Description

Title of the invention: Surgical device. technical field

[0001] The present invention relates to surgical devices.

[0002] When a surgeon is to perform a surgical operation, depending on its nature, they prepare all the instruments necessary to complete it in the best possible way for the patient. One of the parameters that is important for the patient's well-being is the duration of the procedure. Therefore, when preparing all the instruments, they must plan the sequence of their use so that they can be accessed quickly and easily, either by themselves or by their assistant.

[0003] He often has to use two instruments successively and instantaneously.

[0004] Also, the present invention aims to provide a surgical device which allows the practitioner to save time on the duration of the intervention, in particular by facilitating his work, in particular because he will have at hand and in complete safety the instruments which he needs to, for example, perform two consecutive acts or acts very close in time to each other.

[0005] The practitioner will thus even have the possibility of reducing the number of his assistants in charge of presenting him with the instruments he needs, resulting in a saving of time and increased safety.

[0006] More specifically, the present invention relates to a surgical device comprising at least one first surgical instrument having at least one branch having a free end, characterized in that it further comprises a first sleeve of which at least a part is made of a flexible material, said first sleeve being defined between two ends, one end of said first sleeve having a cavity into which the free end of said branch is forcibly fitted.

[0007] According to another feature of the invention, the surgical device comprises a second surgical instrument, each of the first and second instruments comprising a single arm, each having a free end, and a cavity made at the other end of the first sleeve, the free end of the arm of each instrument being fitted, respectively, into the two cavities at each end of the first sleeve.

[0008] According to another feature of the invention, the instrument comprises two branches, each of the two branches having a free end, the first sleeve having a cavity at its other end, the free ends of the two branches being press-fitted respectively into the two cavities.

[0009] According to another feature of the invention, the surgical device comprises a second surgical instrument, each of the first and second instruments comprising two branches, the branches of both instruments each having a free end; a second sleeve defined between two ends, said first and second sleeves each comprising a cavity at each of their two ends, the two free ends of an instrument being fitted respectively into a cavity of the first and second sleeves.

[0010] Other features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following description given with reference to the accompanying drawings, which are by way of illustration but in no way limiting, in which:

[0011] The [Fig. 1] represents the schematic diagram of the object of the invention according to its primary function.

[0012] Fig. 2 represents a diagram illustrating, in schematic form, a first embodiment of the surgical device according to the invention.

[0013] Fig. 3 represents a diagram illustrating, in schematic form, a second embodiment of the surgical device according to the invention.

[0014] Fig. 4 represents a view of an industrial embodiment of the surgical device according to the invention, in a particular application.

[0015] Fig. 5 represents a view of another industrial embodiment of the surgical device according to the invention, in another particular application.

[0016] It is specified that, when, according to the definition of the invention, the object of the invention comprises “at least one” element having a given function, the described embodiment may comprise several of these elements. Conversely, if the embodiment of the object according to the invention as illustrated comprises several elements with identical functions and if, in the description, it is not specified that the object according to this invention must necessarily comprise a particular number of these elements, the object of the invention may be defined as comprising “at least one” of these elements.

[0017] It is specified that when, in the present description, an expression defines by itself, without any particular specific mention concerning it, a set of structural characteristics, these characteristics may be taken, for the definition of the object of the protection sought, when this is technically possible, either separately, or in total and / or partial combination.

[0018] It is further specified that, in the present description, if the adverb "sensiblement" is associated with a qualifier of a given means, this qualifier must be understood in the strict or approximate sense.

[0019] It should also be noted that, across all five figures, the same references designate the same means having the same function, regardless of their graphical representation.

[0020] The present invention relates to a surgical device which, according to the diagram in [Fig.1], comprises at least a first surgical instrument 11, 11', comprising at least one arm 14, 14' having a free end 16, 16'.

[0021] This surgical device further comprises a first sleeve 20, 20', at least a portion of which is made of a flexible material. This first sleeve is defined between two ends 21, 21', one end of this first sleeve 20, 20' having a cavity 25, 25' into which the free end 16, 16' of the arm 14, 14' is press-fitted.

[0022] Referring more particularly to [Fig.4], the device comprises a second surgical instrument 11, 11' (it therefore comprises two instruments) each of the first and second instruments comprising a single branch 14, 15 each having a free end, and a cavity made at the other end of the first sleeve 20.

[0023] The free end of the branch of each instrument is fitted, respectively, into the two cavities at each end of this first sleeve 20.

[0024] Referring more particularly to [Fig.2], the device comprises the instrument 11 having two branches 14, 14', which can be considered as two instruments, each of the two branches having a free end 16, 16', the first sleeve 20 having a cavity 25, 25' at its other end, the free ends of the two branches 14, 14' then being pressed into the two cavities 25, 25' respectively.

[0025] Referring more particularly to figures 3 and 5, the surgical device comprises a second surgical instrument 11, 11', therefore two instruments, but each of the first and second instruments comprises two branches 14, 14'; 15, 15', distinct, the branches of the two instruments each having a free end 16, 16'; 17, 17'; as well as a second sleeve 20, 20' (therefore two sleeves) defined between two ends 21, 21'; 22, 22', these first and second sleeves each comprising a cavity 25, 25' at each of their two ends.

[0026] The two free ends of an instrument are fitted respectively into a cavity of the first and second sleeves and the two sleeves 20, 20' are thus respectively connected to a branch of each instrument, as illustrated in [Fig.3]

[0027] According to an advantageous feature of the invention, a part of the flexible material of the sleeve 20, 20' is made of molded silicone, and even preferably the whole sleeve 20, 20' is made of molded silicone, namely over its entire length.

[0028] According to an advantageous feature of the invention, the sleeve 20, 20' has a determined flexural elasticity, the value of which will be defined by those skilled in the art, in particular surgeons, according to their wishes.

[0029] To facilitate the molding of such a sleeve, it is advantageous for the sleeve 20, 20' to have a substantially axial bore 26 along its entire length, and in this case, the cavities may be the extremities of this breakthrough.

[0030] In the description of the embodiments illustrated in the figures, mention is made of surgical instruments which have at least one arm. Now the present invention finds a particularly advantageous application when these instruments 11, 11' are chosen from among at least the following instruments: (i) a needle holder 30, (ii) a scissor holder 31, (iii) a scalpel, (iv) a two-jawed forceps.

[0031] Fig. 5, which applies the teachings of Fig. 3, represents an industrial embodiment of the device in which the two instruments 11, 11' are respectively a scissor holder and a needle holder, for microsurgical interventions, for example in the hand of a human being.

[0032] The present invention also relates to a kit for making a surgical device as described above. This kit comprises a case with a manipulable lid and, in this case, a plurality of sleeves 20, 20', the cross-section of the cavity 25, 25' (or cavities) made in these sleeves 20, 20' and the length of these sleeves being of different sizes.

[0033] In this way, a practitioner in possession of such a kit can, in anticipation of a given surgical intervention, prepare the combinations of instruments that he will have to use to perform two consecutive or very close temporally to each other acts necessary for this intervention.

[0034] From the description given above, the advantages of the object of the present invention become evident and it is clear that the objectives of this invention are indeed achieved.
