AI Technical Summary
Existing band parts of hinge systems face accuracy issues due to manufacturing tolerances leading to play between guides, causing misalignment of the hinge axis, particularly because the extensions are shorter than the guides, resulting in tilting during displacement.
The band part incorporates a guide element with counter-guide surfaces that can expand, compensating for manufacturing tolerances by increasing the distance between parallel surfaces, using expansion elements like pins or screws, and featuring trough-shaped guide elements with transverse intermediate walls and slots to facilitate precise positioning and adjustment.
This solution ensures precise and reproducible adjustability and reliable positioning of the band part on the fastening wall, compensating for play and maintaining alignment of the hinge axis, thereby enhancing the overall accuracy and reliability of the hinge system.

Abstract
Description
[0001] Band part of a hinge band
[0002] The invention relates to a hinge part of a hinge band which can be fastened to a fastening wall of a frame or a wing, wherein the hinge part comprises a mounting part which can be fixedly attached to the fastening band and an adjustment part which can be displaced relative to the mounting part in a displacement direction and can be fixed in a desired displacement position, wherein the mounting part comprises a device with which it engages in a straight guide of the adjustment part which comprises opposing, parallel guide surfaces.
[0003] Such a hinge part is known from EP 2 504 511 B1. In this hinge part, the device comprises two parallel extensions, each engaging a straight guide, which are shorter than the respective straight guide, thus allowing displacement of the adjustment part relative to the mounting part.
[0004] A disadvantage of this hinge part is that, due to possible manufacturing tolerances, a certain amount of play must always be taken into account between the straight guides and the extensions, which, however, has a negative impact on the adjustment accuracy of the hinge part. In particular, this play can lead to a tilting of the adjustment part with respect to the direction of displacement, which results in a misalignment of a hinge axis defined by the hinge part. The invention is therefore based on the object of creating an improved hinge part in this regard.
[0005] In the hinge part according to the invention, the device comprises a guide element comprising two counter-guide surfaces parallel to the parallel guide surfaces of the linear guide and thus parallel to each other, the distance between which can be increased at least in certain areas. This measure allows for the play that usually exists due to possible manufacturing tolerances regarding the assembly of the mounting part and the adjustment part to be compensated for by increasing the distance between two mutually parallel counter-guide surfaces when the respective guide element of the mounting part engages a straight guide of the adjustment part.
[0006] A particularly preferred development of the belt part according to the invention is one in which the counter-guide surfaces are formed by two mutually parallel longitudinal walls of the guide element. An increase in the distance between two mutually parallel counter-guide surfaces can then be achieved in a simple manner by increasing the distance between the two mutually parallel longitudinal walls.
[0007] The distance can be increased, for example, by means of at least one spreading element which can be placed between the longitudinal walls of the guide element.
[0008] In a preferred embodiment, the expansion element comprises an expansion pin or an expansion screw, wherein the expansion pin or the expansion screw can preferably be brought between the longitudinal walls via a bore in the mounting part.
[0009] In a particularly preferred embodiment of the hinge part according to the invention, the guide element is trough-shaped such that its open side faces the mounting wall. The bottom surface of the trough, or the surface connecting the two longitudinal walls, can then be formed by a surface of the mounting element, which preferably lies in the same plane as a contact surface of the mounting element on the adjustment element.
[0010] The guide element preferably further comprises at least one intermediate wall extending transversely to the longitudinal walls. To nevertheless enable an at least partial expansion of the spacing between the parallel longitudinal walls of the guide element, the at least one connecting wall preferably comprises a slot through which a plane extends parallel to the longitudinal walls.
[0011] The slot extends—particularly preferably—from one end of the partition wall facing the mounting wall to the end of the partition wall remote from the mounting wall, i.e., to the bottom surface of the tub. This measure allows the distance between the parallel longitudinal walls to be optimally expanded using the expansion element.
[0012] The hinge part can be mounted on the mounting wall of the frame or sash in a particularly simple and precisely positioned manner if—as is preferred—the mounting part comprises at least one positioning extension suitable for engaging a hole leading into the mounting wall. If the positioning extension is also designed like an expansion dowel, fastening the mounting part and thus the entire hinge part is generally already possible by expanding the positioning extension after insertion into the hole, thus creating a force-fitting and / or positive connection between the positioning extension and the frame or sash.
[0013] The invention also extends to a hinge band with a band part of the type described above.
[0014] The drawing schematically illustrates an embodiment of the hinge part according to the invention. It shows: Fig. 1 shows a system with this embodiment of the hinge part according to the invention in a longitudinal view of a hollow profile with a partially cut hinge part;

[0018] Fig. 5 the same band part in a perspective exploded view according to Fig. 4 from above;
[0019] Fig. 6 the same band part in a plan view in the assembled state and
[0020] Fig. 7 shows the same joined band part in a view according to Fig. 6.
[0021] The embodiment of a hinge part 1 according to the invention shown in the drawing comprises an adjusting part 2, to which a hinge part 3 is integrally formed, which comprises a receptacle 4 for a known adjusting bushing of a hinge pin (not shown in the drawing). Two straight guides 5 in the form of elongated hole-shaped openings 6 are provided in the adjusting part 2, running parallel to one another and perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the receptacle 4. A driver element 7 is located in the center between the elongated hole-shaped openings 6. It is bolt-shaped and sits in a bore 8 of the adjusting part 2. It has a threaded bore 9 running transversely to its longitudinal extent, into which an adjusting spindle 10 adapted to it engages. The hinge part 1 is part of a system 100.
[0022] The adjusting spindle 10 is mounted in a mounting part 11 of the band part 1 so as to be rotatable about its longitudinal axis and is fixed in the direction of its longitudinal axis such that its longitudinal axis is aligned parallel to parallel guide surfaces 29 formed by longitudinal surfaces 26 of the straight guides 5. For this purpose, the adjusting spindle 10 is arranged in a spindle holder 12 and has a cylindrical spindle head 13, which is supported in the longitudinal direction of the spindle on opposing support surfaces 14, 15 of the spindle holder 12.
[0023] The mounting part 11 further comprises guide elements 16 that extend through the openings 6 over part of the length of the straight guides 5. This allows the assembly comprising the adjustment part 2 and the hinge part 3 to be displaced in a displacement direction V that runs parallel to the longitudinal extensions of the straight guides 5.
[0024] The guide elements 16 are trough-shaped in such a way that, in the assembled state, their open side faces a fastening wall 17 of a hollow profile 18, which can be part of a wing F or a frame R.
[0025] The guide elements 16 are formed on a rear side 19 of the mounting part 11, which faces a front side 20 of the adjustment part 2 and rests against the fastening wall 17 of the hollow profile 18 when mounted thereon.
[0026] The guide elements 16 each have two mutually parallel longitudinal walls 24, the mutually facing sides of which form counter-guide surfaces 30 which run parallel to the guide surfaces 29 of the adjustment part 2.
[0027] Furthermore, positioning extensions 21 are provided on the mounting part 11. At each longitudinal end of a guide element 16, a positioning extension 21 is formed such that it is part of the guide element 16. Each positioning extension 21 has a length L which is adapted to the hollow profile 18 such that the respective positioning extension only engages the fastening wall 17 in a perforation
[0028] 22, but not an inner wall 17a of the hollow profile 18.
[0029] The positioning extensions 21 are tubular and have longitudinal slots
[0030] 23, two of which are arranged in such a way that they are penetrated by a plane E running parallel to the longitudinal walls 24 of the guide elements 16. The positioning extensions 21 thus form intermediate walls 31 which extend in a curve between the longitudinal walls 24. Due to the slots 23 which are penetrated by the planes E, the longitudinal walls 24 can be expanded, for example with an expansion screw 25 which is screwed into a positioning extension 21, so that by inserting the expansion screws 25 the distance A between the two counter-guide surfaces 30 of a guide element 16 can be extended at least in some areas. Due to this measure, any play existing between the guide surfaces 29 of a straight guide 5 and the counter-guide surfaces 30 of a guide element 16 engaging in this straight guide is compensated for at least in some areas with the help of an expansion screw 25.
[0031] For this purpose, at least the slots 23, which are penetrated by the plane E, extend at least to the vicinity of a connecting wall 32 connecting the longitudinal walls 24, which coincides with the rear side 19 of the mounting part 11.
[0032] Since the slots 23, through which the plane E passes, also extend to the ends of the positioning extensions 21 remote from the rear side 19 of the mounting part 11, screwing in the expansion screws 25 not only causes an at least partial widening of the distance A between two mutually parallel counter-guide surfaces 30, but also a spreading of the positioning extensions, so that the band part is positioned on the fastening wall 17 by screwing in the expansion screws.
[0033] The hinge part 1 and thus a hinge part 3, which comprises this hinge part 1, is characterized both by a particularly precise and reproducible adjustability in the adjustment direction V, as well as by an easily accomplished and reliable positioning of the hinge part on the fastening wall.
[0034] In the embodiment of the hinge part 1 according to the invention shown in the drawing, additional bores 27 are provided in the mounting part 11. They extend through each of the guide elements 16 in tubular extensions 28 within the respective guide element 16. The extensions 28 also have slots through which one of the planes E passes. This ensures that the longitudinal walls 24 of a guide element 16 can spread out in the direction of the longitudinal surfaces 26, even in the region of the extensions 28, so that the longitudinal sides 24 can be pressed against the longitudinal surfaces 26 of the openings 6 under the action of the expansion screws 25, even in the region of the extensions 28.The additional holes provide the possibility of screwing additional fastening screws, not shown in the drawing, into the fastening wall 17 of the hollow profile 18, if necessary to achieve the required holding forces on the profile in individual cases.
