Medication delivery and monitoring system and methods

A medication delivery and monitoring system and methods whereby drugs are safely delivered to a patient, monitored in real-time during delivery and crucial events are recorded during delivery to provide real-time, on-line information and detail for an audit trail. A novel safety label cradle unit is disclosed. Safety label cradles (SLC's) are provided in a plurality of sizes to match varying sizes of syringes which are disposed on a cradle of the SLC to provide a constant needle height on the SLC unit independent of syringe volume (barrel diameter). A selected SLC is securely affixed to a syringe by an adhesively backed label wrapping. The label is preprinted to provide drug identification indicia and drug preparation information. The information is automatically read into the system from the label. A novel delivery station of the system monitors drug delivery as a plunger of the syringe is pushed to deliver a drug to a patient. A smart tray in cooperation with a slider portion of the SLC is used to selectively deliver drugs to a port in the IV set. The smart tray comprises a first portion for carrying SLC units, an attachable second portion having a control panel for operating the system and a cover for lockably affixing the SLC units to the tray.

Camera provided with touchscreen

An electronic camera is provided with a touchscreen. When a cameraman touches the touchscreen on a principal subject in a captured image shown on the touchscreen, the touched portion is determined and the focus and exposure are adjusted in conformity with the principal subject. When the image is designated to be stored, positional information on the principal subject as well as image information is stored into a built-in memory or a detachable external memory. For this reason, wherever the principal subject is located on the image, the image-capturing is performed with favorable results. The positional information on the principal subject is utilized for printing or reproducing the image so as to perform image tone corrections such as correction of brightness and skin pigmentation in an area including the principal subject, so that a high-quality image can be printed or reproduced.

Mitigating interference in a signal

A method and receiver are disclosed for mitigating or substantially canceling signal interference between signals detected at the receiver. Once a presumed interfering signal(s) is acquired, parameters are determined that allow the interferer(s) to be modeled. The phase invariance of the process eliminates the need to acquire the interferer's phase. An orthogonal projection (for projecting onto a detection subspace which is orthogonal to a subspace spanned by the interferer(s)) is applied to the composite of all signals (y) for thereby projecting y onto the detection subspace. The interference subspace is non-orthogonal to a representation of desired (but interfered) signal of the composite signals. With the receiver properly equipped to perform this projection operation, interfering signals, multipath, multipath-like, and structured jamming signals can be effectively diminished.

Interactive driving simulator, and methods of using same

In an interactive driving simulation apparatus for a two-wheeled vehicle, a real-time test drive performance by a student operator around a simulated driving route sequence is recorded. The recorded performance is later replayed for the benefit of the student, to provide real-world simulation, education, and performance evaluation. During the simulated driving, pre-recorded performance evaluation comments are selected and stored, corresponding to the student's specific performance at a traffic driving situation on the driving route sequence. Then, upon displaying of a replay screen image of the simulated driving on a display unit, when a particular traffic driving situation is arrived at, a simulated operating environment of the traffic driving situation and the selected performance evaluation comments are automatically superimposed and displayed together as a replay screen 154.

Service providing system, gateway, and server

A large-scale content delivery system may be achieved, which may send a large amount of contents without intensive management of the contents in the server. In a service providing system where a client, a service gateway, and a server are connected to each other through a network, the client sends a first message to the server by way of the service gateway. The service gateway inquires a processing method of the first message from the client of the server by using a second message that includes a part of the first message content. The server replies to the inquiry of the processing method from the service gateway with a program that describes the processing method, and the service gateway processes the first message from the client on the basis of the received processing method.

Arrangement for providing network prefix information from attached mobile routers to a clusterhead in a tree-based ad hoc mobile network

Mobile routers establish a tree-based network topology in an ad hoc mobile network, the tree-based network topology having a single clusterhead and attached mobile routers. Each attached mobile router has a default egress interface configured for sending messages toward the clusterhead, and ingress interfaces configured for receiving messages from attached network nodes that are away from the clusterhead. A neighbor advertisement message received from an ingress interface away from a clusterhead is used by the attached mobile router to identify specified network prefixes that are reachable via the source of the neighbor advertisement message. The attached mobile router outputs on its default upstream interface a second neighbor advertisement message that specifies the network prefix used by the attached mobile router, and the specified network prefixes from the neighbor advertisement message received on the ingress interface. Hence, connectivity is established with minimal routing overhead.

Arrangement for providing optimized connections between peer routers in a tree-based ad hoc mobile network

Mobile routers in a tree-based network topology with a single clusterhead in an ad hoc network establish connectivity based on each attached mobile router sending a neighbor advertisement message to an attachment mobile router via a corresponding egress interface. Any neighbor advertisement message received by a mobile router is used to identify specified network prefixes that are reachable via the source of the neighbor advertisement message. Each attached mobile router outputs to its attachment router another neighbor advertisement message that specifies the network prefix used by the mobile router, and the specified network prefixes from its attached mobile routers. The mobile router also identifies peer mobile routers having the same depth, and selectively shares limited routing information with the peer routers, enabling the mobile router to bypass the clusterhead and reach remote prefixes via the peer routers without burdening the tree.

Disclosed is a method of authorizing access to an item that maintains a lockout count and blocks access to the item if the lockout count exceeds a predetermined value. One feature is that the invention “variably” increments the lockout count if the presented password fails to exactly match the stored password. In this process the invention increments the lockout count different amounts depending upon how closely the presented password matches the stored password. The invention also provides a methodology that allocates a plurality of the same passwords to a plurality of users who share the same userid. The invention allows continuous operation of the item being accessed by providing that each of the passwords has a different expiration date. Also, when dealing with situations where a plurality of users who share the same userid also share the same password, the invention maps information associated with the users to the password in a data file and periodically updates the data file.
