An infant rest, particularly for use with infant support devices, such as cribs, bassinets, strollers, infant seats and the like. The infant rest of the present invention provides not only support for the head of the infant from sudden movements and the impact from sudden movements but from the effects of the environment as well. A padded roll is formed by a doubled padded layer which provides protection from sudden movements and the impacts from sudden movement. A zipper or other fastener is disengaged to allow this doubled padded layer to extend upward into a single layer to form a bonnet around the head of the infant. This provides protection from excessive sun, wind, cold or other environmental causes.

A portable child's bed is a bassinet hangably suspended from a pair of frame members. The bassinet includes a pair of opposing sidewalls that have a seam which allows for the sidewalls to inwardly pivot and then fold so as to allow for the compaction of the bassinet unit. The bassinet also includes a plurality of storage pockets capable of holding such infant-care related items such as diapers, powder, ointments, small blankets, towelettes, formula, feeding bottles and many other related items. A foldable bassinet is disclosed. The bassinet can be transformed from an erected position wherein a floor of the bassinet is substantially horizontal to ground, and elevated therefrom by a stand, to a folded position wherein the bassinet is compacted into a relatively small size. Using a uni-directional hinge in the floor of the bassinet, and a plurality of over-center locks, the floor of the bassinet can be locked into the horizontal position easily and effectively, without any structure provided directly below the center of the bassinet floor.

Various embodiments are directed to a bassinet assembly that includes an inclinable floor that can be supported above a support surface using one or more zippers. For example, the bassinet assembly includes a floor and side walls that extend upwardly from and surround the floor. The floor includes an inclinable flap, and a row of zipper teeth are disposed along at least a portion of a perimeter of the inclinable flap. A mating row of zipper teeth are disposed on at least a portion of the side walls, and when one or more zippers engage the rows of zipper teeth to join them together, the inclinable flap is secured at an angle greater than 0° relative to the floor. A bassinet for mounting on a play yard frame is supported to provide a swinging movement of the bassinet relative to the play yard. The bassinet is suspended from four detachable connector mounts that slide over the upper frame member of the play yard frame by three flexible support members and a single rigid support member that is operatively connected to a motor housed within a motorized connector mount to drive the swinging motion for the bassinet. The movement induced into the bassinet is controlled by the four support members to keep the bottom surface of the bassinet at a horizontal orientation throughout the swinging movement. The infant product is foldable between a deployed position for use and a compact configuration for shipping and storage. In the assembled configuration, the infant receptacle is convertible between a bassinet configuration in which the infant receptacle has a substantially planar support surface and an infant seat configuration in which the support surface of the infant receptacle is partially titled or disposed at an angle such that the infant can be supported in an elevated or seated position. Various embodiments include a collapsible play yard and bassinet assembly combination. The floor of the play yard comprises a release mechanism attached to lower horizontal frame members of the play yard, and when the release mechanism is engaged, the lower horizontal frame members are moved upwardly and inwardly to collapse the play yard. The bassinet assembly has a floor and one or more side walls that have an upper perimeter, and the upper perimeter is adapted for securing adjacent the upper perimeter of the play yard. The floor of the bassinet assembly also defines an opening that allows a user to reach through the opening to access and engage the release mechanism without removing the bassinet assembly from the play yard.

An apparatus for holding and feeding a preterm infant comprising a neonatal bassinet that holds the infant in a position for feeding, a gavage syringe for holding and dispensing nutritional liquid through a catheter, and a Gavage Syringe Restraining Device (GSRD) attached to the bassinet. The GSRD is an L-shaped bracket which holds the gavage syringe in an elevated position above the infant. The GSRD comprises a vertical arm which holds the gavage syringe and a horizontal arm which is mounted to the inside bottom surface of the bassinet under a removable mattress. The vertical arm includes a plurality of vertical slits arranged in pairs. An adjustable strap is positioned through a selected pair of slits and is wrapped around the gavage syringe to hold the syringe in a selected position. The bassinet may be mounted on a mobile cart and moved without interrupting the feeding of the infant, and without having to remove the syringe from a fixed mounting location.

Upon connection of the bassinet to the infant care tower, the processor operates to control both the infant care tower and the bassinet in maintain the microenvironment of the bassinet. In a method of treating an infant patient, an infant patient is provided in a microenvironment defined and maintained by a bassinet. The bassinet is communicatively connected to the care tower and a first processor of the infant care tower operates the bassinet to maintain the microenvironment to provide medical care to the infant patient with the at least one medical device of the infant care tower.
