Description

[0001] FLOW REGULATED ENERGY CONVERSION TURBINE METER

[0002] Technical Field

[0003] The invention relates to a flow regulated energy conversion turbine meter used for measuring the flow rate in installations for air conditioning and irrigation systems, as well as for generating electrical energy.

[0004] The invention particularly relates to a turbine meter which maintain to the maximum value by reducing the flow rate by means of a pump-type valve feature and which, thanks to the water flow, both controls the flow rate and provides energy recovery by converting the mechanical energy into electrical energy instead of just reading the flow rate.

[0005] Known State of the Art

[0006] With the increasing population and developing industry in the world every year, energy is needed more day by day. Due to the decrease in fuel reserves and environmental factors, the movement towards different energy sources continues rapidly. The solution to this problem is tried to be reached from renewable energy sources and sources that can be reached continuously or again from the natural environment. This type of energy, which can be easily produced from resources, is seen as a solution suitable for the requirements of the modern age. These sources can be presented as an important alternative energy because they are resources such as wave energy, sun and wind, which exist spontaneously in nature and do not deplete over time.

[0007] As there is a need for energy in every field in the current technique, there is also a need for this requirement in the installation sector. Nowadays, studies are carried out to maintain energy efficiency in these systems which are used intensively. In these studies, heat recovery exchanger is used and waste heat is recovered and utilised. As systems that provide energy efficiency on the one hand energy conversion on the other hand are put into operation, ecosystems will be able to manage themselves in a costless way in the near future. In addition, in the installation sector, energy transfer occurs according to the amount of flow rate passing through the heating lines. Keeping this flow rate under control is very important in terms of preventing lost energy and lost water needs. For this reason, there is a need for systems that provide energy conversion with flow measurement in installations in the known state of the technique. In turbine meters used in current applications, the most important turbine meter part is the turbine meter rotor. Unlike power turbines, the turbine meter rotor smoothly interrupts the flow during measurement without disturbing the fluid motion. The turbine meter body houses the turbine blades, inlet and outlet flow rectifiers and the rotor rotation speed sensor. However, the mechanical energy in the system is only used to detect the amount of water flow. This causes the said mechanical energy to be used only for the amount of flow and the need for energy is not met and energy recovery is not achieved due to the fact that electrical energy is not obtained by recycling.

[0008] The deficiencies in the systems in the current technique are listed below;

[0009] • Balancing valves are affected by pressure and do not have energy recovery.

[0010] • Dynamic balancing valves; there is no energy recovery and cannot measure flow rate.

[0011] • PICV; energy recovery can’t perform.

[0012] • Pumps; pumps are not used for each floor only in supply groups, main floor lines, distribution within the floor in the lines. Energy recovery can’t perform.

[0013] • Thermostatic valves; there is no flow measurement. Energy recovery can’t perform.

[0014] • Control valves with flowmeter; there is no turbine adjustment mechanism. Energy recovery can’t perform.

[0015] In the research conducted in the literature, the document numbered TR2010 / 03015 can be shown as an example of the known state of the technique. The said document relates to a static balancing valve having a Y-type body which enables flow adjustment in installations through which water as a fluid usually passes under certain pressure and temperatures, and which enables precise pressure difference measurement to be taken while adjusting the said flow rate, and in addition accordingly the optimum value of the flow rate to be achieved. In the said invention, a valve for flow adjustment is mentioned.

[0016] As a result, the existence of the above problems and the inadequacy of the existing solutions was necessary to make a development in the relevant technical field.

[0017] Purpose of Invention The present invention relates to a flow regulated energy recycling turbine meter, which eliminates the above-mentioned disadvantages and brings new advantages to the relevant technical field.

[0018] The main purpose of the invention is to provide a turbine meter that both controls the flow rate and provides energy recovery by converting mechanical energy into electrical energy instead of just reading the flow rate thanks to the water flow and maintains the flow rate at the maximum value by reducing the flow rate with the pump type valve feature in both air conditioning and irrigation systems installations.

[0019] The purpose of the invention is to provide a turbine meter that controls dynamic flow rate changes and provides energy recovery by utilising the turbine resistance.

[0020] A further purpose of the invention is to provide a turbine meter for measuring the amount of flow in installations for both air conditioning and irrigation systems, as well as for energy recovery.

[0021] In order to fulfil all the above-mentioned purposes and all the purposes that may arise from the detailed description, the invention is a flow regulated energy conversion turbine meter, which is used in the measurement of the amount of flow in air conditioning and irrigation systems installations and at the same time in obtaining electrical energy, and which comprise a body through which the flow passes, a turbine that measures the flow rate of the flow passing through the body, wherein: magnetic sensor that adjusts the rotation speed of the turbine,

[0022] DC motor which is connected to a turbine and converts mechanical energy into electrical energy,

[0023] - the control unit that measures the flow rate by obtaining the flow rate with the electrical signal transmitted by the magnetic sensor and also ensures that the flow rate passing through the body is kept at the flow rate set by the user,

[0024] - the regenerative braking system, which is activated by the control unit and provides a return to the adjusted flow rate by braking the DC motor if the flow amount adjusted by the user is less than the flow amount passing through the body,

[0025] - battery charging unit connected to the DC motor and activated by the electrical signal from the DC motor when the flow rate adjusted by the user is exceeded,

[0026] - a battery that stores electrical energy by being charged by means of a battery charging unit, an electrical signal converter unit which converts the low-voltage direct current stored in the battery into high-voltage alternating current.

[0027] The structural and characteristic features and all advantages of the invention will be more clearly understood by means of the figures given below and the detailed description written with reference to these figures. Therefore, the evaluation should be made by taking these figures and the detailed description into consideration.

[0052] Detailed Description of the Invention

[0053] In this detailed description, preferred alternatives of the flow regulated energy recycling turbine meter (100) of the invention are described only for the purpose of a better understanding of the subject matter and in a non-limiting manner.

[0054] Figure 1 shows a schematic view of the flow regulated energy recycling turbine meter (100) of subject matter of the invention. Accordingly, the flow regulated energy recycling turbine meter (100) is in its most basic form; body (10) through which the flow passes, turbine (20) which measures the flow rate of the flow passing through the body (10), magnetic sensor (30) which adjusts the rotation speed of the turbine (20), DC motor (40) which is connected to the turbine (20) and converts mechanical energy into electrical energy, the control unit (50) which measures the flow rate by obtaining the flow rate with the electrical signal transmitted by the magnetic sensor (30) and at the same time ensures that the flow rate passing through the body (10) is kept at the flow rate set by the user (K), regenerative braking system (60), which is activated by means of the control unit (50) and provides a return to set flow rate by braking the DC motor (40) if the flow rate set by the user (K) is less than the flow rate passing through the body (10), battery charging unit (70), which is activated by the electrical signal from the DC motor (40) when the flow rate set by the user (K) is exceeded, the battery (80), which stores electrical energy by charging by means of the battery charging unit (70), electrical signal converter unit (90) converts the low voltage direct current stored in the battery (80) into high voltage alternating current.

[0055] In the flow regulated energy recycling turbine meter (100) of subject matter of the invention, the body (10) shown in figure 2a is the part through which the flow passes. By means of the turbine (20) located on the body (10), the flow rate of the flow passing through the body (10) is measured. The rotation speed of the turbine (20) is adjusted by means of the magnetic sensor (30). The amount of flow detected by the magnetic sensor is transmitted as an electrical signal to the control unit (50). The said control unit (50) obtains the flow rate by means of the electrical signal detected and provides the measurement operation of the flow rate. The control unit (50) also ensures that the flow amount passing through the body (10) is kept at the flow amount adjusted by the user (K).

[0056] As shown in Figure 2b, mechanical energy is converted into electrical energy by means of a DC motor (40) connected to the turbine (20). When the flow rate adjusted by the user (K) from the control unit (50) is exceeded, at least one battery charging unit (70) connected to the DC motor (40) is activated. The said battery charging unit (70) is connected to at least one battery (80). The battery (80) stores electrical energy from the DC motor (40) via the battery charging unit (70).

[0057] When the flow amount adjusted by the user (K) is exceeded, at least one regenerative braking system (60) is connected to the control unit (50) to bring the flow to the adjusted flow amount. The said regenerative braking system (60) is activated by means of the control unit (50), and if the flow amount adjusted by the user (K) is less than the flow amount passing through the body (10), it brakes the DC motor (40) to return to the set flow amount.

[0058] The low voltage direct current stored in the battery (80) is converted into high voltage alternating current or high voltage direct current by means of the electrical signal converter unit (90).

[0059] The working principle of the flow regulated energy recycling turbine meter ( 100) of subject matter of the invention is as follows;

[0060] The amount of flow flowing through the body (10) is detected by the turbine (20) and the magnetic sensor (30). The amount of flow detected by the magnetic sensor (30) is transmitted to the control unit (50) as an electrical signal. The control unit (50) obtains the flow rate by means of the detected electrical signal and the flow rate is measured. Meanwhile, the DC motor (40) connected to the turbine (20) starts to rotate with the force provided by the flow. The user (K) enters the flow rate value into the control unit (50) to limit the flow through the body (10). When the flow rate value is exceeded in the flow regulated energy recycling turbine meter (100), the control unit (50), which is the decision mechanism, activates the regenerative braking system (60). It also activates the battery charging unit (70) so that the DC motor (40), which converts mechanical energy into electrical energy, can charge the battery (80). Thus, with the regenerative braking system (60), both the battery (80) is charged and the flow is restored to the adjusted flow rate. In this process, the DC motor (40) connected to the turbine (20) creates a resistance to the rotation of the turbine (20) with the regenerative braking system (60), i.e. to the flow, and the flow is returned to the adjusted flow rate by slowing down the speed of the flow.

[0061] By means of the electrical signal converter unit (90), the low voltage direct current of the charged battery (80) is converted into high voltage alternating current or high voltage direct current. By means of the flow regulated energy recycling turbine meter (100) of subject matter of the invention, instead of only reading the flow rate both flow rate control and energy recovery by converting mechanical energy into electrical energy are provided. Thus, energy recovery is achieved by converting the energy already present in the general installation systems.

[0062] Figure 3 shows an example of the installation application of the flow regulated energy recycling turbine meter (100) of subject matter of the invention for use in heating systems (I). Flow regulated energy recycling turbine meter (100) is connected to floor A (A), floor B (B), floor C (C), floor D (D) and floor E (E). With the flow provided from the flow line (Ak), the low voltage direct current stored in the battery (80) that stores the electrical energy from the DC motor (40) is converted into high voltage alternating current by means of the electrical signal converter unit (90) and transmitted to floor A (A), floor B (B), floor C (C), floor D (D) and floor E (E) via the electrical panel (P).
