Description

Title of the invention: Head equipment

[0001] The present invention relates to the technical field of head equipment, and relates more particularly to head equipment configured to support an electronic device of the smartphone type.

[0002] When using an electronic device such as a smartphone, for example a mobile phone or a tablet, the user often holds said device in front of him, sometimes at arm's length, in order to be able to view content displayed on the screen of the device. However, when the use is prolonged, for example in the case of reading an electronic book or watching a video, the user's position can quickly become uncomfortable and even painful, for example causing pain in the ulnar nerve.

[0003] An existing solution may consist of placing the electronic device on a piece of furniture. However, this solution does not allow the electronic device to be easily positioned appropriately and is not portable.

[0004] The present invention aims in particular to solve the problems indicated above by proposing head equipment.

[0005] Thus, the present invention relates to head equipment, characterized in that it comprises a part for placement on the head of a user and a support rod comprising a first end configured to be fixed to the placement part and a second end, opposite the first end, configured to receive a gripping tip configured to, in use, grip and hold an electronic device of the smartphone type opposite the user's face, the placement part comprising at least two support points configured to at least bear on two opposite parts of the user's head and prevent the head equipment worn by the user from tilting, when an electronic device is held by the gripping tip.

[0006] The anti-tilt effect can be achieved by selecting a number of support points for the resting part and a pressure applied by all of the support points on the user's head. The applied pressure can for example be achieved by elastic deformation of the resting part.

[0007] The gripping tip is configured to, in use, grip and hold the electronic device facing the user's face. Preferably, the gripping tip is configured such that a screen of the electronic device can be oriented toward the user's face. Thus, the user does not need to hold the electronic device with his or her hands, which in particular makes it possible to provide comfortable use to the user and to avoid the occurrence of pain in the ulnar nerve after prolonged use of the electronic device.

[0008] It will also be understood that, in combination with an electronic device comprising a camera, head equipment according to the invention can be used to take photos with the electronic device, for example self-photos, or “selfies” in English.

[0009] According to a particular embodiment, the laying part comprises a hoop.

[0010] Other configurations are however possible for the laying part, for example a crown or headband, for example a rigid crown or elastic headband possibly comprising a rigid insert secured to the headband and configured to fix the support rod. In the case of a crown or headband, the fitting part comprises an infinite number of support points distributed around a periphery of the fitting part. According to variants, pads can extend from the crown or headband towards the user's head to form a predetermined number of support points.

[0011] According to a particular embodiment, the hoop is configured to be placed on an upper part of the user's head, the hoop comprising at least two support points configured to bear on two opposite lateral parts of the user's head.

[0012] This configuration allows in particular a good positioning of the head equipment on the user's head. Preferably, a middle part of the arch is also configured to rest on the upper part of the user's head.

[0013] According to a particular embodiment, the installation part further comprises an anti-tilt element, integral with the arch, comprising at least one support point configured to bear on a rear part of the user's head.

[0014] The anti-tilt element participates in the anti-tilt function of the head equipment, and has the role of limiting the pressure, applied by the support points of the installation part, necessary to prevent tilting of the head equipment, when the electronic device is received by the gripping end piece.

[0015] According to a particular embodiment, the anti-tilt element is a strip fixed to the hoop so as to connect two parts of the hoop and to extend over the rear part of the user's head.

[0016] According to a particular embodiment, the band is elastic.

[0017] The use of an elastic band allows in particular a precise adjustment to the back of the user's head. The band may for example be made of a rubber or latex type material. The band may optionally be covered with a fabric, for example an elastic fabric, in order to reduce friction against the user's hair.

[0018] According to a particular embodiment, the strip is fixed to the hoop in a manner removable and adjustable.

[0019] The band may, for example, be attached in the manner of a swimming goggle band. The hoop may also include several attachment notches for adjusting the height at which the band is attached to the hoop.

[0020] According to a particular embodiment, the anti-tilt element is a half-arch configured to extend from the arch and onto the rear portion of the user's head, a distal end of the half-arch comprising at least one support point configured to bear on the rear portion of the user's head.

[0021] According to a particular embodiment, the support rod is fixed to the laying part in a removable manner.

[0022] This configuration makes it possible in particular to dismantle the support rod from the head equipment and therefore to reduce the volume required for transporting the head equipment and makes it possible, for example, to easily transport it in a bag, for example a backpack. The removable attachment can be obtained by any technical solution, for example by screwing, by elastic fitting or by clipping. It will be understood that, according to a non-preferred variant, the support rod can be connected to the installation part in a fixed manner, for example by gluing or force-fitting.

[0023] According to a particular embodiment, the support rod comprises at least one deformable portion configured to be plastically deformed by hand by the user in order to allow adjustment of the position of the gripping tip relative to the first end of the support rod.

[0024] In certain configurations, the deformable part can also participate in the anti-tilt function of the head equipment, for example by resting on the upper part of the user's head.

[0025] According to a particular embodiment, the support rod comprises at least one telescopic part configured to allow adjustment of the distance between the gripping tip and the first end of the support rod.

[0026] According to variants, the support rod may comprise, arranged successively, a telescopic part and one or more deformable parts.

[0027] According to a particular embodiment, the support rod is configured such that the distance between the gripping tip and the first end of the support rod is between 30 and 70 cm.

[0028] This distance is particularly suitable for viewing video content on the electronic device, and, where appropriate, for taking photos, for example selfies with the electronic device.

[0029] According to a particular embodiment, the gripping tip is rotatable and configured to allow rotation of the gripping tip relative to the support rod.

[0030] Preferably, the gripping tip is rotatable 360°, where appropriate this makes it possible in particular to provide original viewing angles for photos taken with the electronic device.

[0031] According to a particular embodiment, the head equipment is an audio headset and further comprises at least one earphone, the or each earphone being fixed to a respective distal end of the headband so as to rest on a respective lateral part of the user's head and to be received on an ear of the user.

[0032] Preferably, the head equipment comprises two earphones. According to a non-preferred variant, the head equipment may comprise a single earphone. It will also be understood that this configuration allows the user to listen to audio content with the head equipment.

[0033] According to a particular embodiment, the at least one earphone comprises an integrated microphone.

[0034] This configuration makes it possible in particular to capture the sound of the user's voice.

[0035] According to a particular embodiment, the at least one earphone is configured to be able to be connected to the electronic device.

[0036] This configuration makes it possible to emit audio content corresponding to the video content displayed by the electronic device, and, if necessary, to be able to transmit the sound captured by the integrated microphones to the electronic device, for example to make a video call. It will be understood that a connection between an earphone and the electronic device can be made by any means, for example wired using a jack cable or a USB cable, preferably USB type C, or wirelessly using a Bluetooth® connection or a Wi-Fi connection. Preferably, the head equipment comprises a control device configured to control the earphones and a connection with the electronic device.

[0037] According to a particular embodiment, at least one earphone is detachably attached to the headband, includes an integrated battery and is configured to be used as an audio speaker in a state detached from the headband.

[0038] This configuration allows the user in particular to share music with other people. The integrated battery makes it possible to power the corresponding earphone both in a state attached to the headband and in a state detached from the headband, in which it forms a standalone audio speaker. The integrated battery is preferably rechargeable and can be recharged wired, for example using a USB wired charger, preferably having a USB type C cable, or wirelessly, for example using an induction charger.

[0039] In a variant where the headgear comprises a single earphone detachably attached to the headband, the battery may be configured to also power an earphone fixedly attached to the headband, such that the equipment headphone includes only one battery. Similarly, the headphone may include only one control device for two earphones.

[0040] It will also be understood that, preferably, earphone control buttons, for example a switching button configured to switch the earphone between a "headphone" mode and an "audio speaker" mode, volume control buttons, a power on / off button, a play / pause button and an audio track selection button, are directly integrated on the earphone detachably attached to the headband, such that said earphone can be controlled in the detached state independently.

[0041] According to one embodiment, two earphones may be detachably attached for use as audio speakers, for example as stereo audio speakers, wherein the control buttons may be carried by both earphones or only one of the earphones.

[0042] Particular embodiments of the present invention will now be described, with reference to the accompanying drawings.

[0043] In these drawings:

[0044] [Fig. 1] is a front perspective view of a head equipment according to a first embodiment of the invention, with a telescopic support rod.

[0045] [Fig.2] is a side view of the headgear of [Fig.l], in use and placed on a user's head.

[0046] [Fig.3] is a front perspective view of a headgear according to a second embodiment of the invention, with a deformable support rod, an earphone being detached from the fitting part.

[0047] [Fig.4] is a front perspective view of a head equipment according to a third embodiment of the invention, with a telescopic support rod.

[0048] A head unit 1 according to the invention is configured to be used with an electronic device D of the smartphone type, for example a mobile phone or a tablet.

[0049] If we first refer to Figures 1 and 2, we can see that there is shown there a head equipment 1 according to a first embodiment of the invention, comprising a part 2 for placing on the head of a user U, a support rod 3, and a gripping end piece 4.

[0050] In the embodiment shown in Figures 1 and 2, the laying part 2 comprises a hoop 21 configured to be laid on an upper part of the head of the user U. The hoop 21 comprises two support points 22 configured to bear on two opposite lateral parts of the head of the user U. In the first embodiment, a middle part of the hoop 21 is also configured to bear on the upper part of the head of the user U.

[0051] Preferably, the hoop 21 is adjustable, for example by elastic deformation of the hoop 21, or using sliding rails, in a manner analogous to the hoop of an existing adjustable audio headset.

[0052] According to variants, the laying part 2 can take other forms. Generally, the laying part 2 comprises at least two support points 22 configured to at least bear on two opposite parts of the head of the user U and prevent the tilting of the head equipment 1 worn by the user U, when an electronic device D is arranged in the gripping end piece 4.

[0053] For example, according to variants not shown, the fitting part 2 may take the form of a crown or a headband, for example a rigid crown or an elastic headband possibly comprising a rigid insert secured to the headband and configured to fix the support rod 3. In the case of a crown or a headband, the fitting part 2 comprises an infinite number of support points 22 distributed over a periphery of the fitting part 2. According to variants, pads may extend from the crown or the headband towards the head of the user U to form a predetermined number of support points 22.

[0054] It will also be understood that the anti-tilt effect can be obtained by selecting a number of support points 22 for the laying part 2 and a pressure applied by all of the support points 22 on the head of the user U. The pressure applied can for example be obtained by an elastic deformation of the laying part 2.

[0055] In the first embodiment shown in Figures 1 and 2, the installation part 2 further comprises an anti-tilt element 23, integral with the hoop 21. The anti-tilt element 23 participates in the anti-tilt function of the head equipment 1, and has the role of limiting the pressure, applied by the support points 22 of the installation part 2, necessary to prevent the head equipment 1 from tilting, when the electronic device D is received by the gripping end piece 4.

[0056] In the first embodiment, the anti-tilt element 23 is a strip fixed to the hoop 21 so as to connect two parts of the hoop and to extend over the rear part of the user's head U, as is best seen in [Fig.2].

[0057] Preferably, the band is elastic, in particular so as to allow a precise adjustment to the back of the user's head U. The band may for example be made of a rubber or latex type material. The band may optionally be covered with a fabric, for example an elastic fabric, in order to reduce friction against the user's hair.

[0058] Preferably still, the band is fixed to the arch 21 in a removable and adjustable manner, for example in the manner of a swimming goggle band. In the embodiment embodiment shown in [Fig.l], the hoop 21 comprises several fixing notches 24 making it possible to adjust the height at which the band is fixed to the hoop 21.

[0059] The anti-tilt element 23 comprises at least one support point configured to bear on a rear part of the user's head U, and that the anti-tilt element 23 can, as a variant, take a shape different from that of a band.

[0060] Thus, according to a variant not shown, the anti-tilt element 23 may be a half-arch configured to extend from the arch 21 and onto the rear part of the head of the user U, a distal end of the half-arch comprising a support point configured to bear on the rear part of the head of the user U. For example, the half-arch could have a structure similar to half of the arch 21 of the head equipment 1 of the third embodiment, which is illustrated in [Fig.4] and will be described in more detail below.

[0061] The support rod 3 comprises a first end 31 configured to be fixed to the laying part 2 and a second end 32, opposite the first end 31, configured to receive the gripping tip 4. The first end 31 of the support rod 3 is preferably fixed to a surface of the laying part 2 facing forward.

[0062] In the first embodiment, the first end 31 of the support rod 3 is fixed to the laying part 2 in a removable manner, which in particular makes it possible to dismantle the support rod 3 and therefore to reduce a volume necessary for transporting the head equipment 1 and makes it possible, for example, to easily transport it in a bag, for example a backpack. The removable fixing can be obtained by any technical solution, for example by screwing, by elastic fitting or by clipping. According to a non-preferred variant, the support rod 3 can be connected to the laying part 2 in a fixed manner, for example by gluing or force-fitting, or even be an integral part of the laying part 2, by injection molding or 3D printing.

[0063] In the embodiment shown in Figures 1 and 2, the support rod 3 comprises a telescopic portion 33 configured to allow adjustment of the distance between the gripping tip 4 and the first end 31 of the support rod 3, such that, in use, the electronic device D can be moved away from or closer to the face of the user U.

[0064] Preferably, the support rod 3 is configured such that the gripping end piece 4 can be arranged at a distance of between 30 and 70 cm from the first end 31 of the support rod 3, in particular in order to guarantee good viewing of video content on the electronic device D. It will also be understood that, in combination with an electronic device D comprising a camera, head equipment 1 according to the invention can be used to take photos with the electronic device D, for example self-photos, or “selfies” in English.

[0065] The gripping tip 4 is configured to, in use, grasp and hold the electronic device D opposite the face of the user U. Preferably, the gripping tip 4 is configured such that a screen of the electronic device D can be oriented towards the face of the user U. Thus, the user does not need to hold the electronic device D with his hands, which in particular makes it possible to provide comfortable use to the user U and to avoid the appearance of pain in the ulnar nerve after prolonged use of the electronic device D.

[0066] In the first embodiment shown in Figures 1 and 2, the gripping end piece 4 is of the clamp type and comprises two jaws 41 configured to laterally clamp a slice of the electronic device D, the gripping end piece 4 also comprises springs configured to urge the jaws 41, and an actuating button 42 configured to control an opening and a closing of the jaws 41. The jaws 41 are, preferably, covered with a non-slip material, for example of the rubber type, in order to prevent the electronic device D received in the gripping end piece 4 from slipping.

[0067] The gripping tip 4 is configured to adapt to electronic devices D of different sizes. According to variants, the gripping tip 4 may have other structures, for example of the “RAM® MOUNTS” type or of the type used to hold an electronic device D, for example, in a car, on a motorcycle, on a bicycle, in an airplane or on a handling vehicle.

[0068] In the embodiment shown in Figures 1 and 2, the gripping end 4 is rotatable and configured to allow rotation of the gripping end 4 relative to the support rod 3. It will be understood that the rotation can, for example, be obtained by the use of a ball joint, a pivot connection or two pivot connections arranged between the support rod 3 and the gripping end 4. Preferably the gripping end 4 is rotatable through 360°, where appropriate this makes it possible in particular to provide original viewing angles for photos taken with the electronic device D.

[0069] Furthermore, in the embodiment shown in Figures 1 and 2, the head equipment 1 is an audio headset and further comprises two earphones 25. Each earphone 25 is fixed to a respective distal end of the headband 21 so as to bear on a respective lateral part of the head of the user U and to be arranged opposite an ear of the user U, such that the earphones 25 form the support points 22 of the installation part 2 and do not block the vision of the user U of the head equipment 1.

[0070] Preferably, each earphone 25 comprises an integrated microphone. According to a less preferred variant, only one of the earphones 25 comprises an integrated microphone. The built-in microphones are configured to pick up the voice of the user U, in particular when the electronic device D is used for a conversation, for example for a telephone call or a video conference call.

[0071] Each earphone 25 is configured to be able to be connected to the electronic device D, so as to be able to emit audio content corresponding to the video content displayed by the electronic device D, and, where appropriate, to be able to transmit the sound captured by the integrated microphones to the electronic device D.

[0072] A connection between an earphone 25 and the electronic device D can be made by any means, for example wired using a jack cable or a USB cable, preferably USB type C, or wirelessly using a Bluetooth® connection or a Wi-Fi connection.

[0073] Preferably, the head equipment 1 comprises a control device configured to control the earphones 25 and a connection with the electronic device D.

[0074] Furthermore, in the embodiment shown in Figures 1 and 2, an earphone 25 is detachably attached to the headband 21, includes an integrated battery, and is configured to be used as a standalone audio speaker in a state detached from the headband 21, for example to allow the user to share music with other people. [Fig. 3], illustrating a headgear 1 according to the second embodiment which will be described in more detail below, shows, for example, an earphone 25 in a state detached from the headband 21.

[0075] The integrated battery makes it possible to power the earphone 25 both in a state attached to the headband 21 and in a state detached from the headband 21, in which it forms an audio speaker. The integrated battery is rechargeable and can be recharged wired, for example using a USB wired charger, preferably having a USB type C cable, or wirelessly, for example using an induction charger.

[0076] In a variant where the head equipment 1 comprises a single earphone 25 detachably attached to the headband 21, the battery may be configured to also power an earphone 25 fixedly attached to the headband 21, such that the head equipment 1 comprises only a single battery. Similarly, it will be understood that the head equipment 1 may comprise only a single control device for two earphones 25.

[0077] In [Fig.3], the earphone 25 detachably attached to the headband 21 comprises a fixed shell 251 fixedly attached to the roll bar and a detachable module 252 detachably attached to the fixed shell 251. The detachable attachment is obtained by shape complementarity and rotation of the detachable module 252 relative to the fixed shell 251. Preferably, the fixed shell 251 and the detachable module 252 comprise complementary notches configured to lock the detachable module 252 with the fixed hull 251 at the end of the rotation stroke.

[0078] Other technical solutions may be used as a variant to provide a detachable attachment of an earphone 25 to the headband 21, for example a screwing, an elastic fitting, or a clipping, possibly controlled with an actuating button controlling an attachment and / or a detachment of the earphone 25 from the headband 21.

[0079] Preferably, control buttons of the earphone 25, for example a switching button configured to switch the earphone 25 between a "headphone" mode and an "audio speaker" mode, sound volume control buttons, a power on / off button, a play / pause button and an audio track selection button, are directly integrated on the earphone 25 detachably attached to the headband 21, on the detachable module 252, such that said earphone 25 can be controlled in the detached state.

[0080] According to a variant, the two earphones 25 can be detachably attached to be used as audio speakers, for example as stereo audio speakers, the control buttons being able to be carried by the two earphones 25 or only one of the earphones 25. According to a non-preferred variant, the head equipment 1 of the audio headset type can comprise a single earphone 25.

[0081] [Fig. 3] shows a head equipment 1 according to a second embodiment. The head equipment 1 according to the second embodiment is identical to the head equipment 1 of the first embodiment shown in Figures 1 and 2, with the exception of the support rod 3 and the gripping tip 4.

[0082] In the second embodiment, the support rod 3 comprises a deformable portion 34 configured to be plastically deformed by hand by the user U in order to allow adjustment of the position of the gripping tip 4 relative to the first end 31 of the support rod 3. The deformable portion 34 may for example be made of a rod-type polymer, for example polyethylene (or PE), of metal, for example steel, or of a combination thereof. The deformable portion 34 may for example be a polymer rod, for example polyethylene, or a rod comprising a metal wire, for example steel, covered with a polymer sheath, for example polyethylene. It will also be understood that, according to variants, the metal wire may be arranged only in certain portions of the deformable portion 34.

[0083] A combination of a choice of materials and a choice of dimensions of the deformable part 34, in particular of a section thereof, makes it possible to control a deformability of the support rod 3.

[0084] The deformable part 34 makes it possible to vary the distance between the gripping tip 4 and the laying part 2, in particular by modifying the shape of the deformable part. formable 34. For example, the gripping tip 4 is arranged at a greater distance from the laying part 2 when the deformable part 34 has a rectilinear shape than when the deformable part 34 has an arcuate shape, for example an arcuate shape as shown in [Fig. 3]. According to a non-preferred variant, the deformable part 34 can also be configured to allow an elongation deformation of the support rod 3.

[0085] Furthermore, in the second embodiment, the gripping end piece 4 is directly attached to the support rod 3. The gripping end piece 4 can be oriented relative to the support rod 3 by deformation of the deformable part 34. Alternatively and in a manner analogous to the first embodiment shown in Figures 1 and 2, the gripping end piece 4 could be rotatable and configured to allow rotation of the gripping end piece 4 relative to the support rod 3, for example by the use of a ball joint, a pivot joint or two pivot joints arranged between the support rod 3 and the gripping end piece 4.

[0086] According to a variant not shown of the second embodiment, the support rod 3 can be configured to participate in the anti-tilt function of the head equipment 1, for example by replacing the anti-tilt element 23. The arch 21 can for example be configured to bear on the head of the user U between the upper part and the rear part of the head of the user U, so as to be placed in a position inclined 45° towards the rear relative to the position of the arch 21 shown in [Fig.2]. The deformable part 34 of the support rod 3 can then be configured to, on the side of the first end 31 of the support rod 3, be deformed and positioned to rest on the upper part of the head of the user U, such that the head equipment 1 cannot tilt forward, even when the electronic device D is received by the gripping end piece 4.

[0087] According to embodiments not shown, the support rod 3 may comprise, arranged successively, a telescopic part 33 and one or more deformable parts 34.

[0088] For example, the support rod 3 may comprise a telescopic portion 33 at its first end 31 and a deformable portion 34 at its second end 32, such that the telescopic portion 33 may allow adjustment of the length of the support rod 3 and the deformable portion 34 may allow orientation of the gripping tip 4.

[0089] According to another example, the support rod 3 may comprise a deformable part 34 at its first end 31 and a telescopic part 33 at its second end 32, such that the deformable part 34 can participate in the anti-tilt function, for example in a manner analogous to that described above, and that the telescopic part telescopic 33 can allow adjustment of the length of the support rod 3.

[0090] According to yet another example, the support rod 3 may comprise a first deformable portion 34 at its first end 31, a second deformable portion 34 at its second end 32, and a telescopic portion 33 arranged between the first and second deformable portions 34.

[0091] [Fig.4] shows a head equipment 1 according to a third embodiment. The head equipment 1 according to the third embodiment is identical to the head equipment 1 according to the first embodiment shown in Figures 1 and 2, with the exception of the support points 22 of the laying part 2.

[0092] In the third embodiment shown in [Fig. 4], the fitting part 2 comprises two support points 22, each constituted by a pad 26, which replaces an earphone 25 of the first embodiment shown in Figures 1 and 2. The pads 26 form the support points 22 of the fitting part 2, and each pad 26 is fixed to a respective distal end of the arch 21 so as to bear on a respective lateral part of the head of the user U and to be, in use, arranged at the level of an ear of the user U, preferably behind the auricle of the ear and above the curvature of the ear. For the purposes of the invention, the term "curvature of the ear" means the part of the ear on which a branch of glasses worn by the user U would bear.

[0093] According to a variant not shown of the third embodiment, the support rod 3 may comprise a deformable part 34, in addition to or replacing the telescopic part 33, in a manner similar to what was described above for the second embodiment.

[0094] It is understood that the particular embodiments which have just been described have been given for informational and non-limiting purposes, and that modifications may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.
