Abstract
Description
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present invention relates to a display unit made of laminated cardboard, or similar material, for displaying products, normally in commercial premises. It has a parallelepiped-shaped configuration with a plurality of shelves for the location of the products to be displayed and is characterised in that, to facilitate transportation and storage, the display unit is folded to have a flat configuration.BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002] In the current state of the art, laminated cardboard display units are known which are folded to be stored when not in use, taking up a reduced space.
[0003] However, it is oftentimes a problem with these exhibitors that the assembly is very complex and a lot of time has to be spent on the installation thereof.
[0004] Document ES 1110005 U discloses a foldable shelf that starts from a cardboard sheet to become a parallelepiped-shaped display unit with several shelves for placing products.
[0005] However, this exhibitor has the drawback that, on the one hand, the shelves must be unfolded for installation thereof and, on the other hand, the shelves are made up of a cardboard sheet divided into two pieces, so the load resistance is that which is supported by the cardboard sheet which is very limited due to the fact that same is lacking a reinforcing structure.
[0006] Document ES 2379334 A1 discloses a foldable and self-assembling display unit made of cardboard sheets. This display unit is configured as a parallelepiped that incorporates a series of shelves for placing products. The shelves are attached to one of the lateral walls of the display unit and are supported on projections on the opposite wall, so that both assembly and disassembly are extremely simple.
[0007] However, this same simplicity of assembly and disassembly implies that the load capacity of the shelves is very limited, which, as shelves are lacking reinforcements, is limited to the capacity of the cardboard sheet itself.
[0008] Document FR2660177A1 discloses a display stand of a semi-rigid material such as corrugated board intended to rest on the floor or on a support of any kind via a flat base and / or a vertical rear wall (2) optionally connected to this base and perpendicular to it, and via two parallel side walls (3) connected to the rear wall. According to the invention, the shelves (11) possess a rigid skeleton comprising at least one beam (12) running transversely between the side walls (3) with the ends engaged through openings formed in these walls, said skeleton being covered [wrapped] in a continuous sheet (13) of a semi-rigid material such as board or corrugated board.
[0009] However, the final assembly of this display does not provide a solid construction.DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0010] In order to achieve the objectives and prevent the aforementioned drawbacks, the present invention describes a foldable display, made of laminar material with the features that will be mentioned below.
[0011] The display unit comprises a rear wall, of rectangular configuration, joined by each of the largest sides to a lateral wall.
[0012] It also comprises at least one shelf comprising a front face, a bending face and a support face, the three faces joined longitudinally, so that the support face is joined to the bending face by an initial edge and comprises three free edges, two lateral edges and a final edge.
[0013] The exhibitor also comprises the following elements: at least one T-shaped opening located in each of the lateral walls facing each other. at least one crossbar, at least one pair of mounting brackets, joined to the rear wall and each of the lateral walls, respectively,
[0014] In addition, the exhibitor has the following features: the front face of each of the shelves is attached to the lateral walls by inserting each end into the corresponding vertical openings, the crossbar is configured as an elongated body ending in a pair of flaps at each end, unfolded in a perpendicular position to the elongated body, which are inserted into the T-shaped openings in the lateral walls, the crossbar and the pair of mounting brackets form a flat surface to support the shelf without play.
[0015] On the other hand, the lateral wall is preferably made up of an inner lateral wall, where the slots are located, and a smooth outer lateral wall which, in addition to acting as a structural reinforcement for the display unit, also makes it more aesthetic, by preventing the slots from being visible from the outside.
[0016] Also preferably, the display unit comprises a plurality of shelves, each of them resting on the corresponding crossbars and pairs of mounting brackets.
[0017] Finally, to save storage space and be able to place the display unit, once folded, in a box of manageable dimensions, the walls comprise a bending line.DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0018] To complete the description of the invention, and for the purpose of helping to make the features thereof more readily understandable, according to a preferred exemplary embodiment thereof, a set of drawings is included wherein, by way of illustration and not limitation, the following figures have been represented: Figure 1 represents a perspective view of the display unit of the invention without the shelves, so that the details of the walls can be appreciated. PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
[0020] The present invention avoids the current problems mentioned in the state of the art and discloses a display unit which incorporates crossbars (3) and mounting brackets (8) for holding the shelves (4), which configure same with a high load capacity, while also simplifying assembly and disassembly time to the maximum, by having all the components integrated and without having to search for them externally or for their assembly location, the display unit being formed as a single piece.
[0021] As represented in Figure 1, the display unit of the invention is made up of a rear wall (1) joined by its two largest sides to two lateral walls (2). Each of the lateral walls (2), in turn, is made up of two sheets, an inner work sheet, and another outer sheet by way of a protective cover, to provide the aesthetic aspect of the display unit.
[0022] In this way, the display unit comprises five sheets: a rear one, joined on each side to a sheet that forms the smooth outer lateral wall (13), and each of these outer lateral walls (13) joined to another sheet, an inner lateral wall (12), in which openings (9, 10) are housed for placing the shelves (4) of the display unit.
[0023] As indicated, the display unit comprises a series of shelves (4) intended to house the products to be displayed.
[0024] The shelves (4) are made up of a front face (5), responsible for attaching the display to the lateral walls (2), a support face (7), intended to receive the objects to be displayed, and a bending face (6), responsible for giving the support face (7) the location in height with respect to the front face (5).
[0025] The shelves (4) are attached in vertical openings (11) incorporated in the inner lateral walls (12). To do this, the ends of the front faces (5) have an extension, not shown in the figures, that is inserted into the vertical openings (11). To facilitate this insertion, the vertical openings are of a width considerably greater than the thickness of the extensions in the front faces (5), although they have a flap (15) which, once the extensions are inserted, is folded to, on the one hand, reinforce that the extensions do not come out of their position and, on the other hand, provide an aesthetic appearance to the display unit, where openings are not visible.
[0026] In addition, the display unit also comprises vertical openings (11), located in the inner lateral walls (12), and mounting brackets (8), located between the bottom of the display unit, between the inner lateral walls (12) and the rear wall (1), both elements intended to support the shelves (4).
[0027] Thus, on the one hand, the inner lateral walls (12) incorporate T-shaped openings (10) intended to accommodate the ends of the crossbars (3). The characteristic shape of these T-shaped openings (10) is due to the fact that the crossbars (3) are made of a double cardboard sheet, joined longitudinally, in which the ends are not joined, each of them forming a pair of flaps (16). To be inserted into the T-shaped openings (10), the flaps (16) at each end of the crossbar (3) are bent perpendicularly, towards opposite sides to be aligned, to be inserted through the respective wings of the T-shaped opening (10), while the body of the crossbar (3) is inserted into the stem of the T-shaped opening (10). This crossbar (3) configuration in the shape of a double T and the way same is assembled on the lateral wall (2) provides greater stability and load capacity to the crossbar (3) than in the case of having a single flap (16), being configured in the shape of a C.
[0028] Moreover, the display unit also comprises mounting brackets (8) to support the shelves (4). These mounting brackets (8) are located in the corners between the rear wall (1) and the lateral walls (2). In addition, the mounting brackets (8) are also joined to a reinforcement (9), so that it forms all the mounting brackets (8) as a single piece, endowing same with sturdiness.
[0029] The crossbars (3) have a dimension such that, when they are inserted into the T-shaped openings (10), they are positioned at the same height as the mounting brackets (8), forming a flat surface, so that the shelves (4) are supported on the crossbars (3) and on the mounting brackets (8) without play.
[0030] Both the lateral walls (2) and the rear wall (1) also include a bending line (14) so that, once folded, the display unit does not take up too much space and, instead of requiring a box with the height of the display, its size can be reduced to take up less storage space.
[0031] In this way, when a user purchases the display unit of the invention, the display unit is folded by the walls (1, 2) with the front faces (5) of the shelves (4) already attached to the lateral walls (2) and the crossbars (3) already attached to the lateral walls (2).
[0032] To assemble the display unit, the user will only have to unfold the display along the walls (1, 2) to place it in an upright position, and unfold same to configure a parallelepiped shape, with the rear wall (1) perpendicular to the lateral walls (2). The front faces (5) of the shelves (4) are attached to the lateral walls (2), leaving the shelves (4) hanging, so they will only have to be folded to position them on the crossbars (3) and the mounting brackets (8).
[0033] Since the depth of the display unit has a dimension greater than the separation between the shelves (4), the shelves (4), with the exception of the one located at the top, which is completely visible, have a fold line so that they can be inserted between the lateral walls (2) without interfering with the upper shelf (4).
[0034] The display unit incorporates the shelves (4) already inserted into the vertical openings (11) by the front faces (5), as well as the crossbars (3) are also attached in the T-shaped openings (10) of the lateral walls (2).
[0035] In this way, starting from the display unit folded flat, normally inserted into a box, same is extracted from the box and unfolded in half, to have the full height of the display unit, leaving the rear wall (1) as a continuation of one of the lateral walls (2) and the other lateral wall (2) folded on top. The crossbars (3) are folded between the lateral walls (2) and the front face (5) of the shelves (4) is in the same shape as the rear wall (1), folded over one of the lateral walls (2) and as a continuation of the other. The support face (7) of the shelves (4) hangs externally to the walls (1, 2) of the display unit.
[0036] Once the display is upright, the walls (1, 2) are unfolded to form a parallelepiped, the rear wall (1) being perpendicular to the lateral walls (2).
[0037] Subsequently, it is only required to fold the shelves (4) to insert same between the lateral walls (2) of the display unit and place the support faces (7) on the crossbars (3) and on the mounting brackets (8).
[0038] To dismantle the display unit and fold same, it is required to proceed in a reverse manner to the assembly: folding the shelves (4) to extract same from between the lateral walls (2), folding the lateral walls (2) to leave them parallel to the rear wall (1) and folding the display unit along the walls (1, 2) to finish by inserting same into a box.
