AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing methods for treating the brake discs of vehicles, particularly those with coated brake surfaces, are inefficient and lead to premature wear of the coating and the walz rolls due to high mechanical stress during the glazing process.

Method used

A process involving the sequential coating and glazing of both sides of brake discs using the same equipment, followed by transport between coating and glazing stations, to ensure uniformity and optimize material usage.

Benefits of technology

This process improves the manufacturing efficiency and surface quality of brake discs, reduces material waste, and extends the lifespan of both the brake discs and the glazing equipment.

Abstract

A method for coating and deep rolling brake discs (B) is illustrated and described, comprising the following steps: b) providing a device (V5) for coating brake discs (B), d) providing a device (V7) for deep rolling the coated brake discs (B), e) providing a device (1) for transporting brake discs (B), i) coating the first side of the brake disc (B), j) coating the second side of the brake disc (B), and k) deep rolling both sides of the coated brake disc (B), wherein the brake discs (B) are transported by the transport device (1) at least between the device (V5) for coating brake discs (B) and the device (V7) for deep rolling the coated brake discs (B). In order to solve the problem, it is proposed that steps i) and j) are carried out successively on the same device (V5) for coating brake discs (B).
