Abstract
The invention relates to an industrial packaging product: a flexible intermediate bulk container (FIBC), commonly referred to as a "big bag." The invention addresses the need for a sustainable, plastic-free alternative by using plant-based jute fiber as the primary construction material. The big bag can be used across a wide range of industries and can be customized to meet different customer needs (Figures 1–18). The invention includes a new biomaterial, a structural build-up and technical improvements that combine increased load capacity (up to 3 tons) via crossed handles and U-panels, durability via moisture and pest control, wide applicability via dust protection and safety via fire retardant treatment. The invention supports the goals of a circular economy and reduces environmental impact.
