[0001] The present invention relates to a hunting or sporting firearm according to the preamble of claim 1. A cheekpiece of the type mentioned at the outset is known, for example, from EP 4 180 758 A1, which is registered to the same applicant. The cheekpiece shown there is not symmetrical, i.e., it is designed differently on one side than on the other, which is associated with the disadvantage of more difficult handling.
