Abstract

A method for lane changing by a semi-automatic lane-changing driving aid for a motor vehicle comprises the steps of: detecting (29) a driver action corresponding to a lane change request; then verifying (33) that the environment permits the lane change by the vehicle in a safe manner; and implementing (37) the lane change by the vehicle.
