High-strength, lightweight blow-molded plastic structures

Blow-molded plastic structures may include a plurality of depressions and the depressions may have different characteristics depending, for example, upon the particular configuration of the depression. For example, a depression may have an elongated length and it may have increased strength along its length. The depressions may be arranged into a pattern in order to take advantage of particular characteristics of the depressions. For example, the depressions may be arranged to maximize the strength and / or minimize the weight of the structure. The depressions may also be arranged to create a structure with generally uniform characteristics. Significantly, the depressions may be arranged into a number of different patterns depending, for example, upon the intended use of the structure. For instance, the depressions may be arranged into a pattern with one or more rows and columns, and the depressions may be disposed in particular positions or orientations within the rows or columns.

Surgical scanning system and process for use thereof

A surgical scanning system includes a scanner supported on a carrier movable relative to an operating room table. The carrier engages a guide that is collinear with the long axis of an operating room table. The relative movement between an operating room table and a scanner along a guide decreases the likelihood of collision therebetween. The ability to collect a scan of a patient while on an operating room table increases the likelihood of a successful surgical outcome.

Table, especially office and conference table

The invention relates to a table which is primarily used as an office or conference table, is longer than 2.5 m, and comprises an upwardly open trough (2) as a substructure which is arranged beneath the leaf (1) of the table and preferably consists of sheet metal which is e.g. 2 mm thick. The leaf of the table (1) is connected in a fixed manner to edges (25) which are bent away from the trough (2), creating a sandwich-type structure with mutual reinforcement of the leaf (1) of the table and the trough (2). Especially advantageously, the trough (2) has a trapezoidal cross-section. A grid of openings (210) in the trough (2) enables the feet (4) of the table to be mounted in any position. Additional appliance openings (211) are used to insert socket units (80), while installation openings (200) in the bottom (20) of the trough (2) as used as cable ducts. A height leveling device is provided in each foot (4). A particular advantage of the invention is the stability achieved with a relatively light structure, even for longer tables.
