Absorbent articles with frangible pathways

The present disclosure relates to absorbent articles having a first belt and a second belt with one or more frangible pathways. A frangible pathway may extend between a proximal terminus on an inner edge of a belt and a distal terminus on an outer edge of the belt. A grip region comprising an accessibility opening may be positioned between the inner and outer edges of the belt. The frangible pathway may comprise a first tear zone and a second tear zone extending from the accessibility opening to the distal terminus and to the proximal terminus. Such frangible pathway configurations provide a feature that allows a belt of a diaper pant to be relatively easily torn along the frangible pathway when removing the diaper pant from a wearer. The frangible pathway may be configured to allow a caregiver to initiate and / or completely tear the first belt with one hand.

Non-Invasive Cognitive Device

A non-invasive cognitive device is disclosed, which produces an electrical stimulation which mimics the strength of energy produced in the brain. The non-invasive cognitive device comprises a small electromagnetic disc and monitoring system that transmits signals to the brain. The disc is attached to an anchor and positioned behind a user's right ear. The disc, which is paired to a monitoring system, sends electromagnetic signals with music directly to a user's brain. Nurses or caregivers can monitor which music positively or negatively affects the user's state of mind. Specifically, users transmit electrical stimulation and music to the right temporal lobe which is then communicated to the left temporal lobe. This is then transmitted to the medulla oblongata to ease or calm down the uncontrolled behavior associated with dementia, depression, Alzheimer's, anxiety, etc.

Method for putting on and taking off socks for people with tetraplegia

FIELD: restorative medicine.SUBSTANCE: used to teach people with tetraplegia how to put on and take off socks independently. In a patient with tetraplegia, the range of motion of the upper body is determined within 5–15°, the presence of a hook grip with one finger of the hand. To perform the exercises, socks are used, on the sides of which two loops or two rings are attached to the top of each sock, or two holes are made for hooking with the fingers. Moreover, if the disabled person has the ability to perform movements of the upper body within 5°, then they are used to put on and take off socks with loops or rings. If a disabled person is unable to insert fingers into soft loops, metal rings with a diameter of 3 cm, made of an iron-nickel alloy, coated on the inside with polymorphus thermoplastic, are used. If the disabled person has the ability to perform bends from a sitting position within 6–15° and returning to the starting position without using the hands or with one hand, then holes with a diameter of 3 cm are made on the sides of the toe. Next, a course of 15 individual training sessions is carried out by an occupational therapist for 40 minutes daily in the morning in the presence of a caregiver, with 3-minute breaks every 10 minutes for the disabled person to rest. In the first 6 sessions, the disabled person learns to put on a sock on one foot, alternating feet every day. From the 7th session, the lesson includes training in putting on and taking off socks for 20 minutes on each foot. From the first day of classes, the disabled person and the caregiver practice putting on and taking off socks from each foot once in the evening. On weekends, put on and take off a sock from each foot twice a day, morning and evening. During independent exercises, the disabled person sits, and the caregiver places the shin of the leg on which the sock will be placed across the thigh of the other leg. The disabled person bends his body within 5–15° and throws the sock over the toes. Then, straightening up and leaning the torso back, the disabled person pulls the sock onto the forefoot. In this case, the disabled person leans back and turns the body in the same direction as the leg being put on, and pulls the sock onto the heel. Next, tilting the body to the side of the leg being put on, the disabled person pulls the top of the sock onto the shin. The caregiver lowers the disabled person's shin to the floor; to remove the sock, use a hook grip with the thumb of the hand opposite the leg. The disabled person grasps the loop, or ring, or hole on the inside of the sock and moves the toe down and toward the front of the foot, bending and turning the torso forward and to the side opposite the leg being undressed within 5–15°.EFFECT: social and everyday adaptation of disabled people with tetraplegia.1 cl, 4 dwg, 3 ex

Ultra-wideband locating systems and methods

High-accuracy locating systems and methods are used for determining successful caregiver rounding, monitoring whether housekeepers have properly cleaned patient beds, or determining whether patients have ambulated sufficient distances during recovery. Patient beds having at least two locating tags are used for establishing patient care zones around the patient beds. Locating anchors and equipment tags are moved around a patient room to determine optimum locating anchor placement within the patient room based on signal quality values. A locating tag on a patient bed switches roles to operate as a locating anchor in response to the patient bed becoming stationary. A locating tag has a digital compass which is used to determine a field of good ranging relative to a front of a caregiver wearing the locating tag.
