[0002] OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
[0003] The object of the present invention falls within the technical field of pallets.
[0004] More specifically, a storage pallet capable of safely storing or transporting boxes (for example and without limitation, conventional fruit and vegetable boxes) is proposed, without it being necessary to modify said boxes or fit them with additional elements.
[0005] Moreover, the pallets according to the present invention can be grouped with other pallets of the same type forming vertical columns, both when they are empty and when they are in use (i.e., when they are loaded with boxes). In other words and according to the terminology used in the context of the present description, which will be explained in more detail later, said pallets according to the invention are simultaneously stackable and nestable.
[0006] TECHNICAL PROBLEM TO BE RESOLVED AND BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0007] The use of pallets to store and / or transport boxes is widely known in the state of the art. In general, said pallets comprise feet or skids on which they rest and a base that is intended to receive the load to be stored and / or transported.
[0008] Most of the pallets currently used are stackable. In other words, they can be grouped in vertical columns when they are not supporting loads. However, these pallets are not usually nestable (i.e., able to be grouped in vertical columns when loaded with boxes), since placing the corresponding load on the base makes it significantly difficult for a pallet arranged on top of said load to be supported correctly and prevents, in practice, the correct formation of the columns.
[0009] Thus, for example, in the state of the art document US2002017225A1 is known, which describes a pallet comprising a base and feet. The top part of the feet presents an inverted cone-shaped hollow protuberance that provides a strong and stable support to the boxes arranged on the pallet. The bottom part of the feet has an inlet, arranged vertically below and following the inverted cone-shaped protuberance, so that the inverted cone-shaped protuberance of a bottom pallet fits through said inlet in the stacked arrangement of the pallets when they are not in use.
[0010] One of the few pallets for boxes of the state of the art that are simultaneously stackable and nestable are those described in document FR3016866A1 , which are used in combination with special boxes, provided with a rectangular lid fitted with four ribs in the shape of bracket and which are located on the periphery of each of the comers of said lid.
[0011] The pallets of document FR3016866A1 comprise solid feet, provided with inlets intended to fit, when in use, into one of the ribs on the lid of one of the boxes arranged on a bottom pallet. In this way, it is possible to nest the loaded pallets as long as the special boxes described above are used.
[0012] Moreover, said pallets according to FR3016866A1 comprise four ribs very similar to those provided on the lids of the boxes, since they have substantially identical dimensions, they also have a bracket shape and they are likewise arranged on the periphery of each of the comers of the base. Said ribs provided on the pallets allow them to be stacked, when not in use, since each of said ribs can fit into one of the inlets provided on the foot of a pallet located above.
[0013] Moreover, the ribs provided on the pallets are also adapted to the comers of the box trays, so that each of said ribs on the pallet contributes to retaining the box that is arranged on the pallet and that is closer and in contact with the same.
[0014] Likewise, the pallets described in FR3016866A1 have the disadvantage of taking up a lot of space in their stacked configuration: in fact, this space is essentially equal to that occupied in the nested configuration when the pallets are loaded with boxes since, as previously seen, in the stacking the ribs provided on a pallet fit into the inlets provided in the feet of the pallet located immediately above it.
[0015] Furthermore, in a technical field further removed from the field to which the present invention belongs, the pallets disclosed by document US4263855A are known, which are expressly designed to be loaded with barrels. Said pallets comprise a base and feet. Moreover, the top part of the pallet base is provided with curved recesses in the form of a channel, coinciding with the geometry of the barrels, which allow them to be properly placed on the pallet. The feet are hollow, allowing mutual stacking when not in use. Likewise, the bottom part of the feet is provided with grooved curved inlets intended, in theory, to fit into the top edges of the barrels loaded on a bottom pallet. However, the pallets disclosed in US4263855A would not be nestable in practice, since the only elements that would allow a loaded pallet to be supported on the barrels of the bottom pallet would be precisely said grooved inlets, which dimensions are very small compared to the total size of the pallet. Consequently, the contact surface between the top pallet and the barrels on the bottom pallet would be very small compared to the total size of the pallet, making the support unstable, especially in those cases where the pallets are loaded with heavy and / or tall barrels.
[0016] In view of all the foregoing, it would be desirable to develop a new pallet for boxes that simultaneously meets all of the following technical features:
[0017] - that it can be used with conventional boxes without needing to modify said boxes or fit them with additional elements;
[0018] - that it provides stable support for said boxes,
[0019] - that in addition to being stackable, it is also nestable, and
[0020] - that it occupies as little space as possible in its stacked configuration.
[0021] DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0022] The present invention aims to address the drawbacks of devices of the prior art and therefore meet all the specifications indicated in the previous paragraph.
[0023] To this end, the object of the present invention is a stackable and nestable pallet for boxes comprising:
[0024] - a base, provided with an upper side intended to support the boxes and an underside;
[0025] - first supporting feet, arranged at the comers of the base and extending perpendicular to said base; characterised in that:
[0026] - the upper side of the base is provided with grooves arranged in a longitudinal direction and grooves arranged in a transverse direction, each of said grooves (both longitudinal and transverse) being intended to accommodate, at least partially, an edge or projection of a box;
[0027] - each of the first supporting feet is fitted with a first portion provided with a hollow inner region and at least one lowered bottom corner, said lowered corner being intended to fit into the corner of a box located below the pallet, when the pallet is in a nested configuration; - the first portion of each of the first supporting feet is in turn attached to a first truncated pyramid, said first truncated pyramid being provided with a hollow inner part and a flat top surface, said flat top surface coinciding with the upper side of the base and being intended to act as an additional support for a box arranged on the upper side of said base; and in that
[0028] - the hollow inner region of the first portion of the first supporting foot is in contact with the hollow inner part of the first truncated pyramid, such that they define a first common hollow inner space configured to accommodate, at least partially, when the pallet is in a stacked condition, the first truncated pyramid of another pallet of the same type.
[0029] Due to the specific configuration described above, the pallet according to the present invention can be used with conventional boxes such as, for example, those usually used to transport fruit and vegetables, which are made of plastic and / or cardboard (among other materials) and which base usually has dimensions of 600x400 mm and 400x300 mm, without it being necessary to modify said boxes or fit them with additional elements.
[0030] Moreover, the longitudinal grooves, the transverse grooves and the flat top surface of the truncated pyramids provided in the pallets of the invention are three different stabilisation elements that work together, providing stable support for the boxes during storage and / or transport thereof.
[0031] Furthermore, the bottom comers with lowered edges, provided on the first supporting feet, are intended to fit into a box located below the pallet, thus allowing the pallet according to the present invention to be nestable. This is desirable, since it allows better use of the available space, both during transport and during storage. Said comers with lowered edges provided in the supporting legs of the pallets of the invention are particularly important, since most of the vertical load is transmitted to the nested boxes precisely through the comers.
[0032] The pallets according to the invention can also be supported directly on the ground or on conventional structures, such as pallet racks. In these cases, the pallet would rest directly on the unlowered portion of the supporting feet, which would be formed by the entire bottom surface of the supporting foot except, logically, the corner with lowered edges of the first portion of said supporting feet.
[0033] Finally, the common hollow inner space (formed by the combination of the hollow central region of the first portion and the hollow inner part of the truncated pyramid) of each of the first supporting feet, is sized to be able to accommodate therein at least one part of the first truncated pyramid of another pallet of the same type, which is located below, which allows the pallet according to the present invention to be stacked, furthermore occupying substantially less space than that used when in a nested configuration.
[0034] In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the pallet further comprises perimeter protrusions arranged on the longitudinal and / or transverse edges of the pallet. Said perimeter protrusions act as additional stabilisation elements for the boxes.

Moreover, the top flat portion of the second truncated pyramids provided therein improves the support of the boxes that are arranged on said pallet during storage and / or transport thereof. [0043] Preferably, the first truncated pyramids, the second truncated pyramids and / or the third truncated pyramids have a rectangular plan. The present invention further contemplates, however, the possibility that said plan has other different geometries, for example, square.

As shown in said figures, the pallet comprises a base (1 ), which, in this particular case, has a rectangular plan and is provided with an upper side (1a) intended to support the boxes (C) and an underside (1 b), from which the first supporting feet (3a), the second supporting feet (3b) and the third supporting foot (3c) emerge, which layout is as follows in this particular case:

A stackable and nestable pallet (100) for boxes (C) comprising:- a base (1 ), provided with an upper side (1a) intended to support the boxes (C) and an underside (1 b);- first supporting feet (3a), arranged at the corners of the base (1 ); characterised in that:- the upper side of the base is provided with grooves (2a) arranged in a longitudinal direction (L) and grooves (2b) arranged in a transverse direction (T), each of said grooves (2a, 2b) being intended to accommodate, at least partially, a projection (R) of a box (C);- each of the first supporting feet (3a) is fitted with a first portion (4a) provided with a hollow inner region (5a) and at least one lowered bottom corner (6a), and said lowered bottom corner (6a) being intended to fit into the corner of a box (C) located below the pallet, when the pallet is in a nested configuration;- the first portion (4a) of each of the first supporting feet (3a) is in turn attached to a first truncated pyramid (7a), said first truncated pyramid (7a) being provided with a hollow inner part (8a) and a flat top surface (9a), said flat top surface (9a) coinciding with the upper side (1a) of the base (1) and being intended to act as an additional support for a box (C) arranged on the upper side (1 a) of said base (1 ); and in that- the hollow inner region (5a) of the first portion (4a) is in contact with the hollow inner part (8a) of the first truncated pyramid (7a), such that they define a common hollow inner space (5a, 8a) configured to accommodate, at least partially, when the pallet is in a stacked condition, the first truncated pyramid (7a) of another pallet of the same type.
2. The pallet (100) according to any of the preceding claims, which is further provided with perimeter protrusions (12), arranged on the longitudinal and / or transverse edges of the pallet.

The pallet (100) according to any of the preceding claims, which is further provided with second supporting feet (3b), arranged on one of the longitudinal or transverse edges of the base (1 ) and extending perpendicular to said base (1), each of said second supporting feet (3b) being fitted with:- a second portion (4a), provided with a hollow inner region (5a) and at least one lowered straight bottom section (6b), said bottom section (6b) being intended to fit into an edge portion of a box (C ) located below the pallet, when the pallet is in a nested configuration; and- a second truncated pyramid (7b) attached to the second portion (4b), said second truncated pyramid (7b) being provided with a hollow inner part (8b) and a flat top portion (9b), said flat top portion (9b) protruding above the upper side (1a) of the base and being intended to fit into a box (C) supported by said base (1 ); wherein the hollow inner region (5b) of the second portion (4b) is in contact with the hollow inner part (8b) of the second truncated pyramid (7b), such that they define a second common hollow inner space (5b, 8b) configured to accommodate, at least partially, when the pallet is in a stacked condition, the second truncated pyramid (7b) of another pallet of the same type.

The pallet (100) according to any of the preceding claims, which is further provided with a third supporting foot (3c), arranged in a central region of the base (1 ), said third supporting foot (3c) extending perpendicular to said base (1 ) and being fitted with:- a third portion (4c), provided with a hollow inner region (5c) and at least one lowered H-shaped bottom section (6c), said bottom section (6c) being intended to fit into the edge portions of four boxes (C) located below the pallet, when the pallet is in a nested configuration; and- a pair of third truncated pyramids (7c) attached to the third portion (4c), each of said third truncated pyramids (7c) being provided with a hollow inner part (8c) and a flat top portion (9c), said flat top portion (9c) protruding above the upper side (1a) of the base (1 ) and being intended to fit into a box (C) supported by said base (1 ); wherein the hollow inner region (5c) of the third portion (4c) is in contact with the hollow inner part (8c) of the third truncated pyramids (7c), such that they define a third common hollow inner space (5c, 8c) configured to accommodate, at least partially, when the pallet is in a stacked condition, a pair of third truncated pyramids (7c) of another pallet of the same type.
5. The pallet (100) according to any of the preceding claims, wherein thelongitudinal grooves (2a) and the transverse grooves (2b) have a depth comprised between 2 and 10 mm.
6. The pallet (100) according to claim 5, wherein the longitudinal grooves (2a) and the transverse grooves (2b) are arranged such that they delimit a rectangular surface area comprised between 550 mm x 350 mm and 570 mm x 370 mm.

The pallet (100) according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the first supporting feet (3a) are further provided with a first supporting appendage (10a), adjacent to the first portion (4a), said first supporting appendage (10a) having a flat underside (11a), intended to allow the pallet to be supported.
8. The pallet (100) according to claim 3, wherein the second supporting feet (3b) are provided with a second supporting appendage (10b), adjacent to the second portion (4b), said second supporting appendage (10b) having a flat underside (11 b), intended to allow the pallet to be supported.
9. The pallet (100) according to claim 4, wherein the third supporting feet (3c) are provided with a third supporting appendage (10c), adjacent to the third portion (4c), said third supporting appendage (10c) having at least one flat underside (11c), intended to allow the pallet to be supported.
