Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Container comprising a pocket and a breakable stopper Technical field
[0001] The present invention relates to the technical field of liquid containers comprising a pouch intended to contain a liquid, for example animal semen, in particular porcine semen, and a cap closing the pouch. Such containers allow the packaging, storage, preservation and transport of the liquid with a view to its distribution and subsequent use. In the case of a container intended to receive animal semen, the latter is subject to strict constraints in terms of hygiene, confinement and protection of the liquid contained against the external environment. Prior art
[0002] Containers are known, in particular for packaging animal semen, comprising a bag and a cap closing the bag. Such containers are also called "Semen bags" in English. The cap of these containers is breakable. More precisely, they comprise a hollow tubular portion and a closure portion closing the tubular portion and connected to the main portion by a breakable connection. By breaking the cap at the breakable connection, the closure portion of the cap is separated from the main portion, allowing the distribution of the liquid contained in the bag.
[0003] A disadvantage of these containers according to the prior art is that after breaking the cap so as to detach the sealing portion, the latter remains in the hands of the user of the container and proves to be particularly cumbersome. The user must then get rid of the detached sealing portion, even though he does not necessarily have a trash can nearby. This is particularly true when using a container to carry out animal insemination. In this situation, after breaking the cap, the operator is encumbered by the detached sealing portion, which risks disrupting his movements.
[0004] Furthermore, the sealing portion risks being misplaced and falling onto the ground, causing pollution of said ground if it is not subsequently picked up. Statement of the invention
[0005] An aim of the present invention is to provide a container for liquid which overcomes the aforementioned drawbacks.
[0006] To do this, the invention relates to a container for a liquid, the container including: - a pouch comprising at least a first film and a second film assembled together so as to form at least one border for the pouch, said pouch having an interior volume defined between the first and second films, said pouch having a liquid outlet; and - a plug cooperating with the pocket so as to close said liquid outlet, said plug having at least one tubular portion in fluid communication with the interior volume of the pocket and a closing portion connected to the tubular portion by a breakable connection, said closing portion of the plug being at least partially arranged in said border of the pocket, between said first and second films of the pocket.
[0007] Without departing from the scope of the invention, the container, and more precisely the pouch, can contain all types of liquids, for example drinks, cosmetic products or even medical products. Preferably, the container is intended for animal insemination, so the pouch is configured to receive animal semen. The container advantageously has the shape of a flexible gourd.
[0008] Preferably, the container according to the invention is a single-use container. Alternatively, and without departing from the scope of the invention, said container may be a reusable container, capable of being filled with liquid several times.
[0009] The bag and the cap together define the interior volume intended to receive and contain the liquid. The bag and the cap form a hermetic assembly protecting the liquid from the external environment.
[0010] The container according to the invention allows the packaging, storage, preservation and transport of the liquid with a view to its subsequent use.
[0011] The liquid outlet allows the liquid to be extracted from the bag in order to dispense it. The stopper is arranged at the liquid outlet and prevents the liquid from escaping from the bag, as long as the closure portion is connected to the tubular portion of the stopper.
[0012] The first and second films are arranged one above the other and superimposed.
[0013] Each of the first and second films advantageously has at least one first edge, said films being assembled together along their first edges so as to define said border of the pocket.
[0014] Preferably, each of the first and second films has a plurality of edges, the first and second films being assembled along all of their edges.
[0015] Preferably, the first and second films are assembled along their periphery, so as to form the pocket.
[0016] Preferably, the first and second films are assembled by welding.
[0017] The first and second films are advantageously of generally rec shape tangular. According to this non-limiting variant, each of the first and second films comprises four edges.
[0018] Preferably, the first film is substantially identical to the second film.
[0019] Advantageously, the first and second films are flexible. Preferably, the first and second films are formed from a plastic material. Preferably, substantially the entire pouch is formed from a single material, more preferably from a plastic material. Preferably, the first and second films are non-deformable or slightly deformable.
[0020] Advantageously, the first and second films each have at least one edge portion arranged opposite a corresponding edge portion of the other film and which is not assembled to this corresponding edge portion, so as to form an outlet opening for the pocket, defining the liquid outlet. Preferably, this outlet opening is formed in the edge of the pocket.
[0021] The plug advantageously extends in a main direction. The plug is advantageously formed from a plastic material.
[0022] The tubular portion of the stopper is hollow. The tubular portion extends along the main direction of the stopper. It is advantageously of circular section. It is in fluid communication with the interior volume of the bag so that liquid can penetrate therein when the bag contains such liquid. The tubular portion forms a conduit for guiding and distributing the liquid precisely.
[0023] Preferably, the tubular portion and the closure portion of the plug form a single piece. Advantageously, the length of the tubular portion is substantially equal to two-thirds of the length of the plug considered along the main direction of the plug. Advantageously, the length of the closure portion is substantially equal to one-third of the length of the plug considered along the main direction of the plug.
[0024] When connected to the tubular portion, the sealing portion of the plug seals said tubular portion and prevents liquid from exiting said pocket via the tubular portion.
[0025] Preferably, the tubular portion of the plug has a distal end portion, the closure portion being connected to said distal end portion via said breakable connection. The closure portion advantageously extends in the extension of the tubular portion.
[0026] A breakable connection means a connection that can be broken manually by a user, in order to partially or completely separate the closure portion from the tubular portion of the cap, and thus put the tubular portion in fluid communication with the exterior of the container. The breakable connection is configured to be broken easily by the user and with minimal effort. No additional tool is required. necessary to break the breakable bond. Preferably, the breakable bond is configured so that, when the breakable bond is broken, the sealing portion is completely detached from the tubular portion of the plug.
[0027] Given this breakable connection, the stopper can be described as a breakable stopper.
[0028] Preferably, but not limited to, the breakable connection may be a reduced strength portion of the plug.
[0029] Preferably, the sealing portion is entirely arranged in said border of the pocket, between said first and second films of the pocket.
[0030] According to the invention, the closure portion of the plug extends at least partly into the edge of the pocket, between said first and second films of the pocket. In other words, the closure portion is embedded in the edge and taken between the first and second films. The closure portion is therefore linked to the edge and to the pocket and cannot be detached therefrom, except by tearing off the first and second films.
[0031] To dispense the liquid contained in the pocket of the container, the operator first breaks the breakable connection. In a non-limiting manner, the breakable portion can be broken by pivoting the closure portion around an axis of the tubular portion, or by tilting the closure portion relative to the tubular portion of the cap.
[0032] Once the breakable connection is broken, the sealing portion is detached from the tubular portion of the stopper, and is no longer connected to this tubular portion. The tubular portion of the stopper is then opened and the liquid can be dispensed via said tubular portion, from the distal end portion of this tubular portion.
[0033] Thanks to the invention, to the extent that the closure portion is arranged in the edge of the pocket, the latter remains connected to the pocket despite the breakage of the breakable connection. The closure portion is maintained between the first and second films. Therefore, the closure portion is not released and remains integral with the container.
[0034] Consequently, said closure portion does not remain in the user's hands and does not hinder the latter in his movements. The bulk caused by the closure portion after breaking the cap is greatly reduced. The dispensing of the liquid can be carried out more easily, without having to have the closure portion. Thanks to the invention, it is not necessary for the user to throw the closure portion in the trash or slip it into his pocket.
[0035] Furthermore, said sealing portion is not likely to be lost or fall onto the ground, thus reducing the pollution caused by the container.
[0036] Without departing from the scope of the invention, only the sealing portion of the plug may extend into the edge of the pocket, between said first and second films of the pocket. Alternatively, a larger portion of the plug may extend into the border, between the first and second films.
[0037] Preferably, at least one of the first and second films is welded onto said sealing portion of the cap. Preferably, the first and second films are welded onto said sealing portion of the cap.
[0038] According to a particularly advantageous aspect, the tubular portion of the plug has an open distal end portion connected to the closure portion via said breakable connection, at least said distal end portion of the tubular portion being arranged in said border of the pocket, between said first and second films of the pocket.
[0039] The sealing portion seals the distal end portion of the tubular portion.
[0040] It is understood that the open distal end portion of the tubular portion is taken and embedded in the edge of the pocket, between the two films. An advantage is that when said breakable connection is broken and the closure portion is detached from the tubular portion of the stopper, the liquid leaving the tubular portion remains confined between the first and second films, in the edge. In other words, said tubular portion remains closed by the first and second films, and therefore by the edge of the pocket. The edge of the pocket then forms an additional means of closing the tubular portion preventing the liquid from escaping from the pocket despite the breakage of the stopper. The container then has a double closure.
[0041] This reduces the risk of liquid escaping from the pouch when handling the cap to break the breakable connection, or in the event of inadvertent breakage of the breakable connection. In order to dispense the liquid, the user must then pierce the first film or the second film so that the open distal end portion of the tubular portion extends beyond the rim. The distal end portion of the tubular portion is then no longer blocked by the films and the liquid can be dispensed.
[0042] Preferably, the first film or the second film can be pierced using the end portion of the tubular portion of the plug.
[0043] Preferably, said cap further comprises a fixing base fixed to the pocket and to which said tubular portion of the cap is connected, said tubular portion of the cap extending between the closure portion and said fixing base. The fixing base allows the cap to be fixed to the pocket and in particular to the two films. The fixing base also makes it easier to hold the cap. In particular, by holding the fixing base with one hand and exerting force on the closure portion with the other hand, the user can easily break the breakable connection and detach the closure portion from the tubular portion.
[0044] Said fixing base advantageously has a cylindrical shape. It advantageously extends in the main direction of the plug. The fixing base has advantageously an elliptical section, or eye-shaped.
[0045] The tubular portion of the plug advantageously has a proximal end portion fixed to said fixing base. Preferably, the tubular portion extends transversely from the fixing base.
[0046] Preferably, said fixing base is arranged between the first and second films. Preferably the fixing base is arranged in the edge of the pocket.
[0047] Advantageously, said fixing base has a through orifice opening on the one hand into the tubular portion of the stopper and on the other hand into the interior volume of the bag. Said fixing base therefore places the tubular portion of the stopper in fluid communication with the interior volume of the bag. When dispensing the liquid, the latter is brought into the tubular portion via said through orifice of the fixing base.
[0048] Advantageously, said fixing base is arranged in the edge of the pocket, between said first and second films of the pocket.
[0049] Preferably, at least one of the first and second films is welded to said fixing base. Preferably, the first and second films are welded to said fixing base of the cap.
[0050] Preferably, the fixing base is arranged at the liquid outlet. Preferably, the fixing base is arranged in the outlet opening defining the liquid outlet. Preferably, the fixing base substantially fills the entire outlet opening. Said fixing base advantageously partially closes the liquid outlet.
[0051] Preferably, the plug extends in a main direction and the fixing base of the plug has a section greater than a section of the tubular portion of the plug, considered transversely to said main direction of the plug. An advantage is to facilitate the handling of the fixing portion, in particular when the user wishes to act on the closure portion to break the breakable connection.
[0052] Advantageously, the fixing base comprises a hooking means configured to further facilitate the gripping of said fixing base. Preferably, said hooking means comprises at least one groove formed in a side wall of said fixing base.
[0053] Preferably, said base for fixing the cap has a face arranged in the interior volume of the pocket.
[0054] According to a particularly advantageous aspect, substantially the entire plug is arranged in the edge of the pocket, between said first and second films of the pocket. It is understood that the plug is embedded in said edge of the pocket. One advantage is to effectively secure the plug to the pocket. Another advantage is to further improve the sealing of the tubular portion of the cap, produced by said first and second films. The airtightness of the container is therefore improved.
[0055] Furthermore, because the plug extends into the edge of the pocket, it does not protrude from said pocket, reducing the risk of snagging the plug and damaging it. The risk of injury from the plug is also reduced.
[0056] Advantageously, the stopper extends in a main direction and said closure portion of the stopper comprises a gripping portion having a transverse dimension, considered transversely to said main direction, greater than a transverse dimension of the tubular portion of the stopper. One advantage is to facilitate the gripping and handling of the closure portion in order to be able to break the breakable connection more easily and thus be able to easily detach the closure portion.
[0057] More preferably, the gripping portion has a transverse dimension, considered transversely to said main direction, greater than an external diameter of the tubular portion of the stopper.
[0058] Advantageously, said gripping portion comprises at least one fin. Said fin advantageously extends radially considered with respect to said main direction. More preferably, said gripping portion comprises two fins. The two fins advantageously extend in the same plane.
[0059] Preferably, the gripping portion has a substantially trapezoidal shape.
[0060] Preferably, said first and second films of the pocket are assembled together so as to further form at least one lateral edge for the pocket, extending from said border of the pocket.
[0061] Preferably, said first and second films of the pocket are assembled together so as to further form a first lateral edge, and a second lateral edge for the pocket, extending from said border of the pocket. More preferably, said first and second films are assembled together so as to form an end edge for the pocket, opposite said border.
[0062] Advantageously, said pocket extends in a longitudinal direction, said edge having a width considered in said longitudinal direction, which is greater than or equal to a length of the cap.
[0063] The border advantageously has a width of between 1 and 3 centimeters.
[0064] Preferably, said edge extends transversely to the longitudinal direction of the pocket. Preferably, said plug extends along said longitudinal direction of the pocket.
[0065] Advantageously, the pouch comprises an outlet opening formed in said border, between said first and second films, said outlet opening opening into the interior volume of the pouch and defining said liquid outlet, the plug being disposed at least partially in said outlet opening. Said outlet opening is formed between two portions respectively of the first and second films which are not assembled together. Said opening is advantageously formed between two edge portions respectively of the first and second films.
[0066] Preferably, said pocket has a filling opening opposite said liquid outlet. Said filling opening defines a liquid inlet for introducing liquid into the interior volume of said pocket.
[0067] Preferably, said filling opening is only used when packaging the container, to fill the pouch with the liquid, in the case of a single-use container. This filling opening is then closed and resealed, for example by welding the first and second films together.
[0068] Alternatively, the filling opening can be closed by a closure that can be opened or closed at will, allowing the bag to be refilled when it is empty. One advantage is that the container can be reused once it has been emptied of its liquid. It is therefore reusable and does not have to be thrown away once emptied. The ecological impact is therefore reduced.
[0069] Alternatively and without departing from the scope of the invention, said filling opening may be closed by a closing element, for example by a membrane intended to be pierced.
[0070] Preferably, the container is a container intended to contain animal semen. Brief description of the drawings
[0071] The invention will be better understood on reading the following description of an embodiment of the invention given by way of non-limiting example, with reference to the appended drawings, in which:

[0078] [Fig.7] [Fig.7] shows the container of [Fig.l], the sealing portion having been detached from the tubular portion. Description of the embodiments
[0079] The invention relates to a container for a liquid, the container comprising a pouch and a cap. The container is particularly suitable for containing animal semen, for the purpose of carrying out animal insemination, for example porcine.
[0080] A non-limiting embodiment of a container 10 according to the invention is illustrated in Figures 1 to 7.
[0081] In [Fig.l], it can be seen that the container 10 comprises a pocket 20 and a breakable stopper 40 fixed to the pocket 20.
[0082] The pocket 20 has a generally rectangular shape and extends in a longitudinal direction L. It comprises a first film 22 and a second film 24 which are substantially identical. The first and second films 22, 24 have a generally rectangular shape. They are flexible and made of a plastic material, preferably transparent.
[0083] The first film 22 comprises a first edge 22a, a second edge 22b, a third edge 22c and a fourth edge 22d. Similarly, the second film 24 comprises a first edge, a second edge, a third edge and a fourth edge, not visible in [Fig.l].
[0084] The first and second films 22, 24 are arranged one above the other and are assembled along their periphery, so as to form the pocket. More precisely, the first edges 22a of the first and second films are assembled together to form a border 20a for the pocket 20. The second edges 22b of the first and second films are assembled together to form a first lateral edge 20b for the pocket 20. The third edges 22c of the first and second films are assembled together to form an end edge 20c for the pocket 20. Finally, the fourth edges 22d of the first and second films are assembled together to form a second lateral edge 20d for the pocket 20. In a non-limiting manner, the first and second films 22, 24 are here assembled by welding.
[0085] The pocket 20 has an interior volume V defined between the first and second films 22, 24 and intended to receive a liquid.
[0086] The pouch comprises a filling opening 26, formed in the end edge 20c of the pouch 20, between two portions respectively of the first and second films 22, 24 which are not assembled together. This filling opening 26 makes it possible to fill the pouch with the liquid during packaging. Once the pouch 20 is filled, this filling opening is advantageously closed by a weld 27 between the first and second films 22, 24 making it possible to close said filling opening 26. In this non-limiting embodiment, the container is for single use only.
[0087] The pocket further comprises a liquid outlet 28 defined by an outlet opening 30. The outlet opening 30 is formed in the edge 20a of the pocket 20. More precisely, the outlet opening 30 is formed by a portion of the first edge 22a of the first film 22 and a portion of the first edge of the second film 24 which are not assembled.
[0088] As can be seen in [Fig. 1], the container 10 further comprises a plug 40 disposed in the outlet opening 30, at the level of the liquid outlet 28.
[0089] Referring to [Fig.2], it can be seen that the plug 40 extends in a main direction Y which coincides with the longitudinal direction L of the pocket 20. In other words, the plug 40 extends in the longitudinal direction Y of the pocket 20. The plug is made of hard plastic material. It has a length Le.
[0090] The plug 40 comprises a hollow tubular portion 42. This tubular portion 42 extends along the main direction Y of the plug 40. It has a proximal end portion 42a and a distal end portion 42b. This tubular portion 42 is in fluid communication with the interior volume V of the pocket, so that liquid can penetrate therein.
[0091] The plug 40 further comprises a closure portion 44. The closure portion 44 has a gripping portion 46 of trapezoidal shape and comprising a first fin 48 and a second fin 50. The first and second fins 48, 50 extend in the same plane, radially relative to the main direction Y of the plug. The gripping portion 46 facilitates the handling and manipulation of the closure portion 44.
[0092] The closure portion 44 is solid. It extends in the extension of the tubular portion 42 and is connected to the tubular portion 42 by a breakable connection 52. This breakable connection 52 can be broken manually by a user, without tools and with minimal effort.
[0093] The tubular portion 42 has a length, considered along the main direction Y of the plug, substantially equal to two-thirds of the length of the plug. The closure portion 44 has a length, considered along the main direction Y of the plug, substantially equal to one-third of the length of the plug.
[0094] When connected to the tubular portion 42, the closure portion 44 closes said tubular portion and prevents the liquid from exiting the container 10 via the distal end portion 42b of the tubular portion 42.
[0095] As illustrated in [Fig.2], the plug 40 further comprises a fixing base 54. The tubular portion 42 is fixed to said fixing base 54 and extends transversely to this fixing base. The fixing base 54 has a cylindrical shape and an elliptical, or eye-shaped, section. The fixing base 54 extends also along the main direction Y of the plug. The cylindrical portion 42 is arranged between the fixing base 54 and the sealing portion 44.
[0096] As illustrated in [Fig. 3], showing the plug 40 in a bottom view, a through-orifice 56 is provided in the fixing base 54 along the main direction Y of the plug. The through-orifice 56 opens on the one hand into the tubular portion 42 of the plug 40 and on the other hand into the interior volume V of the pocket 20. This through-orifice makes it possible to place the tubular portion 42 in fluid communication with the interior volume V of the pocket. The fixing base 54 further has a face 57 arranged in the interior volume V of the pocket 20.
[0097] Referring again to [Fig. 2], it can be seen that grooves 58 are provided in a first side wall 60 of the fixing base. These grooves 58 define attachment means facilitating the handling of the mounting base and more generally of the cap 40. In a non-limiting manner, the fixing base further comprises a second side wall, not visible, in which grooves are also provided.
[0098] The closure portion 44, the tubular portion 42 and the fixing base 54 form a single piece.
[0099] As illustrated in [Fig.4], the plug 40 is disposed in the edge 20a of the pocket 20 and extends between the first and second films 22, 24, in which it is caught and embedded.
[0100] The fixing base 54 is arranged in the outlet opening 30, between the first and second films. It is sandwiched between the two films 22, 24 for fixing the cap 40 to the pocket 20.
[0101] According to the invention, the closure portion 44 of the plug 40 is arranged in the edge 20a of the pocket 20, between the first and second films 22, 24. Said closure portion 44 is therefore embedded in the edge 20a. An advantage is to keep said closure portion integral with the pocket, even if the closure portion 44 is detached and separated from the tubular portion 42.
[0102] Here, the closure portion 44 of the plug is welded to the first film 22 and to the second film 24. Similarly, the fixing base 54 is welded to the first and second films 22, 24.
[0103] Likewise, the tubular portion 42, and in particular its distal end part 42b, is arranged in the border, between the first and second films 22, 24.
[0104] The edge 20a of the pocket 20 having a width 1 considered in said longitudinal direction L, which is greater than the length Le of the plug 40.
[0105] The operations for dispensing the liquid contained in the pocket 20 of the container 10 will now be described with reference to FIGS. 5 to 7.
[0106] Initially, the liquid is contained in the pocket 20 and the sealing portion 44 is connected to the tubular portion 42 of the stopper 40 by the breakable connection 46. The closing portion 44 of the stopper closes the tubular portion 42 and the liquid cannot escape from the pocket 20 via the tubular portion.
[0107] Initially, as illustrated in [Fig.5], the user grasps the gripping portion 46 of the closure portion 44 with one hand. In a non-limiting manner, he grasps the fixing base 54 of the cap 40 with his other hand. The user then tilts said closure portion relative to the tubular portion 42 of the cap. This force exerted on the closure portion makes it possible to break the breakable connection 52. From then on, said closure portion 44 is detached from the tubular portion 42 and is no longer connected to said tubular portion. The closure portion then no longer closes the tubular portion 42.
[0108] Thanks to the invention, insofar as it is arranged in the border 20a, between the first and second films 22, 24, the closure portion 44 remains integral with the pocket 20, embedded in the border 20a, even after breaking the cap. The closure portion 44 does not remain in the hands of the user so that the latter is not encumbered by this closure portion. In addition, the closure portion 44 does not risk falling onto the ground, thus reducing the pollution caused.
[0109] After breaking the breakable connection, the open distal end portion 42b of the tubular portion 42 is no longer closed by the closing portion 44. The liquid is however not dispensed since said distal end portion 42b of the tubular portion 42 is arranged in the edge 20a of the pocket, between the first and second films 22, 24. The first and second films define a hermetic volume around said distal end portion 42b of the tubular portion, in which the liquid is confined, and from which the liquid cannot escape. In other words, said edge and more precisely the first and second films 22, 24 close the tubular portion 42 and prevent the liquid from being dispensed, even after breaking the breakable connection 52 of the cap.
[0110] In order to be able to dispense the liquid, the user then tears or pierces the first film 22 and / or the second film 24, preferably by pushing the distal end portion 42b of the tubular portion 42 of the cap through said film, as illustrated in [Fig.6].
[0111] Therefore, as can be seen in [Fig.7], an opening is formed in the first or second film 22, 24. Also, said distal end portion 42b of the tubular portion 42 of the plug is released and in fluid communication with the external environment. The internal volume V of the pocket is put in fluid communication with the external environment, via the tubular portion of the plug 40. The liquid is no longer confined. Preferably, the distal end portion 42b of the tubular portion 42 of the plug then extends out of the edge 20a and is no longer arranged between the first and second films 22,24. Preferably, more than two-thirds of the tubular portion remains arranged in the border 20a, between the first and second films
[0112] The user can then extract the liquid from the pocket 20, via the through-orifice 56 of the fixing base 54 and via the tubular portion 42 of the cap. The liquid is dispensed from the distal end portion 42b of the tubular portion. The liquid is advantageously extracted by squeezing the pocket.
[0113] Once emptied of its liquid, the container can be thrown away.
