A playpen includes a plurality of support bars, a bed cushion, and a fixing device to fix the bed cushion on the support bars. Thus, the snapping plate of each of the holders of the fixing device is locked on the respective positioning seat, and the sleeve of each of the holders of the fixing device is locked on the respective support bar by the locking, so that each of the holders is positioned on the respective positioning seat and the respective support bar so as to support the bed cushion rigidly and stably, thereby preventing the bed cushion from becoming loosened or detached from the playpen.

An infant calming/sleep-aid/SIDS detection device is provided that includes a main moving platform that moves in a variable manner with accompanying variable sound generation, the sound and motion adapted to calm a fussy baby, induce sleep, and maintain sleep under normal conditions. The device may also have a sensor for detection of pauses in breathing and/or detection of resultant biological changes related to breathing pauses and respond with appropriate stimuli to arouse the baby and allow breathing to recommence.

A mattress sheet is provided that has a panel of a selected size and configuration to be disposed on a mattress in a close fitted relationship. A portable child's bed is a bassinet hangably suspended from a pair of frame members. The bassinet includes a pair of opposing sidewalls that have a seam which allows for the sidewalls to inwardly pivot and then fold so as to allow for the compaction of the bassinet unit. The bassinet also includes a plurality of storage pockets capable of holding such infant-care related items such as diapers, powder, ointments, small blankets, towelettes, formula, feeding bottles and many other related items. The bassinet may also include a canopy for shielding the infant's head while resting or sleeping. The frame members include a telescoping strut which extendably expands or contracts within a strut housing. The telescoping strut and strut housing are in fluid communication and connected by a rotatable joint having an anterior and posterior sleeve to accommodate the pair of frames. The anterior sleeve is rotatable through 180°, thereby providing the pair of frames the ability to fully expand and position the telescoping struts in such a way so as to provide support to the bassinet. The anterior sleeve also allows for the frames to be compacted so as to reconfigure the portable child's bed into a lightweight and convenient travel bag.

A co-sleeper convertibly adapted for use as a changing table, bassinet or play yard is described. The invention includes a first rigid enclosure that has four walls and a floor with the front wall capable of being positioned at an upper level equal to the remaining walls or at a second lower level. The first enclosure is capable of supporting a second enclosure within it that has four walls, a floor and can support a mattress. The co-sleeper is secured at one side of a parental bed with the co-sleeper mattress positioned a short distance below the level of the mattress of the parental bed. The front wall of the invention is placed in the second, lowered position for use as a co-sleeper or changing table and positioned at the upper level when the invention is used as a play yard or bassinet. The front wall has a fixed lower portion and a raisable upper portion. The upper portion of the front wall is formed as a rigid panel or as a flexible panel and various means are used to maintain the upper portion of the front wall in the upper position. The rigid panel may be hingedly attached to the first enclosure, slide in tracks, pivot or be completely removable. The rigid panel may zip in place or be maintained by a removable cross-rail secured in a passageway at the upper edge of the upper portion of the flexible front wall that attaches to the first enclosure front rails.

An apparatus for reciprocating an infant support comprises a frame and a receiving member supported above the frame for substantially vertical reciprocating movement. The receiving member is configured to receive the infant support and, in one embodiment, is coupled to the frame by a reciprocating assembly configured to constrain the motion of the receiving member in a substantially vertical direction. A motive device coupled to the receiving member reciprocates the receiving member relative to the frame. The apparatus may also include a counterbalance mechanism configured to offset the load of the infant and the infant support on the motive device.

A power-controlled bed mainly includes an upper bed frame on which a mattress divided into movable back, thigh, and leg rest parts and a fixed hip rest part is supported; a lower bed frame; at least one lifting mechanism pivotally connected at upper and lower ends to the upper and the lower bed frames, respectively; and a microcomputer controller for controlling operation of the lifting mechanism. The lifting mechanism may be manually controlled for the upper bed frame to statically stay at different positions, or be automatically controlled via the controller to dynamically shift the upper bed frame between two or more selected position combinations, so that the force of gravity is well utilized in the movements of the bed to promote a user's blood circulation, help clearing of sputum, enable sufficient supply of oxygen to the brain, do rehabilitation exercises, etc.

A changing table is provided for engagement to a playard that includes at least one top rail. The changing table includes a support structure and a platform coupled to the support structure, the platform being sized to support a child. The changing table is configured to engage the playard. The changing table is configured so that, when the changing table is engaged to the playard, and an opening is defined at least in part by a portion of the changing table and a nearest top rail, a portion of the opening in a direction normal to the nearest the top rail is at least 9 inches.

An infant glider device is disclosed. The glider includes a base, a carriage that moves in an oscillatory motion along a predetermined path with respect to the base, and seat connected to the carriage. The seat is rotationally repositionable about an axis generally perpendicular to the carriage, and is adapted to be reoriented from a first seat facing position to a second seat facing position, and vice versa.

A foldable bassinet is disclosed. The bassinet can be transformed from an erected position wherein a floor of the bassinet is substantially horizontal to ground, and elevated therefrom by a stand, to a folded position wherein the bassinet is compacted into a relatively small size. Using a uni-directional hinge in the floor of the bassinet, and a plurality of over-center locks, the floor of the bassinet can be locked into the horizontal position easily and effectively, without any structure provided directly below the center of the bassinet floor.

A co-sleeping apparatus which facilitates parents sleeping with infants and/or pets is devoid of ground contacting support members, thus eliminating obstacles to vacuuming, allowing for simpler construction, portability and transport, etc. Various embodiments of the present co-sleeper provide for one or more of the following: adjustable height sidewalls; adjustable angulation of mattress platform; suspended mattress platform in the absence of rigid vertical supports between a top supporting rail and a mattress platform; provision of pockets/hampers along the exterior and/or beneath the co-sleeping apparatus for storage of products; a retractable cover; provision of mechanical bouncing, heating, rocking and sound emitting apparatuses in association with the co-sleeper, etc. In a particular embodiment, the design relates to a co-sleeper for pets, the confines of such co-sleeper permits access of pets to food, water, kitty litter, etc.

A ventilation system that includes a fan for providing fresh air within an infant's sleeping area. The fan may be mounted to the infant's sleeping device and may include fan guards surrounding the fan for increased safety. The ventilation system may include a sensing device for monitoring the conditions within the infant's sleeping area. The sensing device may monitor the oxygen level, the carbon dioxide level, and the presence of smoke. The sensing device may monitor for additional toxic gasses or hazardous conditions within the infant's sleeping area. The ventilation system may further include a remote receiver that receives signals from the sensing device if a hazardous condition exists within the infant's sleeping area. The ventilation system may further include local and remote alarms configured to provide notification of a hazardous condition within the infant's sleeping area.

An infant support structure with an entertainment device that may be used to pacify and/or entertain an infant is disclosed. In one embodiment, the infant support structure is an infant swing. In one embodiment, the entertainment device includes a toy aquarium. The entertainment device may be removably coupled to the infant support structure.

Collapsible furniture assemblies having resilient locking barbs are provided. The furniture assemblies are comprised of plurality of panels that are interlockable by a plurality of registerable slots defined by the panels. The panels are further positively locked together in an assembled configuration by the incorporation of locking barbs into at least one panel of the furniture assembly which are received by at least one additional panel of the assembly. In multiple applications, several locking barbs are incorporated into different panels to positively lock the panels is an assembled configuration. Panels of the furniture assemblies can be formed to simulate the profiles of animals and furniture sets comprising multiple different collapsible furniture assemblies and collapsible furniture assemblies which can be constructed into different types of furniture are provided.
