Description

Field of the invention

[0001] The present invention, which relates to a mosquito net, aims to improve and make more efficient the installation and subsequent handling of side-opening pleated mosquito nets, thereby increasing the performance and durability of the product. Background of the invention

[0002] Existing mosquito nets currently consist of pleated fabric that is moved sideways by hand. This fabric is attached to two vertical aluminum profiles (a movable post that slides sideways and a fixed post anchored in the installation recess) by means of tensioned wires that hold and stabilize the fabric. The structure is completed by a U-shaped upper profile and a flat lower profile, along which the entire assembly slides.

[0003] One of the main keys during installation is the adjustment of the wires so that they have the ideal tension required for the mosquito net to function correctly. When the tension of the wires is not adequate, the pleated fabric is poorly fitted and unstable, negatively affecting the performance and durability of the product. To prevent this problem from occurring, the installer must have the necessary knowledge to tense the wires correctly and devote the time required to complete this task during the installation process.

[0004] Most mosquito screens currently on the market are similar in that they are fitted with a plastic ant-type chain at the bottom; they differ at the top, as some have a second chain of the same type as the bottom one, while others use metal strapping, cord, etc.

[0005] The most significant disadvantage of double-chain mosquito screens is the rigidity of their lateral movement. As a certain amount of force is required to open and close them, the chains can come out of the profiles through which they slide and break. As for mosquito screens with a chain at the bottom and a strap at the top, they have the advantage of being smoother to open and close sideways than double-chain screens, but their main drawback is the sensitivity of the strap, as continued use can cause it to break and rust.Description of the invention

[0006] The mosquito net according to the present invention offers solutions to the problems and drawbacks explained above, as well as other advantages that are explained in detail in later sections of this document.

[0007] The mosquito net according to the present invention is described in claim 1, and the dependent claims include additional features that are optional.

[0008] A first improvement consists of a piece located at the lower end of the fixed post, which, in addition to serving as a connection with the caterpillar-type chain, will allow the vertical level of the mosquito net to be adjusted and balanced with respect to the installation space using a screwdriver, making it possible to adjust the parallelism between the fixed post and the movable post to perfectly adapt to the space in which it will be placed. This feature represents a significant improvement, as it allows for easy adjustment of the vertical level and parallelism of the assembly, unlike the mosquito nets currently on the market, where it is necessary to remove some of the components to make this adjustment and then replace them once it has been made.

[0009] A second improvement relates to the fastening and tensioning of the pleated fabric, which is achieved with a piece of cable, for example, coated steel, attached to a tension adjustment element, which will allow the cable to be easily tensioned using an Allen key or screwdriver, thus enabling the necessary adjustment and regulation for the product as a whole to function with the desired smoothness. This piece for regulating and adjusting the tension of the pull element will be located at the top of the mosquito net, replacing the chain in the case of double-chain mosquito nets, the strap in the case of strap mosquito nets and the cord in the case of cord mosquito nets, thus eliminating the problems associated with these types of mechanisms.

[0010] A third improvement object of the present application is a caterpillar-type chain part, designed with a rounded shape that facilitates and smooths its lateral sliding when opening and closing the mosquito net. This part differs from the ant-type chains currently available, which cause the product as a whole to operate more rigidly and noisily.Brief explanation of the drawings

[0011] For a better understanding of what has been explained so far, some drawings are included which, in a schematic manner and only as a non-limiting example, represent a practical case of the implementation of the innovations described: Figure 1 is a perspective sectional view of the upper part of the mosquito net according to the present invention, showing the position and operation of the pull element; Figure 2 is a perspective view of the cable tension adjustment and regulation piece that forms part of the pull element; Figure 3 is a side elevation view of the lower part of the mosquito net, showing the fixed post and the movable post joined by the chain links; Figure 4 is a perspective view of the lower area between the fixed profile and the movable profile, showing how the inclination of the movable profile is adjusted with respect to the fixed profile; Figure 5 is an elevation section view of the lower part of the mosquito net, showing, according to the improvements described, a portion of the chain in its sliding movement; Figure 6 is a side elevation sectional view of part of the mosquito net when it is double; and Figure 7 is a perspective view of the tension adjustment and regulation piece of the pull element when the mosquito net is double. Description of preferred embodiments

[0012] Figure 1 shows the upper part of the mosquito net according to the present invention. In it, we can see the fabric (1), which has a net-like composition to prevent the passage of insects and moves laterally between a closed position and an open position. The movement of said fabric (1) is made possible by the operation of a pull element (2) comprising a cable section (21), for example, coated steel, two pulleys (3), a frame (4) and a guide (41) for the cable.

[0013] According to the embodiment shown, a piece (5), for example made of plastic, is located at the top of the frame (4) for regulating and adjusting the tension of the cable (21). This adjustment and regulation piece (5) is shown in detail in Figure 2 and comprises a clamp (51) for fixing it to the frame (4) and a tensioner (52) for adjusting the tension of the cable (21), which are articulated to each other so that the clamp (51) can pivot relative to the tensioner (52).

[0014] In addition, the tensioner (52) comprises a wheel (53) that is attached to the end of the cable (21). This wheel (53), which is also shown in Figure 7, can be moved between an assembly position and a tensioning position, so that once the cable (21) is in place, the installer simply moves the wheel (53), for example, using an Allen key or a screwdriver, to achieve the desired tension of the cable (21). The tensioner (52) also comprises a ratchet (54), which contacts the wheel (53), to prevent the tensioner (52) from loosening during use. In this way, the installation of the pull element (2) and the adjustment of its tension is a simpler process than in conventional mosquito nets.

[0015] Additionally, to further facilitate installation, the frame (4) comprises a fixed profile (42) and a movable profile (43), as shown in Figure 3, allowing the inclination of the movable profile (43) to be adjusted relative to the fixed profile (42).

[0016] Figure 4 shows how the inclination of the movable profile (43) with respect to the fixed profile (42) is adjusted. This figure shows the lower part (44) of the movable profile (43), which can be moved with respect to the fixed profile (42), as indicated by the arrow in Figure 4. This displacement is adjusted by means of gears (45) that can be turned by inserting a tool, for example, a screwdriver or similar, into a housing (46), thus allowing the inclination between the movable profile (43) and the fixed profile (42) to be conveniently adjusted according to the requirements of the installation.

[0017] The pull element (2) comprises a cable section, for example, of coated steel (21), and a chain part (22). The cable section (21) is connected to the adjusting and regulating piece (5) and passes through the pulleys (3), while the chain part (22) slides through the guide (41) of the pull element (2).

[0018] The chain part (22) is formed by a set of links (23), one of which is shown in Figure 5, with its rounded projection (24). This rounded protrusion (24) is in contact with the guide (41), reducing friction between the two elements and decreasing the noise produced by the movement of the chain (22).

[0019] Figure 6 shows a second embodiment of the mosquito net according to the present invention. It is a double mosquito net, i.e., it comprises two guides (41) for the pull element (2). In this case, the mosquito net also comprises the adjusting and regulating piece (5) for the cable (21), which is double, i.e., it comprises two clamps and two tensioners, and is located at one end of the pull element (2), as shown in Figure 7. This type of product allows wide door and window spaces to be covered without the need for separate mosquito nets.

[0020] Although only two specific embodiments of the invention have been referred to, it is clear to a person skilled in the art that the mosquito net described is susceptible to numerous variations and modifications, and that all the details mentioned may be replaced by others that are technically equivalent, without departing from the scope of protection defined by the accompanying claims.
