Systems and methods for quasi-simultaneous multi-planar x-ray imaging

Systems and methods for obtaining two-dimensional images of an object, such as a patient, in multiple projection planes. In one aspect, the invention advantageously permits quasi-simultaneous image acquisition from multiple projection planes using a single radiation source.An imaging apparatus comprises a gantry having a central opening for positioning an object to be imaged, a source of radiation that is rotatable around the interior of the gantry ring and which is adapted to project radiation onto said object from a plurality of different projection angles; and a detector system adapted to detect the radiation at each projection angle to acquire object images from multiple projection planes in a quasi-simultaneous manner. The gantry can be a substantially “O-shaped” ring, with the source rotatable 360 degrees around the interior of the ring. The source can be an x-ray source, and the imaging apparatus can be used for medical x-ray imaging. The detector array can be a two-dimensional detector, preferably a digital detector.

In accordance with one embodiment, a contactless power transfer system is provided that comprises a stationary member including a power input configured to receive power at first voltage from a power supply. The system further includes a rotating member rotatably coupled to the stationary member and a rotary transformer. The rotary transformer has primary and secondary sides, with the primary side being disposed on the stationary member. The primary side has a primary winding that receives power at the first voltage from the power input. The secondary side is disposed on the rotating member and produces power at a second voltage. The secondary side has a rotating core and separate secondary sub-windings, each of which has forward and return paths that are circumferentially disposed about the rotating core. The forward and return paths of each of the sub-windings rotate proximate to, and are disposed a substantially equal distance from, the primary winding disposed on the stationary member.

Method and system for guided, efficient treatment

A system and method is provided in which medical treatment of a patient is effected in a systematic and guided fashion. From a patient's symptoms and electronic medical record, a specific diagnostic test may be recommended. Upon execution of the diagnostic test, the diagnostic scan results may be forwarded to a remote location for assistance in analysis. Once analyzed, the results are transmitted to the attending medical personnel. The results, and information which led to the decision to have a diagnostic test, are also sent to a repository for use in future diagnoses and other determinations. A monitor or dashboard is used to keep track of the various steps of the procedure, to provide on the job guidance in using a diagnostic test device, and the ensure a specific efficiency and protocol are followed. A remote location of experts may also be monitoring the dashboard, as a quality control.

Medical imaging devices, systems, and methods thereof. The medical imaging system may include a movable station and a gantry. The movable station includes a gantry mount rotatably attached to the gantry. The gantry includes an outer C-arm slidably mounted to and operable to slide relative to the gantry mount, an inner C-arm slidably coupled to the outer C-arm and, an imaging signal transmitter and sensor attached to the C-arms. The two C-arms work together to provide a full 360 degree rotation of the imaging signal transmitter. The movable station may include a motion control system and an imaging control system. In embodiments, the motion control system includes omni-directional wheels for precision controlled-movement of the movable station.
