Description

Description Title: Device for fixing an object to be fixed on a support

[0001] The invention relates to the field of fixing devices for fixing an object such as a painting, a photographic frame or the like, to a support such as a wall, in a reversible manner. The invention relates more particularly to a fixing device of the hidden type, not visible, when the object to be fixed is attached to the support.

[0002] In this field, fixing devices have been proposed which include a curved strand-shaped fixing part receiving a nail or screw head, fixed to a mounting support. These fixing devices are unreliable and often unsightly.

[0003] Other systems offer fastening devices with complex shapes and contours. These types of devices are unsatisfactory because these fasteners are difficult not only to machine due to their complex shapes and contours, but also to quickly attach to the object to be fixed. The installation of these fastening devices in the object to be fixed, and the attachment of the object to the support are generally complex and tedious.

[0004] Documents DE 198 38 898 and US 3 460 209 each describe a fixing device comprising a cylindrical body having a deep orifice of a first diameter. The cylindrical body comprises a deep portion configured to be arranged towards a deep side of the object to be fixed, and a surface portion configured to be arranged towards a surface side of the object to be fixed, opposite the deep side. The fixing device also comprises a surface plate constituting the surface part of the cylindrical body. The surface plate comprises a surface orifice of a second diameter smaller than the first diameter, the surface orifice being arranged opposite the deep orifice.

[0005] Such a fixing device has many disadvantages.

[0006] Thus, it is difficult to position the cylindrical body inside the support so that the surface plate is flush with the support. This results in either the cylindrical body being inserted too deeply inside the support, or an emergence of the cylindrical body from the support causing a gap between the surface plate and the support which is particularly unsightly and can cause the cylindrical body to come loose and / or be extracted from the support, ultimately causing the object to be fixed to fall.

[0007] Furthermore, any roughness, any overflow of material, any bulge equipping the surface plate is detrimental to the maintenance of the object. Thus, the device described by document US 3,460,209 comprises a projecting shape delimiting a chamber. It is noted that the surface plate is interposed between the deep part and the chamber. The chamber constitutes an obstacle to the maintenance of the object to be fixed on the support, such a chamber emerging above the surface plate.

[0008] Thus, prior art fixing devices generally provide too large a separation gap between the support and the object to be fixed, so that the object is tilted downwards and forwards when it should be substantially vertical.

[0009] An aim of the present invention is to propose a fixing device which satisfactorily addresses the above-mentioned drawbacks and which is easy to manufacture in a factory, to install in an object to be fixed, to use without any particular reference point, and to adjust as closely as possible to the support.

[0010] To achieve this objective, the invention proposes a device for fixing an object to be fixed against a support comprising: - an annular cylindrical body comprising a deep orifice of a first diameter, the cylindrical body comprising a deep portion configured to be arranged towards a deep side, and a surface portion configured to be arranged towards a surface side opposite the deep side; - an annular surface plate secured to the surface part of the cylindrical body, the surface plate comprising a surface orifice with a second diameter smaller than the first diameter, the surface orifice being arranged opposite the deep orifice, the fixing device being configured to receive a nail, screw or rivet head inserted into the surface orifice, then the deep orifice, the fixing device fixing being configured so that the surface plate retains said head in the fixing device.

[0011] Advantageously, the surface plate is equipped with at least one radial projection. Such a radial projection extends in a first plane which is orthogonal to an axis of symmetry of the cylindrical body. The radial projection advantageously forms a stop against which the support is brought into contact when positioning the fixing device against the support.

[0012] This allows for additional options for attaching the fixing device to the object to be fixed, thanks to the fixing holes.

[0013] This allows for optimal positioning of the fixing device against the support.

[0014] This allows the object to be fixed to be positioned parallel or substantially parallel to the support.

[0015] This optimizes a level difference between the support and the fixing device which cannot penetrate inside the support entirely and which cannot emerge excessively above the support, a thickness of the radial projection being reduced to just necessary, typically less than one millimeter, and / or of the order of a millimeter to + / - 10%.

[0016] The "deep / shallow" orientation refers to the insertion of the fastener into the object. The deep side is toward the inside of the object, and the shallow side is toward the outside of the object.

[0017] Advantageously, the fixing device is easy to produce by machining, and to install in the object to be fixed. Its particularities are its rapid installation in two simple actions: drilling, and insertion of the fixing device (or insert) into the object to be fixed.

[0018] Its overall cylindrical shape allows for quick installation without any particular reference point during installation. Furthermore, the fixing device is invisible and offers a close fit to the support by adjusting the insertion of the screw in relation to the thickness of the surface plate.

[0019] The fixing device advantageously comprises at least one of the following technical characteristics, taken alone or in combination:

[0020] - the radial projection includes one or more fixing holes. This allows for optimal fixing of the fixing device to the support using screws or the like.

[0021] - the radial projection and the surface plate are arranged within the same first plane and have an external face which is smooth and free from protrusion.

[0022] - the radial projection constitutes a stop against the support, the radial projection comprising an internal face which is smooth and which is shaped to come into close contact with the support.

[0023] - the deep orifice is cylindrical and arranged around a first axis of symmetry.

[0024] - the superficial orifice is arranged around a second axis of symmetry.

[0025] - the first axis of symmetry and the second axis of symmetry are the same.

[0026] - the first axis of symmetry and the second axis of revolution are parallel and distinct.

[0027] - the superficial orifice is cylindrical.

[0028] - the surface orifice is shaped like a star.

[0029] - the cylindrical body has a flat external surface which may be rough. This allows the fixing device to be held firmly in the object to be fixed.

[0030] - said radial projection forms a disc or several lobes. The disc shape makes it possible to offer a radial projection that is easy to machine.

[0031] - the cylindrical body has an external surface with striking fixing structures. This provides a solid holding structure for the fixing device in the object to be fixed.

[0032] - the fixing device further comprises a deep plate secured to the deep part of the cylindrical body, the deep plate closing the orifice deep from the deep side. This allows the fixing device to be closed from the deep side.

[0033] - the cylindrical body has an external surface with a thread. This provides another structure for solidly holding the fixing device in the object to be fixed.

[0034] - the surface plate has a screwing aid. This allows the fixing device to be easily screwed into the object to be fixed.

[0035] - the deep plate has a screwing aid element. This makes it easy to screw the fixing device into the object to be fixed.

[0036] - the fixing device is made of metal or plastic material. This allows the use of materials that are easy to machine and obtain.

[0037] The invention further relates to an object to be fixed equipped with such a fixing device.

[0038] Another object of the invention relates to a method of fixing an object to a support, comprising steps for: - inserting a fixing device according to the invention into one of the object to be fixed and the support; - insert a nail, screw or rivet into the other between the object to be fixed and the support; - fix the object to the support by inserting the head of the nail, screw or rivet into the surface hole, then into the deep hole, so that the surface plate retains said head in the fixing device.

[0039] It is possible to consider inserting the fixing device into the support, but the preference is for the reverse arrangement (fixing device in the object to be fixed) with: - either the installation in the factory, in the object to be fixed, of a receiving surface receiving the fixing device, the insertion of the fixing device being able to be carried out by the user; - or the factory insertion of the fixing device into the object to be fixed.

[0040] The invention will be further detailed by the description of non-limiting embodiments, and on the basis of the appended figures, among which: - [Fig.1] illustrates a sectional view of a fixing device according to a first embodiment of the invention; - [Fig.2] illustrates a perspective view of the fixing device of figure 1; - [Fig.3] illustrates a sectional and top view of the fixing device according to a second embodiment; - [Fig.4] illustrates a perspective view of the fixing device according to a third embodiment; - [Fig.5] illustrates views of the fixing device according to different embodiments; - [Fig.6] illustrates a perspective view of the fixing device, according to another embodiment; - [Fig.7] illustrates a perspective view of the fixing device, according to another embodiment; - [Fig.8] illustrates insertions of the fixing devices into objects to be fixed; and - [Fig.9] illustrates a fixing of an object to be fixed equipped with its insertion device, to a support equipped with a fixing screw. [Fig.10] illustrates another variant embodiment of the fixing device. [Fig.11] illustrates another variant embodiment of the fixing device.

[0041] The invention relates to a rapid fixing system whose fixing variants offer a rapid and efficient machining solution depending on the type of objects to be fixed 100.

[0042] The variants of the fixing system and the different materials offered adapt to the desired strength for fixing the objects to be fixed 100.

[0043] A single fixing can be considered in an object to be fixed 100. In this case, the fixing device 1 is placed in the top center of the object to be fixed 100, and allows, thanks to gravity, perfect natural centering.

[0044] Multiple fixing can also be considered, i.e. two or more fixing devices 1 placed in the object to be fixed 100. This makes it possible to distribute the load of heavy objects and to avoid sagging along the length of bulky objects.

[0045] In the figures, now concerning the fixing device 1, it comprises a cylindrical body 2 which is annular. The cylindrical body 2 is arranged around an axis of symmetry A1. The cylindrical body 2 is configured to be arranged so that its axis of symmetry A1 is preferably substantially horizontal, in the position of use of the fixing device 1.

[0046] The cylindrical body 2 comprises a deep orifice 3 which is preferably cylindrical and which is delimited by a surface of revolution 4 arranged around the axis of symmetry A1 according to a first diameter D1.

[0047] The "deep / shallow" orientation refers to the insertion of the fixing device 1 into the object to be fixed 100, in opposite directions in an insertion direction. The deep side corresponds to that which is towards the inside of the object to be fixed 100, and the shallow side corresponds to that which is towards an external surface of the object to be fixed 100. In Figure 9, the deep side is oriented downwards, while the shallow side is oriented upwards.

[0048] The cylindrical body 2 comprises a deep portion configured to be arranged toward the deep side inside the object to be fixed 100, and a surface portion configured to be arranged toward the surface side at the surface of the object to be fixed 100, which will be affixed against a support 200 on which the object to be fixed 100 is to be attached by means of the fixing device 1.

[0049] According to the variant considered, the cylindrical body 2 may comprise a flat external surface 5 in contact with the object to be fixed 100. This is the case in the first embodiment illustrated in figures 1 and 2. This external surface 5 may also be rough (not illustrated). In this embodiment, the cylindrical body 2 may be arranged inside the object to be fixed 100 by being inserted therein by force.

[0050] In another variant, the cylindrical body 2 has an external surface 5 having striking fixing structures 6. This is the case in the second embodiment illustrated in Figures 3 and 4. These striking fixing structures 6 are inserted into the object to be fixed 100 and hold the fixing device 1 there. In use, a mallet 300, hammer or others, can be used to insert the fixing device 1 into the object to be fixed 100. This corresponds to the top left illustration of Figure 8.

[0051] In another variant, the cylindrical body 2 has an external surface 5 having a thread 7. This is the case in the third embodiment illustrated in figures 5 and 6.

[0052] The cylindrical body 2 may have a diameter of approximately 14 mm, or have a range between 5 mm and 20 mm, for an object to be fixed 100 having substantially the dimensions of an A4 sheet (excluding thickness).

[0053] The fixing device 1 further comprises a surface plate 8 which is annular. The surface plate 8 is integral with the surface part of the cylindrical body 2. More particularly, the surface plate 8 is arranged in a first plane P1 which is orthogonal to the axis of symmetry A1.

[0054] The surface plate 8 partially closes the deep orifice 3 on one superficial side. The surface plate 8 has a superficial orifice 9 measuring a second diameter D2 smaller than the first diameter D1.

[0055] According to one embodiment, the superficial orifice 9 is aligned with the deep orifice 3 so that the superficial orifice 9 and the deep orifice 3 are both cylindrical and have an axis of revolution coincident with the axis of symmetry A1.

[0056] The surface plate 8 advantageously comprises at least one radial projection 10 which comprises one or more fixing orifices 11. This radial projection 10 can form several lobes as is the case in the fourth embodiment illustrated in figure 7; or a disc as is the case in the fifth embodiment illustrated in figure 8.

[0057] The radial projection 10 advantageously extends in the first plane P1, such that no roughness, no material element of the fixing device 1 emerges from the surface plate 8 and / or from the radial projection 10. In other words, the surface plate 8 and the radial projection 10 jointly form a stop 12 which comprises an external face 13 which is flat. It is understood that the stop 12 comprises the external face 13 which is flat, smooth and free from roughness and an internal face 14 which is arranged opposite the cylindrical body 2.

[0058] Depending on the variant considered, the surface orifice 9 may comprise a screwing aid element 17. This is illustrated in the surface plate 8 on the right in FIG. 5. A screwdriver 400 or another suitable structure may be inserted into the screwing aid element 17 and turned to insert the fixing device 1 into the object to be fixed 100. The screwing aid element 17 may take the form of a groove fitted to the surface orifice 9.

[0059] The surface plate 8 may have the same diameter as the cylindrical body C. The surface orifice 9 may have a diameter of approximately 7 mm, or have a range between 3 mm and 18 mm.

[0060] The sections are to be adjusted according to the materials used, or the sizes of the objects to be fixed 100.

[0061] The fixing device 1 may further comprise a deep plate 15 secured to the deep part of the cylindrical body 2. The deep plate 15 closes the deep orifice 3 on the deep side.

[0062] Depending on the variant considered, the deep plate 15 may comprise a screwing aid means 16. This is illustrated in the deep plates 15 of Figure 5. The screwing aid means 16 may take the form of a groove shaped as a rectangle, a hexagon or a cross. A screwdriver 400 or another suitable structure may be inserted into the screwing aid relief 16 and turned to insert the fixing device 1 into the object to be fixed 100. This corresponds to the illustration on the right in Figure 8.

[0063] The invention works by means of a head 500 of a nail, screw or rivet inserted into a support 200.

[0064] In Figure 10, the first axis of symmetry A1 and the second axis of revolution A2 are parallel and distinct, such that the deep orifice 3 and the superficial orifice 9 are off-center with respect to each other.

[0065] In Figure 11, the surface orifice 9 is shaped like a star, in particular an eight-pointed star.

[0066] All combinations of the variants described individually above are possible. It should be noted in particular that the presence of one or more radial projections 10 apply to all cylindrical body variants 2 described above

[0067] According to the invention, the fixing device 1 is configured to receive said head 500 in the surface orifice 9, then the deep orifice 3. Furthermore, the fixing device 1 is dimensioned so that the surface plate 8 retains said head 500 in the fixing device 1.

[0068] The sizes of bodies 2, plates 8 and holes 9, 3 must be adjusted according to the heads 500 of nail, screw or rivet to be used.

[0069] The fixing device 1 may be made of metal or plastic material. For example, it is made of steel (galvanized, carbon, etc.), PVC, PU, PET, nylon, polyamide or other materials.

[0070] The invention also relates to an object to be fixed 100 comprising at least one fixing device 1 described previously.
