Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: POWERED VENTILATION DEVICE, INDIVIDUALLY PORTABLE, WITH IMPROVED AIR DISTRIBUTION
[0001] The present invention relates to the general technical field of powered air-purifying respirators, such as, in particular, powered air-purifying respirators. More particularly, the invention relates to a powered air-purifying respirator that is individually portable, that is to say, portable by a user.
[0002] Assisted ventilation devices are already known, designed to deliver a forced airflow to a user to provide respiratory assistance. These devices typically include a mask with an air outlet, intended to be held against the user's face, covering their nose and mouth, for example, by means of elastic bands placed around the user's head. The mask is connected to a blower unit containing a fan via a flexible air hose. Although described as "non-invasive," such a device is relatively restrictive for the user. The user cannot easily carry it, put it on, and use it outside their home or a specific healthcare setting without assistance. These known devices are therefore generally intended for stationary use, typically under professional medical supervision..
[0003] Air filtration devices with forced ventilation are also known. These devices are designed to deliver a forced airflow to a user, drawn from ambient air that has been pre-filtered to remove at least some pollutants. More specifically, such devices are designed to provide respiratory protection for their users by limiting their inhalation of respiratory pollutants, fine particles, and other substances with potentially harmful health effects present in the surrounding air. Such air filtration devices with forced ventilation typically include an air inlet, a fan to generate a forced airflow from ambient air drawn from the immediate environment, one or more filters to filter the drawn air, and an air outlet through which a forced and filtered airflow can be delivered to the user. The air outlet is typically arranged on a section of a mask that fits over the lower face, covering the nose and mouth, or on a helmet designed to completely enclose the head. Such powered air-purifying respirators (PAPRs) aim to overcome several drawbacks of passive personal respiratory protective equipment, such as conventional filtering facepiece respirators. Examples include full-face filtering masks, which cover the entire face, and half-masks, which only cover the lower portion of the user's face, including the nose and mouth. These passive personal respiratory protective devices are also called "free-ventilating" because air passes through the filter solely due to the user's own breathing. Although designed to be worn by users and to accompany them during work activities, for example, such powered air-purifying respirators are generally bulky, uncomfortable to use, difficult to store and transport, and complex to put on correctly for a user unfamiliar with them. This is why these well-known devices are generally intended for the protection of users in a professional context, for example for the personal protection of workers and technicians, firefighters, military personnel, etc.
[0004] Whether or not they provide an air filtration function, the aforementioned powered air-purifying respirators are generally designed to be at least partially attached to the user's head and to partially or completely cover the user's face. These known devices can therefore impair the user's visibility and / or communication with their personal or professional surroundings. By partially obscuring the user's face, these devices can also interfere with the proper functioning of electronic facial recognition systems, such as those found in telephones or computers. Furthermore, their use is sometimes incompatible with the simultaneous wearing of glasses, head coverings (hats, beanies, helmets, etc.), over- or over-ear headphones (audio or hearing protection), etc., or the application of makeup.
[0005] Thus, individually portable, powered air-purifying respirators (PAPRs) designed to minimize facial obstruction have recently been introduced. Operating in an open system, without the need for a face mask, half-mask, or helmet to create a seal against the surrounding air, these new PAPRs are designed to blow filtered air towards the user's face. While they offer the advantage of being more comfortable to wear and less obstructive, these new PAPRs can still be improved, particularly in terms of air distribution to the user's respiratory tract. Indeed, they do not always allow for optimal airflow direction towards the user's respiratory tract. These devices are therefore relatively ineffective because, due to imperfect air distribution by the device, the user breathes a significant amount of unfiltered ambient air mixed with filtered air.
[0006] The objects assigned to the invention are therefore intended to provide a response to the aforementioned problems, by proposing in particular a new individually portable assisted ventilation device which, while being particularly easy and pleasant to use, ensures optimal distribution of airflow to the user.

[0030] [Fig. 17] illustrates, in perspective view, the air distribution element according to the variant of [Fig. 16], the porous medium having been omitted so as to show the airflow straightening fins.
[0031] The invention relates to a powered air-purifying respirator 1, individually portable, that is to say, portable on the person of a user (human or possibly animal). It is therefore advantageously an active respiratory device designed and configured to be worn by a user, human or animal, and to deliver to that user a forced airflow F from ambient air. Preferably, it is a device 1 intended for use in a domestic setting and / or in the course of carrying out a professional activity, by a user who lacks specific professional skills in respiratory health.
[0032] The device 1 according to the invention comprises a main body 2, at least partially annular, intended to be worn around the neck (Figures 1 and 2) or head by a user (or "wearer"). Said main body 2 is therefore intended to be worn around a portion of the user's body formed by the user's neck or head. The main body 2 of the device 1 thus has, in particular, a shape and mass advantageously adapted for being worn by the user around their neck, or respectively, their head. For the purposes of this definition, "annular" means that the main body 2 advantageously has a ring shape, substantially oval or circular, or even rectangular. For the purposes of this definition, "partially annular" means a shape open up to a quarter turn of the ring, which, if it were continuous, would then be annular.Such a shape, at least partially annular, of the main body 2 of the device 1 contributes to excellent ergonomics and great comfort in use of the device 1. Preferably, as in the embodiment illustrated in the figures, said main body 2 is more specifically intended for . (and therefore more specifically designed and configured to) be worn around the user's neck. In particular, the at least partially annular shape of the main body 2 of the device 1 facilitates not only the donning but also the wearing of the main body 2 by the user around their neck, as the main body 2 can optionally rest at least partially on the user's shoulders once in place. Wearing the device 1 is thus particularly comfortable for the user, whose hands can advantageously remain free, the main body 2 of the device 1 advantageously accompanying the user's movements without hindering or significantly impeding them.
[0033] The main body 2 of the device 1 includes a central front element 3, that is to say an element which is intended to be positioned at the front of the body (and in particular the neck or the head) of the user, advantageously in a substantially centered manner along a vertical axis (or at least orthogonal to a transverse plane of the user) included in a median sagittal plane Ps of the user), when the main body 2 is worn around the neck (figures 1 and 2) or the head by the user. The main body 2 of the device 1 further includes at least two support arms 4, which are connected to said central front element 3, preferably on either side of the latter, said support arms 4 being configured to sufficiently surround the neck (Figures 1 and 2) or the head of the user in order to ensure support of the main body 2 around the neck or, respectively, the head of the user.Fitting the device 1 around the user's neck or head is particularly easy, since it does not require precise adjustment of the main body 2 of the device 1, but only involves checking that the central front element 3 is correctly positioned at the front of the user's neck, or head respectively, advantageously in a substantially centered manner.
[0034] Advantageously, the central front element 3 has a front face 5, which is oriented outwards from the main body 2 and is intended to face forward when the user is using the device 1. The front face 5 advantageously defines a portion of the visible external surface of the main body 2 (in particular Figures 1 and 2). The central front element 3 advantageously has a rear face 6 opposite said front face 5. The rear face 6 is oriented inwards from the main body 2, and therefore facing the body of the user when using the device 1. Said rear face 6 advantageously defines a portion of the visible internal surface of the main body 2, at least when the latter is not being worn by the user.Conversely, each of the support arms 4 has an external face 7, which is oriented outwards from the main body 2 and which advantageously defines another portion of the visible external surface of the main body 2, and an opposing internal face 8. Oriented inwards from the main body 2, and therefore facing the user's body. In use of the device 1, the inner face 8 advantageously defines another portion of the visible inner surface of the main body 2, at least when the latter is not being worn by the user. The rear face 6 of the front central element 3 and the inner faces 8 of the support arms 4 advantageously have a preferably curved, concave profile, with the concavity oriented towards a free space 9 defined at the center of the main body 2. In use of the device 1, the free space 9 is at least partially occupied by the neck or head of the user, the inner surface of the main body 2 then being oriented towards the neck or head of the user.Advantageously, in the preferred case where the main body 2 is intended to be worn around the neck, the main body 2 is dimensioned so that its inner surface is not in close, immediate contact with the user's neck when the user is wearing the device 1, but rather there is some clearance between the skin of the user's neck and said inner surface, at least around part of the perimeter of the free space 9 in the center of the main body 2 of the device 1 ([Fig. 2]). The wearing comfort of the device 1 is thus further improved by reducing the risk of a feeling of constriction for the user. This also advantageously allows the user to wear the device 1 in combination with a scarf wrapped around their neck, for example, in winter.Advantageously unique, that is, constituting a single, coherent subset of the main body 2, the front central element 3 of the main body 2 of the device 1 comprises at least one air inlet 10 and a fan 11 (or "motor-fan assembly") for generating a (forced) airflow F. The front central element 3 typically includes a housing 12, an external surface of which advantageously defines an external envelope of the front central element 3 and, in particular, its front 5 and rear 6 faces. The housing 12, within which the fan 11 is advantageously arranged, carries or defines said air inlet 10.The fact, in particular, that the fan 11 is thus integrated within the central front element 3, and not separated from it, for example within a lateral or rear element of the main body 2, advantageously contributes to the comfort and stability of wearing the main body 2 of the device 1 around the user's neck or head, especially when the user is moving. Advantageously, as in the embodiment illustrated in the figures, the main body 2 may include a protective grille 13 for the air inlet 10 of the central front element 3, said protective grille being perforated with a plurality of through holes 14.
[0035] The device 1 according to the invention comprises, in addition to said main body 2, an air distribution element 15 which includes an air distribution outlet 16 configured to blow the airflow F generated by the fan 11 towards the respiratory tract (nose and / or mouth) of the user. Connected in an air-communication with the front central element 3, the air distribution element 15 advantageously constitutes, or at the very least defined, an air diffuser to diffuse the airflow F towards the user's respiratory tract. In use of the device 1, the air inlet 10 of the central front element 3, the fan 11 and the air distribution outlet 16 are in aerodynamic communication, so that the fan 11 in operation draws in ambient air external to the device 1 through the air inlet 10 in order to blow it towards the air distribution outlet 16. As illustrated by example in Figures 1 and 2, the air distribution outlet 16 is designed and configured to be opposite and away from the airways, centered along a vertical axis (or at least along an axis orthogonal to a transverse plane of the user) included in the median sagittal plane Ps of the user, in order to allow a particularly precise and efficient distribution of air towards the user's airways. In the preferred case where the main body 2 is intended to be worn around the neck, the air distribution outlet 16 is preferably designed and configured to direct the forced airflow F generated by the fan 11 in an average upward or horizontal direction towards the user's airways. As illustrated in the figures, the device 1 is advantageously free of any part or element intended, i.e., specifically designed and configured, to come into direct contact with the user's face (and in particular with the cheeks, chin, eyes, mouth and / or nose), in particular to guide the airflow F distributed by the air distribution outlet 16 and / or to ensure an airtight seal between the air distribution outlet 16 and the user's airways.Device 1 is therefore designed and configured to be worn by the user without contact between Device 1 and the user's face. Wearing Device 1 is thus particularly comfortable and minimally obstructive for the user.
[0036] According to the invention, the air distribution outlet 16 of the air distribution element 15 comprises an air outlet opening 16A (or air outlet orifice), preferably a single one, which is generally ovoid or trapezoidal in shape having a longitudinal axis of symmetry X-X' which is oriented to be arranged coplanar to the median sagittal plane Ps of the user in use of the device 1 ([Fig. 1]). Advantageously, the term "generally ovoid" means that the contour of the air outlet opening 16A, viewed in projection in a plane, has the general shape of an egg in longitudinal section, extending along said longitudinal axis of symmetry X-X' between a rounded base (or larger base) and an opposite rounded apex (or smaller base), the rounded base having a greater width than the rounded apex.Respectively, a "general trapezoidal shape" is advantageously understood to mean that the outline of the air outlet opening 16A, viewed in projection onto a plane, has the general shape of a trapezoid, and more specifically, the general shape of an isosceles trapezoid. The outline of the outlet opening. Air outlet 16A thus takes the general form of a convex quadrilateral with two parallel opposite sides, extending along the longitudinal axis of symmetry X-X' between a larger base and a smaller base, with two angles adjacent to the same base being equal. This is a "general" trapezoidal shape, in particular because, as shown in the figures, the angles of the trapezoidal shape are advantageously rounded, so as to connect two adjacent angles with a curve of concavity oriented towards the center of the air outlet 16A.Advantageously, the air distribution element 15 is designed and configured so that, in use of the device 1, the air outlet opening 16A is positioned opposite the user's respiratory tract, with a large base (rounded base of the generally ovoid shape or large base of the generally trapezoidal shape) of the air outlet opening 16A being arranged at a lower altitude than a respective altitude of the small base (rounded apex of the generally ovoid shape or small base of the generally trapezoidal shape) of the air outlet opening 16A. Thus, the large base of the air outlet opening 16A is advantageously positioned opposite the user's mouth, while the small base of the air outlet opening 16A is advantageously positioned opposite the user's nose and nostrils.Defined by a peripheral edge 16B, which thus delimits a contour of general ovoid or trapezoidal shape, said air outlet opening 16A has a free area (useful section) of between 10 cm2 and 42 cm2. The air distribution outlet 16 of the air distribution element 15 further includes a porous medium 17 for homogenizing the airflow F which covers (entirely) said air outlet opening 16A, that is to say an air-permeable element which is intended to homogenize the airflow F exiting through said air outlet opening 16A, and which is arranged opposite (or in) said air outlet opening 16A so as to close, to occupy, the latter in a non-airtight manner said airflow F. The porous medium 17 is advantageously distinct from the air outlet opening 16A, to which said porous medium 17 is related. For example, the porous medium 17 can be arranged to overlap said air outlet opening 16A, said porous medium 17 being secured to the peripheral edge 16B of the air outlet opening 16A, for example by gluing or welding.
[0037] Such a particular combination of characteristics of the air distribution element 15 gives the device 1 according to the invention high efficiency and, in particular, excellent aerodynamic properties with regard to the distribution of the airflow F to the user. Indeed, the fact that the air outlet opening 16A has a generally ovoid or trapezoidal shape with a longitudinal axis of symmetry X-X' oriented to be arranged coplanar to the median sagittal plane Ps of the user when using the device 1, and a free area of between 10 cm² and 42 cm², allows to optimize the quantity of air distributed by device 1 towards the user's respiratory tract and actually inhaled by the user, while device 1 operates as an open system, i.e., without a sealing element between the air distribution outlet 16 of the air distribution element 15 and the user's respiratory tract. It has been observed that the implementation of the porous medium 17 covering the air outlet opening 16A of the air distribution outlet 16 of the air distribution element 15 allows for a particularly effective homogenization of the blown airflow F, especially in terms of the velocity profile of said airflow F at the outlet of the air distribution element 15, by inducing a controlled aerodynamic pressure drop. While the aim is generally to limit aerodynamic pressure losses within air circuits, device 1 of the invention thus implements, on the contrary, a porous medium 17 designed to intentionally generate an additional controlled pressure loss at the outlet of device 1. It is thus possible to direct and distribute in a particularly efficient and precise manner a large quantity of forced air towards the user's respiratory tract from the air distribution opening 16A which is arranged at a distance from said respiratory tract, with a minimum of disturbance from any ambient air currents external to device 1.In use of the device 1, while the air distribution outlet 16 of the air distribution element 15 is typically arranged at an average distance of between 0.5 cm and 15 cm, and more preferably between 1 cm and 6 cm, from the user's airways, between 80% and 100% (and preferably at least 90%) of the air inhaled by the user can thus advantageously come from the forced airflow F generated and blown by the device 1. In the preferred case which will be described later, in which the device 1 is more specifically a powered air filtration device 1, between 80% and 100%, and preferably at least 90% of the air inhaled by the user can thus advantageously come from the forced purified airflow F generated and blown by the device 1.
[0038] In order to further optimize the distribution of the airflow F towards the user's respiratory tract while further limiting, on the one hand, the disturbances that may be generated by an ambient air current external to the device 1, and on the other hand, any potential discomfort felt when wearing the device 1, said device 1 is preferably designed and configured to ensure that the air distribution outlet 16 is positioned at an average distance from the user's respiratory tract of between 0.5 cm and 15 cm, and preferably between 1 cm and 6 cm. Typically, such a positioning distance can be ensured by appropriately sizing the main body 2 of the device 1, and in particular its support arms 4, as well as the air distribution element 15. Preferably, the free area of the air outlet opening 16A is more precisely between 10 cm² and 35 cm², and more preferably between 15 cm² and 30 cm². Advantageously, the air outlet opening 16A has a maximum height Hlmax, considered along the longitudinal axis of symmetry X-X' of the air outlet opening 16A, which is between 4 cm and 7 cm, and a maximum width Llmax, considered along a direction orthogonal to the longitudinal axis of symmetry X-X', which is between 3 cm and 6 cm, preferably between 4 cm and 5 cm. For example, the air outlet opening 16A has a free area of approximately 20 cm², a maximum height Hlmax of 5.7 cm, and a maximum width Llmax of 4.5 cm. Such sizing makes it possible to further improve the distribution of the air flow F, in particular in the aforementioned ranges of average distance between the air distribution outlet 16 and the respiratory tract, while allowing a relatively compact sizing of the air distribution element 15.
[0039] The porous media 17 is preferably designed and configured to apply to the airflow F generated by the fan 11, and reaching the air outlet opening 16A, an aerodynamic pressure drop of between 5 Pa and 80 Pa, and preferably between 15 Pa and 20 Pa, which allows optimal homogenization of the velocity profile of the airflow F exiting the user's respiratory tract. Such an impact in terms of pressure loss can be easily characterized by comparing aerodynamic performance measurements of the device 1 carried out with and without porous media 17 in the air outlet opening 16A of the air distribution element 15. Typically, the level of aerodynamic pressure loss induced by the porous media 17 can depend on the thickness of the porous media 17 to be traversed by the air flow F, the surface area of the porous media 17, the dimensions of the pores or meshes or even the porosity (or void ratio) of the porous media 17.
[0040] Preferably, said porous medium 17 has a porosity of between 28% and 45%. Advantageously, particularly with regard to design simplicity and manufacturing cost, said porous medium 17 comprises at least one piece of fabric (woven or non-woven), preferably with a constant mesh size. Even more advantageously, said porous medium 17 comprises two pieces of fabric arranged one behind the other in the direction of airflow F, and preferably arranged superimposed and pressed against each other. Preferably, said pieces of fabric have an identical mesh size. It has been observed that such an arrangement of two pieces of fabric advantageously further improves the homogenization of the airflow F at the outlet of the air distribution element 15.For example, the porous medium 17 may comprise two identical pieces of fabric, each having a mesh that defines a void percentage of 36%, said mesh being formed by interlacing warp and weft yarns of a diameter of 0.100 mm, with a mesh width. 0.150 mm. Preferably, the piece(s) of fabric are metallic, and even more preferably stainless steel. This gives the porous medium 17 very good mechanical strength, and in particular very good resistance to tearing and perforation during use, transport, and maintenance of the device. However, other materials could be considered alternatively, such as paper or fabric (made from natural or synthetic fibers).
[0041] Advantageously, the front central element 3 of the main body 2 includes an air outlet 18, separate from the air distribution outlet 16 of the air distribution element 15. The housing 12 advantageously carries or defines said air outlet 18. The air inlet 10 of the front central element 3, the fan 11, and the air outlet 18 are in aerodynamic communication, such that the fan 11, when operating, draws ambient air external to the device 1 through said air inlet 10 in order to blow it towards the air outlet 18. The air distribution element 15 advantageously includes an internal air duct 19 to guide the airflow F generated by the fan 11 towards the air distribution outlet 16.Typically, the air distribution element 15 further includes an air inlet 20, the internal air duct 19 extending from the air distribution element 15 on the one hand through the air inlet 20, and on the other hand through the air outlet 16A of the air distribution outlet 16. In use of the device 1, the air distribution element 15 is thus assembled to the front central element 3 to ensure an air connection between the air outlet 18 of the front central element 3 and the air distribution outlet 16 of the air distribution element 15. Preferably, as in the embodiment illustrated in the figures, the front central element 3 of the device 1 includes a single fan 11 (or fan motor assembly), in air connection with a single air inlet 10 and with a single air outlet 18, via a single internal air duct defined within the central front element 3.However, in less advantageous variants in terms of simplicity of aerodynamic design, the central front element 3 of the device 1 could comprise a plurality of fans in aerodynamic communication, on the one hand each with the same single air inlet or each with a corresponding separate air inlet and, on the other hand each with the air outlet 18 of the central front element 3. .
[0042] According to a preferred embodiment, implemented in the embodiment illustrated in the figures, the air distribution element 15 is assembled to the front central element 3 in a retractable or removable manner to ensure air communication between the air outlet 18 of the front central element 3 and said air distribution outlet 16. In other words, the device 1 is therefore preferably designed and configured so that the air distribution element 15 can move between: - a first, functional position, in which the air distribution element 15 is assembled to the front central element 3 and ensures an aero-communication of the air outlet 18 of the front central element 3 with the air distribution outlet 16 of the air distribution element 15 (figures 1, 2 and 3 in particular), and - a second, non-functional position (or detached / retracted position), in which the air distribution element 15 does not ensure an aero-communication of the air outlet 18 of the front central element 3 with the air distribution outlet 16 of the air distribution element 15 (figures 5 and 7).
[0043] According to this preferred embodiment, the device 1 is advantageously designed and configured so that the passage of the air distribution element 15 from said first position to said second position can therefore be achieved: - either by separation, detachment, of the air distribution element 15 and the central front element 3, according to a preferred sub-variant implemented in the embodiment illustrated in the figures (removable assembly), - either by retracting the air distribution element 15 relative to the front central element 3, according to a sub-variant not shown. In this variant, the air distribution element 15 can, for example, be designed and configured to retract inside the front central element 3, or to be folded against the latter, to move from the first position to the second position.
[0044] Conversely, the device 1 is advantageously designed and configured so that the passage of the air distribution element 15, from said second position to said first position, can therefore be achieved by assembling, attaching, the air distribution element 15 and the front central element 3, or respectively by unclipping the air distribution element 15 from the front central element 3. Such a removable or retractable character of the air distribution element 15 further advantageously improves the ergonomic, easy and pleasant character of the device 1.Indeed, this allows the user to detach or retract the air distribution element 15, typically when the device 1 is not in use, in order to free up more space in front of their face, for example, to eat, drink, or talk more easily, without necessarily having to detach or remove the main body 2 of the device 1, which they wear around their neck or head. When the user wishes to use the device 1 again, they simply reposition the air distribution element 15 in its original functional position. The removable or retractable nature of the air distribution element 15 also allows for easier storage of the device 1 after use, with a smaller footprint.
[0045] According to the advantageous sub-variant mentioned above, the air distribution element 15 is removably assembled to the front central element 3, so that these The latter can therefore be advantageously completely separated from one another by the user (i.e., they can be detached from each other, so as to retain no residual physical connection between them). This facilitates, in particular, the maintenance, repair, and cleaning of the device 1, as the air distribution element 15 can thus be detached for washing or disposal after use, or replaced with another air distribution element 15 if it becomes worn. It also becomes possible to consider that the main body 2 of the device 1 can be used successively by multiple users, for example, by several members of the same family, each user then being able to advantageously use the main body 2 in combination with an air distribution element 15 adapted to their particular physique and / or needs.Conversely, it becomes possible to design, manufacture and distribute at a lower cost a device 1 easily adaptable to a wide range of users, since the device 1 can thus include a "generic" main body 2, which can be used with a whole range of different and interchangeable air distribution elements 15.
[0046] In order to allow a simple and quick manual reversible assembly (i.e. without recourse to a tool external to the device 1) of the air distribution element 15 to the front central element 3, the device 1 may advantageously include, as in the embodiment illustrated in the figures, means for assembling the air distribution element 15 to said front central element 3 which cooperate magnetically to maintain the air distribution element 15 assembled to the front central element 3, in said first position, and thus ensure the aerodynamic communication of the air outlet 18 of the front central element 3 with said air distribution outlet 16.For example, said assembly means (or magnetic removable assembly means) may include, on the one hand, one or more permanent magnets arranged within the air distribution element 15, typically in the immediate vicinity of a base 23 of the latter, and on the other hand one or more other permanent magnets arranged within the front central element 3, typically in the immediate vicinity of the upper face 21 of the latter, so that said magnets cooperate magnetically to ensure that the air distribution element 15 is held together with the front central element 3, typically via said base 23.Alternatively, the device 1 could include means for removable assembly of the air distribution element 15 to the front central element 3 by force fitting, by direct screwing of the air distribution element 15 to the front central element 3, by quarter-turn assembly or by reversible elastic fitting (clipping).
[0047] Preferably, in the preferred case where the main body 2 is intended to be worn around the neck as in the embodiment illustrated in the figures, the dis element The air distribution 15 is arranged to project from an upper face 21 of the front central element 3, that is to say, to project from at least a portion of a face of the latter which is intended to be oriented upwards in use of the device 1, and which advantageously connects the front faces 5 and rear faces 6 of the front central element 3. In this case, the air outlet 18 of the front central element 3 is advantageously supported by (defined by, arranged on or provided in) said upper face 21 of the front central element 3. This facilitates the design of the device 1, and allows an optimal arrangement of the air distribution element 15 with respect to the user's respiratory tract.Furthermore, this advantageously permits easy assembly / disassembly or retraction / unretraction of the air distribution element 15 by the user even when the latter is wearing the main body 2 of the device 1 around his neck or head, in the preferential case where the air distribution element 15 is assembled to the front central element 3 in a retractable or removable manner.
[0048] Advantageously, as illustrated in the figures, the air distribution element 15 extends vertically along a Y-Y' axis of average extension which is preferably substantially orthogonal to a transverse plane PI of the main body 3 of the device 1, between, on the one hand, a lower end 22 which defines said base 23, which carries the air intake inlet 20, and at which level the air distribution element 15 is connected (or at least intended to be connected) aeraulically to the air outlet 18 of the front central element 3 and, on the other hand, an opposite upper end 24. In use of the device 1, the Y-Y' axis of average extension of the air distribution element 15 is advantageously intended to be included in the median sagittal plane Ps of the user (Figures 1 and 2).Advantageously, the air outlet 16A of the air distribution element 15 lies in a mid-plane P2 which forms an angle between 0° and 15°, and preferably between 3° and 10°, with a line D parallel to the mid-extension axis Y-Y' of the air distribution element 15 ([Fig. 9]). The longitudinal axis of symmetry X-X' of the air outlet 16A of the air distribution outlet 16 is advantageously in the mid-plane P2, or parallel to said mid-plane P2. This optimizes the arrangement of the air outlet 16A with respect to the user's respiratory tract, and in particular their mouth.
[0049] The air distribution element 15 advantageously has a hollow shape, i.e., a cavity, which defines said internal air duct 19 for guiding air from the air intake inlet 20 to the air distribution outlet 16, and which is preferably generally convergent from said lower end 22 to said upper end 24. Advantageously, the air distribution element 15 comprises an airtight front face 25, oriented towards the outside of the device 1 and towards the front of the user operating the device 1, and which connects the lower end 22 to the upper end 24. Advantageously, the air distribution element 15 comprises a rear face 26 opposite said front face 25, said front face 25 and rear face 26 being advantageously connected to each other by their respective edges. Advantageously, the rear face 26 of the air distribution element 15 carries or defines said air distribution outlet 16. For example, as in the embodiment illustrated in the figures, the air outlet opening 16A of the air distribution outlet 16 is defined by an orifice formed directly in said rear face 26. The upper end 24 of the air distribution element 15 is advantageously closed, airtight.
[0050] As illustrated in the examples in the figures, the air distribution element 15 preferably comprises a shell 27 which carries the air distribution outlet 16. The shell 27 advantageously defines the base 23, the front face 25, and the rear face 26 of the air distribution element 15. The shell 27 is advantageously rigid, that is to say, substantially devoid of plasticity and substantially not elastically deformable manually by the user, so as in particular to give the air distribution element 15 high robustness in use. For example, the shell 27 is made of plastic. Preferably, the shell 27 of the air distribution element 15 is transparent or translucent, at least locally and preferably predominantly if not totally, so as to limit the visual obscuring of the user's face by the device 1 during its use.Advantageously, such a transparent or translucent shell 27 can act as a visor and windscreen.
[0051] In the preferred case where the main body 2 is intended to be worn around the neck, the air distribution element 15 being advantageously arranged projecting from the upper face 21 of the front central element 3 as mentioned above, the air distribution element 15 extends projecting from the front central element 3 to a maximum height H2max preferably between 30 mm and 100 mm, more preferably between 40 mm and 80 mm, and for example 59 mm or 70 mm. Advantageously, said maximum height H2max corresponds to the greatest length of the air distribution element 15, measured along its average extension axis Y-Y'.Such sizing advantageously allows the air distribution outlet 16 to be defined so that it ensures optimal blowing of the airflow F towards the user's respiratory tract, while still allowing the central front element 3 to be positioned as far away as possible from the user's face, which contributes to great wearing comfort of the device 1. In the case where the air distribution element 15 is removably assembled to the central front element 3, the same main body 2 can thus be advantageously associated alternatively with air distribution elements 15 of maximum height H2max. different, to best adapt to the device 1 to the user's morphology.
[0052] Preferably, when the main body 2 is intended to be worn around the neck by the user, the air inlet 10 of the front central element 3 is arranged at a lower altitude than the respective altitude of the air distribution outlet 16 (and therefore of the air outlet opening 16A) of the air distribution element 15, as in the relationship illustrated in the figures, at least when the main body 2 of the device 1 is positioned around the user's neck. Such an arrangement advantageously limits the aerodynamic pressure losses inside the device 1 and thus reduces the power required by the fan motor 11, thereby limiting the nuisances, particularly noise, associated with wearing a motor near the user's head. Furthermore, using a lower-power motor reduces the energy consumption of the device 1 and thus increases its operating time.Conversely, if the main body 2 is intended to be worn around the head by the user, the air inlet 10 is preferably arranged at a higher altitude than the respective altitude of the air distribution outlet 16. Advantageously, as illustrated by example in Figures 1 to 10, the air inlet 10 of the front central element 3 is located on the front face 5 of the front central element 3. The air inlet 10 is therefore located on (defined by, arranged on, or provided in) a face of the front central element 3 which, as already mentioned above, is arranged towards the outside of the main body 2 of the device 1 and is intended to be oriented towards the front of the user when using the device 1. This allows, in particular, a simple and efficient aerodynamic design of the device 1, as well as the definition of a good overall aesthetic for the latter. .
[0053] Optionally, said air distribution element 15 may include one or more airflow straightening fins 28, which are arranged inside the internal air duct 19 of said air distribution element 15. The implementation of such airflow straightening fins 28 may advantageously further improve the distribution of the airflow F towards the user's respiratory tract. For example, as in the variant of the air distribution element 15 illustrated in Figures 16 and 17, the air distribution element 15 may include a series of airflow straightening fins 28 arranged in the internal air duct 19 in the vicinity of the air outlet opening 16A, immediately upstream of the porous medium 17 (not shown in Figures 16 and 17).Advantageously, the fins 28 are arranged parallel to each other and orthogonally to the average extension Y-Y' axis of the air distribution element 15 to homogenize the distribution of the airflow F along a direction parallel to said average extension Y-Y' axis. Alternatively or complementarily, the air distribution element 15 may include a series of straightening fins. of the airflow F arranged in the internal air duct 19 in the vicinity of the air intake inlet 17 of the air distribution element 15 to straighten the airflow F entering the latter. Alternatively or in addition, the front central element 3 could include a series of airflow straightening fins arranged in the air outlet 18 or in its immediate vicinity (for example, inside a discharge opening of the fan 11), so as to improve the distribution of the airflow F exiting the fan 11 before said airflow F enters the air distribution element 15.
[0054] According to a preferred embodiment, as illustrated in the figures, the device 1 is more specifically a forced-air handling unit 1, and more preferably a forced-air filtration unit 1. In other words, the device 1 is therefore designed and configured to deliver to the user a flow F of treated, and preferably filtered, purified, and forced air from ambient air. As such, the device 1 advantageously comprises an air filtration device 29, typically including one or more air filters, or is at least specifically designed and configured for use in combination with such an air filtration device 29.Preferably at least partially removable to facilitate maintenance or replacement, the air filtration device 29 is advantageously arranged inside the central front element 3, between the air inlet 10 and the air outlet 18 where applicable, upstream and / or downstream of the fan 11 taking into account the direction of air circulation within the device 1. For example, the air filtration device 29 may include one or more air filter(s) 30 advantageously arranged between the air inlet 10 and the fan 11, as in the embodiment illustrated in the figures, which also helps to limit the risk of fouling of the fan 11.The role of the air filtration device 29 is to separate from the surrounding ambient air, and to retain or destroy, one or more undesirable substances or particles present in suspension, solid form, or as aerosols in the surrounding ambient air, so that the forced airflow F delivered by the device 1 to the user is preferably significantly reduced in the undesirable substances or particles initially present in the surrounding ambient air. Examples of solid particles include dust, fumes, and solid atmospheric pollutants. The term "aerosol" here refers preferably to a collection of fine particles, solid or liquid, of a substance or mixture of substances, suspended in a gaseous medium, and which generally have a negligible settling velocity, less than 0.25 m / s. In ambient air, under normal conditions, this typically corresponds to particles with dimensions smaller than 100 µm.This definition covers aerosols containing particles of microbial origin (viruses, bacteria, fungi, etc.), animal or even plant origin (pollen, allergens, etc.). also called bioaerosols. The air filtration device 30 is designed and configured, typically in terms of filter selection, according to the required filtration performance level for one or more substances to be filtered. Preferably, the air filtration device 29 of the apparatus 1 is designed and configured to retain aerosols. It advantageously includes one or more air filters for this purpose, in particular one or more class PI and / or class P2 filters, as defined notably in the French standards NF EN 143:2000 and NF EN 143 / A1:2006, which stop at least 80% of aerosols (class PI) or at least 94% of aerosols (class P2). Preferably, these are HEPA filters (i.e., so-called "High-Efficiency Particulate Air" filters). The designation HEPA applies to any device capable of filtering, in one pass, at least 99.97% of particles with a diameter greater than or equal to 0.3 pm.The air filtration device 29 may include several identical or different air filters 30, such as, for example, an activated carbon filter arranged upstream of a HEPA filter, or two HEPA filters arranged one behind the other. Other filters may also be considered, depending on the nature of the particles or substances to be filtered, and the corresponding expected level of filtration performance, such as, for example, polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) or ceramic filters. Optionally, the device 1 may include a particle sensor and a fan speed control device 11, connected to said particle and / or volatile organic compound(s) sensor, to adapt the fan speed 11 (and therefore the flow rate F of the generated air) according to the particle and / or volatile organic compound(s) content of the air to be filtered.
[0055] According to this preferred embodiment, the device 1 thus advantageously constitutes a powered air-purifying respirator, the use of which contributes to protecting the user's health and quality of life, particularly in the context of air pollution or a microbial pandemic / epidemic. Furthermore, the generation of a forced airflow F by the device 1 offers the advantage of compensating for any air pressure drop that the air filtration device 29 might generate.
[0056] Preferably, the air filtration device 29 comprises at least one air filter 30, which has an effective contact area with the air of between 150 cm² and 400 cm², and preferably between 180 cm² and 300 cm². The term "effective contact area with the air" advantageously refers to the total surface area of a filtering surface (or upstream filtering surface) of the air filter 30 that is in contact with the incoming air to be filtered. Such preferential ranges of effective contact area with the air allow for a large exchange surface with the air, and therefore the achievement of effective filtration, with a low aerodynamic pressure drop induced by the air filter 30. tively limited, and while maintaining sufficient airflow velocities. Advantageously, the air filter 30 is a pleated filter, which allows the air filter 30 to have a large effective contact area with the air, preferably within the aforementioned surface area ranges, while maintaining a controlled overall size. In this case, the effective contact area with the air of the air filter 30 therefore advantageously corresponds to the total surface area of the unfolded filter surface of the air filter 30. The choice of the effective cross-section and volume of the air filter 30 is likely to have a significant impact on the total aerodynamic pressure losses of the device 1, the operating point of the fan 11, and therefore the overall efficiency of the device 1. Furthermore, the volume of the air filter 30 influences the sizing of the front central element 3, and therefore the compactness of the main body 2 of the device 1.Therefore, in order to optimize the aerodynamic operation of the device 1 while maintaining a well-controlled footprint, the air filter 30 preferably has a free inlet face 30A and an opposite free outlet face 30B, each extending along a plane, and each defining a useful section (useful section of air passage through the air filter 30) advantageously between 900 mm2 and 4,900 mm2, preferably between 1,600 mm2 and 3,600 mm2, and preferably still between 2,025 mm2 and 3,025 mm2. More advantageously, said air filter 30 has a thickness e, that is to say a distance which separates said free inlet face 30A from said free outlet face 30B, which is between 5 mm and 20 mm, preferably between 8 mm and 20 mm, and preferably still between 10 mm and 15 mm.For example, the air filter 30 may advantageously have a square prism shape, where the free inlet face 30A and the free outlet face 30B are square with a side length ç between 30 mm and 70 mm, and a thickness e between 5 mm and 20 mm. More preferably, the free inlet face 30A and the free outlet face 30B are square with a side length ç between 40 mm and 60 mm, and a thickness e between 8 mm and 20 mm. Even more preferably, the free inlet face 30A and the free outlet face 30B are square with a side length ç between 45 mm and 55 mm, and a thickness e between 10 mm and 15 mm. That being said, although a square-based prism shape is preferred, it is still possible that the air filter 30 could have another shape, for example a circular-based cylinder.
[0057] Alternatively, although more complex and costly to implement, the apparatus 1 could comprise, instead of the air filtration device 29, an air treatment device designed and configured to treat air other than by filtration, for example by ionization or by using ultraviolet (UV) light, in order to purify it. Alternatively still, the air treatment device could be designed and configured to treat air not in order to purify it, That is to say, to rid it of undesirable substances, but to improve other characteristics for the comfort and / or preservation of the user's respiratory health. For example, the air treatment device could be designed and configured to humidify or dehumidify air, to cool or heat air, or even to scent the air, before it is delivered to the user.
[0058] According to another variant (not illustrated), the device could, on the contrary, be devoid of any air filtration device, as described above. In this case, the device would therefore not be designed to filter or treat ambient air before delivering it to the user in the form of a forced airflow. The device would nevertheless have the advantage of allowing the user to reduce their breathing effort by facilitating airflow in the user's bronchi and lungs. In this respect, using the device according to this second variant would help to protect, or even improve, the user's health and quality of life, particularly when the user suffers from respiratory dysfunction (lung dysfunction, respiratory muscle weakness, etc.).
[0059] Typically, the fan 11 of the device 1 constitutes a motor-fan unit comprising at least one electric motor and at least one fan blade or impeller connected to the electric motor. Advantageously, the device 1 also includes a control device for the fan 11, enabling the user to control its start-up, rotation speed, etc. Preferably, the fan 11 is a centrifugal fan, or radial turbine fan, and even more preferably a centrifugal impeller fan (or "squirrel cage" fan, i.e., a centrifugal fan whose blades are inclined forward in the direction of rotation). Such a fan 11 has the advantage of generating a high flow rate and pressure of air, with excellent efficiency, and in a compact size.Advantageously, the fan 11 then includes a single air intake inlet, which simplifies the aerodynamic design of the apparatus 1 in particular. Advantageously, said centrifugal fan 11 includes an impeller 11A, which comprises between 30 and 45 blades, and preferably 37 blades. Said impeller 11A has an external diameter preferably between 20 mm and 40 mm, and preferably equal to 30.4 mm. Said impeller 11A has an axial thickness preferably between 2 mm and 6 mm, and preferably equal to 3.3 mm. Typically, the fan 11 includes a volute 1IB inside which the impeller 1IA is rotatably mounted, the volute 11B having at least one volute nose.Advantageously, the fan 11 is designed to be powered under an electrical voltage of 5 V, at a rated power of 1.85 W, an average rotational speed of 9,500 revolutions per minute, for a maximum flow rate of 0.079 m3 / min and a maximum static pressure of . 260 Pa. Such characteristics in terms of the design and dimensioning of the fan 11 are particularly advantageous, especially in the case where the device 1 constitutes a powered air filtration unit, as envisaged above. In this case, in the embodiment illustrated in the figures, taking into account the pressure losses induced by the air filter 30 and the porous media 17, and more generally by the design of the air circuit connecting the air inlet 10 of the device 1 to the air distribution outlet 16 of the air distribution element 15, the operating point of the fan 11 typically corresponds to a flow rate between 0.04 m³ / min and 0.06 m³ / min.The average velocity of the air flow F at the outlet of the fan 11 is advantageously greater than 10 m / s, which advantageously allows obtaining an air flow velocity F at the outlet of the air distribution element 15 which is between 0.5 m / s and 2.5 m / s.
[0060] Advantageously, particularly with regard to the robustness and ease of use of the device 1, the retaining arms 4 are substantially rigid, that is to say, substantially devoid of inherent flexibility, and in particular substantially not elastically deformable manually by the user during normal use of the device 1. According to one embodiment (not illustrated), the retaining arms 4 of the main body 2 of the device 1 may form (or belong to) a single retaining piece, typically generally U-shaped, each of said retaining arms 4 forming an arm of the U-shape, at least one of which is connected, fixed, directly to the front central element 3 (either removably or permanently). The retaining arms 4 would therefore, in this case, be permanently connected to each other, for example at the level of a belly of said U-shape.Optionally, the other arm of the U-shaped structure would then be indirectly connected to the front central element 3 via the arm that is directly connected to the front central element 3. In use of the device 1, the belly of the U-shaped structure would thus be advantageously positioned opposite the nape of the neck or the back of the user's head, while the arms of the U-shaped structure would run laterally along the user's neck or head. According to a more preferred alternative, implemented in the embodiment illustrated in the figures, the support arms 4 of the main body 2 are separate from each other and are connected to the front central element 3 on either side of it. The support arms 4 are therefore separate from each other, each constituting a distinct support component. The said retaining arms 4 are advantageously shaped and configured so that, in use of the device 1, the said retaining arms 4 extend advantageously, from an end of the said retaining arms 4 at the level of which the latter are connected to the front central element 3 to an opposite free end 31 of each of the retaining arms 4, laterally along. of the user's neck and at least partially opposite the user's nape (figures 1 and 2), or laterally along the head and at least partially opposite the back of the head.
[0061] Preferably, as in the embodiment illustrated in the figures, the retaining arms 4 of the main body 2 of the device 1 are separate from one another, each of said retaining arms 4 being advantageously connected to the front central element 3 of the main body 2, preferably on either side of the latter, by means of articulation 32 to allow the main body 2 to move between a folded configuration of the retaining arms 4 and a deployed configuration of the retaining arms 4 (and vice versa). The main body 2 is therefore articulated so that the user can move it, preferably manually, from said folded configuration ([Fig. 6]) to said deployed configuration (Figures 1 to 5 and 7 to 12).Thus, the deployed configuration of the support arms 4 of the main body 2 advantageously corresponds to a usage configuration of the device 1, in which the latter is able to be put on, worn, and operated by the user, and in which the main body 2 occupies a given volume. In this deployed configuration, the main body 2 then has the general shape, at least partially annular, as previously described. The folded configuration of the support arms 4 of the main body 2 advantageously corresponds to a storage configuration, in which the main body 2 occupies a smaller volume. In this folded configuration, the main body 2 does not necessarily have a general shape, at least partially annular. Thanks to the implementation of such articulation means 32, the device 1 is particularly easy to put on around the neck or head for use, and then to remove, and its bulk can be significantly reduced for storage after use. The device 1 can thus advantageously be a "portable" device, which can easily accompany its user in their daily life and travels, and be easily stored in a limited space, such as in a pocket, a handbag or a small backpack.
[0062] According to a preferred embodiment, implemented in the illustration shown in the figures, the articulation means 32 also constitute means for permanently attaching the retaining arms 4 to the front central element 2. Once connected to the front central element 3 via the articulation means 32, the retaining arms 4 cannot be separated or detached by the user during normal use of the device 1. This contributes in particular to the ease of use of the device 1. According to an alternative embodiment, the articulation means could instead constitute means for reversibly and removablely attaching the retaining arms 4 to the front central element 3. In this way, the user could The retaining arms 4 and the front central element 3 can be separated and reassembled as desired, for example, to replace the retaining arms 4 with other compatible retaining arms 4. Preferably, as in the embodiment illustrated in the figures, said articulation means 32 each comprise a hinge, so as to pivotally articulate, according to a simple and user-intuitive kinematics, the retaining arms 4 relative to the front central element 3. However, other suitable kinematics of the articulation means 32 (ball joint, helical joint, pivot-sliding joint, linear joint, annular linear joint, etc.) can obviously be considered for the aforementioned purposes.
[0063] Preferably, the device 1 further comprises adjustment means 33 for adjusting a characteristic dimension of the support arms 4 (whether or not they are distinct or separate from each other), and more particularly their length, and thus adapting the device 1 to the user. By acting on these adjustment means 33, the user can thus adjust the dimensions of the support arms 4 of the main body 2 of the device 1 according to their own morphology. As in the embodiment illustrated in the figures, said adjustment means 33 can thus advantageously be designed and configured to allow adjustment of the length of the support arms 4 in order to adapt the dimensions of the main body 2 of the device 1 to the dimensions of the user's neck or head, taking into account, where applicable, the presence of clothing or a clothing accessory at the user's neck or around their head. Thus, the main body 2 of the device 1 fits perfectly around the user's neck or head, providing the user with great comfort when using the device 1, while advantageously maintaining the air distribution outlet 16 of the air distribution element 15 in the preferred range of average distance from the user's airways mentioned previously. Preferably, said adjustment means 33 include a telescopic slide, which advantageously allows the length of the support arms 4 to be shortened or lengthened at will, in a simple, reliable, and robust manner.
[0064] Advantageously, the device 1 may include a temporary locking system 34 for reversibly locking the main body 2 attached around the user's neck or head. Such a temporary locking system 34 advantageously limits, in particular, the risk of separation of the main body 2 from the user's body, for example, in the event of a strong jolt imparted to the main body 2 during a sudden movement by the user. For example, as in the embodiment illustrated in the figures, the temporary locking system 34 may advantageously be arranged at the free end 31 of each of the support arms 4, opposite the end of said arms. retaining arms 4 at which the latter are connected to the front central element 4 by the articulation means 32. For example, the temporary locking system 34 may include magnetic or ferromagnetic elements (including for example one or more permanent magnets), arranged at the free end 31 of each of the retaining arms 4 and which cooperate to temporarily maintain the retaining arms 4 in magnetic contact, after the main body 2 has been positioned on the user, and the length of one and / or the other of the retaining arms 4 has been adjusted using the adjustment means 33 envisaged above, if applicable. Thus, as in the example illustrated in the figures, the temporary locking system 34 advantageously allows the free ends 31 of the support arms 4 to be joined, and helps to give and maintain a closed annular shape of the main body 2 of the device 1, which will thus adapt perfectly to the morphology of the neck or head of the user.
[0065] Advantageously, as in the embodiment illustrated in the figures, the main body 2 of the device 1 has a median sagittal plane P3 which substantially forms, generally, a plane of symmetry of said main body 2, which is intended to be arranged so as to coincide with the median sagittal plane Ps of the user (Figures 1 and 2). In other words, the main body 2 of the device 1 is shaped and configured so as to define two portions (typically a right portion and a left portion) of the main body 2 which have respective geometric envelopes that are substantially identical in mirror image with respect to the median sagittal plane P3 of the main body 2. As illustrated by example in the figures, the support arms 4 are thus advantageously identical with respect to each other by mirror image with respect to the median sagittal plane P3 (of symmetry) of the main body 2 of the device 1.The main body 2 is designed and configured so that, when the user is wearing the device 1, the main body 2 is positioned around the user's neck (Figures 1 and 2) or head, with its median sagittal plane P3 coinciding with the user's median sagittal plane Ps. Advantageously, the symmetrical portions of the main body 2 have substantially identical masses. Advantageously, the air distribution element 15 has a median sagittal plane P4 that forms a plane of symmetry with the air distribution element 15, which coincides with the median sagittal plane P3 of the main body 2. The longitudinal axis of symmetry X-X' of the air outlet opening 16A of the air distribution outlet 16 is then advantageously inscribed in the median sagittal plane P4 of the air distribution element 15.Thus, when the user is equipped with device 1, the air distribution element 15 is arranged around the user's neck (Figures 1 and 2) or head with its median sagittal plane P4 coinciding with the user's median sagittal plane Ps. This. contributes in particular on the one hand to the aesthetic character of device 1 and, on the other hand, to the comfort and stability of wearing device 1 by the user, in particular when the user is travelling.
[0066] Preferably, in particular when the main body 2 is intended to be worn around the neck by the user, the device 1 includes an altitude adjustment device 35 (or riser) for adjusting the positioning altitude of the front central element 3 relative to the user. The altitude adjustment device 35 is therefore designed and configured to allow the user, once they have positioned the main body 2 of the device 1 around their neck or head, to adjust the height of the front central element 3 relative to the user's body. The altitude adjustment device 35 is thus advantageously designed and configured to move at least the front central element 3 of the main body 2 between a relatively high position and a relatively low position, and vice versa. The implementation of such an altitude adjustment device 35 advantageously allows the user to adjust the positioning of the main body 2 relative to their body, and in particular to ensure the most stable possible positioning and maintenance of the air distribution outlet 16, as close as possible (but always at a distance) from the airways. Furthermore, by manipulating the altitude adjustment device 35, the user can lower the central front element 3 to facilitate communication with those around them by creating more free space in front of their face, in cases where the main body 2 is intended to be worn around the neck.According to an advantageous embodiment, as illustrated in the figures, the altitude adjustment device 35 comprises a retractable foot 36 connected to the front central element 3 of the main body 2 and provided with a bearing surface 37 on a part of the user's body, preferably on the user's chest if the main body 2 is intended to be worn around the neck. Advantageously, the retractable foot 36 is designed to be fully retractable into the front central element 3, foldable by pivoting towards the latter (as in the embodiment illustrated in the figures), and / or telescopic. In the case where the main body 2 is intended to be worn around the neck, the manipulation of the retractable foot 36 thus advantageously allows the central front element 3 to describe a course from the user's chest (low relative position) to the user's nose (high relative position), and vice versa, which makes it possible to adapt the device 1 to the morphology of the user by adjusting the position of the air distribution element 15, and therefore of the air distribution outlet 16, as close as possible to the user's respiratory tract, or on the contrary by allowing the user to move the air distribution outlet 16 away as needed, during the use of the device 1, advantageously within the preferred distance range. average mentioned previously.
[0067] Advantageously, the energy required for the electrical operation of the device 1, and in particular of the fan 11, is supplied by a battery of electrical accumulators, which is preferably arranged inside the front central element 3. Advantageously, the electrical operation of the device 1 is controllable by the user via at least one on / off button, which is preferably located on the front central element 3. Optionally, the device 1 may include a fine particle and / or volatile organic compound sensor, which detects the presence of fine particles and / or volatile organic compounds in the surrounding ambient air and measures their concentration. Preferably, the sensor is then housed in the front central element 3.Advantageously, such a sensor is designed and configured to transmit to a remote computer or smartphone, for example via a wireless data link, information relating to the presence and concentration of such fine particles and / or volatile organic compounds, so as to inform the user about the quality of the surrounding air.
