[0001] The invention relates to a box for receiving bottles comprising a first type of quill and a second type of quill, wherein each quill has at least one web with an end surface directed outwards from the center of the quill for stabilizing a bottle placed in a bottle holder, wherein no plane extending from the end surface of a web to the center of the quill is parallel to a side wall of the box, and the first type of quill is configured such that the end section of each quill of the first type, which is furthest from the bottom of the box, has a central notch for receiving a part of the container support, and each quill of the first type has a maximum height from the bottom of the box to the outer end of the end section that corresponds approximately to the shoulder height of the bottle to be received, wherein the maximum height is preferably between 100 mm and 130 mm, more preferably between 110 mm and 120 mm, and even more preferably 116 mm.The invention relates to a combination of the box with a container carrier, in particular for bottles, made of a foldable flat material. [0002] In the beverage trade, it is common practice to stock and sell bottled beverages in defined container sizes. These characteristic container sizes are multipacks made of a foldable flat material, especially cardboard, containing four, six, or eight bottles, or bottle crates, usually made of plastic, containing a larger number of bottles (for example, 20 or 24). The plastic crates are dimensioned according to a standardized grid, allowing them to be easily stacked for logistical purposes and processed using a uniform deposit return system.

[0008] A box for holding bottles is proposed. The box comprises a frame, a first type of pin, a second type of pin, and a base, with the frame forming the box's side walls. The interior of the box, formed by the frame, the first type of pin, and the second type of pin, contains a grid of bottle holders, each holder designed to accommodate a single bottle, and combinations of multiple bottle holders designed to accommodate a multipack.
[0009] The housing of the present invention is characterized in that each quill has at least one web with an end surface extending outwards from the center of the quill for stabilizing a bottle inserted into a bottle holder. No plane extending from the end surface of a web to the center of the quill runs parallel to a side wall of the housing. The first type of quill is designed such that the end section of each quill of the first type, which is furthest from the bottom of the housing, has a central indentation for receiving a portion of the container support. 1. Crate (10) for accommodating bottles (40), the crate comprising a crate frame (12), a first type of pinnacles (20), a second type of pinnacles (22), and a crate base (16), wherein the crate frame forms side walls (14) of the crate, wherein within the interior, a structure with bottle receptacles (11) is formed in a grid by the crate frame, the first type of pinnacles, and the second type of pinnacles, wherein each bottle receptacle is configured to accommodate a single bottle, and wherein a combination of several bottle receptacles is configured to accommodate a container carrier (42), wherein each pinnacle has at least one rib with an end face directed outward from the centre of the pinnacle for stabilising a bottle inserted into a bottle receptacle, wherein no plane extending from the end face of a rib to the centre of the pinnacle is parallel to a side wall of the crate; and the first type of pinnacles is configured such that the end section of each pinnacle of the first type, which is furthest from the crate base, has a central notch for receiving a part of the container carrier; and each pinnacle of the first type has a maximum height from the crate base to the outer end of the end section, which approximately corresponds to the shoulder height of the bottle to be accommodated, wherein the maximum height is preferably between 100 mm and 130 mm, more preferably between 110 mm and 120 mm, and most preferably 116 mm; and each bottle, once inserted into a bottle receptacle, is surrounded by at least two, preferably three, and most preferably four pinnacles, with at least one pinnacle being a pinnacle of the first type, characterised in that the second type of pinnacle has a maximum height that is about 30% to 40%, preferably 33%-35%, of the maximum height of the first type of pinnacle.

Crate according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the structure with bottle receptacles is formed in a grid of 4 x 6 fields, wherein preferably six of these bottle receptacles in an arrangement of 2 x 3 fields are configured to accommodate a container carrier with six of these bottles, or four of these bottle receptacles in an arrangement of 2 x 2 fields are configured to accommodate a container carrier with four of these bottles, or eight of these bottle receptacles in an arrangement of 2 x 4 fields are configured to accommodate a container carrier with eight of these bottles.
5. Crate according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein each pinnacle of the first type has four ribs extending outward from the centre of the pinnacle and, in cross-section, are arranged in a crosswise manner, preferably around a centrally located hollow tube.
6. Crate according to claim 5, wherein each rib of the pinnacle of the first type tapers in the end section furthest from the crate base, from the centre of the pinnacle to the end of the end section towards the outward-facing end face, thereby forming the central notch.
7. Crate according to claim 6, wherein the central notch at the end section of the pinnacles of the first type has a height of 20 mm to 30 mm, preferably 25 mm, wherein preferably the angle between two edges of the tapering end section of two opposing ribs forming the central notch is 28° to 44°, preferably 36°.
8. Crate according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the end section of each pinnacle of the second type, which is furthest from the crate base, has a central notch for receiving a part of the container carrier, which has a height of 8 mm to 12 mm, preferably 10 mm, wherein preferably each rib of the pinnacle of the second type tapers in the end section furthest from the crate base, from the centre of the pinnacle to the end of the end section towards the outward-facing end face, thereby forming the central notch.
9. Crate according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein each plane extending from the end face of a rib to the centre of the pinnacle is offset by 42° to 48°, preferably 45°, relative to a side wall of the crate.
10. Combination of the crate according to any one of claims 1 to 9 and a container carrier (42), in particular for bottles (40), made of a foldable flat material, wherein the container carrier is a crate-shaped container carrier with a base wall and longitudinal walls, wherein the container carrier is characterised in that the base wall has at least one first recess (424) for receiving a pinnacle of the first type of a bottle crate, wherein the cross-section of the first recess is rectangular, preferably square, and wherein no plane formed by a side of the rectangle is parallel or perpendicular to the longitudinal wall; and that the base wall and the longitudinal walls have recesses (425) for receiving pinnacles of the second type, so that each bottle, once inserted into a bottle receptacle, is surrounded by at least two, preferably three, and even more preferably four recesses for receiving pinnacles, with at least one recess being a recess for receiving a pinnacle of the first type, wherein the container carrier is inserted into the crate, wherein the recesses in the container carrier have received the pinnacles, wherein preferably the central notch of the pinnacle of the first type has received the cross rib.
11. Combination according to claim 10, wherein the container carrier further comprises a lid wall, wherein the lid wall has at least two recesses which allow the container carrier to be lifted by engaging with the recesses, wherein the container carrier is preferably dimensioned to accommodate 4, 6, or 8 bottles.
12. Combination according to claim 10, wherein the container carrier is a crate-shaped, open-topped container carrier which additionally has end walls, has a central wall section in the container carrier parallel to both longitudinal walls, wherein the central wall section has a carrying handle in an upper section, has at least one cross rib parallel to the end walls between the central wall section and the longitudinal walls to form a structure with bottle receptacles in a grid, wherein each bottle receptacle is configured to accommodate a single bottle, and wherein the at least one cross rib for forming a structure with bottle receptacles in a grid is arranged only in the upper half-space of the crate-shaped, open-topped container carrier, and the base wall, the end wall, and the longitudinal walls have recesses for receiving pinnacles of the second type, so that each bottle, once inserted into a bottle receptacle, is surrounded by at least two, preferably three, and even more preferably four recesses for receiving pinnacles, with at least one recess being a recess for receiving a pinnacle of the first type.
13. Combination according to claim 12, wherein the container carrier has 4, 6, or 8 bottle receptacles, preferably 6 bottle receptacles.
14. Combination according to any of claims 10 to 13, wherein the container carrier is made from a single piece of flat material, preferably cardboard.
