forward or backward in the light emission direction) in order to achieve homogeneous illumination across the entire area of the aperture. Document WO 2015 / 032795 A2 shows a system for emitting shaped light onto a surface. Document EP 1916154 A1 shows a method for displaying information. Document EP 1203695 A2 relates to a method and a device for adjusting the headlight range.
[0003] A problem with state-of-the-art ground projection modules is that, when used in conjunction with vehicles having a height-adjustable chassis, distortions of the emitted ground projection may occur depending on the chassis height adjustment.
[0004] An object of the invention is therefore to remedy this disadvantage of the prior art. This object is achieved with a motor vehicle lighting system of the type mentioned above, in which, according to the invention, the control unit has a communication interface for receiving and evaluating a chassis signal, wherein the chassis signal contains information on the actual state of the chassis height level, wherein for each chassis height level, the operation of at least one projection device optimized for this purpose is provided, wherein for each projection device optimized for a chassis height level, a range limit of the ground projection results due to the height present in the respective chassis height level and the flat limit angle assigned to the respective projection device, wherein the optimization of the projection devices is implemented in such a way thatthat the projection devices optimized for the respective landing gear height levels have different flat limit angles, such that the flat limit angles of the projection devices, starting from the projection device optimized for the zero level, increase with increasing height of the landing gear height levels assigned to the projection devices in accordance with the height difference to the zero level, so that for each landing gear height level, at least one projection device is provided whose range limit during operation of the landing gear height level for which the respective projection device is optimized corresponds to the range limit of the projection device for the zero level.
[0005] In particular, it can be provided that the control of the projection devices by the control unit is designed in such a way that the operation of those projection devices is deactivated which are optimized for a lower landing gear height level than the existing landing gear height level determined on the basis of the landing gear signal.
[0006] The invention makes it possible to ensure that the range limit is not exceeded despite an increase in the relative height of the projection devices. The optical axis of a projection device is the axis along which the radiation is emitted from the entrance optics to the exit optics. The radiation itself is then clipped by the apertures, thereby affecting its spatial orientation.
[0007] Furthermore, it can be provided that the control of the projection devices by the control unit is configured such that those projection devices optimized for operation at a higher landing gear height than the detected current landing gear height can still be activated. This allows for superimposing the ground projections without exceeding the range limit.
[0008] In particular, it can be provided that the control of the projection devices by the control unit is designed in such a way that an animation can be projected by a temporal sequence of the activation of projection devices, wherein the temporal sequence of the activation also includes those projection devices which are optimized for operation with a higher landing gear height level than the determined existing landing gear height level.
[0009] Furthermore, it can be provided that the control unit controls the projection devices in such a way that the operation of all projection devices that are not optimized for the determined current chassis height level is deactivated. The technical solution is characterized by particularly high robustness. In particular, it can be provided that the projection devices optimized for different chassis height levels differ in their intended spatial positioning on the motor vehicle, specifically in such a way that with optimization for decreasing chassis height levels, the height of the mounting position of the respective projection device increases. In particular, it can be provided that the lowest projection device has the steepest angle α max, so that as the height level increases, the projection device is switched off from above, thus always guaranteeing a maximum steep projection angle with which distortions can be minimized.
[0010] According to the invention, it is provided that the entrance optics and the exit optics of all projection devices are designed in the same way, whereby the projection devices optimized for the respective chassis height levels differ from one another in the design of the aperture devices.
[0011] Furthermore, the invention provides that the projection devices, which are optimized for different landing gear height levels, differ from one another in the design of their apertures, specifically such that the size of the respective aperture decreases with optimization for increasing landing gear height levels. The aperture is preferably reduced in size so that the maximum illumination area is not exceeded. A smaller size means that the area of the aperture is smaller.
[0012] Furthermore, it can be provided that the control unit is configured to regulate the intensity of the radiation of at least those light sources which are assigned to the projection devices, with the exception of the projection device of the zero stage.
[0013] In particular, it can be provided that as the aperture size decreases, the rated power of the light sources of the corresponding projection devices increases, so that the light intensity of the light distributions emitted by different projection devices is consistent. This means that the lower light transmission caused by the smaller aperture can be compensated for, so that with different optimized projection devices at the respective chassis height level, a uniformly bright light impression is created on the projection surface.
[0014] Furthermore, it may be provided that three or more chassis height levels are provided.
[0015] In particular, the difference between the height of the zero step and the height of the highest landing gear height step can be between 1 cm and 20 cm, and the landing gear height steps can preferably be evenly spaced from each other. For example, the range can be 13 cm and extend over three steps, with a travel of 55 mm downwards and 75 mm upwards being possible starting from a middle step.
[0016] Furthermore, it can be provided that the range limit of the ground projection in the mounted state of the motor vehicle lighting system is between 0.5 m and 3 m, in particular between 1 m and 2 m, wherein the range limit is measured along a flat floor at a normal distance to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle, starting from a normal projection of the sill of the motor vehicle to the end of the ground projection.
[0017] In particular, it can be provided that the projection devices are arranged in a matrix-like manner on the common carrier and that an opaque insulation is arranged between adjacent projection devices.
[0018] Furthermore, it can be provided that a motor vehicle comprising at least two motor vehicle lighting systems according to one of the preceding claims, wherein the motor vehicle has a left and a right vehicle side, and each vehicle side has at least one door with a threshold assigned to the door, wherein the projection devices are arranged in each of the thresholds.
[0019] The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to an exemplary and non-limiting embodiment, which is illustrated in the figures. [0023] The control unit 5 has a communication interface 5a for receiving and evaluating a landing gear signal S, wherein the landing gear signal S contains information on the actual state of the landing gear height level S0, S1. [0024] The optimization of the projection devices 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d is implemented in such a way that the projection devices 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d optimized for the respective landing gear height levels S0, S1 have different flat limit angles α maxa , α maxc, in such a way that the flat limit angles α maxa , α maxc of the projection devices 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d, starting from that projection device 4a which is optimized for the zero level S0, increase with increasing height of the landing gear height levels S0, S1 assigned to the projection devices 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d in accordance with the height difference Δh (see Fig. 6b ) to the zero level S0, so that for each landing gear height level S0, S1 at least one projection device 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d is provided, the range limit D0, D1 of which during operation of the landing gear height level S0, S1, for which the respective projection device 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d is optimized, corresponds to the range limit D max of the projection device 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d for the zero level S0. In the exemplary embodiment shown here, only two height levels S0 and S1 and only two radiation angles of the projection devices are shown. Of course, multiple height levels and radiation angles or projection devices can also be provided, wherein each projection device is optimized for one height level and each height level is assigned at least one projection device optimized for this purpose.
[0025] It can be provided that the control of the projection devices 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d by the control unit 5 is designed such that the operation of those projection devices 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d that are optimized for a lower landing gear height level S0, S1 than the existing landing gear height level S0, S1 determined on the basis of the landing gear signal S is deactivated. The control of the projection devices 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d by the control unit 5 can be designed such that those projection devices 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d that are optimized for operation with a higher landing gear height level S1 than the determined existing landing gear height level S0 can still be activated.
[0026] In particular, it can be provided that the control of the projection devices 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d by the control unit 5 is designed in such a way that an animation can be projected by a temporal sequence of the activation of projection devices 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d, wherein the temporal sequence of the activation also includes those projection devices 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d which are optimized for operation with a higher landing gear height level S1 than the determined existing landing gear height level S0.
[0027] Alternatively, it can be provided that the control of the projection devices 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d by the control unit 5 is carried out in such a way that the operation of all projection devices 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d that are not optimized for the determined existing landing gear height level S0, S1 is deactivated.
[0028] Furthermore, it can be provided that the projection devices 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d, which are optimized for different chassis height levels S0, S1, differ in the intended spatial positioning on the motor vehicle 1, in such a way that with optimization for decreasing height of the chassis height levels S0, S1, the height of the mounting position of the respective projection device 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d increases.
[0029] In Fig. 4 It is schematically evident that the entrance optics 42 and the exit optics 43 of all projection devices 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d are of the same design, whereby the projection devices 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d optimized for the respective landing gear height levels S0, S1 can differ from one another in the design of the aperture devices 8a', 8a", 8a'" in order to realize the different critical angles. It is intended that the projection devices 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d, which are optimized for different landing gear height levels S0, S1, can differ from one another by the design of aperture openings 441' (see Fig. 4 ) of the micro apertures 441 differ from each other, in such a way that with optimization for increasing height of the landing gear height levels S0, S1 the size of the respective aperture 441' decreases.
[0030] It can be provided that the control unit 5 is configured to regulate the intensity of the radiation of at least those light sources 41 assigned to the projection devices 4c, 4d, with the exception of the projection device 4a, 4b of the zero stage S0. Advantageously, it can be provided that as the size of the aperture 441' decreases, the nominal power of the light sources 41 of the corresponding projection devices 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d increases, so that the light intensity of the light distributions emitted by different projection devices 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d is the same. This means that the lower light transmittance caused by the smaller aperture is compensated, so that with different optimized projection devices at the respective chassis height level, a uniformly bright light impression is created on the projection surface.
[0031] Furthermore, it can be provided that the difference between the height of the zero step S0 and the height of the highest chassis height step S1 is between 1 cm and 20 cm and the chassis height steps S0, S1 are preferably evenly spaced from each other.
[0032] In particular, it can be provided that the range limit D max of the ground projection in the mounted state of the motor vehicle lighting system 2 is between 0.5 m and 3 m, in particular between 1 m and 2 m, wherein the range limit D max is measured along a flat floor B at a normal distance to the longitudinal axis x of the vehicle 1, starting from a normal projection of the sill 6 of the motor vehicle to the end of the ground projection B4a, B4c.
[0033] In addition, it can be provided that the projection devices 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d are arranged in a matrix-like manner on the common carrier 4' (see Fig. 2 ) are arranged and an opaque insulation 4" is arranged between adjacent projection devices 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d.
[0034] With a view to Fig. 6a und Fig. 6b It should be mentioned that the ranges of the devices 4a and 4c are shown as examples, which are determined depending on the chassis height level. Fig. 6a shows the ranges in altitude level S0, Fig. 6bthose in altitude level S1, which is higher than in altitude level S0. The ranges D0 and D1 are lower in the zero level S0 than in the altitude level S1, specifically by the difference ΔD. In order not to exceed a maximum range limit D max, the upper projection device 4a can therefore be switched off at altitude S1. The range D1 or the corresponding radiation angle α maxc of the projection device 4c below it is selected such that the range D1 at altitude S1 exactly matches the range D max. By specifically switching individual projection devices on and off depending on the landing gear altitude level, the ground projection can be kept largely constant and it can be ensured that the limits, in particular the maximum range of the ground projection D max, are not exceeded.
[0035] The invention is not limited to the embodiments shown, but is defined by the entire scope of the claims. Individual aspects of the invention or the embodiments may also be taken up and combined with one another. Any reference symbols in the claims are exemplary and serve only to facilitate the readability of the claims, without limiting them.
