Description

[0001] This disclosure relates to a portal structure. Technical field

[0002] The present disclosure relates to the field of closing devices intended more particularly for use outdoors to enable a passage in a fence, a wall, etc. to be opened and closed. It concerns both a sliding gate and a swing gate. A gate according to the present disclosure is advantageously made of metal but it could also be made of a synthetic material. Prior art

[0003] It is known to make a gate by assembling various elements that make up the gate. In the case of a metal construction, it is common to assemble the components by welding. In the case of gates made of synthetic material, it is known to assemble profiles whose profile is adapted

[0004] The gates thus produced take a long time to manufacture due to the numerous welding operations or the cutting of profiles and their assembly. In addition, the resulting gate is most often impossible to dismantle. Summary

[0005] This disclosure improves the situation. Its purpose is to provide a gate structure that is easy and quick to assemble. Preferably, the gate can be dismantled to facilitate maintenance / repair operations.

[0006] A portal is proposed comprising: a first cross member, a second cross member, and at least two connecting bars each extending from the first cross member to the second cross member and having a first end and a second end.

[0007] According to the present disclosure, the two crosspieces and said connecting bars are tubular parts, the first end of each of said connecting bars is housed inside the first crosspiece which has an opening adapted to allow the introduction of said first end inside the first crosspiece, the second end of each of said connecting bars is housed inside the second crosspiece which has an opening adapted to allow the introduction of said second end inside the second crosspiece, and a screw passes through each time the first crosspiece, a connecting bar and the second crosspiece, a screw head coming to bear on an external wall of the first crosspiece while a nut cooperating with the screw comes to bear on an external wall of the second crosspiece.

[0008] The features set out in the following paragraphs may, optionally, be implemented, independently of each other or in combination with each other: each crosspiece has a rectangular section with two short sides and two long sides; in this variant, it is also possible to provide that said connecting bars pass through one face of the first crosspiece and one face of the second crosspiece, each corresponding to a short side and / or that each crosspiece has, on one face corresponding to a short side, openings whose contour is adapted to the section of the connecting bars and on its opposite face, also corresponding to a short side, holes adapted for the passage of the screw and arranged each time opposite an opening, the surface area of a hole being less than the surface area of the opening opposite; said connecting bars are tubes of circular section; at least one screw comprises an at least partially threaded rod, a screw head and between the head and the rod an area of non-circular section, for example square; the nut is a nut for a lug wrench;the ends of the sleepers are closed each time by a cap; the sleepers and the connecting bars are made of galvanized steel. Brief description of the drawings

[0009] Other features, details and advantages will become apparent upon reading the detailed description below, and upon analyzing the attached drawings, in which: Fig. 1 [ Fig. 1 ] shows a portal in front view according to one embodiment. Fig. 2 [ Fig. 2 ] shows the portal of the figure 1 , without caps, side view. Fig. 3 [ Fig. 3 ] shows a sectional view along section line III-III of the figure 1 . Description of the embodiments

[0010] Reference is now made to the figure 1 which represents an embodiment of a portal according to the present disclosure.

[0011] The gate illustrated in the drawing comprises an upper crosspiece 2, a lower crosspiece 4 and connecting bars 6 connecting the upper crosspiece 2 and the lower crosspiece 4 to each other. These three elements are assembled by bolting and we see on the figure 1 for each connecting bar 6 a screw 8 of which we recognize a screw head 82 and a screw rod end 84. A nut 10 cooperates with the screw 8. We also note at each end of the two crosspieces the presence of a cap 12.

[0012] It is proposed here to orient the gate as in its normal operating position. The crosspieces then extend horizontally and the connecting bars vertically. An up / down orientation is thus used in the remainder of this description, corresponding to the names upper crosspiece for the crosspiece with reference 2 and lower crosspiece for the crosspiece with reference 4.

[0013] The shapes illustrated in the drawing are basic shapes to explain a gate structure according to the present disclosure. However, those skilled in the art will know how to adapt these shapes to give them an aesthetic effect which is important in the manufacture of a gate. For example, profiled shapes are described for the crosspieces but curved shapes could also be used, in particular for the upper crosspiece. The sections of each tube can vary depending on a desired aesthetic effect.

[0014] It is proposed here to have an upper crosspiece 2 and a lower crosspiece 4 each made from the same rectangular section profile ( figures 2 And 3 ). There figure 2is a side view (without the plugs 12) which shows the shape of the profile used here. It is a rectangular section profile. With the proposed orientation, the short sides of the crosspieces correspond to the thickness of the gate and are horizontal while the long sides extend in the direction of the height of the gate and are in a vertical plane. It is assumed that the crosspieces each have a rectilinear shape thus defining for each a horizontal longitudinal axis.

[0015] The connecting bars 6 extend vertically. They are circular tubular bars. They each have a vertical longitudinal axis.

[0016] The connecting bars 6, the upper crosspiece 2 and the lower crosspiece 4 are for example made of galvanized steel. However, other materials, metallic (aluminium-based alloy for example) or not (synthetic material such as PVC for example) could be used.

[0017] The connecting bars 6 each have an upper end and a lower end. Each upper end of a connecting bar 6 is embedded in the upper crossbar 2 and each lower end of a connecting bar 6 is embedded in the lower crossbar 4. For this purpose, the lower wall (therefore corresponding to a short side) of the upper crossbar 2 and the upper wall of the lower crossbar 4 are each provided with openings 14 of a diameter adapted to the external diameter of the connecting bars 6 (which are assumed here to be all similar: however, here too, for aesthetic effects, it would be possible to have non-circular bars, of different sections and / or diameters). The ends of the connecting bars 6 are each introduced through an opening 14 until the introduced end abuts against the wall of the crossbar opposite the wall in which the relevant opening is made. The openings 14 are, for example, made in such a way that the horizontal longitudinal axes of the crosspieces and the vertical longitudinal axes of the connecting bars 6 are all in the same (vertical) plane. The connecting bars 6 are, for example, arranged between the crosspieces with a regular pitch.

[0018] To hold the connecting bars 6, the upper crosspiece 2 and the lower crosspiece 4, the assembly is bolted. For this purpose, screws 8 and nuts 10 are used. Each screw 8 passes through the upper crosspiece 2, a connecting bar 6 and the lower crosspiece 4. For this purpose, a hole 16 is provided for each screw 8 in the upper wall of the upper crosspiece 2 and a hole 18 in the lower wall of the lower crosspiece 4. Here, a square hole 16 and a round hole 18 are provided. Note that the surface area of the holes (16 or 18) is smaller than that of the openings 14: this allows the ends of the connecting bars 6 to come into contact with the crosspieces.

[0019] Indeed, it is advantageously provided that each screw 8 between its screw head 82 and its rod 84 has a zone 86 with a non-circular section, square in the embodiment example proposed here. Each upper hole 16 is of a size adapted to each zone 86 of a screw 8. At the lower level, the hole 18 allows the passage of the screw rod 84. The screw rod 84 is threaded to receive a nut 10. Those skilled in the art will note that the screw rod 84 does not require a thread over its entire length. The threaded part of the screw rod 84 then cooperates with the nut 10 so that the latter can come to bear on the lower face of the lower crosspiece 4. The nut 10 is for example a nut for a lug wrench. It is possible to obtain good tightening and a special tool is necessary for disassembly (which limits the risks of a third party coming to loosen a nut).

[0020] After assembly, the portion of the screw rod that protrudes from the nut can be cut off. Plugs 12 can also be fitted. These are, for example, plugs made of synthetic material. These plugs 12 have, for example, a mushroom shape with a foot of a shape and dimensions adapted to fit with at least a slight tightening in one end of a crosspiece and a head sized to cover the entire crosspiece section.

[0021] The plan here is to mount all the connecting bars in the same way. It is possible to mount only some connecting bars in this way to ensure mechanical rigidity of the gate and to attach other bars with an aesthetic function in a different way. However, for the rigidity of the gate, it is preferable to have all the bars embedded at each end in the two crosspieces. Industrial application

[0022] These technical solutions can be applied in particular to the manufacture of a gate. This structure allows for rapid assembly while providing great rigidity to the gate.

[0023] Parts can be treated before assembly. In addition, the gate can be assembled on site. This makes transportation much easier and limits the handling of large parts.

[0024] This disclosure is not limited to the embodiment described and the variants mentioned above, solely by way of example, but it encompasses all the variants that a person skilled in the art may envisage within the framework of the protection sought.
