[0005] An oven-type cooking device comprises at least one inner compartment for placing the items to be cooked; at least one door providing access into the inner compartment; and at least one heating element for heating the inner compartment. Depending on the location of the cooking device and the needs of the user, the heating element may be in the form of a resistance-type heater or a gas heater. While a gas heater (such as a burner) can be positioned only at a bottom part of the inner compartment, a resistance-type heater can be positioned both at the bottom part and the upper part of the inner compartment. In this way, the items located in the inner compartment can be heated both from the top and the bottom by means of the resistance-type heaters.
