Description

TECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] The present invention relates to an indicating device and an air conditioner.BACKGROUND ART

[0002] A light emitting device in the related art includes a plurality of light emitting elements, a wavelength conversion layer disposed above the plurality of light emitting elements, and a frame body having an inner peripheral surface surrounding each of the plurality of light emitting elements and having a quadrangular opening surrounding each of the plurality of light emitting elements (see JP 2008-147610 A). Furthermore, an illumination switch described in JP 2013-037874 A comprises a light emitting element mounted on a lower surface of a mounting hole provided in the light source and illuminating the display portion of the operating body through the mounting hole.SUMMARY OF INVENTIONTECHNICAL PROBLEMS

[0003] In the above-described light emitting device in the related art, the frame body defines each region of the wavelength conversion layer that is irradiated with light emitted from a corresponding one of the plurality of light emitting elements. Such a light emitting device, however, cannot meet a demand for variations of indication in which lights emitted from the plurality of light emitting devices are indicated in a superimposed manner or light emitted from one of the plurality of light emitting elements is exclusively indicated.SOLUTIONS TO PROBLEMS

[0004] An indicating device according to the present invention includes the features defined in claim 1.

[0005] According to the present invention, a part of the indicating part adjacent to the first light emitting element relative to the partition wall is irradiated with the light emitted from the first light emitting element and the light emitted from the second light emitting element in a superimposed manner. On the other hand, a part of the indicating part adjacent to the second light emitting element relative to the partition wall is irradiated only with the light emitted from the second light emitting element. This makes it possible to increase variations of indication. Further embodiments of the present invention are described below and define optional features.

[0006] In the indicating device according to an embodiment, a longest distance between the first light emitting element and the first region is shorter than a shortest distance between the second light emitting element and the first region.

[0007] The longer the distance from the light source, the smaller the light intensity. According to the above-described embodiment, the longest distance between the first light emitting element and the first region is shorter than the shortest distance between the second light emitting element and the first region. This makes, even in a case where the first light emitting element and the second light emitting element emit light having approximately the same light emission intensity, light reaching the first region from the first light emitting element larger in illuminance than light reaching the first region from the second light emitting element. This allows the light emission color of the first light emitting element to be clearly indicated in the first region.

[0008] The indicating device according to an embodiment further includes a cover provided to cover the indicating part, the cover including a light-shielding part having a light-shielding property, the light-shielding part being provided to cover a part of the first region

[0009] According to the above-described embodiment, the light-shielding part is provided to cover the part of the first region, so that the first region is partially shielded from light. Accordingly, the part illuminated by the first light emitting element and the second light emitting element and the part shielded from light by the light-shielding part are positioned adjacent to each other in the first region. This makes the indicated part in the first region clear.

[0010] The indicating device according to an embodiment further includes a switch, in which the light-shielding part of the cover is disposed at a position corresponding to an operation part of the switch.

[0011] According to the above-described embodiment, the light-shielding part of the cover is disposed at the position corresponding to the operation part of the switch, so that the light-shielding part allows a user to clearly recognize the position of the operation part of the switch.

[0012] In the indicating device according to an embodiment, the first region irradiated with the light emitted from the first light emitting element is higher in average illuminance than the first region irradiated with the light emitted from the second light emitting element.

[0013] According to the above-described embodiment, the first region irradiated with the light emitted from the first light emitting element is higher in average illuminance than the first region irradiated with the light emitted from the second light emitting element, so that the light emission color of the first light emitting element can be clearly indicated in the first region.

[0014] According to an embodiment, the first light emitting element is a single-color LED, and the second light emitting element is a multi-color LED capable of emitting light of a plurality of colors.

[0015] An air conditioner according to the present invention includes the indicating device.

[0016] The air conditioner according to an embodiment has a plurality of operating modes, and a light emission mode of the indicating device changes in accordance with each of the operating modes.

[0017] According to the above-described embodiment, the light emission mode of the indicating device changes in accordance with each of the operating modes of the air conditioner, so that the user can easily recognize each of the operating modes of the air conditioner. Further, for example, changing a light emission pattern or a light emission color as the light emission mode allows an increase in visibility of the indicating part.BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS

[0019] With reference to the attached drawings, a description will be given below of an embodiment of the present invention.

[0020] Fig. 1 is a perspective view of an indoor unit 1 of an air conditioner according to the embodiment of the present invention.

[0021] As illustrated in Fig. 1, the air conditioner according to the present embodiment is an air conditioner including the indoor unit 1 of a floor-standing type. The air conditioner according to the present embodiment has four operating modes, a cooling operating mode, a heating operating mode, a ventilation operating mode, and a dehumidifying operating mode.

[0022] The indoor unit 1 includes a casing 10 that houses components such as a fan (not illustrated) and a heat exchanger (not illustrated). The casing 10 includes a top grille 11 provided with a blow-out port 13. The above-described blow-out port 13 is provided with a horizontal flap 12 for adjusting an airflow direction.

[0023] The indoor unit 1 includes an indicating device 20 whose light emission mode changes in accordance with each of the operating modes of the air conditioner. The indicating device 20 is embedded in the top grille 11 of the indoor unit 1 so as to allow a user to visually recognize each of the light emission modes.

[0024] Fig. 2 is an exploded perspective view of the indicating device 20 according to the present embodiment.

[0025] With reference to Fig. 2, the indicating device 20 according to the present embodiment includes a printed circuit board 30, a lamp cover 40, a switch cover 50, a light receiving lens 60, and a front cover 70. With the indicating device 20 built up, the front cover 70, the switch cover 50, the lamp cover 40, and the printed circuit board 30 are arranged in this order from the outside of the indoor unit 1 (illustrated in Fig. 1).

[0026] On the printed circuit board 30 according to the present embodiment, a first light emitting element 31 and a second light emitting element 32 capable of emitting light different in light emission color from light emitted from the first light emitting element 31 are mounted. According to the present embodiment, the first light emitting element 31 is a single-color light emitting diode (LED) capable of emitting green light. The second light emitting element 32 is a multi-color LED capable of emitting light of a plurality of colors. Specifically, the second light emitting element 32 is a multi-color LED that includes a red LED chip, a green LED chip, and a blue LED chip so as to be capable of emitting light of each color, that is, red light, blue light, or green light, and light that is a mixture of some of the red light, the blue light, and the green light. On the printed circuit board 30, a third light emitting element 33 is further mounted. The third light emitting element 33 according to the present embodiment is a single-color LED capable of emitting white light.

[0027] On the printed circuit board 30, an operation switch 34 and a light receiving element 35 are mounted. When the operation switch 34 is operated, the above-described air conditioner is switched between operation and non-operation. Further, the light receiving element 35 receives a signal from an external operation device such as a remote controller. The operation switch 34 according to the present embodiment is an example of a switch according to the present invention.

[0028] The lamp cover 40 is provided so as to cover the printed circuit board 30. The lamp cover 40 is made of light-shielding resin.

[0029] The lamp cover 40 includes a wall 41 having a tubular shape. A hole defined by the wall 41 allows a space of the lamp cover 40 adjacent to the switch cover 50 and a space of the lamp cover 40 adjacent to the printed circuit board 30 to communicate with each other. With the indicating device 20 built up, the lamp cover 40 is disposed so as to cause the wall 41 to surround the first light emitting element 31, the second light emitting element 32, and the third light emitting element 33 provided on the printed circuit board 30.

[0030] The wall 41 is provided with a partition wall 42 having an approximately semitubular shape and projecting toward the inside of the wall 41. With the indicating device 20 built up, the lamp cover 40 is disposed so as to cause the partition wall 42 and a part of the wall 41 to surround the first light emitting element 31 provided on the printed circuit board 30.

[0031] The lamp cover 40 is formed of a monolithic component. That is, the wall 41 and the partition wall 42 provided on the wall 41 are integrally formed. The wall 41 and the partition wall 42 provided on the wall 41 are made of light-shielding resin.

[0032] The lamp cover 40 is provided with a receiving hole 43 for receiving the light receiving lens 60. The receiving hole 43 allows a space of the lamp cover 40 adjacent to the printed circuit board 30 and a space of the lamp cover 40 adjacent to the top grille 11 to communicate with each other.

[0033] The switch cover 50 according to the present embodiment includes an indicating part 51 that is translucent and has a dome shape. The indicating part 51 is irradiated with light emitted from each of the first light emitting element 31, the second light emitting element 32, and the third light emitting element 33. With the indicating device 20 built up, the switch cover 50 is attached to the lamp cover 40 so as to cause the indicating part 51 to cover an opening defined by the wall 41 of the lamp cover 40. Further, with the indicating device 20 built up, the switch cover 50 is disposed so as to position the indicating part 51 in a circular first hole 11a provided in the top grille 11.

[0034] With the indicating device 20 built up, the light receiving lens 60 is attached to a second hole 11b provided in the top grille 11. A part of the light receiving lens 60 is exposed to the outside of the indoor unit 1 (illustrated in Fig. 1) from the second hole 11b of the top grille 11. The light receiving lens 60 receives light (for example, infrared rays) from an external operation device such as a remote controller to guide the light toward the light receiving element 35 provided on the printed circuit board 30.

[0035] The front cover 70 is attached to the top grille 11 so as to cover the first hole 11a of the top grille 11 and the indicating part 51 of the switch cover 50 disposed in the first hole 11a. The front cover 70 includes a protrusion 71 that is translucent and has a circular dome shape, the protrusion 71 being provided so as to cover the indicating part 51 of the switch cover 50. A light-shielding coating is applied to a part of the protrusion 71. Accordingly, a light-shielding part 72 having a circular shape is formed in the part of the protrusion 71. The front cover 70 according to the present embodiment is an example of a cover according to the present invention.

[0036] Fig. 3 is a plan view of a region around the indicating device 20 according to the present embodiment. Fig. 3 illustrates a state where the switch cover 50 and the front cover 70 (illustrated in Fig. 2) are removed.

[0037] With reference to Fig. 3, the partition wall 42 is provided so as to surround the first light emitting element 31. Accordingly, the first light emitting element 31 and the second light emitting element 32 are separated from each other by the partition wall 42. In other words, the partition wall 42 is provided so as to intersect with a virtual line VL connecting a center of the first light emitting element 31 and a center of the second light emitting element 32. Further, the second light emitting element 32 and the third light emitting element 33 are disposed on a side opposite to the first light emitting element 31 relative to the partition wall 42. Note that when the first light emitting element 31 is viewed from above, a center of gravity of an upper surface of the first light emitting element 31 coincides with a center of the first light emitting element 31. Similarly, when the second light emitting element 32 is viewed from above, a center of gravity of an upper surface of the second light emitting element 32 coincides with a center of the second light emitting element 32.

[0038] A first distance d1 between the partition wall 42 and the first light emitting element 31 is shorter than a second distance d2 between the partition wall 42 and the second light emitting element 32. Specifically, the first distance d1 is a distance on the virtual line VL between the partition wall 42 and the first light emitting element 31. The second distance d2 is a distance on the virtual line VL between the partition wall 42 and the second light emitting element 32. According to the present embodiment, the second distance d2 is at least twice the first distance d1. The second distance d2 is preferably at least three times the first distance d1.

[0039] Fig. 4 is a plan view of the region around the indicating device 20 according to the present embodiment. Fig. 4 illustrates a state where the front cover 70 (illustrated in Fig. 2) is removed. That is, in Fig. 4, the switch cover 50 is exposed.

[0040] The indicating part 51 according to the present embodiment includes a first region 52 irradiated with the light emitted from the first light emitting element 31 and the light emitted from the second light emitting element 32, and a second region 53 irradiated only with the light emitted from the second light emitting element 32. In Fig. 4, the first region 52 is indicated by dot hatching, and the second region 53 is indicated by line hatching.

[0041] The first region 52 is defined by the partition wall 42. The partition wall 42 having a light-shielding property can prevent the light emitted from the first light emitting element 31 from spreading to the outside of the first region 52 by limiting a region of the indicating part 51 irradiated with the light emitted from the first light emitting element 31 to the first region 52. This makes it possible to clearly distinguish between the first region 52 irradiated with the light emitted from the first light emitting element 31 and the second region 53 not irradiated with the light emitted from the first light emitting element 31 in the indicating part 51. Further, the first region 52 is partially covered with the light-shielding part 72 (indicated by a long dashed double-short dashed line in the drawing) of the front cover 70.

[0042] The indicating part 51 is entirely irradiated with the light emitted from the second light emitting element 32 according to the present embodiment. Similarly, the indicating part 51 is roughly entirely irradiated with the light emitted from the third light emitting element 33 according to the present embodiment. The second region 53 according to the present embodiment is a part of the indicating part 51 not irradiated with the light emitted from the first light emitting element 31. Further, the second region 53 is partially covered with the light-shielding part 72 (indicated by a long dashed double-short dashed line in the drawing) of the front cover 70.

[0043] The first region 52 irradiated with the light emitted from the first light emitting element 31 is higher in average illuminance than the first region 52 irradiated with the light emitted from the second light emitting element 32.

[0044] A longest distance L1 between the first light emitting element 31 and the first region 52 is shorter than a shortest distance L2 between the second light emitting element 32 and the first region 52. The longest distance L1 is a linear distance in a three-dimensional space between a point A farthest from the first light emitting element 31 in the first region 52 and the first light emitting element 31 (illustrated in a planar view in Fig. 4). Similarly, the shortest distance L2 is a linear distance in a three-dimensional space between a point B closest to the second light emitting element 32 in the first region 52 and the second light emitting element 32 (illustrated in a planar view in Fig. 4).

[0045] Fig. 5 is a cross-sectional view taken along line V-V of Fig. 4.

[0046] With reference to Fig. 5, the first light emitting element 31, the second light emitting element 32, and the third light emitting element 33 are surrounded by the wall 41 of the lamp cover 40. Further, the partition wall 42 having a light-shielding property is provided between the first light emitting element 31 and the second light emitting element 32. Further, the partition wall 42 is disposed at a distance from the indicating part 51 of the switch cover 50. The partition wall 42 prevents the light emitted from the first light emitting element 31 from widely spreading and defines the first region 52 by limiting the region irradiated with the light emitted from the first light emitting element 31 in the indicating part 51. On the other hand, the light emitted from the second light emitting element 32 passes between the partition wall 42 and the indicating part 51 to impinge all over the indicating part 51. The partition wall 42 is smaller in dimension in a rising direction (vertical direction in Fig. 5) than the wall 41. The dimension of the partition wall 42 in the rising direction is at least 1 / 2 times the dimension of the wall 41 in the rising direction. The dimension of the partition wall 42 in the rising direction is preferably at least 2 / 3 times the dimension of the wall 41 in the rising direction.

[0047] A surface of the printed circuit board 30 includes an installation region R defined by the wall 41 of the lamp cover 40. The partition wall 42 partitions the installation region R into a first installation region R1 and a second installation region R2. The first light emitting element 31 is disposed in the first installation region R1, and the second light emitting element 32 is disposed in the second installation region R2.

[0048] The switch cover 50 includes a projecting part 54 extending from the indicating part 51 toward the operation switch 34. When the indicating part 51 is pressed toward the printed circuit board 30, the projecting part 54 moves toward the printed circuit board 30 to press the operation switch 34 provided on the printed circuit board 30. That is, the switch cover 50 according to the present embodiment serves as an operation part that is operated by the user to operate the operation switch 34. The indicating part 51 of the switch cover 50 according to the present embodiment is an example of an operation part of a switch according to the present invention.

[0049] The light receiving lens 60 is partially exposed to the outside from the top grille 11. Further, the light receiving lens 60 extends from the part exposed to the outside toward the light receiving element 35.

[0050] The front cover 70 is disposed so as to cause the protrusion 71 to face the indicating part 51 of the switch cover 50. Accordingly, the light-shielding part 72 formed in the protrusion 71 is disposed at a position corresponding to the indicating part 51 serving as the operation part of the switch according to the present invention. Further, the protrusion 71 protrudes in a direction remote from the indicating part 51. This increases visibility of the indicating part 51 as viewed from the side.

[0051] Fig. 6 is a diagram illustrating one light emission mode of the indicating device 20 according to the present embodiment.

[0052] In one light emission mode illustrated in Fig. 6, the first light emitting element 31 (illustrated in Fig. 4) is off, and the second light emitting element 32 (illustrated in Fig. 4) or the third light emitting element 33 (illustrated in Fig. 4) is on. For example, when the air conditioner is in the cooling operating mode, the second light emitting element 32 irradiates the first region 52 and the second region 53 with blue emission light. Further, the indicating device 20 causes, when the air conditioner is in the heating operating mode, the second light emitting element 32 to irradiate the first region 52 and the second region 53 with red emission light. When the air conditioner is in the dehumidifying operating mode, the second light emitting element 32 irradiates the first region 52 and the second region 53 with green emission light. Further, for example, when the air conditioner is in the ventilation operating mode, the third light emitting element 33 irradiates the first region 52 and the second region 53 with white emission light. The combinations of the operating mode of the air conditioner and the color indicated in the second region 53 are not limited to the combinations described above.

[0053] Fig. 7 is a diagram illustrating another light emission mode of the indicating device 20 according to the present embodiment.

[0054] In another light emission mode illustrated in Fig. 7, the first light emitting element 31 (illustrated in Fig. 4) is on, and the second light emitting element 32 (illustrated in Fig. 4) or the third light emitting element 33 (illustrated in Fig. 4) is on. For example, when a timer is set, the indicating device 20 turns on the first light emitting element 31 in addition to the second light emitting element 32 or the third light emitting element 33 to indicate that the timer has been set.

[0055] For example, when the air conditioner is in the cooling operating mode, the first region 52 is irradiated with light including green emission light emitted from the first light emitting element 31 and blue emission light emitted from the second light emitting element 32, and the second region 53 is irradiated with the blue emission light emitted from the second light emitting element 32. Accordingly, when the air conditioner is in the cooling operating mode, a bluish green color is indicated in the first region 52, and a blue color different from the color indicated in the first region 52 is indicated in the second region 53.

[0056] For example, when the air conditioner is in the heating operating mode, the first region 52 is irradiated with light including green emission light emitted from the first light emitting element 31 and red emission light emitted from the second light emitting element 32, and the second region 53 is irradiated with the red emission light emitted from the second light emitting element 32. Accordingly, when the air conditioner is in the cooling operating mode, a reddish green color is indicated in the first region 52, and a red color different from the color indicated in the first region 52 is indicated in the second region 53.

[0057] For example, when the air conditioner is in the dehumidifying operating mode, the first region 52 is irradiated with light including green emission light emitted from the first light emitting element 31 and green emission light emitted from the second light emitting element 32, and the second region 53 is irradiated with the green emission light emitted from the second light emitting element 32. At this time, for example, the green color of the light emitted from the first light emitting element 31 may be more vivid than the green color of the light emitted from the second light emitting element 32. Accordingly, when the air conditioner is in the dehumidifying operating mode, a vivid green color is indicated in the first region 52, and a green color different from the green color indicated in the first region 52 is indicated in the second region 53.

[0058] For example, when the air conditioner is in the ventilation operating mode, the first region 52 is irradiated with light including green emission light emitted from the first light emitting element 31 and white emission light emitted from the third light emitting element 33, and the second region 53 is irradiated with the white emission light emitted from the third light emitting element 33. Accordingly, when the air conditioner is in the ventilation operating mode, a whitish green color is indicated in the first region 52, and a white color different from the color indicated in the first region 52 is indicated in the second region 53.

[0059] The indicating device 20 according to the present embodiment has the following effects.

[0060] The first distance d1 between the first light emitting element 31 and the partition wall 42 is shorter than the second distance d2 between the second light emitting element 32 and the partition wall 42. Therefore, a part of the indicating part 51 adjacent to the first light emitting element 31 relative to the partition wall 42 is irradiated with the light emitted from the first light emitting element 31 and the light emitted from the second light emitting element 32 in a superimposed manner. On the other hand, a part of the indicating part 51 adjacent to the second light emitting element 32 relative to the partition wall 42 is irradiated only with the light emitted from the second light emitting element 32. This makes it possible to increase variations of indication for the indicating part 51.

[0061] If the partition wall 42 is in contact with the indicating part 51 with no gap between the indicating part 51 and the partition wall 42, a part that is not irradiated with either the light emitted from the first light emitting element 31 or the light emitted from the second light emitting element 32 appears in a region of the indicating part 51 facing the partition wall 42. The above-described part, therefore, prevents the region irradiated with the light emitted from the first light emitting element 31 and the region irradiated with the light emitted from the second light emitting element 32 from being continuous with each other. On the other hand, according to the above-described embodiment, the indicating part 51 and the partition wall 42 are arranged at a distance from each other, so that a part of the light emitted from the second light emitting element 32 passes between the indicating part 51 and the partition wall 42 to impinge on the first region 52. This allows the first region 52 and the second region 53 of the indicating part 51 to be illuminated without interruption.

[0062] The longer the distance from the light source, the smaller the light intensity. According to the above-described embodiment, as illustrated in Fig. 4, the longest distance L1 between the first light emitting element 31 and the first region 52 is shorter than the shortest distance L2 between the second light emitting element 32 and the first region 52. This makes, even in a case where the first light emitting element 31 and the second light emitting element 32 emit light having approximately the same light emission intensity, light reaching the first region 52 from the first light emitting element 31 larger in illuminance than light reaching the first region 52 from the second light emitting element 32. This allows the light emission color of the first light emitting element 31 to be clearly indicated in the first region 52.

[0063] According to the above-described embodiment, the first region 52 is partially covered with the light-shielding part 72 of the front cover 70, so that the first region 52 is partially shielded from light. Accordingly, the part illuminated by the first light emitting element 31 and the second light emitting element 32 and the part shielded from light by the light-shielding part 72 are positioned adjacent to each other in the first region 52. This makes the indicated part in the first region 52 clear.

[0064] According to the above-described embodiment, as illustrated in Fig. 5, the light-shielding part 72 of the front cover 70 is disposed at the position corresponding to the indicating part 51 serving as the operation part of the operation switch 34, so that the light-shielding part 72 allows the user to clearly recognize the position of the indicating part 51.

[0065] According to the above-described embodiment, the first region 52 irradiated with the light emitted from the first light emitting element 31 is higher in average illuminance than the first region 52 irradiated with the light emitted from the second light emitting element 32, so that the light emission color of the first light emitting element 31 can be clearly indicated in the first region 52.

[0066] According to the above-described embodiment, the light emission mode of the indicating device 20 changes in accordance with the operating mode of the air conditioner, so that the user can easily recognize the operating mode of the air conditioner. Further, for example, changing a light emission pattern or a light emission color as the light emission mode allows an increase in visibility of the indicating part 51.

[0067] According to the above-described embodiment, the air conditioner is of a floor-standing type, but the present invention is not limited to the embodiment, and the air conditioner may be of another type such as a wall-mounted type, for example.

[0068] According to the above-described embodiment, the air conditioner has four operating modes, the cooling operating mode, the heating operating mode, the ventilation operating mode, and the dehumidifying operating mode, but the present invention is not limited to the embodiment, and the air conditioner is only required to have a plurality of operating modes.REFERENCE SIGNS LIST
