Description

FIELD

[0001] The present disclosure relates to a baby bassinet, in particular a baby bassinet for a stroller.BACKGROUND

[0002] Strollers offer mobility and convenience for transporting infants and young children. However, conventional models lack a user-friendly baby bassinet that is adapted for the active life that many want to live today.

[0003] Most baby bassinets are deemed to be less user-friendly since they are complicated for one caregiver to manipulate alone. Moreover, the functioning of the baby bassinet is often not intuitive enough and easy to understand such that the caregiver is led to loose time. Bassinets also tend to be cumbersome. These drawbacks may lead to fatigue, stress and potential discomfort. There is an increased risk for accidents with a baby bassinet that is difficult to maneuver.SUMMARY

[0004] The present disclosure provides an improved baby bassinet, in particular a baby bassinet for a stroller, that is user-friendly, easy for one caregiver to manipulate alone, intuitive to use and easy to maneuver. It is an object to provide an enhanced baby bassinet.

[0005] The object is solved by the configurations as presented in the claims, aspects and example configurations, examples and embodiments as described herein. Advantageous further formations may be gleaned from the dependent claims and from the below description.

[0006] According to an aspect, a bassinet for a child carrying unit is provided.

[0007] The bassinet may comprising a base configured to provide structural support. The base may comprise an interior space configured to receive an infant.

[0008] The bassinet may further comprise a cover configured to be releasably attached to a top rim of the base and to provide an upper protection to the base. The top rim of the base may also be called the top side of the base. The cover may comprise at least a first cover portion and a second cover portion configured to be pivotable relative to the adjacent cover portion.

[0009] An advantage with having a cover portion with a first cover portion and a second cover portion pivotable relative to each other, is that the cover is easy to manipulate for the user. Access to the child is facilitated. The cover can be folded by the user to access the interior space of the base, where the child is arranged, with one hand. It is equally easy to put the cover back to cover the base after checking on the infant.

[0010] According to an embodiment, a first folding region may connect the first and second cover portions such that the first and second cover portions are pivotable relative to the each other.

[0011] An advantage with having a folding region between the cover portions is that the cover portions are easily foldable. It is also visible to the user where cover may be folded to access the baby. This may be an advantage in situation where quick access to the baby is required. The folding region may be provided by a weakening in the fabric of cover. The folding region may also be formed by the first cover portion and the second cover portion being sewn together. A hinge may also link adjacent cover portions together. It is also possible that the first cover portion and the second cover portion are formed by a fabric configured to be easily foldable in at particular direction or in several directions. The properties of the material defining the foldability of the cover. Depending on the user's need to fold the cover, different folding regions can then be used.

[0012] According to an embodiment, the cover may comprise at least a third cover portion configured to be pivotable relative to the second cover portion. It is equally possible to have a fourth, fifth, sixth cover portion or more if needed.

[0013] The advantage being that a cover segmented into several cover portions has more possible configurations and offers increased foldability.

[0014] According to an embodiment, a second folding region may connect the second and third cover portions such that the second and third cover portions are pivotable relative to the each other.

[0015] The advantages of a second folding region between the second and third cover portions are readily apparent from the advantages described for the first folding region.

[0016] According to an embodiment, each cover portion of the bassinet may be configured to pivot between a closed configuration, preventing access to the interior space of the base arranged below the cover portion from a top side of the cover portion to an open configuration, allowing access to the interior space.

[0017] An advantage of the closed and open configuration is that access can be prevented or allowed to a space arranged below the cover in an effective manner.

[0018] According to an embodiment, the interior space of the base may comprise the area arranged below the cover portion when the cover is arranged on top of the base.

[0019] According to an embodiment, the cover may be arranged in a covered configuration over the base when each cover portion is arranged in the closed configuration. The cover may be arranged in a partially covered configuration over the base when at least one cover portion is folded to abut an adjacent cover portion arranged in the closed configuration.

[0020] In the covered configuration, the cover provides an upper protection to the base of the bassinet. The baby arranged in the bassinet is protected from outer weather conditions such as rain, wind and sun.

[0021] In the partially covered configuration, at least one cover portion being foldable to abut an adjacent cover portion means that the user does not have to hold the cover to provide partial access to the interior space of the bassinet. This is an advantages compared to covers available in the market, where the user has to hold the cover to keep it in a partially covered configuration. Here, the user can arrange the cover in a partially covered configuration with one hand. The cover stays in the partially covered configuration due to the foldability of the cover portions. It can also be said that the cover stays in the partially covered configuration due to the cover portions being pivotable relative to each other. An advantage of providing the cover in the partially covered configuration over the base is that access to the interior space of the base is facilitated while some protection for the infant from the outer environment is still provided. This is particularly advantageous when it is cold outside and there is a need to keep the baby shielded from wind and / or rain but the user still needs to access the interior space of the base to e.g. provide care to the baby.

[0022] According to an embodiment, the cover can be arranged in a stacked configuration, in which the cover portions are stacked onto one another.

[0023] According to an embodiment, the cover can be arranged in the stacked configuration on the base, by arranging one of the cover portions in a lowermost position on the base and stacking the cover portions on top of the lowermost cover portion.

[0024] An advantage of providing the cover in a stacked configuration over the base is that the cover takes up little space over the base in this configuration. The user can arrange the cover in a stacked configuration to have easy access to the baby in the bassinet. The cover is displaceable over the base in the stacked configuration.

[0025] According to an embodiment, first attachment means for attaching a rearmost part of the cover and the base may be provided such that the cover is configured to be pivotable relative to the base.

[0026] An advantage of the rearmost part of the cover being releasably attached to the base by first attachment means is that the cover is easy to manage for the user. The cover can be thrown over the base or cast aside, but by remaining attached to base, there is no risk of losing the cover.
