Description
[0001] The invention relates to a laying box for insertion into a floor structure and for receiving a drain fitting for the production of a water drain embedded in a screed, according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
[0002] Showers are often designed to be flush with the floor or almost flush with the floor, although they have little or no elevation above floor level, which is why the shower drain fitting must be placed near the floor structure, usually in the screed. For this purpose, a box, also known as an assembly or installation box, is often used. This box has a connection for a drain fitting that can be placed inside the box and connected to a wastewater pipe located outside the box. During installation, the box is aligned in a recess in the floor, and then a screed is poured that is flush with the top edge of the box. Such a box is disclosed, for example, in DE 20 2015 006 212 U1, DE 10 2018 103 459 A1 and KR 200 200 796 Y1.
[0003] Waterproofing plays a key role in shower installation. To achieve this, the shower tray is sealed to the subfloor at the edges with sealing tape or sealing mats, which are then extended to the installation box. However, small amounts of water may creep between the shower tray and the sealing mat into the installation box. This can lead to unwanted odors and the growth of germs due to standing water.
[0004] The invention aims to remedy this situation. The invention is based on the object of providing a wiring box that prevents unwanted odors and germ formation caused by stagnant water due to water seepage. According to the invention, this object is achieved by a wiring box having the features of the characterizing part of patent claim 1.
[0005] The invention provides a wiring box that prevents unwanted odors and germ formation caused by standing water due to creeping water. By connecting a circumferential channel to the circumferential side wall at a distance from the latter, extending toward the floor and provided with at least one outlet that merges into a connection piece for a drain hose, any creeping water reaching the wiring box can be drained directly via the channel through the connection piece via a drain hose that can be connected to the connection piece. This effectively prevents the accumulation of water in the wiring box that could cause odors and germ formation.
[0006] The channel preferably has an arcuate, particularly circular, cross-section. This improves drainage performance and counteracts dirt deposits.
[0007] A frame part with an opening and a surrounding channel is attached to the surrounding side wall. This creates a modular structure.
[0008] In one embodiment of the invention, the frame part has a web extending at least partially around the perimeter and toward the floor, spaced from the channel, whose outer dimensions essentially correspond to the inner dimensions of the side wall of the base box. This allows the frame part to be inserted into the installation box. In an alternative, albeit inferior, embodiment, the web could also be designed to fit the frame part onto the side wall in such a way that its inner dimensions essentially correspond to the outer dimensions of the side wall.
[0009] In a further embodiment of the invention, a preferably circumferential seal is arranged between the web of the frame part and the side wall. This not only seals the frame part against the side wall, but also creates a force-fit connection between the side wall and the circumferential web of the collar part, which allows the frame part to be fixed at different heights and thus - to a limited extent - allows the height of the installation box to be adjusted.
[0010] In a further development of the invention, the seal has an elliptical or rectangular cross-section, preferably a circular cross-section, and is inserted into a sealing groove arranged for this purpose in the side wall. This fixes the seal in the side wall—particularly when the collar part is adjusted. Alternatively, the seal can also be molded or glued directly onto the side wall or onto the web of the frame part.
[0011] In one embodiment of the invention, the frame part covers the side wall all the way around, preferably extending beyond the side wall at least in some areas. This completely covers the base box towards the side wall by the collar part, allowing incoming creeping water to completely enter the gutter.
[0012] In a further embodiment of the invention, the frame part has a support surface for a surface seal between its outer edge and the surrounding channel. This enables reliable sealing of the frame part to the floor screed.
[0013] In a further development of the invention, a cover is detachably placed on the frame part. The cover has a collar that extends at least partially around the frame part, the outer contour of which essentially corresponds to the inner contour of the opening in the frame part into which it engages. This ensures a positive fastening of the cover to the frame part.
[0014] In one embodiment of the invention, a circumferential base is arranged at a distance from the circumferential collar, preferably parallel to it. This base rests on the frame part and preferably defines a circumferential groove with it. This ensures that the cover rests evenly on the collar part. The circumferential groove enables clean integration of the installation box into the screed.
[0015] In a further embodiment of the invention, a drain fitting is provided, which has a connecting pipe section for connection to a sewer line, which has a radially arranged connecting piece connected to the connecting piece of the gutter via a hose or pipe section. This ensures that any water collected in the gutter is drained into the sewer line.
[0016] In a further development of the invention, several arms are pivotably mounted on the base, projecting outward, each of which accommodates a height-adjustable base. This allows for flexible height adjustment of the installation box for a wide variety of installation situations. The arms are preferably formed by offset connecting brackets.
[0017] In one embodiment of the invention, the feet have a threaded rod that engages with an internal thread located on each arm. This allows for continuous height adjustment.
[0018] In a further development of the invention, at least two connections for a wastewater line running outside the box are arranged, which are preferably angled to each other and sealed by a pierceable material layer. This allows for selective use of one of the existing connections after piercing the material layer, thus increasing flexibility.
[0019] In one embodiment of the invention, the respective material layer is provided with a predetermined breaking notch. This allows a defined opening of a desired connection.
[0020] Further developments and refinements of the invention are specified in the remaining subclaims. An embodiment of the invention is illustrated in the drawings and described in detail below. They show: Figure 1: the schematic spatial representation of a laying box with installed drain fitting; Figure 2: the representation of the arrangement of Figure 1 in cross-section; Figure 3 the spatial representation of the installation box from Figure 1 from below; Figure 4 the representation of the installation box from Figure 1 with applied sealing; Figure 5 the representation of the installation box from Figure 1 with the lid applied; Figure 6 shows the arrangement of Figure 5 in cross section and Figure 7 the arrangement of Figure 1 with seal and lid in exploded view.
[0021] The installation box chosen as an embodiment essentially comprises a base box 1, a frame part 2, a seal 3 and a cover 4.
[0022] The base box 1 is box-shaped and has a base 11 with a largely rectangular footprint, to which a surrounding side wall 12 is connected. In the side wall 12, three connections 13 are arranged at a distance from one another on a narrow side of the base box 1. These connections can be used to connect a drain line running outside the installation box to a drain line via which a drain fitting 5 installed in the base box 1 can be connected. The corner sides of the base box 1 are each formed by a surface 121 set at an angle of 45° to the side walls. (Alternatively, the surface can also be set at a different angle, in particular at an angle of 30°.) The two outer connections 13 are each arranged in one of these surfaces 121, whereby they are set at an angle of 45° to the central connection 13.The connections 13 are each sealed by a material layer provided with predetermined breaking notches (not shown), which can be pierced if necessary. Figure 1 As an example, the middle connection 13 is shown connected to a drain pipe 6.
[0023] In the area of the four arranged angled surfaces 121, a connecting bracket 8 is attached to the base 11 in an outwardly projecting manner. The connecting bracket 8 has a fastening section 81 that transitions into an L-shaped offset 82, through which a tab 83 is formed that projects outwardly parallel to the plane of the fastening section 81.
[0024] In the exemplary embodiment, the tabs 83 of the connecting brackets 8 are each provided with a threaded hole into which the threaded rod 91 of a base 9 is screwed. The tabs 83 can also be provided with a cage into which a threaded nut is inserted in a rotationally fixed manner. In the exemplary embodiment, the connecting brackets 8 are each pivotally connected to the base 11 via a clip connection 84. Alternatively, the connecting brackets 8 can also be connected to the base 11 via a rivet or screw connection, for example.
[0025] The connection angles 8 can - contrary to the illustration in Figure 3 - can also be mounted on the base 11 pivoted by 180°, so that the L-shaped offset 82 is directed downwards. In this arrangement, the height of the offset 82 is added to the maximum achievable height with the threaded rod 91, thereby increasing the maximum adjustable height.
[0026] Adjacent to the connecting brackets 8, recesses 15 are arranged in the side walls 12, which extend into the base 11 and into which a connecting bracket 8 can be pivoted with its tab 83. In the area of the base 11, the recesses 15 each have a shoulder 151 for receiving the base 5 arranged on the respective tab 83.
[0027] A frame part 2 is placed on the side wall 12 of the base box 1 and is sealed to the side wall 12 by a seal 3. A cover 4 is placed on the frame part, closing the base box 1.
[0028] The frame part 2 is essentially rectangular with rounded corners, with an outer, plate-shaped section 21, to which a circumferential groove 22 is connected, which defines an opening 23, the shape of which essentially corresponds to the - smaller dimensioned - inner contour of the side wall 12. An outlet 221 is introduced into the groove 22, which merges into a connecting piece 222 for connecting a drain hose 52, which in the exemplary embodiment is connected to a connecting piece 51 of the drain fitting 5. The groove 22 has an essentially circular cross-section in the exemplary embodiment. The plate-shaped section 21 forms a bearing surface for a surface seal 7 for sealing the base box 1 against the screed of a floor. Figure 7 arranged surface seal 7 is designed in the manner of a passepartout, the cutout of which is dimensioned such that it frames the groove 22 of the frame part 2.
[0029] On the underside of the frame part 2 facing the floor 11, a circumferential web 24 is arranged on the plate-shaped section 21 at a distance from the groove 22, the outer side of which facing the side wall 12 essentially corresponds to the contour of the inner side of the side wall 12. A circumferential seal 3 is arranged between the web 24 of the frame part 2 and the side wall 12 and is inserted into a sealing groove 14 provided for this purpose in the side wall 12. The seal 3 holds the frame part 2 in the base box 1 via the web 24 in a force-fitting manner. The height of the frame part 2 can be varied, limited by the height of the web 24, whereby the height of the installation box can be adjusted (cf. Figure 2 ).
[0030] The lid 4 is essentially plate-shaped and has an outer contour that corresponds to the outer contour of the side wall 12 of the base box 1. On its underside facing the frame part 2, a circumferential collar 41 is arranged, which, when placed on the frame part 2, rests against the groove 22 delimiting the opening 23. On the outside, on the underside of the lid 4, at a small distance of only a few millimeters from the outer edge, a circumferential base 42 is arranged, which rests on the plate-shaped section 21 of the frame part 2 and, with it, delimits a circumferential groove 43. On the top side of the lid 4, a recessed grip 44 is incorporated in the lid.
