An infant is illuminated with heater radiant energy so as to warm the infant. A detector remotely senses infant radiated energy so as to determine the extent of infant warmth, and a controller responsive to the detector regulates the heater radiant energy accordingly. Skin-reflected heater radiant energy is limited at least during measurements of infant radiated energy.

An incubator's closure assembly adapted to shut the aperture of a magnetic resonance imaging device (MRD) having an open bore extended along the MRD's longitudinal axis with a distal end and proximal end, the bore is terminated by the aperture located in the proximal end, into which a neonate's incubator is inserted, thereby shutting the MRD bore aperture. The closure assembly comprising at least one U-shaped conduit having (i) an array of distal and proximal sealing walls, both are substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis and having upwards and downwards directions, and (ii) a recess in between the walls having length, in upwards to downwards direction, and width, in distal to proximal direction, each of the proximal wall and the distal wall comprising a cutout at opposite directions, and wherein in the recess, the ratio of length to width is greater than a predefined value n.

The present invention premature neonate life support environmental cradle (SEC), adapted by means of shape and size to be accommodated within (i) an incubator for premature neonates; and (ii) a measurement device, especially an MRI device. The SEC is configured for a first at least one open position for accommodating said neonate whilst the SEC is within the incubator, and a second closed position for confinement of the neonate within a sealed volume of incubator atmosphere within the SEC such that the integrity of the confinement is maintained upon removal of the closed SEC containing the neonate from the incubator.

An illumination unit illuminates at least said region of interest with light, and a control unit controls said illumination unit based on said input signal and/or said derived vital sign information.

A docking-station useful for providing a neonate predefined, continuous, stabilized and non-interrupted life-support environmental conditions, comprising of: (i) a neonate incubator, having at least one first opening and a life support system, and (ii) an imaging-device, having a scanning chamber with at least one second opening. The docking-station is configured such that said neonate incubator first opening and said scanning chamber second opening are juxtapose-able so as to reversibly hermetically communicate; thereby providing said neonate predefined, continuous, stabilized, non-interrupted life-support environmental conditions during the entire process of scanning.

A combined monitor and light box assembly installable in a crib enclosure occupied by an infant. The assembly which is interactive with the infant includes a light box on whose front face is mounted a semi-reflective mirror behind which is a film transparency having a photographic image of the infant's mother. When a light bulb in the box is energized to illuminate the transparency, the image of the mother becomes visible to the infant through the mirror which is then effectively transparent. Associated with the light box is a sound-activated switching device connected between the bulb and a power source. Also associated with the light box is a record playback unit having stored therein a voice message recorded by the mother addressed to her infant, the unit being rendered operative only when the bulb is energized. The monitor which is operative only after the switch is activated, radio-transmits the crying sounds then emanating from the infant to a receiver that can be heard by the mother.
