Description

[0001] The present invention relates to a locking element for a repeating rifle and to a repeating rifle comprising the locking element according to the invention.

[0002] Locking elements, also known as bolt breechblocks, are well-known for repeating rifles in the prior art, for example from German patent application DE 10 2016 120 891 A1. The locking element described therein comprises an outer sleeve and a chamber contained within it, the chamber having a bolt head in the area facing the cartridge chamber. A control piece is mounted within the chamber so as to be axially displaceable relative to both the chamber and the bolt head. The known locking element further comprises a bolt lever connected to the control piece, such that the bolt head is unlocked during a backward movement of the bolt lever and locked during its continued movement. The bolt lever is pivotably mounted at the rear end of the sleeve and is pivotally mounted about an axis that is eccentric to the longitudinal axis of the chamber. The control piece is connected to the chamber lever via an intermediate piece, which projects radially outwards from the chamber. The bolt head is rotatably mounted in the chamber about its axis, with the bolt head being rotated by axially displacing the control piece.

[0003] The present invention relates to a system in which the locking element is operated via a locking handle, also referred to as a bolt handle. Depending on the embodiment, the locking handle can be located on the right side (for right-handed users) or on the left side (for left-handed users) of the locking element. The side of the locking handle generally also defines the ejection direction. In addition to the aforementioned bolt handle, which is used to perform the cycling action, a locking element typically comprises locking elements, the firing pin, the firing pin spring, and, at its rear, the bolt head.

[0004] Although such locking elements are widely known from the prior art, there is still room for improvement. The present invention therefore aims to provide a locking element that is improved compared to the prior art, in particular a locking element that allows the user to remove it more conveniently from the receiver of a repeating rifle. Description of the invention

[0005] According to the invention, the problem is solved by a closure element with the features of claim 1.

[0006] The breechblock, which is intended for a repeating rifle, comprises a bolt carrier having a hollow cylindrical element by means of which the bolt carrier can be inserted into a receiver of the repeating rifle, and a bolt carrier head (also referred to as a bolt lug) with a stop surface by means of which the bolt carrier contacts an end face of the receiver in the locked state of the breechblock; a bolt handle by means of which a bolt head of the breechblock provided with locking lugs can be unlocked, wherein the bolt head and the bolt handle are rotatably connected to a control piece arranged in the bolt carrier and capable of being pre-tensioned;and a locking lever by means of which a bolt can be actuated, which in the unlocked state of the locking element sits in a bore of the control piece, wherein the locking lever is pre-tensioned and comprises a distal end area having an actuating surface, which sits in a recess arranged on the outside of the locking carrier head.

[0007] The locking lever serves to initiate the rotation of the bolt head and to remove the bolt assembly from the system by unlocking its bolt head through actuation. This rotates the bolt head by a specific angle, for example, 60°, so that the locking lugs can pass the trigger lug of the repeating rifle during complete removal. Because the locking lever now has an actuating surface located directly in the bolt carrier head or the bolt body, preferably on the side opposite the bolt handle, especially the bolt grip, this locking lever can be operated particularly easily with the thumb of the hand opening the bolt (right hand in the case of a right-handed bolt).

[0008] Further advantageous embodiments of the invention are specified in the dependent claims. The features listed individually in the dependent claims can be combined in a technologically meaningful manner and can define further embodiments of the invention. Furthermore, the features specified in the claims are specified and explained in more detail in the description, which also presents further preferred embodiments of the invention.

[0009] According to an advantageous embodiment, the recess is groove-shaped and extends axially to a through-bore located in the hollow cylindrical element of the locking carrier, the through-bore being aligned with the bore of the control piece in the unlocked state. The groove-shaped recess is thus located on the outside of the locking carrier, preferably on the side opposite the locking handle, and extends axially from the through-bore located in the hollow cylindrical element of the locking carrier into the locking carrier head or the lock cylinder.

[0010] The locking lever preferably has a lug at its second end, axially opposite the distal end, which engages in an annular groove of the bolt. The locking lever thus has a first end with an ergonomically optimized actuation surface for the shooter. This surface is located on the bolt carrier head and is particularly easy to operate with the thumb of the hand opening the bolt. The axially opposite distal end of the locking lever is in direct contact with the bolt via the lug. Depending on the state of the bolt assembly (locked or unlocked), the bolt penetrates the through-hole of the hollow cylindrical element of the bolt carrier and rests either on the outer surface of the control piece (locked state) or in the bore of the control piece (unlocked state).

[0011] Advantageously, the groove-shaped recess has a bottom that is at a uniform level.

[0012] According to an advantageous embodiment, the locking handle comprises a lever element that is rotatably connected to the locking carrier head. For this purpose, the lever element has a bore that aligns with another bore located in the locking carrier head. A pin then establishes a rotating connection between the two components. In this context, it is particularly preferred that the lever element is not directly connected to the pre-tensionable control piece located in the locking carrier, but rather via an L-shaped slide. The lever element thus comprises a pin extending perpendicular to its plate-shaped body, which engages in a U-shaped groove in the slide. The axially opposite end of the slide has a leg that engages in a corresponding milled recess in the control piece.

[0013] Preferably, the locking mechanism is designed as a single-piece component. Such a design is particularly advantageous because the locking mechanism can be manufactured directly and cost-effectively from a suitable grade of steel using modern CNC manufacturing processes and can then be further heat-treated as a single component.

[0014] According to another aspect, the present invention relates to a repeating rifle comprising the locking element according to the invention.

[0015] To accommodate the bolt assembly, the repeating rifle comprises a sleeve, which is typically connected to the rifle barrel. On the side axially opposite the rifle barrel, the sleeve has an opening into which the bolt assembly can be inserted. Preferably, the opening has a chamfer on its end face, allowing the locking lever to make surface contact with the inside of the sleeve when the bolt assembly is inserted. The chamfer on the repeating rifle's sleeve thus ensures that the locking lever of the bolt assembly makes surface contact with the sleeve rather than a line contact, which is particularly advantageous for inserting or removing the bolt assembly from the sleeve.

[0016] The invention and its technical context are explained in more detail below with reference to the figures. It should be noted that the invention is not intended to be limited by the exemplary embodiments shown. In particular, unless explicitly stated otherwise, it is also possible to extract partial aspects of the situations explained in the figures and combine them with other elements and findings from the present description and / or figures. It should be noted in particular that the figures, and especially the depicted proportions, are only schematic. The same reference numerals denote the same objects, so that explanations from other figures can be consulted as needed. The figures show: Fig. 1 shows an embodiment of the closure element according to the invention in an exploded view, Fig. 2 shows the Figure 1The illustrated embodiment of the locking element is shown in a perspective view, with the locking element in a closed and locked state, Fig. 3 a sectional view of the Figure 2 shown locking element in a top view before firing, Fig. 4 a sectional view of the in Figure 2 shown locking element in a top view after firing, Fig. 5 a sectional view of the in Figure 1 The locking element shown is shown in a top view, with the locking element in an open and unlocked state, Fig. 6 a perspective view of the in Fig. 5 shown locking element, and Fig. 7 shows a section of a repeating rifle with the locking element, which is in an unlocked state.

[0017] First, attention will be drawn to the Figure 1Reference is made to a possible embodiment of a locking element 1 according to the invention for a repeating rifle 2, as it is described in Figure 7 is shown.

[0018] The locking element 1 consists of several precision mechanical components and essentially comprises a locking carrier 3, which in this case is designed as a one-piece component, a locking handle 4, a locking head 5, a control piece 6, a locking lever 7, a bolt 8, a slide piece 9 and a firing pin 10.

[0019] As shown by the Figure 1As can be seen, the bolt carrier 3 has a bolt carrier head 11, which forms a rear section of the bolt carrier 3 and is also referred to as a breechblock in bolt carrier systems known from the prior art. A hollow cylindrical element 12 extends axially from the bolt carrier head 11, via which the bolt carrier 1 can be inserted into a sleeve 13 of the repeating rifle 2 (see Figure 7 ). On its side facing the hollow cylindrical element 12, the locking carrier head 11 is provided with a flange-shaped end face 14, via which the locking carrier 3 in turn contacts a stop surface 15 of the sleeve 13 in the closed and locked state of the locking element 1.

[0020] Inside the locking carrier 3, the control piece 6 is slidably arranged, which is also formed from a hollow cylindrical body. Based on the Figure 1It is evident that the control piece 6 has a flange 16 on its outer surface, which divides the control piece 6 into a front region 17 and a rear region 18. The outer circumferential surface of the flange 16 essentially corresponds to the inner diameter of the hollow cylindrical locking carrier 3, as can be seen from the Figures 3 to 5 as can be seen. Furthermore, the control piece 6 has two aligned bores 19 in the outer surface of the front area 17 of the control piece 6 and a bore 20 arranged in the rear area 18.

[0021] The bolt head 5 is also divided into two sections. It has a rear section 21, which is hollow and cylindrical, and a front section 22 axially opposite the rear section 21. The front section 22 comprises three radially extending locking lugs 23 at its distal end, arranged at equal intervals. The locking lugs 23 typically lock the bolt element 1 into the receiver 13 of the repeating rifle 2, enabling, among other things, the firing of a shot. Furthermore, the rear section 21 of the bolt head 5 has two aligned and approximately diagonally extending control cams 24 in its outer surface. These cams are designed as elongated bores and, when installed, communicate with the two bores 19 of the control piece 6.

[0022] The locking handle 4 is located in the rear area of the locking element 1 and is rotatably connected to the locking carrier head 11 of the locking carrier 3. As can be seen from the Figure 1 As can be seen, the locking handle 4 comprises, firstly, a lever element 25, which is formed from a plate-shaped body and is largely form-fitting to the shape of the base of the bolt carrier head 11. Both components, i.e., the bolt carrier 3 and the locking handle 4, are rotatably connected to each other in the assembled state via a pin 26, which sits in a bore 27 in the lever element 25. Extending from the lever element 25 – in this embodiment to the right – is a bolt handle 28, which is rigidly connected to the lever element 25 and by means of which the cycling action of the locking element 1 can be actuated.

[0023] This lever element 25 is directly connected via the slide 9 to the control piece 6, which is arranged in the bolt carrier 3 and can be pre-tensioned by a spring element (not shown). It can be visualized that the spring element (not shown) is arranged around the rear section 18 of the control piece 6 and rests with one of its two axial ends against the annular surface of the flange 16 facing the rear section 18. Furthermore, the lever element 25 comprises a pin 29 that engages in a U-shaped groove in the slide 9. The pin 29 is arranged on a plateau whose surface is set back from the rest of the plate-shaped lever element 25, which rests against the base of the bolt carrier head 11.

[0024] In the Figure 1 The U-shaped groove is not visible due to the perspective view, but is located at the end of the slide piece 9 facing the lever element 25.

[0025] At the axially opposite end, the slide piece 9 comprises a leg 30 extending perpendicularly from its base body, which engages in a corresponding milled recess 31 in the control piece 6. The milled recess 31 is located approximately on the side opposite the through-bore 20, as can be seen in particular from the Figures 3 to 5 as is evident.

[0026] During the cycling process, the bolt element 1 is pulled towards the shooter's shoulder via its locking handle 4 to reload a round or to move the bolt element 1 into a position where it can be removed from the cartridge case 13, for example, for barrel inspection. For this, the bolt element 1 must be unlocked, which is achieved by rotating the locking handle 4 about its axis of rotation, which is defined by the pin 26. As already explained, the locking handle 4 is connected via the sliding piece 9 to the pre-tensioned control piece 6 located in the bolt carrier 3, which in turn is rotatably connected to the bolt head 5, which includes the locking lugs 23. The rotating movement of the locking handle 4 thus results in a translational movement of the control piece 6 against a spring force.

[0027] The rotating movement of the bolt head 5 is achieved by the specific connection between the rear section 21 of the bolt head 5 and the front section 17 of the control piece 6. This can be seen in particular from the Figures 3 to 5 As can be seen, the inner diameter of the hollow cylindrical rear section 21 of the locking head 5 corresponds essentially to the outer diameter of the front section 17 of the control piece 6, allowing the locking head 5 to be rotatably mounted on the control piece 6 via its rear section 21. A pin 32, located in the communicating bores 19 and 24, transmits the translational movement to the locking head 5, causing it, along with the locking lugs 23, to be rotated by approximately 60° via the roughly diagonally running control cams 24 and the pin 32, thus unlocking the locking element 1. This state, in which the locking element 1 is open and unlocked, is described in the Figures 5 to 7shown.

[0028] In order to fully withdraw the locking element 1 from the sleeve 13 of the repeating rifle 2, it must be returned – in its now open position – to the locked position so that the locking lugs 23 can pass the trigger lug (not shown) located in the sleeve 13. For this purpose, the locking element 1 also includes the locking lever 7, which sits in a recess 33 located on the outside of the bolt carrier 3. As can be seen in particular from the Figure 1 , 2 , 6 and 7 As can be seen, the recess 33 is groove-shaped and extends axially from the locking carrier head 11 over the end face 14 or the flange 16 to a through bore 34 arranged in the hollow cylindrical element 12 of the locking carrier 3.

[0029] The locking lever 7 essentially has an elongated body which, at its distal end 35, includes an actuating surface 36 and, at its second end 37 axially opposite the distal end 35, a lug 38 which engages in an annular groove 39 of the bolt 8. The locking lever 7 thus has a first end 35 with an ergonomically optimized actuating surface 36 located in the locking carrier head 11. With respect to the end face 14, the first end 35 of the locking lever 7, or rather the ergonomically optimized actuating surface 36, is positioned axially behind the end face 14 of the locking carrier 3. This makes the locking element 1 particularly easy to operate with the thumb of the hand opening the locking mechanism. The axially opposite second end 37 of the locking lever 7 is in contact with the bolt 8 via the nose 38, which, in the unlocked state of the locking element 1, sits in the bore 20 of the control piece 6 which is aligned with the through bore 34 (see for example . Figure 5 With respect to the front surface 14, the second end 37 of the fixing lever 7 is therefore positioned axially in front of the front surface 14 of the locking carrier 3.

[0030] Because the control piece 6 is pre-tensioned in the open and unlocked state of the locking element 1 and its translational movement is blocked by the bolt 8 seated in the bore 20, the blockage can be released by actuating the locking lever 7 at its actuating surface 36, thereby changing the locking element 1 from the unlocked to the locked state in its open position. The locking lever 7 is then pre-tensioned again by a spring element 40, which in this embodiment engages in front of the distal end region 35. The bolt 8 penetrates the through-bore 34 and, due to the pre-tensioned locking lever 7, rests on the outer surface of the control piece 6 (see Figure 3 ).

[0031] Figure 3Figure 1 shows a sectional view of the locking element 1 in a top view before firing. The firing pin 10 is in a rearward position. The locking element 1 is locked and in the sleeve 13 of the repeating rifle 2 in a closed position. It can be seen in particular that the bolt 8 penetrates the through-hole 34 and, due to the pre-tensioned locking lever 7, rests against the outer surface of the control piece 6. Furthermore, it is evident that the rear section 21 of the bolt head 5 is formed from a solid material and comprises only an axial bore through which the front part of the firing pin 10 extends.

[0032] In Figure 4 The locking element 1 is shown after firing. It can be seen that the firing pin 10 is now in the forward position. The locking element 1 remains locked and in the sleeve 13 of the repeating rifle 2 in a closed position.

[0033] Figure 5 Figure 1 shows a sectional view of the locking element 1 in an open and unlocked state. It is particularly noticeable that the locking handle 4 is now rotated about the axis of rotation 26. The control piece 6 is different from the illustration in the Figures 3 and 4 further back and is now pre-tensioned. The bore 20 located in the rear area 18 of the control piece 6 is aligned with the through bore 34 of the locking carrier 3, so that the bolt 8 sits in it due to the pre-tensioned locking lever 7. The locking lugs 23 are, compared to the position according to the Figures 3 and 4 rotated by approximately 60°.

[0034] Figure 7Figure 1 shows a section of the repeating rifle 2 with the bolt assembly 1. It can be seen that the sleeve 13 has a bolt removal button 41 on its left side, by means of which the trigger lug (not shown) can be lowered to allow the bolt assembly 1, after it has been in the open and locked position as shown, to be completely removed from the sleeve 13 of the repeating rifle 2. Furthermore, it can be seen that the sleeve 13 has a chamfer 42 on its end face at the opening for receiving the bolt assembly 1, via which the locking lever 7 makes surface contact with the inside of the sleeve 13 when the bolt assembly 1 is inserted.
