Description

[0001] The invention relates to an electromotive furniture drive for adjusting support parts of a support device that can be pivoted relative to one another for supporting the upholstery of a piece of seating and / or reclining furniture, in particular a mattress of a box-spring bed.

[0002] DE 10 2016 116 256 A1 discloses an electromotive furniture drive designed as a dual drive, which serves to adjust support parts of a support device for supporting a mattress of a box spring bed, which support parts can be pivoted relative to one another. The furniture drive known from the document has a base body with a longitudinal cross member which, in the assembled position of the furniture drive, is supported on cross members arranged at the ends of a substructure of the support device, for example a bed frame or bed base. Two pivotally mounted pivot levers are arranged at a distance from one another on the longitudinal cross member, each of which is operatively connected to an electromotive drive unit. The drive units are accommodated in a common drive housing arranged between the pivot levers and fastened to the longitudinal cross member.

[0003] The well-known double drive forms a pre-assembled structural and functional unit, making installation on a support device particularly simple and time-saving.

[0004] The invention is based on the object of providing an advantageous variant of the known furniture drive.

[0005] This object is achieved by the invention defined in claim 1.

[0006] The invention is based on the finding that the known furniture drive is mechanically simple, advantageous and robust and, due to its design as a structural and functional unit, is characterized in particular by particularly simple assembly on the support device, but has a considerable length in the longitudinal direction of the support device.

[0007] Based on this, the invention is based on the idea of redesigning the known furniture drive so that it can be packed in more compact and shorter packages and can thus be transported and shipped more easily.

[0008] To this end, the invention provides an electromotive furniture drive for adjusting support parts of a support device that are pivotally adjustable relative to one another for supporting the upholstery of a piece of seating and / or reclining furniture, in particular a mattress of a box spring bed. The drive comprises a housing in which a single electromotive drive unit is accommodated, which has a single output member. A pivot lever is pivotably mounted on the housing and is operatively connected to the output member for pivoting the pivot lever relative to the base body. The housing has, on its side facing upwards in the mounted position of the furniture drive on a support device, a first fastening section for fastening the housing to a stationary part of the support device.Furthermore, the housing has, at its end facing away from the first fastening section, an angle with a support surface for resting on a crossbeam of the support device and a leg which, in the assembly position of the furniture drive, projects downwards and protrudes beyond the underside of the housing, which forms a second fastening section for fastening the housing to the crossbeam of the support device and has a fastening surface for bearing against the crossbeam of the support device.

[0009] Due to the design according to the invention, it is particularly possible to replace the known double drive by two furniture drives according to the invention designed as individual drives, which are designed and configured for mounting on the support device in a mounting position in which the ends of the housings having the pivoting levers point away from each other.

[0010] The furniture drives according to the invention, designed as individual drives, have a length that is significantly shorter than the length of the known double drive. This allows the furniture drives to be packaged and transported in significantly shorter packages than the known double drive.

[0011] To construct a double drive, two furniture drives according to the invention are mounted on the support device in an assembly position in which the ends of the housings containing the pivot levers point away from each other. Each of the furniture drives is fastened, preferably by screwing, to a stationary support part of the support device by means of the first fastening section and to a cross member of the support device or a base frame of the support device, for example, a bed frame, by means of the second fastening section. In this way, the design according to the invention enables simple and rapid installation of a double drive on a support device.

[0012] An advantageous development of the invention provides for the housing to be made of plastic. This makes the furniture drive according to the invention particularly simple and cost-effective to manufacture.

[0013] In principle, the angle provided according to the invention can be designed as a separate component connected to the housing. To further simplify the structure of the furniture drive according to the invention, an advantageous development of the invention provides for the angle to be molded onto the housing in such a way that the angle is formed integrally with the housing. This embodiment is particularly advantageous when the housing is made of plastic.

[0014] In the sense of a simple construction, another advantageous development of the invention provides that the housing has two half-shells that can be connected to one another, in particular by screws.

[0015] The fastening of the furniture drive according to the invention to a stationary part of the support device or a crossbeam of the support device by means of the first fastening section or the second fastening section can be carried out in different ways according to the invention. To make the fastening particularly simple and time-saving, an advantageous development of the invention provides that the first fastening section and / or the second fastening section are designed and configured for screw fastening to the stationary part or the crossbeam of the support device.

[0016] In order to further simplify the structure, a further development of the aforementioned embodiment provides that the first fastening section and / or the second fastening section have / have fastening tabs formed on the housing.

[0017] An electromotive double drive according to the invention for adjusting support parts of a support device that are pivotally adjustable relative to one another for supporting the upholstery of a piece of seating and / or reclining furniture, in particular a mattress of a box spring bed, is specified in claim 7. The double drive according to the invention has two furniture drives, in particular furniture drives according to the invention, each of which has a housing and a pivot lever pivotably mounted on the housing in the region of one end of the housing, wherein the furniture drives are designed and configured for mounting on the support device in a mounting position in which the ends of the furniture drives that have the pivot levers point away from one another.

[0018] An advantageous development of the aforementioned embodiment provides that the furniture drives are designed as identical parts. In this way, the structure of a dual drive according to the invention is further simplified. A design as identical parts refers to the furniture drives including pivot levers and does not exclude the pivot levers of a dual drive according to the invention from having different means at their ends for interacting with a support part of the support device. If the support part to be adjusted is a back support part, the associated pivot lever can in particular carry a roller or a pair of rollers at its end, with which it loosely loads the back support part on its rear side facing away from the upholstery. If, however, a leg support part is to be adjusted together with a calf support part, the associated pivot lever can have a fastening means at its end for attachment to the underside of the calf support part facing away from the padding. When the pivot lever is pivoted, the calf support part is adjusted together with a leg support part, which is connected to the calf support part on the one hand so that it can pivot about a horizontal pivot axis and, on the other hand, is connected to a stationary support part, for example, the buttock support part, of the support device on the other hand so that it can pivot about a horizontal pivot axis.

[0019] An electromotively adjustable support device according to the invention for supporting the upholstery of a piece of seating and / or reclining furniture, in particular a mattress of a box spring bed, with support parts that can be pivoted relative to one another for supporting the upholstery, is specified in claim 9 and has at least one furniture drive according to one of claims 1 to 6 or a double drive according to claim 7 or 8.

[0020] A piece of seating and / or reclining furniture according to the invention, in particular a box spring bed, is specified in claim 10 and has an electromotively adjustable support device according to claim 10.

[0023] The following is based on reference to Fig. 1 bis Fig. 9 an embodiment of a support device according to the invention with an embodiment of a double drive according to the invention is explained in more detail.

[0024] Fig. 1 bis Fig. 4 show the support device or the double drive in a starting position of the adjustment movement, which corresponds to a lying position, while Fig. 5 bis Fig. 9 show the support device or the double drive in an end position of the adjustment movement, which corresponds to a sitting position.

[0025] In some figures, individual components have been omitted to illustrate and clarify the structure and function of the support device or the dual drive. The omitted components should be added to the relevant figures in a conceptual manner.

[0026] In Fig. 1 An embodiment of a support device 2 according to the invention is shown, which has a frame-like substructure 4 and serves to support a box spring mattress. To simplify the illustration and for illustrative purposes, the box spring mattress is not shown in the drawing. However, the structure of a corresponding box spring mattress is generally known to those skilled in the art and will therefore not be explained in detail here.

[0027] The support device 2 has a stationary buttock support part 6, to which a back support part 8 is connected so as to be pivotable about a horizontal pivot axis. A leg support part 10 is connected to the end of the buttock support part 6 facing away from the back support part 8, and a calf support part 12 is pivotably connected to the end of the leg support part 10 facing away from the buttock support part 6. Adjacent support parts 6-12 are each connected to one another by hinges, of which only two hinges are designated by reference numerals 11, 13 in the drawing (see FIG. Fig. 1 ).

[0028] The basic structure of a corresponding support device is generally known to the person skilled in the art and is therefore explained in more detail here only to the extent necessary for understanding the invention.

[0029] For adjusting the support parts 6 - 12 relative to each other, an embodiment of an electromotive double drive 14 according to the invention is provided, wherein in Fig. 2 The mounting position of the double drive 14 on the support device is visible. The double drive 14 is supported on crossbeams 16, 18 of the substructure 4, which are spaced apart from each other in the longitudinal direction of the support device 2.

[0030] According to the invention, the double drive 14 is constructed from two furniture drives 20, 22 designed as individual drives, which in the illustrated embodiment are designed as identical parts.

[0031] The furniture drive 20 is explained in more detail below. Due to the use of identical parts, the furniture drive 22 is constructed accordingly and is therefore not explained in more detail here. Where necessary for reference in the following description or the patent claims, the components of the furniture drive 22 are designated accordingly to the components of the furniture drive 20.

[0032] The furniture drive 20 has a housing 24 which, in the illustrated embodiment, consists of two half-shells 26, 28 (cf. Fig. 3 ) is made of plastic.

[0033] A pivot lever 30 is mounted on the housing 24 and pivots about a pivot axis 32. In the illustrated embodiment, this lever serves to adjust the back support part 8 in the assembled position of the double drive 14. A single electric motor drive unit 34 is accommodated in the housing 24 (see Fig. 4 ), which in this embodiment has a spindle drive 36. The output member of the spindle drive 36 is formed by a threaded spindle 38 which is mounted non-rotatably and movably in its axial direction, on which a spindle nut 40 is arranged, the radial outer surface of which is designed as a worm wheel which engages with a worm which is formed on the output shaft of an electric motor 42 of the drive unit 34.

[0034] The threaded spindle 38 carries at its end facing the pivot lever 30 a tension piece 44, to which one end of a tab 46 is articulated, the other end of which is hook-shaped and is connected to the pivot lever 30 via a pin 48 in an articulated manner and eccentrically to the pivot axis 42.

[0035] To adjust the back support part 8 from the Fig. 1 shown starting position of the adjustment movement into the Fig. 5 In the end position of the adjustment movement shown, the electric motor 42 drives the spindle nut 40 in such a way that the threaded spindle 38 is in Fig. 4 to the right. The tension member 44 pulls eccentrically to the pivot axis 32 on the pivot lever 30, so that the pivot lever 30 rotates around the pivot axis 32 in Fig. 4 rotated clockwise.

[0036] The provision from the Fig. 5 shown end position to the one shown in Fig. 1 The starting position of the adjustment movement shown takes place when the drive unit 34 is switched on, but under the weight of the back support part 8 and, if applicable, the weight of a person resting on the support device 2.

[0037] For example, Fig. 6 As can be seen, the pivot lever 30 carries a pair of rollers 50 at its end facing away from the pivot axis 32, with which it loosely acts on the rear side of the back support part 8.

[0038] The pivot lever 30' of the furniture drive 22 carries at its free end a fitting-like fastening means 52 for screw fastening to the underside of the calf support part 12 eccentrically to the pivot axis between the calf support part 12 and the leg support part 10. It is evident that upon corresponding actuation of the furniture drive 22, its pivot lever 30' is moved out of the Fig. 1 the initial position of the adjustment movement shown in the drawing is pivoted counterclockwise, whereby the calf support part 12 is pivoted together with the leg support part 10.

[0039] For the sake of simplicity, the power supply and control means for supplying power to and controlling the furniture drives 20, 22 of the dual drive 14 are not shown in the drawing. The design of the corresponding power supply and control means is generally known to those skilled in the art and will therefore not be explained in detail here.

[0040] The housing 24 has, in the region of its end facing away from the pivot lever 30, on its side facing upwards in the assembly position of the furniture drive 20, a first fastening section 54 (cf. Fig. 3 ) for fastening the furniture drive 20 to the underside of the stationary seat support part 6. In the illustrated embodiment, the first fastening section 54 has fastening tabs 56, 58 formed on the housing 24, by means of which the furniture drive 20 can be screwed to the underside of the seat support part 6.

[0041] According to the invention, the housing 20 has, at its end facing away from the first fastening section 54, an angle 60 with a support surface 62 for resting on the cross member 16 of the support device 2 and a leg 64 which projects downwards in the assembly position of the furniture drive 20 and protrudes beyond the underside of the housing 24, which forms a second fastening section 66 for fastening the housing 24 to the cross member 16 of the support device 2 and has a fastening surface 68 for bearing against the cross member 16 of the support device 2.

[0042] As is particularly evident from Fig. 2 As can be seen, due to this design of the housing 20 with molded leg 64, the furniture drive 20 overlaps the cross member 16 with its housing 24 in the assembly position.

[0043] As from Fig. 9 As can be seen, the leg 64 has fastening tabs 70, 72 formed on the fastening surface 66, which serve for screw fastening of the leg 64 and thus of the housing 24 to the cross member 16.

[0044] To assemble the double drive 14, the furniture drive 20 with its angle bracket 60 is placed on the cross member 16 so that the support surface 62 rests on the upper side of the cross member 16 and the fastening surface 66 of the angle bracket 60 rests on the surface of the cross member 16 facing the head end of the support device 2. In this position, the furniture drive 20 is screwed to the cross member 16 using the fastening tabs 68, 70, on the one hand, and to the underside of the seat support part 6 using the fastening tabs 56, 58, on the other hand.

[0045] The furniture drive 22 is mounted in a similar manner. Furthermore, the fastening element 52 is screwed to the underside of the calf support part 12.

[0046] Out of Fig. 2 , which shows the mounting position of the furniture drives 20, 22 forming the double drive 14 on the support device 2, it can be seen that the furniture drives 20, 22 are designed and configured for mounting on the support device 2 in a mounting position in which the ends of the housings 24, 24' of the furniture drives 20, 22 having the pivot levers 30, 30' point away from each other.

[0047] Due to the fastening of the furniture drives 20, 22 on the one hand to the cross member 16 or cross member 18 and on the other hand to the seat support part, the reaction forces of the furniture drives 20, 22 occurring during adjustment are diverted on the one hand via the seat support part 6 and on the other hand via the cross member 16, 18 and the substructure 4 of the support device 2.

[0048] Due to the design according to the invention, the assembly of the double drive 14 according to the invention is also simple.

[0049] Since the furniture drives 20, 22 are significantly shorter compared to a double drive in which both drive units are accommodated in a common housing, the design according to the invention enables shorter and more compact packages, so that storage and shipping of a double drive 14 according to the invention are simplified and made more cost-effective.

[0050] In the illustrated embodiment, the furniture drives 20, 22 rest against each other with the ends of their housings 24, 24' facing away from the pivot levers 30, 30', but are not secured to each other. If desired or necessary according to the respective requirements and circumstances, the housings 24, 24' of the furniture drives 20, 22 can also be secured to each other in the assembly position.
